In my case i had issues with part of screen not registering touches (after a while) and requiring a reboot to fix.. today it did not re-occur with 12.0.4 but need to give it some more time to be sure..

Random shutdowns not fixed...

Updated to version 12.0.4 and no problem at the moment.
The truth is that I have been with the phone for 3 days and it has not reported any errors to me.

Didnt solved sleep battery drain.Lost 12% in two hours, worse than before update...
And its random.

Not a new bug, I had this cleaner bug since I got this phone 5 days ago. It's not a new bug, just still persistent.

Didn't have that bug anymore since the update that's strange but not really annoying.

At the moment my F3 seems to be a lucky device, because I have a rather decent screen (only an almost imperceptible green tint at 0 brightness in the upper-center side, around the selfiecam); I suffered no shutdowns nor reboots and no screen dim, too.
In my case the 12.0.4 Update gave me a little more battery backup when in standby (but I never had drain problems).
The Cleaner app issue was still present on my device since 12.0.2, but disappeared after a few more hours of use.

I have green tint at low brightnes on grey but Indont care, every amoled has it.You got lucky.I am happy with a phone, my xs max has tint too but costs five times more. They just need to get rid of grey in UI.Use black insteed.

I'm very happy, too.
Screen issues on all self-emitting screens used in OLED and plasma TV are brightness-dependent.
I own a Panasonic set equipped with a PDP unit; it must be correctly set with the right brightness level because an eccessively reduced value introduces a non linear behavior at low IREs, with black crushing and banding artifacts.
So if you set the slider of the F3 at about 50%, you won't notice anything at all.
BTW, I forgot to say that my haptic unit is working very well, too...

so first night with 12.0.4 and I lost 11%, so for me it didnt fix anything...

i got some xiaomi for years and their update are just joke, the 12.04 didnt fix anything but i had a pretty good battery before now its bad and i lose % pretty fast, they are best to copy the look /os of apple or samsung but when its about to copy good update, they fail

My only problem is the idle drain. With this update I think it got worst, 15% loss in 4 hours of idle after unplugging it from charger..

For me , it's a new bug , but solved with "Mi Cleaner 462.1.210203" : https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/xiaom...er-462-1-210203-release-android-apk-download/

Same, idle drain isn't fixed for me either. -.- 8% tonight with aeroplane mode on. 1% per hour.

Same here Lost about 15% during the night.
There is no fix right, we have to wait for a patch?

50% is phones sleep mode ,(6%) for 9h isnt that bad.Problem is what ever is that OTHERS apps because these use lot of battery.
This battery app isnt good at all...

for me it's the "Phone Idle" process that takes 10% of battery per night, in Aeroplane mode. Also nothing suspicious in BetterBatteryStats. just bad battery managment in the OS.
I did also have the Other apps using a lot issue, but it went away after my final round of debloat and turning off WiFi and Bluetooth scanning (for some reason Google Play Services still scans WiFi and Bluetooth even in Aeroplane mode)

Worse battery life with KK

Worst fears realised.
The Kit Kat update has delivered drastically worse battery life.
Could often work with 10% per 45 min - 1 hr screen time before on WIFI, that has now gone out of the window.
1 hr 44 min screen time with 68% left now.
That is quite a bit worse I would say.
Anyone else feel the same?
I would rollback, but the camera improvements are just so much better.

I had about 5 hr screen time and almost 2 days of usage. I am using stamina and greenify though since I don't need emails and notifications pushed, I just manually refresh it.
Nope, I just managed 7.5 hours OST on my last charge on WiFi without Stamina Mode, so quite a bit better for me than JB where 5/6 was more usual. Standby power is also noticeably better, averaging ~0.4%/h.
Sadly the KitKat changes make most battery stat apps useless without root now, or I'd suggest you run one to see what's up on your end.

Cant find anything that stands out. Going to drain and do a charge from fresh.
Did anyone try to calibrate the battery after flashing?
Calibrating battery gives exact battery reading.
There is no real calibration in android and for everybody pls alow 3-4 full charges before reporting your battery life on kitkat(same when flashing new kernel)

This is obviously a sign of some rogue process running intensively (compare performance after booting in safe mode to confirm). You should be able to figure out pretty easily which it is from the basic battery stats page, sadly no partial wakeleock listings anymore on non-rooted phones though.

How to boot into safe mode?? sorry I am new here and this is my first android ph )
I have done factory reset>>installed 4.4.2 via PC companion>>full factory reset incl internal storage.. heating problem is somewhat solved.
But it gets heated up when connected to charger..which on JB doesn't happened!! strange..
Draining seems to be normal but takes too much time to charge..
I got a great battery life on kitkat.

[Q] Very strange battery behavior.

Hi all... first post, first problem with android... and hopefully a long time here in xda!
So I have the T320 (8.4 pro) and I have a strange problem with my battery. Is not only that it lasts no more than 4 hours (screen), the problem come by low and high battery %.

By low, the table shuts down and after starting it again, it shows between 5 and 10% battery!!
Something similar happens by charging... it shows 90% and no change... and after a reboot it shows 100%.
Is my battery dying? Should I wipe and restart from zero? Cyanogen?
The speed how fast battery drains is also extreme compared to stand-by times... but I assume this is more or less a problem of this tablet.
Many thanks in advance!

Having similar issues. Found mine dead out of nowhere one day. Never had custom ROM on it. Did factory reset now it seems like it doesn't want to charge .... Charges VERY slowly if at all.

i have the same issue, dropped from 50 to 15 all of a sudden , will try calibration , anyone else noticed this ?i picked up mine used so unsure whats the issue
i found better battery life after i did a factory reset. i bought it new and set it up and since then had 1 Sammy update but last week i reset it and it clearly made a difference on my 10.1. yesterday i had 2 hours screen time and on battery for 2 day and some hours and had 60% left.
Add mine to the list....seems to be doing the same thing here. Haven't been able to sort it out yet.
Took the back off mine tonight and reseated the battery connector. Then charged like below. First to time in a while it charged up like this.

I just very carefully went around it with one of those guitar like plastic openers i have laying around from the many tablet/phone repair kits i have used. I probably rebooted it 5 times before i finally popped it apart... thing just did not want to charge. This was the first time i saw it ramp up 1% at a time in a while. The other thing i noticed it was doing was jumping from ~70% to 100% instantly.... The graph showed it too. I didn't believe that was really happening.
some pics would help , is it between the screen and the metallic part or the back and the metallic part ?

I suspect an app did this too. I was on cm when it started...others were stock. Chrome or some other common Google app put our tabs in a funky state.

Battery life issues still continuing after 6.0 update

The 6.0 update still has battery issues. Removed my watch from the charger at 6:45am...it's now 10:45am and it's down to 65%. Not acceptable life. Anyone else having these issues?
Try factory reset. Then run it down until it dies to recalibrate the battery. It worked for me. Hope this helps.
Having same issue, no apps installed besides Keep. No changes made to settings, except turned off accelerometer to turn screen on when twisting hand. Already did 2 factory resets, I do not know what to do anymore. Of course, ambient screen is off. It barely lasts 10h. Most ****tiest battery I have ever seen on any device. Maybe 6.0.1 is bugged, but I'm thinking if I should load 5.1.1 manually if it's better and lose my warranty, or just freakin' return it.

The fist couple of days, I had the same issues. .. I would get about 8 to 10 hours... it sounds kind of weird, but really no kidding give it a couple of days to optimize it self , after draining the battery to like 10 % or so, do a factory reset and wait till it completely run out of power... let the thing die completely so that the battery recalibrates... at least that's what did it for me... I get over 24 hours everything on except ambient mode... I'm on marshmallow. .. CREDITS TO ( STEVER87 ) this really worked for me... it will work for you too.

You have a great gadget in your hands... STEVER87'S advice worked for me...follow his advice and you'll see a dramatic improvement... just give the watch about 1 to 2 days to get optimized.
I think I "fixed" mine, just when I was about to return it. I changed my phone from a meizu to a xiaomi and the drain stopped, weirdly. It seems that it does matter with what device it's paired with. Now I finish the day with 50% battery.
I've had great battery life after the Marshmallow update. I take my watch off the charger around 7:00 AM and don't need to charge until around 10:00 PM the next day (approximately 40 hrs). I have about a dozen apps installed and have Ambient screen, Tilt to wake screen, Gestures and Wi-Fi off.
My watch wont drop below 12%/h . i tried probably every trick there is to find to extend the battery (Factory reset watch and/or phone, instal previous versions of android wear). For every method i've tried i Let the watch settle for a couple of days. 8 to 9 hours Max Without touching it. Is my watch faulty?
I keep a charging pad at work too give it done extra juice when needed

The battery meter isn't that accurate, its just an estimation based on the battery voltage versus how you use your phone (and the resulting "typical" battery drain). You shouldn't expect it to be accurate to the being within the 1-2 (or even 5) percent range. Shutting off at 4 to 11% is not unusual, and not surprising.
You shouldn't be draining your battery down that low on a regular basis. Its bad for long term battery life. Good rule of thumb for Li ion batteries is short and frequent charge cycles.
However, optimizing apps and/or google process stopped after a shutdown (due to low battery) is not normal. That's a different matter.
I have this problem, plus some of my settings get reset such as my wallpaper, ringtone, notification tone, boomsound (off to on), screen timeout, screen brightness, whatsapp (keeps asking me to chose my backup options and no messages come through until then). This has never happened before and I'm not sure why it's only happening now. I'm not purposely trying to drain the battery or anything, it's just that sometimes on the road I am unable to charge it and it'll just die out midway when previously, that extra 15% could've lasted me for another 30 minutes, just enough for me to reach my destination.
The same problem.. But the bigger problem for me, it's reseting my settings..
It is a terrible problem , I return to KitKat and my battery reaches 1% , and so normal ... I'll make a test with lollipop .
Yes, same problem! So glad someone made a thread for it. It's frustrating and happens literally every time.
Experienced on both the stock and a custom rom. Any one knows any fixes? Is it because of the 'battery life reduces over time' thing? My phone is 2 years old now

That seems to be a problem with all htc ones (m7, m8, m9) as they get older, dont worry its normal
ive been experiencing this for a while, clear dalvik cache and let android do the whole rebuilding thing at the start and you should be fine...as for the battery fix ive just learnt to live with it, 15% is the new 2%!!!
I'm on this problem since a lot of time, as i was one of the first in the community to report it.
Seems like an end-of-life issue for one m8 and htc one phones line.
In my case i had a camera and charge board issue too, so in rma htc changed them, and now the phone is charging and quick-charging like it must have to. But i have to be careful when near 15% of battery because using camera, flashlight or others power-expensive features instantly turns the phone off, causing a database mismatch on the next boot (for marshmallow) and consequently the loss of data.
If the instant-poweroff occurs during boot, there is a massive loss of data and a lot of force closes on the next boot.
Nothing to do here i think, sadly.
In kitkat and lollipop battery reach at 1% ...

I have a fix for this as it happened to me and I tried a battery calibration app from the app store... I thought what your thinking now but after finding bad sectors and "repairing" it did actually work
solve the problem of battery and loss of settings , change the battery of my htc, now everything is fine , 3 days that the battery is discharged properly , I hope this information will help someone.
thats kinda "cool" to see many people have same problem as i do. atleast it wont run u crazy as before
1. sometimes phone dies when battery is 15%, and sometimes it dies when around 4% 2% or even 1%
2.resetting settings after phone dies!
so is the solution, to change battery? any better way that doesnt need to spend money?
Replace battery

Yes I've done this a couple of weeks back. The replacement is actually less hard as it seems.
But finding an original replacement battery seems to be pretty hard - Even though the replacement I bought is HTC branded and looks genuine, I feel like it's actually draining a little faster than my old original. 12€ Ebay had too good to be true.
However the instant-shutoffs are now a thing of the past along with the database corruption, so I'm going to have to live with a little less battery life.
Or does anyone know of a provider for genuine batteries?

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Standby drain on this tablet is atrocious. Never seen a tablet with such drain. I have it in airplane mode (WiFi is on) and it still drains like I'm watching videos. Sucks ass for such a killer piece of hardware.

Edit: I decided to do a total reinstall via Kies. I bought it off eBay and it came factory reset, but you never can tell. Originally I set it up, had bad battery drain, did a factory reset, and no difference. This time I used Kies to install a new image and it could be running any smoother. I've had maybe a half percent battery drain after 7 hours. I'm shocked at the difference and improvement.

Shame on Samsung for never fixing this bug or even acknowledging it. They made a similar fiasco with the recent Tizen 3 update on the Gear S3 but are atleast trying to fix it, likely because the audience for the Gear watch is larger and more vocal than the one for the Tab S3.
I don't understand, how can the tablet drop 20% when it's in standby for 9 hours??

Hi every one , i have Samsung tab S3 WiFi version in android 9 now , since 2 years , came with Oreo and suffered for every thing you can imagine , slow booting , laggy...etc not improved with pie , lastly i discovered from a thread here in XDA that the UK ROM is doing better , flashed mine with BTU ROM T820XXU3CTA1 using general csc not the home one , wiped the cash and system through recovery and now the tab is very good in every thing , much faster , better battery ...give it a try whatever your region.
