Availability USA - Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite Questions & Answers

Hello
Has anyone gotten this for use within united states? I see a few on ebay but a little wary. Seems like a great phone for 5G on the cheap.

If you look at Kimovil's Frequency Checker, you can see that it is a good option for us Europeans but the support for the USA is rather lacking. This may be the reason why there isn't many of them in your country. If I look at eBay, there is a couple of them that ship to my country from the UK for a fair price.

Question regarding region of all these pre-order sites

I'm seeing alot of people are finding preorders in places like UK and germany. Is the M9 the same hardware no matter where it's sold with software being the only difference, or should I avoid ones sold in other countries if my intended use is for in America?

The radio chips are customized for various regions. Wait for the US model.

Is this seller legit?

I'm not advertising him or anything, if this still counts as advertising pls let me know. :silly:
Anyway, here's a link
Should I buy it from this guy? Considering I don't live in the USA so I pay for shipment and stuff is the price fair?
Thanks :laugh::fingers-crossed:
It most likely is, but there's better aliexpress stores to buy from that guarantee no import costs and tax when in the EU.
Also, really big con when buying from aliexpress. You don't get official support through the OnePlus website, and it's the Chinese model you're buying. That means it doesn't have LTE band 8, or 800mhz. This band is used mostly for getting LTE in houses and outside of the city. Aliexpress has 0 stores that sell the European model. That's why, even though shipping time is longer and the price is slightly higher, I still ordered from the official OnePlus website.

Where to buy outside of India?

Simple as that, can't see the phone anywhere in the China and HK sites.
Any mail forward services from India that you would recommend? or India sites that will ship this thing internationally
I rather avoid resellers

Soon I hope, for now it is available only in India.
I guess we have to wait till it's available on Aliexpress.
This phone has still not gone on sale in India ( first sale is on 22nd) so I think it would take a few months for it to be on sites like aliexpress or you can ask any Indian friend to probably ship one for you personally
but remeber it has not LTE band 20. Perhaps it will be add on international/eu version..

Anyone know where to buy the Mate 20x in the US?

Anyone know? Or maybe some legit seller (besides eBay) that would ship here to USA. Also on a side note, does anyone know if LTE would work on the TMobile network?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

There is a list of sellers at the beginning of this forum. All of them are from China and all ship globally. Ebay is the worst possibility right now - resellers there are taking a great advantage of a limited buying opportunity for this phone.
Check about import duties with your customs before buying. The USA imposes import taxes on China merchandise lately and I don't know if the technical stuff is involved.
Or better, if you're not in hurry, wait a couple of weeks. The price might drop and you may have a chance to buy the phone from Amazon or at least from a reseller in Europe.
As regard T-Mobile, yes, the phone will work with this operator. On HDSPA bands and on LTE bands 2, 4 and 12. It won't work on new bands 66 and 71 but it is the same with other phones except for some iPhone, Samsung, LG, and Motorola models. But then, I think that LTE 12 is mostly in use everywhere. You won't have special services like VoLTE, VoWiFi though. The operator requests certification fee for those services and it can't be expected that Chinese pay it. The phone is not intended for the USA market and besides Huawei is kinda blacklisted there.

It has been quite some time since this inquiry, my friend. The situation has changed a lot since then, the USA and China are in the trade war and hence Chinese removed plenty of Huawei facilities from the USA and therefore you can't find any Mate X support there anymore. You can still buy the Mate X in the USA from various vendors from around the world but without any warranty.
My personal recommendation is to buy it from Amazon, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-EVR-L...116&s=gateway&sprefix=mate+20x,aps,228&sr=8-4.
The dilemma is though what to buy: the Chinese model or the international model (link). Although the international model has problems with occasional random reboots right now on 9.1, the problem will be sorted out eventually and you have fully Google support integrated even with Android Q (EMUI10), which is about to come. The Chinese model has no flaws and upgrades are regularly but then it is heavy bloated and Chinese oriented without native Google apps. There is workaround though with root and transformation rom but as it looks support ends with 9.1 beta.
Both models support Tmobile LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12.
Why Amazon: It's a US vendor, and there are not many others there right now. As you don't get Huawei warranty in the USA you still have Amazon's guaranty for the enough time to check phone functionality and there are not many chances that you find hidden malfunction later.
Thanks so much. The Chinese version is so much cheaper, I'm looking to get that to use on T-mobile.

You are wrong, the EVR-AL00 has all the support beyond 9.1 beta and receives official updates before the global version of the phone. The current problem is that with non beta release of 9.1 came the new EROFS file system (see here) that prevents any updates to custom roms, which has lead to many devs leaving this amazing phone and that at the moment you can't get codes to unlock bootloader in order to gain root.
That's what I said. The Chinese model is updated more regulary and works flawlessly as 9.1. But after beta 9.1 there is no internationalization any more and original system is heavy Chinese oriented.
Anyway, if someone is looking for Chinese Mate x I think that Aliexppress has good prices right now.

I bought my l29 20x from clove significantly cheaper than that price. I paid 499 pounds (overseas excludes vat) and it's even cheaper now at 439 pounds:

You see I'm researching the 20X and some say that it does have volte functionality when being used on Tmobile USA and some like yourself say it doesn't.
However i'm aware the Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro doesn't have volte functionality on the tmobile network. But does the 20X?

I love my EVRL29 version...this is by far the best phone I have used hands down.
I purchased mine from Amazon.com and have the protection of Amazon. I purchased the AL00 first as I had the EVRL29 previously (6 months ago but sold it to get the P30Pro) but I ended up missing my Mate 20X so much I had to sell my P30Pro and get back to my Mate 20X. The AL00 was easy to remove the bloat etc but I couldn’t get all Google to work including some of the Google back ups. I couldn’t get Google Pay to work but actually activating the Google apps was very easy. I had to return the AL00 though as I just didn’t want a fantastic phone that only half worked...maybe not half but you get the picture. I reordered from the Amazon.com dealer and the phone was shipped the following day Thursday and I had it in my hands Friday afternoon. The pick up time was Thurs at 3pm and delivered the next day by noon, from Hong Kong to Victoria, B.C literally overnight. Anyways I also have received 4 updates since I got the phone and I would 100% get the EVRL29 model as everything works including Google Pay, back ups, everything...I love this phone!

China 8/256

So I can get the 7T with 8/256 imported on Honor buy or eglobal for about €500
This is €100 cheaper than oneplus official site which only sells 8/128 model
The only real downside is that they open the box and flash global rom.
Does anyone recommend buying like this and what are your experiences ?
Im just not really comfortable with them opening the box and handling the phone but I suppose everything should really be ok

You can always just request them to ship it sealed. To be sure, just email them before placing the order and ask if its possible to ship it sealed with CN ROM. If they say it is not possible, just order from another site, like wondamobile.

Yea,I have done my research there and contacted support on both eglobal and Honor buy. They say they can't do it but Wonda mobile does(though I have heard of people requesting it sealed only to receive it open).
The downside with Wonda is their prices are a little higher and they charge 20 to 40 euro on delivery outside the UK
You can get it for a lot less..

AliExpress ??
Even i'm thinking of getting one from aliexpress as it is cheaper.
Is there any hardware difference between chinese and global version?
Only changing from hydrogen os to oxygen os will suffice?

Yep, Oneplus is good like that, all same LTE bands and everything on the Chinese version so just simply install OxygenOS.
AliExpress though, while cheap takes a few weeks to be delivered.
If I could find a store willing to provide a sealed unit I would probably buy.

there are some crazy offers lined up for 11.11 sale on Ali Express. The only thing keeping me back is lack of 3.5 . I would sorely miss it.

I'm pretty sure that with Wondamobile(that's where i want to get one from), if you email/call them before placing the order and also notifying them again with order number just as you placed it, that they will ship it sealed. Nevertheless, if somehow your order gets shipped unsealed, you have 14 days to return your order, bearing a 30 pounds fee for ''change of mind'' aka don't want it.
Plus, what got me hooked on wonda even though its a bit pricier, there are no import tax fees, your order is sure to get delivered in about a week compared to ali and they do offer warranty 12 months, compared to ali.
I also did a bit of research on them and they seem very legit, their trustpilot is almost only 5 stars reviews, people seem very pleased with them.
True you do pay 20 pounds delivery outside UK, but from ali you pay both delivery fees by courier AND import tax which is a big no especially on the price of the phone. Unless, you find a store that is guaranteed no import tax and transport price is low enough, there is still the warranty question at hand.
Anyhow, i'm not affiliated with them in any way and i'm not trying to influence your decision. I haven't ordered mine yet, still looking around for best place to get it from at a low enough price but also a safe product.
Have a good day!

Absolutely,I've been in touch with Wonda previously inquiring about previous phones and they did say to ask them to send the phone sealed. The only problem is that their prices are just a little too high for it to be really worth it. For instance the 7T is about €500 + the €25 delivery,it is still a nice saving but not really appealing.Certainly a very good option though but eglobal and Honor buy are cheaper with also no custom charges but they don't give Chinese phones sealed
JD.com has the China version 8/256gb (BRAND NEW) for less than $460 shipping included. I compared the China version and knew some T-Mobile LTE bands are not listed.

CN 8/256 on Verizon USA
I ordered an 8/256 "International" model from geartbest. They don't list a model #, but I'm almost certain it is the hd1900 or cn version. I plan to use it on Verizon in the US. Is anyone aware of potential issues I'll run into? Apparently Verizon is using some band 66 now, and that frequency isn't listed for the cn model. I'm very curious to know if the EU or international ROM they load enables band 66?

That's the only thing that stopped me, I'm on T-Mobile and I know if I am going to keep the phone long term, I want the most bands possible. I would love the double storage but I'm only using 50gb right now on my current phone so 256gb is a bit overkill if I'm giving up Band 66 & 71.
Does anyone on this board actually have the 256gb version on T-mobile in the US? How's it performing. I saw a number of sellers have it on Ebay presumably in sealed boxes.

Most from eBay are not the U.S. version, which do not support T-Mobile' LTE band 66 and 71.

Yeah, I am using Hwawei Mate 20 X(China version) with T-Mobile. At the time I didn't know it doesn't support band 66 and 71, so I got it because the ChIna version was like $150 cheaper than the non-China version.
Without band 66 and 71, I didn't experience obvious difference of reception but I know sometimes the internet speed is very slow. I am guessing that's why.
Thanks. I've been running LTE discovery app on my 7 pro and the bands my phone constantly uses are 2, 4 and 12. I was assuming that even though the 256gb was missing 66 and 71 that it wouldn't be much of a problem (since it was 2, 4 and 12(). Am I wrong?

You're not wrong for that line of thinking it's more of where Band 66 and 71 go in the future. If you keep your phone long term it would be good to have all available bands. Just saw T-Mobile is rolling out 5G on it's 600mhz band 71. Now, the 7T can't get 5G but just an example of you never quite know what they are going to do with the bands. Pending how much you travel it would be good to have all bands available that your carrier operates on. If you switch phones often then this a moot point and you should go for the 256GB version, but as I said this is what kept me from picking one up and ultimately getting the NA version.
Thanks. I'm going to give the 256gb a try since these international prices are ridiculously good. Hopefully it will be fine. Thanks again.

Hi
I'm not making any promotion for them but I ordered yesterday the 256GB version for about 445€ from Gearbest. This was with a coupon, but now the price is event more interesting without : 490$
If you have a way to pay in $ without being charged by your bank (online free bank accounts allow that) it's about 441€.
Again, not trying to sell anything, I just think price is really good.
