Is there a possibility for a custom ROM for KFGIWI (Fire HD 8 2016) with new SP Flash exploit? - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Android Development

Just saw this article recently:
It's now easy to bypass MediaTek's SP Flash Tool authentication (xda-developers.com)
It lists the MT8163 as being compatible. Would this exploit be possible on this model?

Lineage OS on Matepad PRO WIFI

Hello!
I'm new to modifying anything on any device.
I'm wondering is it possible to install Lineage OS or any custom OS on Matepad Pro? If so do you have any suitable tutorials for this purpose?
Need I root the device first in order to install custom os?
Cheers
Hi
At the moment the only thing you can do is to install Google Services with googlefier. For this you need to downgrade your MatePad to version 10.1.0.120. After downgrading you can install all the google services.
Googlefier lets you easily install Google apps on Huawei and Honor devices (xda-developers.com)
To install custom Roms you need to unlock the bootloader which not possible for now. I also thought about brute force the unlock code from the bootloader. But sadly, the needed commands aren't available.
MatePad Pro supports Project treble. You possibly can install GSI Roms. But as said above, without unlocking we can't to anything..

After running Googlefier, does Gapps stick if you allow Huawei FW updates?

Mediapad M2-A01W Custom Rom

In 2016 I bought a Huawei Mediapad M2-A01W 10". The last update was from 2018 (B010).
Now I'm looking for a custom rom - but I could not find any.
The bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed already.
Has anyone got open sourcecode from Huawei for the Mediapad M2-A01W? It would be helpful to know if it is possible.
Hi,
Have you had any success searching for a custom rom?
I am also looking for a TWRP image for the m2-a01w.
Thanks
Hi rotter99,
obviously there is no one who can create a custom rom for the m2-a01w.
You can search for "TWRP-3.1.0-recovery-MediaPadM2-10.0-LISZT-A01L-A01W.img" to install a TWRP image - but you have to unlock your m2 before doing so.

I don't recommend using LMSA, it can flash wrong firmware
This thread is wrong for various reasons
1. This is the Moto E 2020 not 2021
2. It links to my lineage builds instead of the Stock Firmware mentioned in the title
3. I've had reports LMSA wrongly identifying this device and bricking it, which is why it is recommended to just use fastboot. LMSA is also a very buggy piece of software...

Maybe this person wanted to get his post count higher or get likes, since he posted on a lot of Motorola devices about the Stock ROM, even if he does not own the device.

Question Change ROM from China to Global

Hello my friends,
I just bought the Chinese version of the IQOO 9 Pro, and I like it very much, but I have some issues with it which I didn't expect, like Google services doesn't update automatically, Android Auto doesn't work at all, part of the software is in Chinese and more..
So I decided I want to flash the global (or India) ROM, and as I understand it requires root access. So I know what it is and all the meanings of this, but I never rooted a phone and I'm afraid I don't know what to do, how to do it and mainly what to do after the device is rooted in order to flash the global ROM.
I saw some walkthroughs on the web, but I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for in my case.
for example, I saw this one: Vivo Iqoo 9 Pro PD2172F Firmware Flash File (Stock ROM Guide)
But I'm not sure if it will work on my Chinese phone (PD2172C).
Maybe this one is more relevant ?
How To Install Custom Rom On Vivo IQOO 9 Pro
I mean, can I treat the official global ROM as a "custom ROM" and use this method ?
Any help with what exactly I should do to change the ROM will be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Yea, yea .. first and foremost you have to unlock bootloader and after that you can istall global (India) ROM. You do not root the ROM. The simple problem is how to unlock the bootloader because Vivo does not permit to do it.

Trying to downgrade to Android 8 or preferably 7 with Odin

I have long tried to downgrade my phone SM-G955F to Android 8 or 7.
I have tried many different firmwares but they all seem to fail on installing the new bootloader. I can always recover back to Android 9 using a collection of files called AP_G955FXXUCDUD1_CL21427293_QB39365969_REV00_user_low_ship_meta_OS9.tar.md5
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a ROM running android 8 or 7 that I can root.
Essentially I do not care if it is stock rom as long as I can root the device. I have successfully rooted my devices running android 9 using magisk but the essence is that I need to run android 8 or 7 and being able to use google chrome as a browser.
Any help is much appreciated
Best regards,
Erik
I thought I might have answered my own question. So in order to help other in the same situation I will post my findings.
Looking at related posts on XDA Dev Forum I found the following article, that seem to fit my needs.

So I downloaded the zip file and unpacked it in hopes of finding files compatible with Odin. But they were not. So what I did was install my android 9 OS that I found that was working and then rooted it using TWRP and Magisk, which is quite simple.
Then I found this article:

Samsung has just recently launched the new Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. Both the devices are extremely powerful as they both have top of the line specs internally. The Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus, both are powered by the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 835 SoC and have 4GB of RAM. And […]

and tried following the steps mentioned.
But unfortunately it did not work. I will try and investigate further or try again without first wiping all the stuff that was mentioned in the guide

Hi,
1) Download the .zip file of the light ROM : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/s8-s8-nougat-01-jan-2020-v30-lightrom.3636154/
Then magisk.zip, search it on the internet.
2) Flash the ROM via a custom recovery
3) Then flash magisk.zip
4) Reboot
It will work for sure with Nougat or Oreo, with any Binary number.
You can downgrade with a custom ROM, not stock.
Lastly don't use Odin but a custom recovery !

Thank you so much!
I will try that. I had found an older phone lying around running stock Oreo, that I rooted.
