How to get dual sim functionality on S20 ultra us unlocked snapdragon version - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hello everyone.
Apologies if someone has posted a fix for this anywhere earlier but can't seem to find it. So I was wondering if it's possible to enable esim functionality (1 physical and 1 esim) on us snapdragon s20 ultra unlocked. I really need that for home and work life balance. I am open to flashing a firmware to enable esim functionality provided the device supports that firmware. Would be glad to buy anyone a coffee for guiding me on this.

Hi,
If you are unlocked flash the decoded csc features from magisk
Decoded csc

Please help regarding this issue. I need it on an urgent basis. My device is sm-g988u. If anyone could just point to a compatible firmware for esim or any other workaround.

Am ready to pay a decent amount to anyone who can provide a solution to this thing.. I don't have a spare phone and besides it's cumbersome to carry 2 phones.. Desperately need a solution..

I am also looking at the same issue. I have a s20 plus snap dragon. Single sim. Can I buy dual sim tray and insert it? I am in Canada and Bell says they support esim. But can't tell me if esim and separate physical sim will work with my phone.

Galaxy S4 mini GT-i9192 Dual Sim Q's

Hello all!
Just had a few questions regarding the Dual Sim version of the Galaxy S4 Mini. I just ordered one to use as my travel phone using both my local US tmobile sim and a local sim at my destination. I was curious about some of the compatibilities of this phone with some of the other Galaxy S4s.
Particularly:
Is it possible to port over tmobile wifi calling to work on this phone from say the main Galaxy S4 from Tmobile?
Would I be able to install custom roms from the single sim Galaxy S4 mini?
Thanks very much for the help in advance

Hello!
In Dual SIM model, you can define which SIM you want to use to make calls, send messages or whatever... you can define one main SIM or choose SIM when you make the call.
And about custom roms:
There are official CyanogenMod ROM to both single SIM model (GT-I9190 or GT-I9195), but don't have any custom ROM to Dual SIM.
I hope I've helped you.

If i were you and using only one sim most of the time I'll get a 9190 or 9195 and a single cheap small phome while I travel,
I've flash in 9192 cm from 9190 and 9195 both work but didn't recognize the sim i think flashing stock from other variants would be the same

Hi,
I am gonna buy a new dual sim soon and I am very undecided between this one and the HTC one dual sim
I am thinking about these two because they should be ones of the most used dual sim smartphones, giving me more hope to get updates in the future
The GT-i9192 doesnt have LTE (which consumes a lot of battery btw) and NFC, but it does have a removable battery and costs much less
Reading around I got to know this Knox stuff.. since I live in Europe I read the warranty problem shouldnt matter..
However it looks like the Knox may interfeere whenever you want to flash some newer custom android version.. is it true? I mean, if it is just a matter of displaying an alert I dont care but if I cant install a newer rom than I would get pissed off

First ever Sony !!

Greetings,
This will be my first ever Sony unit and I really don't
know what unit to get! I always get an unlocked version
and put Rogers Sim card in it.
Is there a North American variant available?
If not, is there an international version then?
And what is the difference if any between single and dual sim units?
Thank you for your help.

don't know which to get ?
Well, use the force, Luke !
North American (international minus fingerprint functionality) == no finger print scanner (?), enable via firmware flash [details in forum]
single, dual sim - single has single, dual has dual sim functionality
I recently bought the international version and am using it on Rogers. Works perfectly been using it for a month.

Dual sim on network blocked s9?

Hi to you all.
I'm about to buy a S9 from Vodafone.
Vodafone blocks the dual-sim functionality on all dual-sim devices that they sell.
However, a year or two ago I came across with a Huawei P8 Lite for my kid and there was a trick that managed to make the P8 dual sim once again.
We had to unlock the device with the proper code and then install the TPH Rom from Huawei.
Do you think that the same thing will happen with the S9?

I don't think so. On Samsung (not sure about others) they do not assign a secondary IMEI on the single SIM versions so that will be the biggest problem even if you find a way to activate it.
My point is that Vodafone does not have single sim phones. They sell the dual-sim S9 but they block the 2nd SIM functionality.
Not a hardware problem.

That might be true for Huawei phones but that has not been my experience with Samsung. Typically the dual SIM Samsungs are a different SKU, they are even labelled as 'Duos' on the device (I am looking at my dual SIM S7 now).

That was true until the S8....indeed Dual Sim models were different from single-sim models.
But with S9, there is no single-sim model in Europe, so the S9 that Vodafone will receive is the same... they just block de dual-sim conectivity, just as they did with the huawei models, that were all dual-sim.

Oh wow had no idea, thank you for the heads up. I have always wondered why Samsung have the option for either single or dual sim when buying direct from their site, particularly as they are the same price.

Canadian S20 5G with disabled e-sim

Hi guys
I would like to know. If I buy a Canadian S20 without e-sim, is there a way to enable this? Its hopeless for me without the e-sim as I need to use it for business like my IPhone which has an e-sim.
Thanks if you could help

No, however rumor has it a future update may facilitate this function but don't hold your breath! There are International variants which offer Dual SIM's. Samsung should make this option more widely available.

I'd pass on the Exynos SOC. The Dual SIM Snapdragon S20 Plus is available on eBay for $882.00.
Awesome yes but will Samsung pay etc work here in Canada?

Yes

I have the Hong Kong variant, it works in the US. There's a number of NFC Payment platforms, the main thing is your bank needs to be aligned with whatever platform you chose. Almost all banks facilitate Samsung MTS.

My experience with Samsung Pay and the HK variant is based on the Note 10 - out of the box, Samsung Pay will only work with AmEx in Canada with a dual SIM Snapdragon variant. Google Pay does work without any issues.
One other thing to consider - the HK/China/Taiwan Snapdragon variant does not have the same 5G bands as the Canadian one.
Quick Question. If you change the CSC to enable the e-sim in Canada. Which one do I use to still retain the Samsung pay and VOLTE?
thanks

I'm not aware of any Snapdragon Variants which offer eSim with one exception, the Galaxy Fold but I haven't heard feedback from Snapdragon users with Canadian Branded Devices.

At this time, there is no way to enable the eSIM on the Canadian model S20 series.
Hey thanx. Pity. Mabe OnePlus is the answer then.

Be aware that the OnePlus 8 Pro has dual-SIM functionality disabled right now. I have the OP 8 Pro and dual SIM is supposed to be enabled at a later date,

Yes, just saw that... so I am sort of screwed right now with no options but to buy grey. No go as not even VOLTe will work.../samsung pay
Telus might be allowing VoLTE and VoWiFi on unlocked phones... I am so disappointed with VoLTE / WiFi needing to be baked into firmware on Android, what's going to happen when HSPA is retired? Also why was it so hard to begin with, the tower should be the keeper / sender of the related settings.
To enable esim, you must find the firmware from the region & telco that support esim , and you must change the firmware *and* the csc too. changing only one of them will not do.

Xperia 1ii Variants and Regions

Hi all
I've used this website for years off and on but always reading, never commenting (so far as I can rememeber) and I thought this would be the best place to ask a question.
I am going to purchase this phone as it's been a long while since I last bought one (still using the Z5 Premium Dual) and I need to upgrade. I bought my current Z5 from a UK website that specialised in importing HK phones (but they are no longer trading). I have to say I think it's the first Sony release where I believe that they have addressed most of the issues of anything released after mine, and seem to have got it more or less right, plus made advancements in it's features (Photo Pro, Cinema Pro, etc).
But having a dual sim phone for all these years, I really want to buy the dual sim variant, the only problem is I cannot find enough concrete information to establish which variant is the model I need to buy and then, where from?
So far I've looked at all the US retailers and it's not plain to see as some advertise it as dual sim when its single sim hybrid. I've spoken to both Sony in th UK and US and advice is limited as they only really know about their own products. (Also, the US version(s) apparently do not support 5G and I'm not sure if that means their 5G, or that it would work when here straight out of the box or would require flashing. I don't want to spend that kind of money trying to see).
The Japanese versions are different still as they have their own model numbers depending on the carriers or retailers (I think from research) so I've looked at the Hong Kong site and the only version that they seem to sell directly is the single sim hybrid version which is the same as Europe.
Can anyone here please provide any further details of which model is the dual sim plus SD card version (if there is in fact one) and a link to where they found out.
The versions I know (from xperiablog.net) are:
- XQ-AT51 (I believe think is the single sim hydrid version)
- XQ-AT52 (I think this may be a dual sim plus SD card model but not sure)
- XQ-AT72 (I think this may be a dual sim plus SD card model but not sure)
- SO-51A (NTT docomo – Japanese carrier)
- SOG01 (au by KDDI – Japanese carrier)
The difference between the 52 and 72 variants may simply be the name for different regions but I'm sure that one is classed as the dual sim global version, which would be the version to go for. It would be grat to know the differences too.
If anyone can help with the any of the above, I would be extreme;y grateful.
There is also the time element as if I can't get the dual sim for any reason, I'll have to go purchase here and then I might as well take advantage of the pre-order offer of the free headphones.
Many thanks.
D
Confirmed XQ-AT52 is a dual-sim version in Taiwan.
I think most people are importing to the UK from wandamobile:
https://www.wondamobile.com/
They ship from HK so you will get the HK/Taiwan dual sim model (XQ-AT52)
I have listed support 4G and 5G Carrier Aggregation and Dual Connectivity (ENDC) combinations of Global XG-AT51 model: https://cacombos.com/device?model=XQ-AT51
may the XQ-AT72 is the Dual Sim version with 256Gb storage

That's the XQ-AT52. The 128 GB storage versions are the Japanese ones starting SO.
Maybe the XQ-AT72 is the Xperia Pro?
