You can't. Only stock cam can produce full res images...Gcam and other 3rd party cams will only produce binned images. ie 16/4 mp = 4mp photos

portrait mode in GCam / Custom ROMs?

So I see everyone talking about the quality of video recording in GCam, HDR + etc. but I'm just curious how the rear camera portrait mode working in third party cameras and if it's working, is it actually utilizing both rear cameras?

No 3rd party camera can use the 2nd camera at the moment(doubt if they ever will), not even the modded GCam uses the depth sensor. It takes better portrait anyway using only one camera, better separation, though with a little less depth blur.

Does GCam requires camera 2 API? I heard that the stock camera crashes after enabling Camera 2 API.

The stock camera works fine after enabling camara2api. The problem is after enabling camera2 API, none of the cameras can focus during recording video, so that's an issue you'll have to deal with if you decide to enable it.
Still none of gcam mods which support for second depth camera?
I'm on RR so I can't use stock camera. It's not supporting

No. Only OP5 users can switch to tele lens.

Ok but, anyway, is 20mpx camera exploited by gcam to get better photo in some way or only the 16mpx cam is used in every situation so 20mpx is never "powered on"?

In OOS 20MP camera is used only in auto mode and portrait to detect depth. It shoots 20MP photo then magic OP software interpolate it to lower res to "improve quality and decrease noise" and then i don't know why, extrapolates that image back to 20MP. If i'm right it is written in camera HAL so we can't do nothing with it... Test it by Yourself, just type *#*#1597#*#* in dialer and take photo with "tele" and "wide" in sunny day.
I'm not sure 100% about it, correct me if i'm wrong.

Dialer? Why using dialer to take photo?
@rmroot You use dialer to input this code I wrote earlier. It opens camera app which now allows You to switch lenses manually.

Does 64MP works in third-party apps?

Hi,
Before buying i'm wondering if you're ale to take 64MP pictures on third party apps? I'm most interested in Open Camera. If yes, does Open Camera allows to shoot 64 MP in RAW format? Could someone with phone check it ?
Its totally normal....stock camera is build for this sensor
Yes, but stock app dosn't support RAW, but phone support camera 2 API, so i'm wondering if you can take 64MP RAW pictures on third party apps ?
Only gcam have 16mp raw on main camera. All others camera applications have same problem with raw, on main camera. "Failed to start camera preview."
Snap Camera HDR also capture RAW 16mp and jpeg 64mp with main cam.
The advantage of GCam is that when it does HDR, does it in JPEG and RAW also. On a Snap cam, when we turn on RAW it no longer capture HDR even it shows that it is on.
Something interesting with a Snap Camera, unlike a stock camera, a Snap Camera can produce an HDR image with 64mp jpeg, like as GCam 6 with 64.xml profile on portrait mode.

[Mi 10T Pro] 108 Mpx pictures: are they a real thing?

I would like to know whether 108 Mpx photos can actually be shot.
If so, with stock camera or what?
What about actual resolution?
TiA.
Yes you can in the stock camera app but the images are 4:1 pixel binned to 27mb.
Not sure I understand you ... Is the 108 Mpx camera capturing 108 Mpx ?
Just took a photo on the Xiaomi stock camera, 108 mode, and it's 108.6MP 9024x12032. So I seem to get 108MP ok.
If you take a photo in normal mode on the stock camera or us a GCam version then you get around 27MP.

I've just taken a non pro mode 108mp shot (Mi10T Pro) and it comes back as 9.08mb 9024x1232px
On pro mode it is 10.89mb 9024x12032px
In RAW i get 54.33mb 6016x4512mp
How are you getting 108mp shots that are not binned down?
To get 108MP: Xiaomi.EU 12.6, stock Xiaomi camera 4.3 on Mi10T Pro
On stock camera, select More then 108. 108M comes up above the shutter button and it takes 108MP pictures in .HEIC format.
One of my 108MP photos is 9.76MB in size and 9024x12032 pixels. Your file size seems about right. could you be missing one 0 in your pixel count (12032 vs 1232)?

Question What camera app allows 48MP RAW format on 9Pro?

The stock camera app with OOS 12 allows selection of 48 Megapixel JPG in regular photo mode with a button labelled "High", but the Hasselblad Pro mode needed to choose RAW or to use manual camera settings does not offer a control to choose 48MP.
Is there another camera app that supports 48MP in RAW on this phone? (I tried the GCAM port discussed in this forum and I get get 48MP at all with that.)
While I know 48MP is overkill for most phots, I find the 48MP JPG actually gets more readable text on a large poster full of small text taken in daylight, so I have a good use case for 48MP.
Thanks

RAW resolution is 12MP and no other app will help. In fact you can't even get unbinned (full res 48MP) jpegs in any 3rd party app
I know the 48MP JPEGs I can get with the stock camera app are unbinned because I see the results in small type on large format posters is clearly better than 12MP. I do see some JPEG artifacts and would like to get my hands on the 48MP unbinned RAW photos. Is there any way to do it? I have rooted the phone (for other reasons) if they can help in any way.
Can’t be done.

Already told you in the first part of the message - it CAN'T be done. And it's hilarious that you can have better results from upscaled GCam 12MP to 48MP than the stock 48MP shot.

You misread what I wrote. It its the STOCK 48MP shot that is giving me the best image of tiny text on posters and those truly appear NOT to be upscaled. I was just hoping to be able to get a RAW 48MP out of this phone.

No I didn't misread, I just told you stock is useless as you can very often get better results by upscaling 12MP from GCam than native 48MP from stock. That's how bad stock is due to aggressive processing
Here's a sample to check out. 12 to 48MP upscale in the GCam vs native 48MP stock. Pretty embarrassing for stock... But yeah 48MP RAW would be ideal.
