Question Edit system files in Mi 11x - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I have been using this Mi 11x (Indian variant of Poco F3/ Redmi K40). It has TWRP by Nebrassy as latest version of Magisk (v23) installed and working. Magisk is working in systemless mode. System structure shows partitions Slot A and Slot B in TWRP. Whenever I attempt to delete any system file using root privileged file manager it return 'failed to delete : error code 1'.
I did try deleting these files using TWRP file manager. There also it says 'failed, Code 1'.
What am I doing wrong. And how to correct it? Please help...
Running Os: Xiaomi.eu with version 12.5.4.0 with MIUI 12.5
Device : Mi 11x (Aliothin)

System files cannot be deleted after android 10

Here I just got the solution... I just installed the flashable.zip file through TWRP in my poco f3 with xiaomi.eu and it was full success in first attempt.

I worked on my mi 11x with unlocked, magisk rooted Xiaomi.eu 12.5.4.0 rom (android 11). I just downloaded the flashable zip file from the site attached) and installed it in TWRP recovery. Pretty straight forward... But u need to have atleast 20gb internal memory free, where a backup of your super.img will be stored (u can delete this later). My advice is to go through the thread once since I have read certain feedbacks where the device went into bootloop.

From Pixel Experience Pie CAF Edition back to MIUI 10

Hi guys,
I'm about to sell my Mi 6 to upgrade to the K20 Pro and I would like to reinstall the latest MIUI 10 before giving my mobile away.
So as you read on the title I have the latest PE Pie CAF edition and I would like to be sure of all the steps to be done to install MIUI 10 without hassles. I have the latest TWRP 3.3.1-2
I have a Mac so the fastboot option is not my favourite one and I would prefer to use TWRP. I googled a bit and saw some youtubers reverting back to MIUI by entering TWRP and wiping
Dalvik / ART cache
Cache
System
Vendor
Data
Then install MIUI 10 ROM
wipe cache/dalvik
And then reboot system even if it says "No OS installed"
Some people installed lazy flash zip file as well. Some others didn't wipe Vendor and some wiped Internal Storage as well and installed the ROM via OTG. I couldn't find any guide/tutorial with a Mi6 and that's why I'm posting here.
What would you suggest? Do I need the lazy flash zip as well? Do I need to wipe Vendor partition and Internal Storage as well?
Thank you in advance for any experienced advice.

If you're on a mac, you can:
- download fastboot rom
- extract it
- run flash_all.sh (not really sure of the name right now but it's one of them ) file in the terminal
- done
Unfortunately Mi Flash doesn't work on a Mac ...
Thanks anyway

Hi all. I am trying to recover content from a MediaTab T5 with a Damaged screen (no picture). I've managed to install these recoveries and reboot into them. However none of them provide an adb interface for shell access, only a virtual usb cd rom drive appears. How can I obtain recovery adb access? I need to enable USB debugging and push adbkey...
Anyone have any clues how I can work around this please. Is patched boot img the only way forward?
OK good news I Successfully booted into recovery and have adb access. I think the key was to power on with vol+, but WITHOUT the USB cable attached. If USB cable is attached then it tries to boot to system regardless

Yes, you can revert to stock flashing this Service ROM , if yot are running EMUI 8. For EMUI 9.1 use Service ROM 9.1.0. This process will erase all your data and lock the BL again!
Or, simply flash SYSTEM.img extracted from Service ROM using Huawei
update extractor. This procedure will not erase your data ,bootloader remains unlocked etc.
Hey Alf,
Were you able to flash any of the recoveries over the erecovery?
The 3.2.1-0 GAGUGA Edition has a built in option but it didn't work for me, no failures but when I hold down vol + I still get erecovery. I tried flashing 3.4.0-0-emui9_eR by @S_mak to erecovery_ramdisk but got a command not allowed.
PRA-LX1 on a C432 base, got CAOS11 system and Magisk in recovery. Since the recovery partition is occupied by Magisk having TWRP on erecovery would be ideal.
Thank you for your posts, they've been useful.

flash TWRP , run command
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk (TWRP's_name).img
(Since A8 and above you can not install TWRP over eRecovery from fastboot, only from TWRP),
- Copy TWRP file to the SD card, and also copy to card Stock Recovery_ramdisk.
- Enter TWRP, select storage - SD Card, select "Install image", find TWRP file and mark eRecovery, swipe.
- Go back, find Stock recovery_ramdisk file, (or magisk-patched recovery_ramdisk on EMUI 9) , mark Recovery, swipe. Reboot system.
P.S.: as far as i know the PRA-LX1 hasn't received an upgrade to Pie (correct me if I'm wrong) , so i don't understand

I got it wrong, it's a ANE-LX3! Mixed up with my other phone, sorry. In principle that method works, thank you. I didn't get to actually test it because it seems the Magisk recovery overrides the boot procedure so it always boots to recovery automatically.
Handy but I can't boot into the erecovery with the button combo now.
P.S.: I'm having issues with audio device switching. If I get a phone call with headphones inserted it routes to the speaker and I can't change it. If I remove the headphones then the mic doesn't work. I also have a bit inconsistent connection over bluetooth, sometimes it is connected but still plays over the speakers. I have the Huawei switch method enabled in the phh options. Did you experience this?

Question How to root by patching boot.img, having issues with firmware

Updates work different for every other phone but its possible
here is a guide: by topjohmwu of magisk
Patching Images
If your device has boot ramdisk, you need a copy of the boot.img
If your device does NOT have boot ramdisk, you need a copy of the recovery.img.
You should be able to extract the file you need from official firmware packages or your custom ROM zip (if using one). If you are still having trouble, go to XDA-Developers and look for resources, guides, discussions, or ask for help in your device’s forum.
Copy the boot/recovery image to your device
Press the Install button in the Magisk card
If you are patching a recovery image, make sure “Recovery Mode” is checked in options.
In most cases it should already be automatically checked.
Choose “Select and Patch a File” in method, and select the stock boot/recovery image
The Magisk app will patch the image to [Internal Storage]/Download/magisk_patched_[random_strings].img.
Copy the patched image to your PC with ADB:
adb pull /sdcard/Download/magisk_patched_[random_strings].img
Flash the patched boot/recovery image to your device.
For most devices, reboot into fastboot mode and flash with command:
fastboot flash boot /path/to/magisk_patched.img or
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/magisk_patched.img if flashing a recovery image
Reboot and voila!

I had this problem (did not see the internal memory)
Try the following:
Install any SD card and boot into TWRP.
Then the phone will see both the SD card and internal memory.

Do you mean to say that twrp_lisa will see then Internal memory (/sdcard)?
Would it also ask for Android unlock pin/pass while booting to TWRP (to be able to decrypt Internal memory)?
Also, how do you permanently install this TWRP:
- fastboot flash recovery twrp_lisa.img
Or
- fastboot boot twrp_lisa.img
and then by flashing twrp_lisa.img to Recovery from inside the TWRP?
Ok, so I tested twrp_lisa img by temporarily booting (fastboot boot)
It asks for Android unlock pin/pass, it successfully decrypts /data but it does not show anything from Internal memory
I put external SD card and it used successfully (but it didn't help for Internal memory).
E.g., screenshots fromTW
All the rest seems to work ok
You can permanently install by following the instructions for similar A/B A11/12 devices with recovery-in-boot, like

twrp.me
That is, boot temporarily to TWRP, go to Advanced and use:
- Flash current TWRP
or
- Install recovery ramdisk
My Lisa is already rooted - boot.img patched by Magisk and flashed to boot from TWRP
I wanted to see if it was possible to keep Magisk but also to install TWRP permanently
Then I temporarily booted to TWRP (fastboot boot twrp_lisa.img) and tried:
1) Advanced / Flash current TWRP:
It failed (screenshot) complaining that recovery ramdisk was modified (supposidely due to my patching the boot.img by Magisk)
2) Advanced / Install recovery ramdisk:
It flashed successfully my TWRP img file but noted me (screenshot) that root was now overwritten.
Indeed, when I booted to System, Magisk app was showing no Magisk installed and I had to flash once again my patched boot.img (with Magisk then overwriting the TWRP)
All together, TWRP can be installed permanently but cannot (easily?) have Magisk and TWRP, permanently, in parallel - since both patch the Boot

Get ROM from xiaomi.eu link to thread of stable release is https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-13-stable-release.64441/
Download in sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-STABLE-RELEASES/MIUIv13/
I downloaded two roms:
1. xiaomi.eu_multi_MUNCH_V13.0.7.0.SLMCNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip
2. xiaomi.eu_multi_MUNCH_V13.0.10.0.SLMCNXM_v13-12.zip
### First one:
I use script inner zip to flash, success.
### The second one:
At first I can't boot from twrp.img after search by Google I found out that I run fastboot command in fastbootd env.
There is a ref: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fastboot-error-no-such-file.4483677/
I boot to fastboot (Not fastbootD) by command
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
And I can boot the twrp and flash the second rom.
The guide of flash second rom is
Code:
1. push rom to sdcard
2. adb reboot bootloader
3. fastboot boot twrp.img
4. Install rom in TWRP
5. Clear data & format
Update
This guide is for MIUI13 and maybe there's something different of current MIUI14 ROM.
Latest TWRP https://dl.akr-developers.com/?dir=skkk/TWRP/A12/v6.3_A12
BOOT VERSION A12
Installation:
Phone in fastboot mode
Cmd:
fastboot boot twrp.img
Power shell
./fastboot boot twrp.img
then in Twrp go to Advanced -> flash current TWRP
Reboot TWRP
hello there...
i am arsh from india. i have unlocked the bootloader of my poco f4 only to flash eu rom. i have unlocked, installed twrp and then i flashed eu rom zip file. In the last step when i try to do format data, i got an error unable to mount system and it was unsuccessful. So without rebooting to system i again rebooted to twrp to perform format data and again same error appeared. later i chaged boot slot from a to b and then performed format data and then it says "no os installed". So i changed slot again to a and then i booted to system and i am able to boot into eu rom.
My Question did i perform the flash correct???
I noticed when i m using eu rom battery is draining faster than global rom...what is your opinion??

The rom you flashed is not the latest.xiaomi.eu_multi_MUNCH_V14.0.5.0.TLMCNXM_v14-13.zip
to update you must update the twrp from A12 to A13 and use the OTA.
This rom is hybrid, which means you can update it with a pc and fastboot using the update.bat script included in the extracted zip folder.
If you haven't installed all your apps, use the First install .bat file.
The procedure for a first installation with TWRP is as follows:
Twrp/format data type yes reboot Twrp(if errors ,reds lines ,start again by restarting on the Twrp at each try.
Then sideload the rom or use OTG.
Errors remaining at the end of the flash, ignore them.
Delete the lock screen security before all opérations.

tq for the reply. a few hours ago i updated the eu rom to latest version via twrp. for now everything is working. i would like to know some things.
1. imo the battery backup with eu rom is terrible compared to global stable rom. whats your view about that??
2. Are there any heating issues with eu rom 14 ?
3. can we revert to stock rom and lock bootloader?

Not having this device, I cannot answer the first 2 questions precisely but on my 12 pro(Xiaomi Eu rom) the switch to A13 was beneficial for both.(Have you just updated? Give the system time to optimize itself).
3/Use miflash (if you have an F4 and not a K40s).
