Shaky 24fps stabilized VIDEO PRO mode bug - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Guides, News, & Discussion

I have just bumped on a nasty bug on Galaxy S20 FE 5G.
I can reproduce it on two devices with January 2021 firmware.
When record video in PRO VIDEO mode in 24fps and video stabilization is turned on I got shaky useless video.
When video stabilization is turned off recorded video looks good.
I would be very thankful if anyone can try to reproduce the bug and report it here. Two conditions should be met: 24fps and video stabilization: ON
Thanks in advance for help

This is the shaky/jumping effect

Cannot reproduce in either FHD or 4K resolution 24fps. December 2020 firmware (Android 10).

Thanks for your reply. This may give us a clue that it's a regression bug introduced with latest (January) update.
BTW did you turned on Video stabilization (EIS)? Jittering occurs only when it's being turned on.

Must be. Any idea why I can't get Android 11 yet? Unlocked on the Telstra network, Australia. I got the previous updates pretty fast, but the last update I received December 11.

What is your Fw version you have? UA4?

UA5

Troubles with video recording on CyanogenMod 11

Hi! I noticed that I can't record videos since I installed cyanogenmod 11 on my galaxy nexus... I currently have the M8 snapshot version, but sometimes, when I stop video recording the camera app crashes. I made a screenshot of the exception stack trace, can anybody tell me how to fix it (if it is possible)?

I have the same issue, I also noticed that, while from the phone I can play the recorded videos fine, from my computer these are corrupt and I can't play them in any way. I tried to change the codec and resolution but nothing has changed
Can you check if it happens to you too?
Yep, happens to me too

Unfortunately it's a bug in M8. Here's the commit that fixes it:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/67495/
The fix is in the latest nightly, 07-11.
I will give it a try, I'll edit as soon as I install it, for now thanks!
[EDIT]
Currently on CyanogenMod 11 140712 nightly, seems that the bug is fixed... I've been doing some videos without problems

All thanks goes to someone who discovered this.

Can confirm it does work and the settings are actually different. The AMOLED settings are more vibrant then the NATURAL settings, but not as vibrant as VIVID
Thanks for sharing! I don't get why Samsung would want to hide this setting...

Mind sharing the sub reddit link from where you got that?
The phone automatically switches modes like when viewing a movie, right?
Or not? Or is it there for 3rd party apps to utilize?
If not set to natural though it blows the saturation through the roof for pictures. Couldn't see setting it to vivid or cinema all the time.
Color calibration/throughput has always been a huge issue with Androids... still is.

Question Help: Issues related to playing videos in apps (Photos, Netflix, Instagram)

My newly received device with Android 12 is having problems related to playing videos in the Google Photos app, on Instagram, on Netflix, when opening any of these apps the video does not play automatically as expected, instead the photo remains of thumb without any video playback, after scrolling up or down the video plays intermittently and with weird stops.
Please does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?
Below I got more detail via logcat when opening a video and trying to play:

Question Best A52S firmware so far? Any recommendation for firmware update?

I still have Android 12 April 2022 firmware on my A52s and from what I'm reading the newer Android 13 updates are quite experimental that come with a lot pros and cons, is any firmware worth updating or should I keep my old one? Perhaps waiting a few months until a better solution comes out? What's your opinion on this? Thanks in advance

What is experimental with Android 13? It works almost flawlessly on my A52s, waiting for One UI 5.1 right now. Everything stock, everything works. Don't even feel the need to debloat.
Camera performance during video is choppy (like 10fps during preview, standard 30fps during playback).
Fingerprint sensor does not turn off the blue light filter sometimes and thus does not always work.
I have clean flashed Android 13 (after OTA updated caused the same issues) but it did not help with the fingerprint issue. The camera issue was gone for a while but it came back.
What do you think of this result so far?
