I am looking for a phone or tablet that has excellent performance and is good for gaming but for a cheap price. (eg: maybe 100-250 $)
I found the xperia play and I see it has a built in keypad and looks like it has decent gaming performance with overclocking and custom roms but I am wondering if it will be outdated soon as It is an aging device (Q1 2011 hardware with only 512 mb of ram) could someone please tell me if this is not the case or if you can reccomend something better.
Also one more question, do you regret buying your experia play or were you satisfied with your purchase! :fingers-crossed:

The Xperia Play is outdated already, but I don't regret buying it. In fact it's one of the best purchases I've ever made.
The Play (with the assistance of much development) has lived up to the mark and has been a really good performer. Even now it still amazes me that it can keep up with a lot of the latest games. Of course, they may not be running at max speed or best quality but from a single core Adreno 205 device, it's quite amazing.
If my Play died today, I would most likely replace it. They're cheap, has a great development area for it and most of all has a gaming pad. If you play games on your phone a fair amount, you really will think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
The only phone I would replace it with, is the Xperia Z... Because that's just frickin' awesome.. ><
I don't regret buying it, but I'm only fifty-odd bucks into it if you don't count the memory card, since it's not a sony-specific memory card I'm not counting it
If xda-developers didn't exist, however, it would be garbage.
I think owning a stack of playstation games also really increases the value of the platform...
Regardless, it's pretty fast, and pretty well-featured. The GPU speed is pretty good on GB and is supposed to be 30% faster on ICS. It may only have one core, but it's a pretty fast one. Overall, a good used value, or I wouldn't have bought it
Very truly pleased with my Xperia, was lucky enough to get fhe phone free from Verizon (upgrade phone was free) I play games once in while. But its truly beast we have the comtroller to a playstation built into the phone how cool.is it? TOTALLY! !!!!

$30,000 is not cheap by any standards. Nor does someone really need 7 gamers on one PC. But given a average household of 2 adults, 2.5 children… 3 might be a good in-home run. And even if we divide that by half, $15,000 is out of the reach of most people.
Thankfully in the past 18 months much has changed in the world of PC hardware. Intel Core X and AMD’s Threadripper offer more than enough CPU horsepower to drive an effort like this. New GPUs, despite the mining craze, can be found at great deals if willing to wait. And while we are waiting to see what the end solution will be for Intel’s high end of Core X we can certainly do it with what’s out today for far cheaper.
So the plan is this: An AMD Threadripper 1950X, 64GB of RAM, 3 m.2 SSDs and SSD storage to divide amongst the users. At the time Linus used the Fury X — this year we have Vega on AMD or anything at or above a GTX 1070 on NVIDIA. We’ll use Hyper-V to allow a local session and then provide 2 others — great since it’s free and has a friendly user interface for setting up.
The awesome part about this? While the concept here is gaming for demanding applications, there is absolutely no reason that no other environment couldn’t be similarly virtualized. For example — this household currently uses 5 PCs on a regular basis. Each one of those ran a minimum of $500. What if I could take all of that and put it in one PC — for slightly more cost but a heck of a lot easier to build and maintain? Want a build machine in Linux while running Windows? Shoot — we can already do that with Ryzen 7!
So here’s the start of the build list. Yes, it’s a bit expensive — but far less than both Linus’ build last year and the build AVADirect built for GTC earlier this year. The pricing here can also be easily tweaked a little bit in each direction to either build a better overall system or make it within your needs/budget.
Well, the concept is the easy part. Now it’s time to see what can be done to make this a reality. Virtualization in the consumer space has been waiting for the right catalyst — and it seems we may finally have it. Again… now it’s time to prove that.
I wanted to share some additional details. First, I've been told that several forum members on Level1Techs have been working on this on Fedora.
One of their writers shared the progress, looks like it's limited to Vega on the Radeon side and requires some fixes.
I'm going a different direction, trying to get this going through Ubuntu and Xen. Hyper-V didn't support direct GPU passthrough so it's out.

Hi, I'm wondering what other note 10+ players are using for their resolution settings for Pubg Mobile. I've been messing around with it and cant seem to figure out if a higher resolution improves visibility, or if I'm better off with a low res...I am running it on smooth/60fps regardless of the resolution.
I'm not new to the game, just new to the phone...any advice would be appreciated!

The sd8 + gen1 clearly wins in this comparison!! the only benefit of the d9000 seems to be less heat.
They will try to sell the dimensity edition for the price of the pro while having less costs producing the phone.
This time around dimensity only overclocked the soc while Qualcomm went from 5 to 4 nm aswell. I know reviews like those of "golden reviewer" too where the dimensity chips were more efficient. But this time they actually loose in the bechmarks by a big margin.

Sometimes I wonder why people write so much <Moderator Edit> these days and post sources that literally go against what they say.
The snapdragon 8+ 1 clearly lost to the dimensity. Almost everything was equal except for 2 things which dimensity won, not by a little, but by quite a large margin.
1.) Camera performance was significanly better, the detail was much better on the dimensity and even the dynamic range was also notably better, this comes to no real surprise since the ISP on the mediatek is roughly 3x as fast as the one found in the qualcom variant.
2.) On Gaming performance the dimensity won by quite a large margin, as stated by your own source, there are some heavy drops on qualcomm based phones, which really isnt anything new, this doesnt exist on the dimensity, it delivers way more fluid and reliable gaming experience, this is also the reason why we see more and more devices starting to use the new mediatek chips.
The real reason why they want to switch to mediatek seems to me that they are sick and tired of their power IC's and SOC's from qualcom blowing up or causing other type of issues. Many who own the Rog2,Rog5, Rog5s and soon QC Rog6 users know exacly what I'm talking about.

Neither is qualcomm. While they do have some things that are open source, their most important and interesting things are closed source. The only reason the things we have from QC are open source is because QC has to adhere to certain laws since they are based in the US, which forces them to open source their GPL based stuff, anything that isnt, you aint gettin anything. As far as I'm concerned, both have the same <Moderator Edit> attitude, QC however does market it as "they choose to open source" their things, trying to market themselves at the "good guys", much like apple and microsoft do despite their clearly anti consumer stance.
Regardless if youre an QC <Moderator Edit> or a mediatek <Moderator Edit>, ordering a Rog6 is completely <Moderator Edit> to begin with. Nobody should preorder a Rog6, period, we all know the Rog6S will likely be pushed out in a couple of months with a far superior gen2 / whatever <Moderator Edit> mediatek will push out and you have spent big bucks on an already outdated phone.

The Dimensity 9000 wins in CPU performance, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 leads in GPU. It's a different ballgame when power consumption is considered, though, as the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 looks to be more efficient across the board.

surprisingly, there is a few big fluctuations in 12S pro (qualcomm), it is higher peak but with few big drops but the performance of the xiaomi 12 pro dimensity is much more stable

No it isn't. It uses lower resolutions watch the reviews of golden reviewer on YouTube. It's not bad but the snapdragon is slightly better in terms of gpu performance. I agree the dimensity is more efficient. But the gap is much smaller now since snapdragon uses 4nm. The optimizations for snapdragon across Playstore apps/games are way more important to me. I won't trade that against slightly more cpu power and slightly more efficiency. it's about 3% m8 that's not much.

this screenshot shows all the facts. Now you can call this "not reliable" but that's all we can see right now. And this isn't just a benchmark screenshot, it's the reality. Same phone, different chips. There you see the truth.
What's that lift-up grey flap for on the 6D Ultimate (instead of "Dare to play" light)?
Some extra connectivity port/ a difference in hardware compared to ROG phone 6 Pro?

The fact that Xiaomi is selling the same device with dimensity 9000+ 100$ cheaper and the fact that it scores 100k less on AnTuTu compared to the snapdragon version is enough source for evidence to me that the snapdragon rog phone 6 is the better choice. <Moderator Edit>

I need my android apps without a notch or a punchhole, with the highest possible refreshrate, with a headphone jack, with a good translated os & the most compatible soc. Rog 6 pro comes with all of that. I even produce music on my android and just did 1200€ with a HipHop beat on Spotify. (fl mobile) I'm a different breed. computers won't cut it for me. I'm on the next lvl. I produce on oc too. but the workflow on Android is crazy fast. got already 100 beats running on all stores bro.
