Problem with Fastboot [root] Alldocube iPlay30 Android10 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello, I'm trying to root an Android 10 Alldocube tablet iPlay30.
I'm using this guide: https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-alldocube-iplay-30-magisk/
And so trying to unlock the booloader (using Win10) using ABD and Fastboot.
In the command prompt I write: "adb devices"
and win10 recognises the tablet. ok
I write: "adb reboot bootloader"
and ok the tablet reboots in FASBOOT mode
But then if in the command prompt I write: "fastboot devices"
The cursor wraps and nothing happens
If I write: "fastboot flashing unlock"
It appears the writing "<waiting for any device>" and nothing happens
Any help? Thank you!

Don't you try this link to configure the USB in FASBOOT mode, good luck. https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/46142/fastboot-doesnt-see-device/87392#:~:text=Reboot device into fastboot mode, unrecognized device in the list

Thank you! I succeeded in unlocking the bootloader. Unfortunately when I put the patched (from Magisk) boot.img in the Rom file on the PC, and select the scatter.txt, Flash Tool says there is a checksum issue.
Any suggestion please? Thank you!

Can you tried this link from UMIDIGI. It is used ADB and FastBoot commands to install patched (from Magisk) boot.img for Android 10:

Unfortunately it doesn't work
I suppose there is a problem with Magisk.
The last Magisk apk seems to generate correctly a file starting from the original boot.img and it calls it "magisk_patched_1HqYW.img"
So if I put it in the original ROM folder and then flash the boot with SP Flash Tool, it seems to go all ok, but the tablet isn't rooted.
If I use to flash it with ADB, it flashes the magisk file correctly ... but then the tablet is bricked. It doesn't boot and goes on and off in loop with the first image only.
Fortunately, flashing the complete original ROM with SP Flash Tool, it returns ok to factory status....
The bootloader is still unlocked but no way to root the device. I suppose, I repeat, for a wrong img file from Magisk.
Any solution? Magisk is the last version. So Magisk Manager 8.0.4
I see it's very different from the other past versions (from tutorial I can find around, I mean)
If someone knows also of other Alldocube tablets rooted recently, it could be good.
The iPlay 20 for example (with windows, not linux)
Thank you!

Cause the Android 10 firmware, it is verified all module flash to it, so if you use SP Flash Tool the stock boot.img will replace your patched-boot.img upon reboot. So it need to flash the module files by ADB/Fastboot to disable-verity when it has been flashed. Those commands work well when I use them to root my Umidigi A9 pro Android 10.

[ROOT] [MAGISK] How to root

Just wanted to inform you, that rooting with Magisk works like a charm. Even without TWRP.
What you need:
Magisk Manager: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
boot.img from your ROM (prepatched boot.img for CN_V10.0.11.0 ROM here: https://filebase.philipp.technology/filebase/index.php?page=Entry&entryID=19)
Unlocked Bootloader
ADB and Fastboot on your PC (Simple ADB & Fastboot Installer: https://filebase.philipp.technology/filebase/index.php?page=Entry&entryID=5)
Installation:
Install MagiskManager.apk on your Smartphone
---SKIP IF YOU USE THE PREPATCHED BOOT.IMG---
Put the unpatched boot.img on your phone
Open MagiskManager and Click "Install"
Select "Patch boot.img" and choose the boot.img with your file manager
Copy the "patched_boot.img" file on your PC
---CONTINUE HERE---
Now connect your Mix 3 to the PC and boot in fastboot mode (over the command line: adb reboot bootloader)
Navigate with the command line to your folder, where you saved the patched_boot.img
Now flash the patched_boot.img file with fastboot: fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
If the flash is successfull you can reboot the phone with fastboot reboot
Open the MagiskManager and verify that Magisk is installed and your phone is rooted.
Thanks so much! Will try this out! Nice work!
Thanks, after i root my mix 3 can i flash the xiaomi.eu rom on it too without problems ?
Normally you don't need root to flash Xiaomi.eu ROM, just TWRP. But there is no TWRP yet. You could try "Flash Fire", but I don't know if it would work. Never did that before. If you try it make sure, that you have USB Debugging enabled and know how to use common tools like MiFlash etc.
If you are unexperienced wait for TWRP.

Hi PJF16
How did you get the boot.img from your device without root? I'd love to make a unmodified copy before trying this out
I got it from the fastboot ROM which I also uploaded to the forum. See here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-3/development/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-fastboot-roms-t3869532

Not working on 8.11.15 dev china rom...
Patched boot is much smaller than it should be and after flashing and fastboot reboot command, phone goes back to fastboot mode
It's normal that the patched boot.img is smaller.

But this is quite smaller than usual and, anyway, it doesn't boot after flashing
Anyone have any issues with v4A magisk module? After I flashed it I lost the ability to turn on wifi. Wondering if anyone else has had that issue.

Question Need help rooting the Poco F3

Hello fellow XDA'ers
I have waited and unlocked the phone, running the MIUI 12.5.1.0 (RKHEUXM) the EU Official Rom that came with the phone, and was following the guide on how to root from NaldoTech, but i'm stuck, magisk can't patch any Firmware file i throw at it...
Don't know what i am doing wrong, i opened the zip files manually looking for the boot.img file but i cant seem to find it in any of the Firmwares i download from XiaomiFirmwareUpdater.
Also tried downloading the rom file and extracting the contents using the xiaomi-flashable-firmware-creator, but no luck with that either, throws some permission error at extracting the payload.bin
what can i do from here??
thanks in advance
Easy peasy
Steps
Download Adb and fastboot tool.
Or just download TWRP image and start CMD from there "the folder containing the twrp img" (in destination bar type cmd and press Enter) /the drivers should be installed and working properly ofc.
1- set phone in fastboot mode then plug it in to PC
2- Type: fastboot boot twrp.img (twrp here is the img file)
Then the phone will boot into twrp.
The phone will be shown in PC. Paste Magisk in the phone. Then go back and flash it using TWRP. Then reboot to system. And you're all done.

You're doing something wrong then.
Check all drivers are set up properly. Try flashing twrp then boot to it using Volume UP + Power button.
Make sure you download Nebrassy's twrp 3.5.10
Managed to do it, not with twrp tho, the way i intended originally, i found this payload extractor, went on miui and download latest package (on the phone), after that sent the file to pc and extracted the contents to the payload extractor tool, follow the tool's guide and Tadaaaa! got yoursef a boot.img.
after that was simple and follow the rest of the NaldoTech guide, which is sending the boot.img to phone, open magisk manager, click install, select the boot image to pach, wait couple seconds and done. After that just copy the magisk patched boot image to pc and turn off your phone, enter fastboot, and flash the boot.img in boot_a and boot_b.
and you are done boot the phone and open magisk app to see the installed confirmation

How to root a OnePlus 7T Pro with Magisk, For Noobs!

In this guide, ill be showing you how to root your device using Magisk. This is done at your own risk, i am not responsible for corrupted images, bricked devices etc.
*NOTE: This guide is for the OnePlus 7T Pro only*
What you will need:
A windows PC - idk buy one lol?
Platform tools SDK - https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
USB cable that came with the phone
Magisk Manager APK - https://magiskapp.com/apk/
Your phones current software boot.img! You can either get this from the vendors website, or if you are running a custom OS, you should already have the file.
*Ill be assuming you are familiar with cmd, fastboot commands, and that your bootloader is already unlocked, and you are running a custom recovery! For a guide on how to do the last two things, part of my last guide can help you - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-install-android-12-derpfest-for-noobs.4385171/ *
Step 1: Download the magisk apk from the website and install it to your device. After this, copy over the boot.img file that is from your current rom into the downloads folder of your phone! Now, open up magisk manager, and press install beside the 'Magisk' Section on the home screen. Then press 'Select and Patch a FIle'. Now you can select the boot.img file and let Magisk do its thing.
Step 2: Once that process has been completed, you should have a file beginning with 'magisk_patched....img' in your downloads folder. Copy that file over to the platform tools folder in your computer. Now boot your phone into fastboot mode and connect it to your computer. Then on your computer, go to where you placed the magisk_patched file and in the search bar in file explorer type cmd. This should open a cmd window. Then type 'fastboot reboot fastboot' in order to enter your phone into fastbootd mode.
Step 3: Type 'fastboot flash boot 'PATH TO MAGISK_PATCHED FILE'
Let this run and once its done, reboot your phone.
Go to Magisk and Voila you should be rooted!
If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask!
If i have made any mistakes in this guide, or you guys think i should make any changes, let me know, im new to this!
Thnx for the post , and confirming that this worked perfectly with OP7T PRO Android 11 official ROM
Do I assume correctly that I would wipe everything?

Hello, up to step 3 everything was fine. I let it run its thing, and reboot, BUT it became stuck in fastboot, forever. What can I do? I tried to wipe data and everything, but it's still stuck. Is there anything I can do?
Okay, so I manage to get my phone unbricked and is now running TWRP, which it was not before doing this. Am I correct to assume that doing all this without TWRP breaks the phone?

Hi, do you have a tutorial on how to root this device? I have tried using Magisk but it does not work at all. The patched boot.img flashes successfully but nothing happens after reboot. Nothing is installed at all and the system is exactly the same as before. My bootloader is unlocked. Booting directly using the patched boot.img does nothing as well. It is as if nothing has been flashed at all.
Edit: I found a solution. You have to use init_boot.img instead of boot.img.

Yeah, I've managed to get it working on 14.0.10.0.TMBCNXM. The only module I've tested is Universal SafetyNet Fix which is working. Google Play showing certified. Updating can be done without a PC as well. I first installed on 14.0.8.0, then installed 14.0.10.0 from the device updater itself. Before rebooting, simply go to Magisk and select the option to install to inactive slot. Reboot and you have Magisk working on the new version.

Understood,You have to use init_boot.img instead of boot.img.
Common tutorial
1. Find or redownload the TGZ file for your current ROM or other rom.
2. Browse inside the zip file and find boot.img under the images folder
3. Copy this file to a temporary location in your PC first, and then transfer it to your phone
4. Install the desired version of Magisk app (V23?)
5. Run the app and choose Install under Magisk
6. Choose Select and Patch a File, then select the boot.img that was transferred earlier
7. A process will run and create a new .img file in the same folder where the original one was
8. Transfer the new file to your PC in the same directory where fastboot.exe is located
9. Open a command prompt window in that same directory
10. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode and connect to PC, USB2.0 port. Check for connection by running command fastboot devices.
11. Run the command fastboot flash boot_ab magiskXXXX.img
Once it's completed, run command fastboot reboot and the phone should boot and be rooted.

I guess it is in the Fastboot rom or a command and root for what no rom or twrp currently available.
If it is to delete apps there are many tools or with ADB commands.

This is the guide. It's basically the standard method but you patch init_boot.img instead of boot.img. Both can be extracted from the fastboot firmware.

Yeah, as I mentioned above, boot.img does not work; you have to use init_boot.img which has a size of exactly 8 MiB. If it does not have this size, you've got the wrong file. It probably has to do with the boot method used by the device as described here. The flashing command must also use init_boot_ab instead of boot_ab.
Guys i was in the same boat.
I have successfully root Mi 13 Pro, but i have another issue if anyone can help. Mi Wallet keeps changing as default payment method even though i have GPay selected.

Is it a must to include the "_ab" part in the command?

Question Devices not detected after install Fastboot ROM

I try to install fastboot rom with MiFlashTool, this is my FastbootROM nabu_global_images_V14.0.3.0.TKXMIXM_20230306.0000.00_13.0_global_80c69df295.tgz
After i flash with MiFlashTool, the process is never end, but my Mi Pad 5 restarting without any reason in middle of flashing, but the process keep going, then i close the MiFlashTool, after that i try to fastboot devices in my platform tools directory, now my Mi Pad completely undetected in my PC, also in MiFlashTool now not detected
I can still open Recovery and Fastboot mode, but in Fastboot mode i cant do anything because my PC cant detect my devices, also i try with my other PC but still not detected, maybe the main reason this happend is because i terminate the MiFlashTool during process because i saw my Mi Pad restarting, any help for this issue ?

It indicates that your bootloader is still full functional. Otherwise recovery wouldn't boot anymore.
- Windows device manager shows what?
- output of 'fastboot devices'?

i downloaded your suggested app, but there is no Xiaomi Pad 5 in device list, and my downloaded recovery rom is zip, i just cant find tool for flash zip in fastboot sir
Your download is only a recovery ROM and not the full fastboot ROM. Full fastboot ROM:
MiPad 5 – MIUI Download Xiaomi Official ROM
Ok, a recovery zip is only flashable in a recovery. It's like any other flashable zip for TWRP, i.e. a Magisk installer zip or sth else. These zips need a shell to execute their commands. Fastboot is only for flashing single images via cmd line on your PC.
Download the full fastboot ROM. It's a *.tgz-archive that needs to be unpacked for the Mi Flash Tool (v2).

Install the Magisk app, extract the boot.img from inside your firmware and patch it with Magisk. Then flash the patched boot.img with fastboot flash boot "your patched image" and start your device.
