Question Sim cards settings broken - OnePlus 9 Pro

EDIT:
I just forgot to delete the Viper4android module because it doesn't work and would set se Linux to permissive, so that it would break the Sim card settings.
The thread can be deleted.
Hey guys,
I'm currently on holiday and not using Sim cards.
Yesterday I was trying to install Viper4android and one of the files I've downloaded is now causing my phone to set se Linux to permissive.
But even worse, my sim cards don't get detected.
I also can't access the Sim cards settings.
The settings app freezes so I can only close it in the recents tab.
One other thing I have done was disabling the things to stop the phone from throttling in the Webbrowser and some apps.
I forgot when the problem started.
How do I fix that?

Android 4.0.4 Galaxy Nexus GSM loses C2DM connection after SIM swaps

The following scenario has happened exactly four times by now:
I use two SIM cards, one in Estonia and another in Finland. I visit Finland every weekend or every other weekend, depending on scheduling. When I visit Finland then I use pre-paid SIM card that I load with credit in order to use unlimited mobile internet the same way I use at home.
When I visit Finland I swap by Estonian SIM card to Finnish one and when I return I swap it back.
Problem is that exactly after six SIM card swaps, Google Cloud to Device Messaging service stops working and Galaxy Nexus blue connection bars stay permanently gray. This means that push notifications will not work and gTalk cannot connect at all. Other Google services - including Market/Play - work well if they can function without C2DM.
After such an event I have to restore my device to factory settings each and every time. After I do this, the device starts working again. So far I have not found a way to get C2DMA working without having to factory reset my device. The device has no developer or other rogue apps installed that might affect this in any way.
Clearing data of Android Messaging Service and other background Android services has not helped. Rebooting has not helped. Changing from data to WiFi, or to Airplane mode and back, has not worked.
My best guess is that this is some security or whatnot validation in Android code. Before Android 4.0, whenever you changed your SIM card (which I did just as frequently on my HTC Desire), it asked for your Google Account password, after which C2DM worked.
But ever since Android 4.0, your password is not asked and the C2DM stops working after exactly six SIM swaps. I know that it is exactly after SIM swaps by checking my schedule and gTalk chat logs, where I have made notes of this.
I have reported this bug and looked for a solution for this before, but have not gotten an answer. Has anyone run into such an issue or knows what I could try to restore C2DM connection without having to reset my device again? I know that the problem is very custom and thus most users never face this issue, since swapping SIM cards this often is rare.
Wow, this is insane. I actually worked it out! I had reset my phone THREE TIMES in the past handful months because of this!
Apparently what happens that there's a bug in Android that switches SIM card setting after multiple SIM card swaps. Android stores SIM card related settings internally somewhere, but apparently has a bug in restoring those settings after certain amount of SIM swaps.
I went to Mobile Networks menu and from there to Access Point Names and for some reason Android had switched to WAP service instead of the mobile internet one. This is a setting I had never changed and it's happened four times by now.
If you run into the same problem or your C2DM suddenly appears, then you should look at those settings first and foremost.

Brand new metro pcs LG K7 weird APN settings.....???

My BRAND NEW from the corporate retail Metro PCS store LG K7 (lgms330) was acting weird with the data connection so I started digging around the network settings.
I looked and it was set to WFM WAP, aka, Walmart Family Mobile. WTF?!!
Anyone else have this setup?
I didn't change anything from the day I bought it, yesterday. Just opened the box and used it.
Why would a MetroPCS phone be set to Walmart Family Mobile?
Someone help me understand this....
ALSO!
Since it only has like 1 GB of usable space for APPS, how the hell do you utilize an SD card for installing APPS on this thing?
I barely installed like 3 crucial apps and now I get the insufficient storage bullsh** screen message and cant install anything else.
I put an SD card in there, but it still gives that error. In the app manager, you can move SOME, like 2 out of 50, apps to the SD card, but that helped me install only 1 additional app. You cant move all the apps to the sd card, basically only the ones that LG allows.
So whats up with this WALMART FAMILY MOBILE APN setting? (brand new from corporate store) AND, how do you install apps on micro SD card? is root possible? any good roms?
should i return it and pay a few bucks for something better?
thanks!!!!
Hi Swagoo,
I don't have the Walmart network problem, but I am also having trouble downloading apps to the new SD card to my LG K7. The phone wants me to enter a password in order to "erase" the new SD card, but I don't know what password it wants me to install. Did you use a password for installing your SD card?
Walmart Family Mobile is powered by Tmobile. The APN setting can be changed by tapping the settings button in top right and click reset to default. I had a similar problem but wasnt coming up as WFM. It wont mess your phone up in anyway it will just reset your APN back to original settings. Aka it should show as fast.metropcs.com after that...

(POSSIBLE SOLUTION) unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

Hey everyone... I have read several posts about some roms prompting users that 'unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped'. I had this issue upon installing CM13 rom. Some people cannot even boot the rom ie. (and my case as well) Paranoid Android. When I was on CM13 I was able to make calls, but not receive them. I used my wife's phone to dial mine and as the first ring came, my phone would display the message about the phone process stopping. After some research I found that deleting cache and data from phone app might work. Well it didn't. I then caught a simtoolkit app... So I wondered about it. No idea what it does.. I don't use it... So i deleted it. I used a play store app that allows user to remove system apps with SU permissions of course. System App Remover by Jumobile.
Viola...the problem disappeared. I hope this helps some of you.
I tried booting Paranoid Android but immediately after 1+ boot logo it gives the 'unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped' repeatedly, not allowing me to proceed...however in the background there shows a password is needed to boot rom as well so I didn't bother with it. I read somewhere that removing the sim prior to boot will prevent that from popping up. I see some connection with that advice and my 'fix' involing the simtoolkit app.
Good luck
Update: Sun Jun 26. I advance wiped all but internal via TWRP. Installed BeanStalk ROM (1st time) and had same issue with incoming calls. Removed simtoolkit app and all is well. Just for good measure I proceeded to do the same with Resurrection ROM and Cyanogenmod 13 again. 4 different times, same issue, same solution. Sorry if this is already somewhere in a thread, but I couldn't find one.
So what you are saying is that you removed simtoolkit.apk from /system/apps and the com.android.phone force closing stopped? If so, that is great.
Does it affect the phones ability to place calls, or data at all? Does dual sim work?
If so, them I'll be able to flash and set up a custom ROM and still have the ability to keep work and personal cell on one device.

I didn't go as far as to go into the filesystem. Ive got some understanding on it, but I simply relied on the app removal tool to do the work.
As for the dual sim capability, I can not answer...yet! I did think about it but I haven't tried. I'll pop in another sim card and confirm. I have no data/network issues as of writing. I can confirm that both sim slots pick up my sim though. But that's probably not much help. Ill report back.
Thank you sir. I'm in the road right now for business and don't want to flash until I get home and have solid backups just in case. But when I do I'll try this fix it and see what can happen.

Sim card app advice??

Hi all. Does anyone have any recommendation for a SIM card management app to use on the G5??
SIM toolkit that came with it doesn't seem to work, I tap on it and it asks me to insert a sim card which i have already.
I have tried a few other apps but none of them seem to work reliably.
I mainly want to be able to save to and edit contacts on the sim card....reliably.
Any suggestions welcome.

AT&T unlocked & NFC enabled SIM card

Hi all,
I juz got a unlocked AT&T active s7 and have been using fine in my country ( not in USA ) . I'm on 7.0 nougat version BQA7 that installed via recovery.
I decided yesterday to have my conventional SIM card changed to NFC-Sim so that I could use it for my train fares in my country but apparently the apps I'm using says that my NFC SIM card is non NFC enabled Sim . I checked this Sim in my other phones and apparently is working well for NFC payment.
Question : as anyone of you here has got luck in using NFC SIM or its jus that AT&T disabled this feature in their s7A ? Or is nougat 7.0 that I'm using disabled NFC SIM card ?
Thanks , Any lights for me is greatly appreciated.
are you not able to use an app that uses the phones NFC ?
I'm using a NFCsim card that supposedly is able to be top up with values ( using Samsung pay) for my time town's transport fare. But the app for adding values detects the NFCsim card in my phone Sim tray as not a NFCsim card (but in fact it is) . I use the same card in a S7 edge and it works flawless. I was thinking if s7 active isn't compatible with NFCsim.
Btw , my s7 active has a working NFC.
samsung and google pay blocked on rooted devices
