Question How to overclock adreno 650 Gpu on poco f3? - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

hello evryone,
i heard people successfully overclocked adreno 650 gpu on sd865+ . can we overclock the sd870? any one tried overclocking it. any help would be really appreciated. thanks

1. Supported GPU overclock custom kernel (no kernel supported right now, only CPU overclocked).
2. Why do you want to overclock the GPU? Overclock means higher power usage, less stability, increase damage possibility.

[Q] GPU Overclock

Is there any possibility of a GPU overclock for the Rhodium? Just wondering out of sheer curiosity, it seems like it would give the phone a performance bump.
A search would have led you to not one, but two programs available to overclock the Rhodium CPU. I don't think you can OC the GPU separate from the CPU. The thread can be found in the Apps subforum.
I don't mean to interject inappropriately, but I think he said he wants to overclock the GPU not the CPU.

Yeah, I edited my post.
Alright thanks. Does that mean that the GPU gets overclocked at the same time as the CPU when you use one of the OC programs?

The display benchmark is higher when OC, but I'm not sure that means the 2nd processor is OC. The TP2 has a dedicated graphics processor.

The benchmark is higher during OC because the CPU "picks up the slack," so to speak, as it compensates for the now slower GPU on graphics intensive programs.
To answer the original question, though, no, there is no way (currently) to overclock the GPU. You should certainly look into OC on the CPU, though as is speeds up everything, including animations and the like.

Hahaha I already do OC my phone to 787MHz. Wanted to know because I am a bit of a performance junkie.
If it helps, I tried clock_7x00.gpu=0xa99 for ****s and giggles in my startup.txt. 17.6fps in Neocore before, and 17.6 in Neocore after. doesn't look like you can do it.
Any of the devs want to chime in?
thanks thanks thanks

[Q] Safe OC rate ?

I like the Doomkernel but overclocking the GPU scares me somewhat (since you can't change the GPU clock rate)
If the GPU/CPU is broken I don't think I can afford a new one...
So like the title, what OC rate is safe to use ?
All phones behave differently so some phones will oc to 2 GHz with no side effects while some won't go past 1.4 GHz
So u should try it yourself
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Oc above 1.4GHz without undervolt is dangerous
If you can undervolt 1.6GHz to 1250mV, 1.6GHz are safe, too
So just use 1.4GHz if you can't get a new phone in case you brick it

Just like a Computer CPU...you should only overclock in small increments..then check for stability.
Personally, i would advice against overvolting the phone..
I keep my phone @ 1.2GHZ..I don't find the need to go beyond this. Then again, i dont play too many games on it
I have "DooMKernel v4" and "Extreme Voltage Control" in the Arc S but did not appear the options to change the voltages. Why?

Overclock CPU to 1.5GHz and GPU to 512MHz....

Hi,
is it possible to overclock the GNEX CPU to 1.5GHz and GPU to 512MHz with a rooted stock galaxy nexus?
Is there an app to do it?
Is it difficult to achieve 1.5GHz, I mean, do I need overvolt or every GNEX is able to achieve 1.5GHz?

Flash a kernel. Franco and Trinity can do 1.5ghz and 512mhz gpu.
I'm sure there are others too but I don't know for certain.

No, not with stock kernel.
not.some custom roms have built in the perofrmnce tab to control cpu speed.not all chips can hit 1,5 in normal conditions...personally i have to disable smart reflex and do undervolting.there are some devs that has a control app on market that control all of these aspects.reccomended.personally i use glados kernel+glados control app.

third party kernel? what???
you need a custom kernel that is capable of overclocking that high. with the stock kernel you can not oc. so, its either a stock kernel or a custom kernel.. whats a third party kernel?
Hi,
And to complete:

Not necessary to overvolt at 1.5Ghz,it depends of the kernel you will use and his settings.Mainly the voltage at 1.5Ghz.
And no,not every Gnex can run at 1.5Ghz,not all CPU are equal, some can and others can't...Same thing for the GPU overclock at 512Mhz some can and others can't...
Glados kernel and Air kernel can achieve a 1.5Ghz slot...
I think you should read more carefully the Dev section...
And if you want overclock you need an app, developer's application kernel like Glados,Franciscofranco and Morfic or a "generic" app like SetCpu,CPUTuner,System Tuner,etc...Because if I'm not wrong no kernel offer a 1.5Ghz at boot directly without an app or a script,so if you flash a custom kernel who allow a 1.5Ghz slot it will not start at 1.5Ghz and not running at 1.5Ghz currently (obviously ) without an intervention by the user...
some phones cant overclock no matter what you try, some cant undervolt no matter what. even though the hardware is the same, there are very many variations. but overall, id say a majority can overclock over 1.5ghz if you do it right
@simms22,sorry I don't understand what you mean,I edited my post but I never said the opposite...
I see,I forgot the also about Glados and Air kernel...And I know Trinity kernel,no worries...

The CPU silicon is what decides how much you can overclock. Some users have a beastly silicon that lets them overclock far beyond 1500 Mhz (to like 1800 Mhz) while some has a silicon that only lets you overclock slightly before giving in.

Can I over clock CPU?

What I have to do to over clock my CPU from 1.8 Gz to 2.2Gz I'm on bootleggers unofficial ROM , any one who knows ?
Flash a kernel that supports overclocking. Then use an app of your choice to set the max frequency.
I assume you know the risk.

Faster as opposite to what..like 2 years vs 5 years? Haha!
Max thermals reach 46-48 which is only 2 or 3 degrees higher than stock & the temps/cpu clock anyway get limited by the thermal engine automatically after that.

It depends. If you do a full overclock you can risk killing your motherboard faster.
Slightly overclocks don't affect with nothing if the cpu temperature increases with 1-4°c.
Still, getting better cooling on your phone is a much better choice. Changing the thermal paste etc etc.
This is irrelevant to the op's request/question.
I dunno why a simple question thread couldn't be followed up by discussion of simple answers?
Look, It doesn't matter even if it destroys the phone cuz that's not the point of the thread but if you were insisting to be pedantic then that still could have been added in the end but only if you'd chosen to atleast answer something relevant at first = being relevant.
Ultimately these types of posts/replies are no different than spamming say a redmi forum with lenovo or iphone related questions..
Regardless of the above, oc on current kernels is not dangerous as such because there is no alteration/upping of voltages manually.
*** There is also a fixed "setpoint" of temperatures, frequencies, voltages etc in the inbuilt thermal engine profiles which no simple oc of frequencies is going to get past through unless one decides to disable it manually . If the temperatures reach even the lowest thresholds of preconfigured "high" levels then the chipset will start to downclock at once in fixed steppings***
