How To Guide How to reduce battery consumption on the Poco F3 - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello guys, I want to tell you the adjustments that I have made to my Poco F3 and that have improved the battery consumption.
For those who have a very high battery consumption in principle with the Poco F3 inactive, I recommend doing this before starting step 1:
Reinstall the rom again, we go to Settings / About the phone / Miui version, where the number 12 is, we press and at the top in the 3 points we download the last package, which is the one we have, we reinstall it and we start with step 1 .
I would be grateful if you could comment on how things went with them. Greetings.
1.- DEACTIVATE AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
In this way we will avoid that the mobile is constantly looking for updates and therefore consuming battery.
1.1- We go to the Play Store and in Settings / General / Update applications automatically, we mark not update applications automatically.
1.2- Once this is done, we go to the Miui updates. We follow the route Settings / About the phone, click on the number 12 that is in the upper left as when we want to update
and then in the three points that appear in the upper right, we go to the update settings option and deactivate download automatically.
2.- DEACTIVATE THE WIFI ASSISTANT.
This option allows the mobile to automatically change the network, without us having to be aware of it, but it uses the battery unnecessarily. We are going to configure it to do it manually.
We follow the path Adjust / Wifi / Wi-Fi Assistant, enter and deactivate the option to select the best networks automatically.
3.- DEACTIVATE THE GAME TURBO.
This option is aimed at those users who do not use the phone to play, if so, deactivate it because it uses a lot of battery. I do not play much, rather little, even so I do not have it deactivated.
We go to Settings and in the search bar type game turbo. Mark the 2nd option that of Game Turbo Security, it will take you to the app, once inside, mark options that are next to the + sign, at the top right. Once inside, uncheck the Game Turbo option, it is the first.
4.-DEACTIVATE THE PRINTING SERVICES.
We have these services to connect to printers active all the time and the phone will be constantly looking for printers so that we can connect.
We go to Settings and at the top in the search bar we will write print. Click on the only option that comes out, now click on System printing services, once inside we will deactivate it. We will see that on the screen below, we have a blue bar with a text that says looking for printers in this way we prevent it from constantly searching.
5.-REMOVE BLOATWARE:
I have removed the following but it depends on each one, they could remove more.

OTHER ADDITIONAL SETTINGS.
Let's go Developer Options.
-Registry Buffer Size, I have it set to 1 mega.
-Window animation level / Transitions animation level / Transition duration level. All three are by default at 1x, lower them to 0.5x.
-Display: Manual brightness, almost full, in dark mode
-Screen / Color scheme in Saturated.
-Screen / IA image engine, here both IA HDR enhancement and MEMC I have them activated, although they increase consumption they are worth it, the screen improves, both visually and in video viewing.
New edition on 04-22-2021: In addition to the previous additional settings, the refresh rate of the screen can also be lowered from 120Hz to 90Hz, you can see it here:
HOW TO CHANGE THE SCREEN REFRESH RATE OF THE POCO F3 TO 90HZ
If we want to increase the battery life a little more, we can lower the refresh rate of the screen from 120Hz to 90Hz, thus we will achieve extra savings without having to put the screen at 60Hz. To achieve this, we download the SetEdit app...

Battery consumption tonight, I left it charged at 100% and spent 3%. I never put it in airplane mode, always with the wifi activated, but I deactivate bluetooth and gps, which I activate again in the morning, I also clean all apps that are open in background.

Thank you very much spiral5 for your contribution.
Today my Poco F3 was updated (it had a battery problem) and it seems that now I have problems that it does not report well, because since 8:30 it loaded and it only shows me 99%. This is crazy.
I have removed everything as you have commented (apart from the Mi account before reading you) but I would like to know if all the bloatware that you have put can be eliminated "legally" or you have had to use an additional ADB tool or similar.
Again, thank you very much for your input! I couldn't even imagine that this had a printing service too ... damn ...

----------
MOD EDIT: English Translation Below
I put examples of "before" and "after", by the way, in the absence of removing some additional bloatware ...
The "after" stats put less than 3h, but it is because I restarted to see if a process that looks at the battery had been hooked, because I do not believe that it is like this since 8:30.

"Before" and "After" screenshots (before clean all bloatware)
I don't believe that after 7 hours it has 99% battery left. Stats was reseted after reboot (I rebooted the phone because I couldn't believe that stats).
Update (today):
27'5h uptime, 62% battery left. Soooo coool.

You can use Xaiomi ADB fastboot tools, the bloatware that I put is the one that I deleted, but maybe you don't need as much or maybe you need to delete more, in the program you get a list that you can remove without problems. Greetings.

Ok, I've still not delete the rest of apps, but it drains as before patch.
I close all apps before going to bed.

Just restart the phone at 7:00 and it returns to be ok.
Come on, Miui!
I set energy behaviour to some apps (closing them 10 min after been in background), I follow all the instructions here... it's annoying.

Yes, I tried to fix it reinstalling the update (with its restart), but nothing changed.
Seems that after my last restart it works better.
I'm still controlling it every few hours.

3.5mm Jack Volume Boost

Ok guys, I love my Epic and there's no way I'd ever get rid of it...but the headphone volume output is abysmal. I have to turn my car radio way up (or max in some songs) while in aux mode to hear it nicely. Whereas my friend's iPhone 4 doesn't need all the pampering and can easily deliver loud enough out put from it's headphone jack (at lower settings on the radio). I'm wondering if there's a deep setting somewhere I can tweak or perhaps a flashable app/hack that will raise it up substantially (for I can always turn down the volume).
It was just embarrassing since I had her phone beat in every other way, but then got trounced in something as simple as audio out volume. (but it was good because I'm hoping it's some simple thing that can be tweaked one way or another)
Hopefully someone can help, I didn't find anything useful with the search feature but maybe I just didn't use the right search keywords.
Thanks guys!
download Voodoo Sound from the Market. Even when I was running EH06, it still worked for me. If you download it, change the Headphone Amplifier to 5db. I had the very same problem and that did it for me. The only bad thing is that you have to set the settings again every time you turn off the phone.
Hope it helps, man. Good Luck!!
I have the same exact problem. I brought up the volume to 0dB with Voodoo Control. It did some help. I wouldn't bring it to 5dB. It makes the sound over-modulated.
Thanks to the both of you!
I've had of Voodoo Control this whole time but didn't know what it did. (included in my ROM)
I'm such a tool, I'll try 0dB and then 5dB and see which has the level of output I need
Got a decent drive planned tomorrow to test the results!.
Galaxy tuner is a great tool as well. Its like a Swiss army knife for galaxy s phones lol.
Get better quality, like FLAC.

How did it work on eh06 it doesn't have the kernel?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
For the payware version of voodoo control you don't need a custom kernel that supports it as long as you have root. I'm running it on EH06.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Also the recommended volume setting is the with the software/android volume maxed out or close to it then you control the volume with the hardware output. As for having to set it again after restarting the phone, there is a hack built in that allows the hardware volume rocker to control the voodoo output while automatically maxing the software volume. Really convenient.

[Q] support, GSM strange icon

hello, had my Sprint LG G2 with 4.2.2 unlocked and using it in Venezuela (I live in Venezuela) but when I upgraded to 4.4.2, I released him again and just grab GSM with a strange icon. Before I went out of the H or E mobile data.

is very slow, I prefer 3G.
it's just an icon, it doesn't mean you're not on 3g
Yes it does mean you're not on 3G... GSM = G = NOT 3G... Compraste el teléfono desbloqueado? 2das manos? Sigue buscando o llama a LG...

unlock it myself and it worked fine, 3G, UMTS and EDGE.
but one day I went back to the sprint stock rom (4.2.2) and the release that icon appeared again. Then upgraded to KitKat Sprint LG flash tool, and I thought it would disappear, but no.
now only GSM.
Yea, pretty irritating to be honest. I would love if someone can provide a way to change the icon from GSM to E / H+. I have tried Xposed module Ex-themer and changed signal icons, but it does not make any difference. It has to be somewhere in the framework-res, isn't it?
Alright, I am doing some research on this.
I found someone was able to fix this on Sprint HTC One. I can't find the relevant G2 file on my phone yet (but I havent looked hard).

I can assure that it is not just an icon. It has a purpose at the time it is display. Maybe you're blessed with a fast gsm coverage. The LTE icon means something, the 3g icon means something, the H icon means something. It is not just an icon. If it is not meant to let you know about some specific task then why bother put it there to be display? Just asking!

It is very rare. With the stock rom was perfect, after a while, quice go back to stock rom, downloaded here in XDA with flashtool and this icon appears. I did the same steps to unlock the first time.
GSM sometimes appears without the circle around, with big letters
I've got this icon, but in network I'm on "UMTS" so it's fine.
Would love to have the proper icon though

Go to your about phone section and click on status. In there you will see what type of mobile coverage you are really running. The GSM icon is there to tell you you are no longer using CDMA because on certain Sprint plans you can roam on GSM but it costs more to do so.

ok, I have this GSM icon. to make it change you need to change the build. prop line that carrier name=SPR to say TMO or simply delete SPR. and magically you'll have 4G icon. also you will have two sliders in the status pull down menu. check it out le me know. side effects the ui. apk occasionally crashes ..
which is the path to that folder?

Ok, I tried this. Doesn't help to be honest. It now gives a static 4G icon, even though I am on 3G. It does not change between E / 3G / H+, it just stays static on 4G. Also, the signal bar is stuck on 1 bar and does not change depending on the signal strength.

well, mine did change signals although yes showed lower bars. I forgot the other line on build. prop that I changed and showed me more bars. mine was always connected to hspa+ so 4G was appropriate. sorry it didn't help you as much. my feeling its the build. prop has the secret to it. I noticed when you mess with this device it gives you different results. Sprint has tricks under their sleeve.
I went to the build prop line "ro.build.target_operator" (or something) and deleted the value, and rebooted the phone. It now shows an "H" icon with traffic arrows (which disappear when the wifi connects), and correctly displays my signal. Behaves as if I had set the value to "spr" (sometimes com.android.phone crashes when dialing a number with an area code but whatever). No more stupid GSM icon!

Screen temporary burn-in

I was using Facebook for a long time reading some comments and after I closed the app I noticed that there were some details "burned" in the screen that were clearly visible from a grey/dark background because the Facebook app doesn't have a dark mode it's all white and bright.
The same occurs when I play Minesweeper for a long time, the squares get burned all over the screen.
After a while, the "burns" just goes away, until the next time I use a bright app for a long time.
Is it common or is it a display fault? What can I do?
Saw another thread regarding the same issue.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8/help/redmi-note-8-tianma-lcd-panel-t3991425/
There are more replies on that thread and also other people facing the same issue, but I'd still like to know what can be done regarding this issue.

oh, ok.
Sorry for not noticing. I have the exact same panel type (tianma panel) but not the burn in issue.
Try setting your display colour warmer using either screen filter from play store or thru system settings (worked for my g5) and avoid using auto brightness.

Saw another thread regarding the same issue.

There are more replies on that thread and also other people facing the same issue, but I'd still like to know what can be done regarding this issue.

Mine is the same as this guy's video, 2019.10
When I bought they advertised as "Global".
Also, all the instructions on the papers are in spanish.

if all the papers are in spanish it must be the mexican version, not global, so yeah, same batch as that guy for sure
I'm facing the same issue as well in my Redmi Note 8. I contacted Redmi India and they suggested me to factory reset the phone, but the problem is still there. Mostly I use my phone to watch YouTube videos. I used to like this phone, but now I'm heavily disappointed.

Thanks, I had solved it in late 2019 / early 2020, and had been using Paranoid Android since then.
Two and a half years later with the same build and ROM (and a lot of bugs that accumulated over time) I flashed Lineage with android 11 and the screen retention started happening again, after some searches I found this post, took me some time to realize it was my own hahahaha
But yeah, for anyone having this issue, most ROMs should have a "Live Display" feature under "Settings -> Display" and then you can set it to 90% in each option (Red, Green, Blue) and the issue should be fixed.

That's just the reality.

In your place, I would try the factory setup and installation of another launcher. I myself have been using Nova Launcher for many years, which is very fast, well-tuned, and the free version is enough for you. The device behaves completely differently with it.

Question Battery usage

Good day, everyone. I wanted to ask what kind of things/apps are in the "Other" section when looking at the battery usage percentages? It's very odd, because, for example, today it used more of my battery than my screen did. I tried to optimise every single app that I have installed (There are no apps, that could drain my phone's battery as far as I'm concerned). Is it possible to fix it?
Thank you in advance and best regards,
portugalas
i think they are system apps
Switch off you pocket detection sensor, it's draining you battery!

Is that different from "raise to wake"?
Yap, but i think that's an option to have off too if you want stand by battery to last more.

I removed all the bloatware I could, we'll see how that will improve battery life. Either way, thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
