Moto G Power Android 11 on its way!! - Moto G Power Guides, News, & Discussion

Just a glimmer of hope for you guys. I got the Android 11 update yesterday. I am part of the MFN, and was picked as part of the soak test. Android 11 definitely brings out the G power's potential. Very smooth and fast. I feel like battery life has improved also.

Hi, ice711.
I have a question, on Android 11 the gestures works with the ThirdParty Launchers? Like Nova Launcher.
Can you try some launcher to test that?

can you share your serial number to use tool from erfan abdi? https://motoota.lolinet.com/

No thanks to these updates, always eating 1gb of ram more... I have no difference in free memory going from a 3GB Ram Moto G7 Power Android 9.0 to a Moto G Power 2020 4GB Ram Android 10 because of it hogging more memory.

I'm sorry I can't do that.

There are reports by both XDA and phonearena.com that Moto G stylus (2020), which is basically G power (2020) with better specs has just received Android 11 and Feb security patches update. If the news are true, will that mean G power is next? https://www.phonearena.com/news/motorola-moto-g-stylus-android-11-update_id131640; https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-m40-tab-active-3-a31-moto-g-stylus-2020-android-11/

Yesterday i recieved the update, in general, android 11 response well enough but i have some issues, first, the internal video recorder, does not record any sound, neither microphone, or internal audio, 2. some games stop working, well, some homebrew stope working like freedoom, and the reboot, power off menu is just horrible, hope they fix at least the screen record issue

So how do you guys like it has it lived up to your expectations? I'm still using Android 10 custom rom. Was there maybe a radio update that could universal?

I eventually grab R ROM for mine and flashed manually used the guide found in this section
September 2021 patch
I regained root after updated to R and I didn't have to wipe
So far so good and it's smooth

Android is Linux - Linux will swallow up all the RAM it can and often will not free it; it will spread it around as it sees fit. Let it. The two os's you mention - android 9, android 10; it's likely they are using RAM differently. I dunno, I didn't look it up, but it's likely true.

Are Android Nougat 7.0 custom roms impossible for our devices?

Is this more of thing for OEM companies not going to update their snapdragon 800/801 to nougat (not that I would expect any of these older devices with this soc to get updated anyway), or is this something that any developer won't be able to get around?
Supposedly those using CM13 are already stuck at KitKat level Drivers. Or at least that's what I've been told in a different Thread. So the imedimmediate thought is that it might be possible to get 'round it, in a similar fashion. But, I gather it's still not fully known just what kinda hit the Device would take, given the lack of unoptimized Drivers.
AFAIK: Qualcomm have had their hands tied as the MSM8974 (i.e. Snapdragon 800), does not, and will never support the Vulkan API, which is now being fully enforced by Google as the baseline for Nougat compatibility. Since this is more of a MSM8974 thing, and not an OEM thing, there will be a lot of unhappy people with far better supported Devices then ours. Who will be left in the cold by this decision.
But, it's early days yet, and I'm not even sure how far Cyanogen has even gotten with it?
Honestly I wouldn't even expect anything from them too the early days of 2017 at the earliest.

Camera and bluetooth are not working, everything else seems fine.

Have you tested camera with Google Camera or Open Camera? I've seen other CM14 ROMs where camera only worked with one of those camera applications.

[NEWS] No more updates for LG K10

[*HEARTBROKEN*]
According to customer care of LG, there would'nt be any updates for MS428 (T-Mobile). I think I can conclude no Nougat for K10?!

Sad, but it makes sense..
Since they're going to release a new k10 with nougat pre-installed in it, my guess is that they will do this to all upcoming midrange particularly those with mediatek chips..
They're gonna refresh the old model with little hardware upgrade (as an excuse to the customers) and with the latest OS. then make the first gen. Users (like us) feel like abandoned and make us BUY for an upgrade...
I doubt we'd get the vulkan API since it doesn't support our chip anyway, if ever they decide to give an OS upgrade that is.
I'm really disappointed with this, as this is my first (and last) LG phone.. on the other hand, I'm glad that this happened because I was planning to get a flag ship from them but instead got k10 just to see how they handle mid range.. I'm going back to xperia, at least, Sony is better with updates (I used to have Z1)
It's crap anyway. My wife came home with one the other day after being talked into it at her local phone shop and it's the 2017 version with Nougat. The homescreens are locked down. Either all apps spread across 3 or 4 screens with no app drawer, 2 home screens with an app drawer with no way to add more screens or A Home launcher where you can add up to 4 screens I think.
Also no chromecast screen mirroring built in. It's a damn part of the O/S I thought! It is on All my Moto marshmallow and nougat devices anyway. The only casting option on the K10 are if the app you're using like youtube have a cast option.

You call it crap because you don't like launcher, for God's sake just install another one from store.
About cast, I think that feature is available in stock Android that's why you have it on Motorola, and LG ux is not stock, if they have Chromecast it's available only on flagships, this is why these phones are called mid-range, however it should be possible to overcome this with some apps from store.
I wouldn't be surprised if they won't be issuing a Nougat update for either the Qualcomm or Mediatek variants, given how the 2017 edition has taken its place.
Yet they DID release Nougat for the T-Mobile, AT&T, and MetroPCS variants of this phone.

Well they suck too. Battery (after performing a factory reset) is worse, and it feels like the OS is using more CPU than before.

A new ROM for my Lg G3 in order to avoid system lag?

Hi,
I have been experiencing general lag and microlag issues and a slight battery drain (whatever app/ stock home screen launcher) with my Lg G3 D855, 32GB, 3GB RAM, OS: 5.0, Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g7337331, software version V21a-EUR-XX, since 1 year and an half.
I bought the smarthpone on August 2015, I replaced the battery 5 months ago (Battery drain persisted).
Less than 20 apps installed (google and other stock apps excluded), 28% internal storage used, 90% external storage used.
Lag and microlag occurs always, "hard reset" never fixed the problem.
My desidered setup requires:
- no Lag and microlag (my first priority)
- no battery drain
- good network coverage and fast switching network tecnology (I live in Italy)
What ROM would you suggest?
It would be my first time with non-stock LG ROM.
Thank you a lot for your time.
Well, first things first. If you want a nearly lag-free experience you might need to do both hardware and software mods to your phone. Hardware mods include opening your phone and putting a (prefferably, to avoid the possibility of hardware problems) 1mm thick thermal pad on the ram chip and a 0.5mm pad on the ssd.
Secondly, AOSP roms are usually the smoothest. You can go for Marshmallow, in which case CM13 is something I'd try first. Pair it with a good kernel such as Gamma kernel (for extra smoothness), use v50 if latest one causes issues. I hear Nebula 2e is good too. It packs a lot of overclock so don't use that without the thermal mod if you want to use overclock. Nougat roms work great too. Lineage OS should serve you well but I have found that Xenon HD is among the smoothest, for Nougat I also recommend Gamma kernel, unless you want to use Pixel-G3 (which works great btw). It's really up to you as all roms have their pros and cons. Also, with any rom, don't fill up the internal memory above about 50% if you want max performance out of that. Wiping internal storage before install is also recommended so backup everything before doing any of this.
Don't expect to find your perfect rom at first flash
Im on fulmics 7.6 with exceed kernel, restricted 2cores to 1900mhz, undervolt -75mv.
First, get rid of facebook and messenger apps, use the lite versions. Thats all i did and the phone is smooth even with 2gigs of ram. Runs cool and i get over 6hrs screen with 50% or less brightness.
Also, put the apps on internal memory, sd te ds to be way slower.
The screenshots are from my current use, (tapatalk, chrome, fb) ambient temp is like 18c. Screen was mostly at 10% brightness.

Anyone still using Nextbit Robin, what issues do you experience?

For any active Nextbit Robin users running the latest LineageOS (any other up-to-date Android distribution is welcome too), what issues are you experiencing with your device?
Any random freezes or reboots?
Little less activity here so I decided to write. It's not my daily driver, rather its my backup. I'm using /e/ Foundation on it and it's great! Obviously the battery is deteriorating, but for its uses (emergencies), its doing great. Hopefully, whoever is still out there using this device, its going great as well! Looking like its a solid EOL from its developers as well.

You made me turn it on once again. My battery is still in a bad state, but for a few minutes I got to re-live memories I had with this phone.
Running the stock ROM, last update
Happy to see some people still use their Robin from time to time !

Stock ROM! damn! With the slim chance we get Android 12 from developers, this device has lived its life!
Yep, still use them. I solved the problem with battery from powerbank. I'm using unofficial pixel exp os on 9 android, but it's very laggy and throttly phone.

Hello. I continue to use the Nextbit Robin in 2022 and 2023. I managed to completely restore 3 smartphones out of 4. Everything has been restored to perfect condition. I also printed out a full copy of the conceptual case "in holes-grid" using the original drawings. It seems there were once sold on Ozone. At the moment I have mint and midnight at my disposal
What is included in the package:
-Original box
-Documentation
-Original, mint, flat charging cable
-The key for the SIM card
-Protective film for the display
-Improved battery, high capacity
-New Display
-Improved fast charging device
-New case
-Android 11 or 9
Rom :
Lineage 11 Mokee 11 Pixel 9
For my part I'm using robin nexbit with last lineage os ROM possible cause now no more update out the device seems to be too old to get a newer lineageos rom
The sharp corners and stiff edges still provide just as challenging of a buttplug alternative as the day I first keistered it.

same , uk, vodafone but android 10 still
I got the update a few days ago, and right after the update my phone was feeling kinda sluggish tbh, but now it seems much more consistent. Ui is fluent, ram management is alright thus in my eyes emui 11 was slightly more responsive. Battery life is the same for me.
Is it only me or every emui version update feels like rubbish...battery life got worse, performance too...plus changes in UI,which seems to be made by someone using just half of a brain...
Don't get me wrong,I truly was a Huawei enthusiasist, but they care less and less for customers, their updates are not makin user experience better, they do the exact opposite..
Downgrading to emui 11 asap and I'm sad to say that but this is my last Huawei phone...From #1 to the bottom, that's what they doin
Emui 12.0.0 --- Speaker went very very quiet, almost inaudible. Reset... same. Anyone else?
Yes, I would

Yes, I would also like to "downgrade". With emui 11, fully charged, go to sleep, wake up after 8 hours... 1-2% battery loss. With emui 12, maybe 4-6% battery loss. I do not like it.

Indeed... and then disable upgrades... but, I think, it needs a Huawei ID which I am not very keen to make. I will see...
Worth the the upgrade?
Hello guys, smart charge is not working! is this a bug on emui 12 !?
I was thinking of updating my mother p30 to EMUI 12 but I had installed the official call recorder (EU phone so it is disabled by default). From posts about other huawei model it seems that emui 12 require a new recorder that also seems to produce the recording alert signal for the other person. Anyone can confirm? Anyone that updated had the recorder intalled?
