Must Have An Unlocked Bootloader To Do This!
This An odin tar file I have created to flash along with stock odin firmware to automatically install TWRP recovery along with Disable VBMETA image. The tar file will also automatically install magisk root along with remove force encryption and patch bluetooth library file. It will also patch safetynet. No flashing of zips is required

This will force a wipe of data no mater what.
Full Odin 4.0 Android 12 Bit4 Safe Firmware
G973USQU6HULD_BIT4_SAFE.7z
This are odin files and will safely update all image files too bit 6 and keep bit 4 bootloaders. Unfortunately this will wipe data this is beyond my control as it seems to be a side affect of mixing firmware it causes data not to mount and therefore my AIO will format it. This is full firmware with USERDATA_AIO. This will put you on U firmware. Before flashing I recommend removing your google account and make sure in download mode you are not frp locked
If above USERDATA_AIO_G973_FORCE_WIPE_08_35_21.tar.md5 is newer than the one in this zip use the newer one from above

You are the best, thanks.

I update the tar file so now only one is needed for android 10 or 11 and I and I changed the safenet fix to the latest one that patches your own keystore file thanks @afaneh92 for the module and have it install as a magisk module so it doesnt affect system files that way if a bettery way comes out you can simply update the module and not have too worry about replacing system files. If you have used my old tar to root your phone I suggest reflashing stock firmware in odin along with my new tar file and this will remove the safetynet files from system and too the module

tried this via odin and it says md5 hash is invalid im on android 11

Fixed issues where if bluetooth or keystore files are already patched in system by other means then my installer will just skip them instead of failing during flash

Add files for SM-G973W Canadian Model

eventually for G9730 HK variant pls ?

Possible to add support for g973F variant?

Thank you so much for this.

Is it possible to upgrade and keep my device as SM-G973U1? U1 is the only variant that seems to allow wifi calling on AT&T MVNOs and I find it necessary. Don't want to lose that. Plain old U I am told is a problem.
Currently running Android 10 on a Snapdragon using your previous instructions, for which I am very grateful.

Thank you to all who spent time developing this All in one solution!
Hi,
Thank you for your post!
I am looking at buying a Samsung SM-A716U that I think is the AT&T model, but I'll use it with "Metro by T-Mobile", since it's "GSM Unlocked".
But anyway, I am getting a little confused, because I am seeing posts about this phone (like yours) that also reference the "SnapDragon" SoC/CPU, but every one of these phones I see advertized on Amazon, for example (the eBay ads don't say who makes it), list the chip as follows;
Exybos 980 (8 NM) Octa-Core
(2x2 2GHz Cortex-A77
& 6x1.8 GHz Cortex A55)
The thing is, that I don't want to go ahead and buy it, only to find out that the "BootLoader Unlocker", Rooting method, TWRP version, your whole procedure here, the available ROMs, etc., et al, will only work on a SnapDragon version of the SM-A716U.
Do you have any knowledge on this, please?
P.S. I am open to suggestions for other phones, as long as they're $500 or less, have an SD Card slot and hopefully a removable battery. I know this one doesn't have the last one, but there is a case sold for it that has more battery built in.
Thank You!
Zeuszoos
@Zeuszoos If you buy one of the phones with the Exynos chip, you don't have to go through all of this. Those are all unlockable when you receive them. Only US bound (Snapdragon CPU) phones have this locked bootloader that can't be unlocked using standard ADB tools.

Okay, thank you. The one I bought did end up having a SnapDragon chip.
Just to be sure:
* Unlocking the BootLoader is different than if it's GSM Unlocked, right?
* The BootLoader must be Unlocked in order to Root it and install TWRP, right?
Thank You!
I UPDATED TO 11 ANND IM STILL UNLOCKED CAN I USE THIS TO ROOT AND GET TWRP?

Just a little help please unlocking bootloader/Root TMOBILE Oneplus7T(Sim unlocked) without Oneplus code

Does anyone know a way to unlock the bootloader of Oneplus 7t without asking for an unlock code from T-mobile? I was able to get it network unlocked however never rooted it. Even on my oneplus 5t which I'm trying to root(got bootloader unlocked) I can't root because it says "waiting for device" when trying to flash the twrp.img file and that phone is a global variant. It seems like I'm having issues with both for "waiting for any device" through adb.

Rooting is different than unlocking BL. Install twrp and flash magisk 25.2 apk using twrp, reboot into rom, install magisk 25.2 apk, turn on root in Magisk app. Then you'll be rooted

Yes. As I understand, if your bootloader is unlocked:
* You should be able to flash any 7t ROM. However, you can't relock bootloader on a custom ROM.
* If you flash official global Oneplus ROM, you can either leave your bootloader unlocked (and gain root access with magisk etc, but caviot is 'device is unsafe' display message on boot), or you can choose to re-lock the bootlader and make it like stock but without root.
To recap, you're King if you have an unlocked bootloader, plus you're phone is already sim-unlocked (can't unlock bootloader without sim unlock). Happy flashing and someone correct me kindly please if any of the above is wrong/misleading.

Ok so i've spent the past few days flashing different roms. When i flashed a stock t-mobile rom, in the settings under unlock status it says my phone is permanently unlocked but I cannot use a sim, it has no signal and I cannot send or receive calls. Do you think this is a hardware problem or it just isn't compatible with my carrier? Im from jamaica and I use a network called flow.

I found the following guide but am afraid to use it because its lower version 10.0.13-GLOBAL-OnePlus7T

Hey would backup my data if I were you. Then run the unbrick tool, I could give you the link on XDA forums but I'll need to go look for it in my documentation. But easier way is to go to the https://onepluscommunityserver.com/ download the following unbrick tool.
Click on Unbrick Tools

Select OnePlus 7T
Click on T-Mobile HD63CB/
Click on Q (Know you want to stay on R, but you can upgrade from Q to R once you've converted from T-mobile to Global Firmware)
In my experience OnePlus 7T T-Mobile OxygenOS 10.0.3.zip works.
Once you've reset your phone Android 10, you can now do the T-mobile to Global Firmware conversion. I'm assuming you have used the MSM tools previously. If you need any help about that please let me know. Done that quite a few times now. I prefer the last step on Manjaro Linux as I don't have to worry about the drivers for the ADB interface. But I get the idea you have that sorted out. BTW my OnePlus 7T runs OxygenOS 11.0.9.1.HD65AA. I'm not locking the bootloader as I do root it and use it for Kali Nethunter from time to time.

Have you tried reset network settings? Should be a place to do that in settings. It'll also drop things like paired bluetooth devices and saved networks.

I haven't tried that, but I've flashed so many roms and factory reset so many times it probably won't have any effect. I eventually will try it again and I will keep that in mind. Thank you for the reply though.
I also have HD1907 T Mobile Version of Op7T.
It had global version installed when I bought it (Used device)
It was bootloader unlocked but when I flashed original t mobile rom using msm tool, bootloader got locked as well and I had to apply for bootloader unlock code from Oneplus and wait for 7 days.
Then, after unlocking bootloader again, I tried flashing global fastboot rom. It was unsuccessful and phone was almost bricked
Got errors like 'cannot write to critical partition'
Again had to flash stock t mobile rom after much difficulty.

I'll need to have a look, but think after the first reboot if you reboot into Fastboot and not FastbootD you'd get those problems. Certain .img files only flash in FastbootD. Lol bricked this phone multiple times, but the MSM Tool and EDL is a life saver.

I've been able to use the guide below twice on seperate locked TMO 7ts, and in the end LineagOS from here.
[GUIDE][WIP]T-Mobile Brand Conversion to Rooted Global Firmware
First, let me say that this is only an attempt to pull this information out from a lot of different threads that require a bunch of research and a lot of institutional knowledge of Android. The idea of this thread is going from 100% T-Mobile...
forum.xda-developers.com
I'm pretty sure I recall that you need to flash the global 7t rom (not the TMO version) IF you intend to flash anything but the TMO stock rom. In other words, don't go from TMO stock firmware to say the pixel experience. So if your bootloader is unlocked, go grab one of the global ROMs (10 or 11), flash that, then factory reset your phone. Your device should report HD1905 in settings as the variant (non-tmo).
I suspect if you're having trouble with multiple roms, you just need to wipe data/cache, then use the link above to flash the global, then factory reset again just to be sure no tmo footprints are left behind. Verify HD1905 is your phone variant, then flash away with whatever you desire. And after that, it wouldn't hurt to factory reset again.
I wouldn't think Jamaica would be a problem, but I truely don't know, maybe someone else here could comment?

I use the following thread's steps to convert my T-mobile to Global. It also allows for dual sim. Haven't tried the OnePlus 7T with a sim card. It'll still show HD1907, but firmware will show HD65AA instead of HD63CB.

I'm on crDroid after flashing the global 10.0.13 then locally updating to the latest version. The phone is recognized as HD1905 still. when you flash your phone you're able to use any sim with no problem?

no OEM Unlock toggle in dev options

as stated in the title on my s20 plus (SM-G968W) there is no toggle for OEM Unlock, its been a long time since ive tried to root and from what ive been able to pick up from googling is it may not be supported for my country or cpu manufacturer. ive tried the change date and time trick that every guide suggested and it did nothing.

What is your baseband version?
If I recall correctly, you must be on v1 bootloader (pre Mar 2021 security update) in order to be able to unlock.
See this thread on how to unlock the bootloader (paid service):

i cant downgrade to the original bootloader?
I do not believe that it will allow you to downgrade from A13 to A11. You could try and flash G986WVLU1CTLB (A11) via the patched Odin, but no guarantees. It may also wipe your phone, so make sure that you backup before you try.

can i downgrade without tripping knox

hey everyone i recently got a new alaxy a70 and i dont want to trip knox but i want android 9 on it i have checked and there was no bootloader update so can i just flash the files with odin without unlocking bootloader and will this keep knox untripped
As long as you're flashing official firmware, you shouldn't trip Knox. I could be wrong.
If the bootloader version hasn't changed, you should be able to downgrade. You cannot however downgrade the bootloader, so if it was, say, version 3 on Android 9 but was updated to version 4 on Android 10/11, you wouldn't be able to downgrade.

You should be fine then.
I can't say for 100% that this won't trip Knox, but my understanding of KG/Vaultkeeper is that only custom or modified images will trip it. Since you're flashing official signed firmware, I don't think there would be a problem.

Unlocking the bootloader does not trip Knox.
Flashing custom or modified firmware does. So, if you unlock the bootloader, but only use pristine OEM firmware and never root the device or flash TWRP or a custom ROM, Knox should remain 0x0

No problem.
I think the confusion comes from the fact that unlocking the bootloader means that security sensitive features won't work. SafetyNet (now Play Integrity) fails, and so do apps that depend on Knox security features, even though Knox hasn't been tripped.
The following should help clarify this:
Locked bootloader, OEM firmware: Knox 0x0, integrity guaranteed
Unlocked bootloader, unmodified OEM firmware: Knox 0x0, integrity NOT guaranteed
Relocked bootloader on OEM firmware as long as no modified image was ever flashed: Knox 0x0, integrity guaranteed
Unlocked bootloader, modified firmware (This means ANY modification, be it Magisk patch, custom recovery, custom ROM, etc): Knox 0x1, integrity NOT guaranteed (but can be fixed in Magisk)
Relocked bootloader, OEM firmware after Knox tripped: Knox 0x1, integrity guaranteed (Samsung apps might not work, Play Integrity dependent apps should)

Nope, Knox trip is basically an e-fuse - once tripped it is permanent and cannot be reversed.

It's realy a matter of opinion, I think.
I prefer to have my bootloader unlocked so that I can flash whatever I want. I don't use Samsung security features so I don't care about Knox, and I'm able to use other means to pass Play Integrity so I can use Wallet and banking apps.
I personally wouldn't use a Samsung as my daily driver due to the Knox factor, but that's just me. I like my Pixel because I can do whatever I want with it, and should I ever decide that I want to unroot and return to bone stock, I can do that without having any permanent repercussions.
From a technical standpoint, locking the bootloader just means that only official signed binaries will load. This also restores hardware backed attestation allowing for STRONG integrity result in Play Integrity...as useless as that is

FRP has nothing to do with Knox. There is no point in unlocking your bootloader if you aren't going to root or flash custom firmware.
Knox will trip if you flash ANYTHING other than original unmodified firmware. This includes Magisk patched images and custom recovery.
The main effect of tripping Knox is that your warranty will no longer be valid. If you're already outside the 1 year warranty period, it doesn't matter anyway. There is the possibility that some Samsung specific services and apps may not work correctly but from what I've been reading most of them still work even with Knox 0x1.
