How to enable VoLTE/VoWiFi on unsupported carriers? - Google Pixel 4a 5G Guides, News, & Discussion

I had tried volte_pixel_4 for Pixel 4: switches are available and work, but no registering in ims
Anybody have success story?

Me either for 4a (not 5G), VoLTE enabled in the settings but showing not registered in IMS status.
Waiting someone for a help here.

Don't you have to have certain settings on your sim card for that?

VoLTE on country where Pixel is not launch

Hi,
Is there a way to enable VoLTE on country where Pixel is not launched. My note 7 and Z5P are able to use VoLTE but not Pixel. I tried enabling it from *#*#4636#*# * but it was not able to turn on. Any one knows how to enable it? I checked with telco and they are saying nothing wrong with my line for voLTE and I need to check with the manufacturer. Any help is appreciated.
Anyone can help?
The 7.1.1 pushed out today enabled VoLTE for Reliance Jio operator in India and it wasn't working earlier. Perhaps this new update might help.
No it is not working. Cannot enable that VoLTE option even after update. Maybe gotto wait for Google to launch Pixel in Singapore.

How to enable VoLTE on Pixel?

Hi guys.
Let me elaborate my question.
1. I am totally aware that VoLTE on Android at the moment generally requires the handset to be from the carrier, or from the same region as the carrier for it to have the correct VoLTE (and VoWIFI) settings.
2. I am also totally aware that since Android 6.0, there actually has been a provision to allow carriers to send carrier settings to the user. I also know that this isnt being widely used.
After my ownership of my Pixel XL, I moved to a HTC U11, which I have flashed a custom ROM. This custom ROM managed to have the carrier settings for VoLTE for my carrier baked in.
I am keen on getting a Pixel XL2, so Im keen to see what the Pixel community is doing to enable VoLTE on networks that arent stocking the Pixel or Pixel XL.
Here in Australia, both generations of the pixel seem like they will be Telstra exclusives. and I am not inclined to go on their network!
Thanks for any assistance!
I use it with T-Mobile, only Verizon stocks it in the States. Volte works fine for me. Nothing i needed to do other than to setup the phone with the Sim card in the device.
Same here, got it with my T-Mobile SIM card.
This worked for me. Go to dialer and dial
*#*#4636#*#*
Phone Information
Turn on VoLTE
Turn on Video Calling
Turn on Wi-Fi Calling
Exit
I'm on Oreo 8.1 on my P2 XL, looks like it's already enabled. I'm on AT&T.

Change carrier. AFAIK you'll never get enhanced LTE services using a non-AT&T branded phone on their network. Once I switched my pixel xl to T-Mobile things like that and wifi calling worked fine.
My condolences to your Pixel XL 2. I was in a Verizon store the other day just to check out PXL2. The blue tint when turning the phone horizontally - horrific. Also, barely faster than my Pixel XL, even if you care for that kind of thing (speed.)

Same problem in Argentina, Pixel is NOT SOLD here so.... out of luck, but I tried this (already knew of the menu) and all my options are blacked out -can't enable any of them-, advice?????
Thanks.
If you can get root on your phone, flash magisk and there is a module in there to install that can enable VoLte and Wifi calling, worked for me on AT&T.

the module only changes the settings to allow for toggling but does not provide needed ims libraries.

I had to toggle VoLTE off then on, restart. It's working for me now
"Turn on Video Calling"
Option is disabled, couldn't turn on
Depends if you're on Verizon or straight talk or what. I'm on straight talk and they don't offer VOLTE even though they use Verizon towers.
Using *#*#4636#*#*, the VoLTE provisioned option is greyd out. Anyone has a solution for this?

It means your operator is not offering VoLTE, or, as in my case, Pixel XL is not approved by the operator. I have VoLTE on my SIM enabled and working with operator approved devices but network rejects Pixel as not compatible one.

Operator offers VoLTE and it doesn't filter IMEI like in some cases. Other not approved devices (e.g xiaomi, oneplus) managed to enable volte via shortcuts. I am asking for a similar workaround. --thanks
Of you're on Straight Talk you're SOL. They don't offer it even if you're using a Verizon SIM
If you had geryed provisioning options you need to use magisks voenabler. a did it right now on december pie update. Now I have all enabled. Just waiting for operator to enable volte for my number. I wonder it will active.
Hi, my carrier does support VoLTE but the Pixel is not on its whitelist.
When dialing *#*#4636#*#* and going into phone info, the switches for "VoLTE Provisioned" is off and greyed out, but at the top of this screen I see "Voice Network Type: LTE". Does that mean I am getting VoLTE? I cannot see any other sign or symbol when calling. (I know some devices have a VoLTE symbol either in the status bar or during a call)

Force-enable VoWiFi?

Hey, so I just bought a new SIM card from Airtel, and turns out, VoWiFi is not working on it. Jio (another sim) provides VoWiFi support fully, and it works completely, by the way. I contacted both Airtel and Google and they just keep on the "blame-the-other" game.
Anyone managed to force enable VoWiFi? VoLTE works already (even though the phone isn't listed in the supported list for Airtel), but not VoWiFi.
*#*#4636#*#* says, IMS registered -> true, VoLTE -> available, VoWiFi -> unavailable, Video Calling -> unavailable, UT Interface -> unavailable.

VoLTE & VoWifi on Telstra in Australia

I managed to successfully change the carrier policies on my OnePlus to enable VoWifi and VoLTE in Australia using the guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/volte-vowifi-and-5g-in-aus.4284047/#post-85119383
My colleague has a Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro - is there a similar set of instructions available to enable VoWifi and VoLTE on that phone in Australia?
In NZ I had success using these Phone codes that turned on VoLTE for me (no VoWIFI for my network). These seem to be standard codes for Xiaomi worldwide that enable support if the underlying software recognises your network's version.
To turn on VoLTE: open your phone app and dial *#*#86583#*#* and you'll see a quick toast message saying it's turned on. Type the code again to turn it off.
To turn on VoWifi: open your phone app and dial *#*#869434#*#*
To check settings *#*#INFO#*#*
Also look under the SIM card settings. If you've enabled either properly there should be a menu item saying "Use VoLTE" and similar.
Once enabled for me it took a few minutes for VoLTE to register. I rebooted, but don't think that was necessary. Now I make VoLTE calls (4G stays in place during the call) and I have a VoLTE icon in the status bar.

Volte option

My Carrier supports VoLTE and VoWiFi but I can't find anything in the settings to enable either one. My carrier can't help, and Nokia support have been virtually useless. If I look in the phone information (*#*#4636#*#*) both options are disabled, unselectable and greyed out. i.e. not provisioned.
Anyone can help me?
