Using AndroidAuto phone gradually loses charge - Xiaomi Mi 10T / 10T Pro Questions & Answers

On every other phone, using them connected to the car via USB gradually charges the phones.
With my Mi10T Pro just running AndroidAuto on the same car causes the phone to lose charge. I'm using stock 12.0.7 international.
Anyone else having excess battery drain while using AndroidAuto connected to a car?

Now working ok - phone gradually accumulates charge while using AA connected. Took a few reboots and that seems to have solved whatever was eating battery.

I think you have slow charger

[Q] Charging issues - CM10.1

I currently have the CM10.1-M3 build from 4/17/13 installed.
For a long while, I have been having major issues charging my Captivate Glide.
My original battery died. It was bloated. I called AT+T and they sent me a replacement. I also bought two high capacity batteries.
If I leave the phone charging about half the time little or no progress is made charging. Lat night I charged the phone for over 8 hours and the charge went from 10% to 14%.
Other times I will wake up after charging it all night and it will say fully charged, but then the instant it is unplugged from the charger, it will drop down from 100% to 20% or less.
Then once every 3 or 4 days it will actually fully charge. But even in that case the charging is slow at best.
I did a full wipe and re-flashed last night and nothing changed. I have tried charging in airplane mode, but that seems to make it worse. I have had a little tiny bit of success turning mobile data off, but otherwise I have tried everything I could think of with no luck.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or have any suggestions? Is this a case where I might need to replace the phone entirely?

I have tried a few different chargers. I mostly use a 2.1amp wall charger. I also have a 1 amp wall charger, and a 1 amp car charger. I have tried about 3 different car chargers.
I am really suspicious that the micro-usb port on the phone went bad and that I will need to get the phone replaced.
Charging with AC is gonna be alot faster then with DC. But as far as it being the rom I don't see tthat.. sounds like possibly a loose wire or bad connection when u lay ur phone down

phatryan has a point, do a nandroid backup, flash to stock and see if the charging makes a difference..
Charging
Hello,
When I charge my Captivate Glide with phone powered up plugged in to the wall, using the supplied wall charger, I've noticed that the battery seems to drain quicker. This is with the original battery, I will be getting an extended battery for my phone. If I power the phone down then charge it in to the wall it charges quickly and seems to take longer draining. This does not happen when charging with the PC.

Bloated battery could just be bad - but it could also be due to overcharging. That's not going to happen unless there is a serious problem with your phone, or possibly a problem with the contacts leading to an incorrect voltage reading. This also may explain your problems charging and sudden jumps in charge %.
Clean your contacts well on the battery side and phone side with a pencil eraser, rubbing alcohol, etc.
I notice a big difference with whatever kernel is shipping with the current M3 cm10.1 build between a 500ma charger and 2amp charger, so I imagine the kernel is set for a 750ma or 1amp charge.

[Q] Unstable Charging

Need help fellow Note 2 users,
I am having problems with my phone's charging time.
I usually charge while the phone is turned on, and charging time usually takes around 4 hours from critical level to full while turned on (on power outlet, 6hrs on USB source). This was normal, it has been that long since I got the phone back in 2012.
But recently, there are times that it takes 8 hours or more and the phone isn't full yet (on outlet).
I could not isolate whether the problem is with my charger or battery as I don't have a spare charger to use/battery to swap.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
My phone (GT-N7100) is all stock, never rooted. Running on 4.4.2 DXUFND2 Philippines XTE.
Your charging cable has gone kaput. Replace it with another. Bandridge BCL 4901 / 4902 is a good option.

[Q] LG G4 Charging Very Slowly

Hi, I just got an LG G4 yesterday. Charging using stock charger, or any other charger I had no problems with S3 before, is really slow. As in obviously slow. The unit is estimating 3-4 hours to charge 30%-40% of battery. Once it took around 20-30 minutes to just charge 5% of battery.
Using Ampere app it is showing on average just 270mah charge. Sometimes it registers 1660mah, then it drops down significantly and settles with 270mah.
Using the dual sim model if that's any help.
Is this a new battery thing? Should I insist to have the unit (or the battery) replaced? Is this a hardware or a software issue? Even if i insist to have this replaced I want to be able to explain that this is a factory defect.
Same problem here..
Really annoying.

Same here, I think it charges at full speed when the screen is off...
I got myself a QC2.0 charger and its doing exactly the same.
It does appear to charge faster with it while the screen is off but I'm wondering if there is an update to the device that needs to be done to fully support QC2.0
i've buy an Aukey Turbo Charger Adapter.
Then my G4 has fast charging more about 75%
I've seen the same thing happen on mine. Highest current I've seen was 1650 mah. And that's with the screen off. Leaving the screen on it reduces to 270 mah

I had the same problem but it stopped after about week. Now it charges quite quickly and that's not with the fastcharge that isn't too impressive.
Same issue. Charging went from 2% to 46% in about 3.5 hours and it says it's still another 4 hours before it completes charging. Totally annoying.
i using the Aukey Turbo Charger and get around 1%-1.5% every min i have done 30%-70% in like 40min
I have a HTC quick charger that I used with my M8. It works well with the G4. With the screen off I have had nearly 2 A charging. It is much less when the screen is on.
Just got my G4 and it's doing the same thing.

my post was made during 2nd ever charging. i did turn on screen occasionally, but not like it was on all the time.
last night charge was shorter - around 5.5 hours.
This is really annoying trying to stream music and navigation sometimes losses a charge. With nexus 5 I usually gained 30 plus percent on my way to work on 40 ish minutes with car charger.
It "might" be a software limitation, to avoid pushing the battery too hard in its early cycles. Same as a brand new car, they usually tell you not to drive too fast for the motor to actually run with optimal parameters.

I am also experiencing the same. I am getting 640mA. It is really frustrating. Yesterday I connected the phone with the provided cable with G4 with my laptop. And i was using the phone, not heavy using. And actually the battery was draining, rather than charging. I got so frustrated. I found the phone actually charges better while staying idle & screen off, but not very promising.
Yep, add me to that list too. T-Mobile G4 with screen off and no use because I'm driving almost all day just to see a 5-10% more charge after driving almost 2 hours. The original charger behaves the same way too. The only fix I've found is to turn the phone off and charge it. It charges really fast that way only.

Charged mine from 2 to 100% in under 2 hours with my note 4 charger
@fatboypup does this also work with screen on? Imagine using gmaps in the car, screen and gps active - it would be a pity if the g4 lost power in such a situation when on the car charger

As I noted above it is an issue with cars too. I'm lucky to gain 5 to 10 percent with navigation and streaming music in 45 mins. The same situation with nexus was over 30%.
Does this behavior stay or is it only for the first charges? Is there anyone who has no slow charging with screen on? Is the g4 gaining at least some percent when navigating with gmaps?

H10 loosing battery after being connected over USB

Folks, I am seeing very strange behaviour - my HTC in general works fine except situations when I connect the phone over USB no matter if it is car unit or my mac. after using it and disconnecting I see in time that phone loosing higher than usual battery even on standby
only restarting the phone helps (this does not apply to charging the phone using charger and USB cable)
- in normal conditions phone eats 1% during standby 1 hour
- in those weird scenarios battery use is 3-4% during standby 1 hour
any thoughts?
Any chance you leave your 4G on or use an app that uses the device? Cuz USB charging is so weak and it would charge the battery very slowly even with your screen off.

Install Amplify App from playstore and check the current while connected to USB

fast charge issue?

Previously coming from S8 & Note 8, while playing power demanding games plugged in it would hold and charges just fine but now it's barely gaining any. It says "fastcharge" but doesn't feel like it at all... anyone having similar issue?
I been on 4% past 30mins or so while playing Lineage 2 Revolution. Sometimes, I would lose 1~2%!
I have the same issue. I am charging S9 via cable with quick charge 3.0 adapter in my car. Some times it charging fast but sometimes it discharging even in idle. I found that it can be related with phone heatup. In sunny weather phone is warm (battery temperature about 40C-42C) and phone not charging. If I put phone in shade then it start charging in 5 minutes
