Question Camera issues with Lineage OS 18.1 - OnePlus 9 Pro

I currently have LOS 18.1 on oneplus 9 pro, the august 17th release and I don't have google services.
I'm wondering wheter there is a way of using the camera array properly as it would have been on oxygen OS. I mean, currently I can only use the main 48mpx camera and that's it. what I cannot do:
- using ultrawide camera lens
- recording more than 30 fps videos
I already tried Opencamera and Hedgecam2, none of them allows me to do that. gcam is out of the equation since I have no google services, but I strongly believe these issues are not caused by the camera apps but by LOS.
what can I do to improve LOS and fixing these issues?

Just go back to OOS my friend. That's what I had to do.
I personally love AOSP based roms but I don't think their integrated camera/gcam is stable enough, for now at least.
I myself tried Evolution X for about 2 weeks. The battery gets a major improvement if compared to OOS, but that's about it.
It can be used easily as a daily driver but the lack of OnePlus camera and many other features which were available in OOS led me back to it.
I'm currently running latest OOS with magisk updated.
I'll probably return to cRdroid/EvoX after their camera issues get resolved.

I just want to keep this for a while, if the problem do not goes away I'll have to install OOS and perform a GMS removal.

Why not gcam with microg? I've used microg just for gcam and disable network access to it and there you go, gcam with privacy.

there is no way you can install gcam in LOS without GMS.
then you are locked without camera features

He is suggesting you install microg; a cleaner fork of GMS, I am using it currently on my 7TPro and Gcam is working just fine with microg.

Is there not a way to pull the OOS camera and install it on LineageOS?

GCAM, Working on which roms ?

Hello Guys,
Yesterday I got my bootloader unlocked and after that, jnstalled the Pixel Experience. But, I found no gcam version working properly.
Reading here and miui forum, I realized that in some ROMs it is working like a charm (RR, for example).
So, im asking you guys, to comment here, which ROM are you using, and if it is working 100%.
Here:
ROM: Havoc OS.
Gcam: No HDR+ on front, black screen everytime.
Thank you all.

Doesnt matter which rom, indian RN5 works good with gcam, global/china RN5 doesnt have fully working gcam.
I'm using
- pixel experience 9.0 // August build
- Arnova's v8.1: GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.1.apk (Arnova8G2, 2018-07-22)
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/#apk391
Magisk modules
- HAL3 enabler - camera2 API support (if you have PE extended you don't need this one)
- RN5 camera patch module
(@rn5cpm , telegram group where you can find the link for miui and pie and support the dev)
Optional
- OP3/3T front camera fix - Oreo
( It is the only module that allows me to use hdr+ and portrait mode with the front camera, without any bugs)
With this build everything works fine without (almost) any crash, even the 240fps slow motion.
Stock xiaomi camera works too, sometimes it crashes, but with the Google cam I don't think you'll need to use it again.
Edit - update
Sometimes when I take a picture with the front facing camera in hdr+ it might be all black, but if I take a picture with the back camera and then switch to the front one it works again. I know it's a little bit tricky and I still don't completely understand why it happens , but it works in this way and it's not a big issue to me.

Camera sensors and quality on CFW ROMs

Recently installed POSP CFW coming from MIUI Stock. The only real problem right now is camera quality.
Is there any way or app to use all the sensors or take better pictures?
Tried last Gcam from celsoazevedo.com without success (just installed and run, don't know if there's something more to do)
Thanks in advance
Did you try this gcam?

Yes, that's the version I tried. Sadly, after a day trying a lot of versions and configurations, goind back to stock miui 12
Wow, I had good experience with that gcam on some GSI ROMs I tested, wonder if it's the MIUI 12 vendor causing your issues. I'd try some GSI's instead.

Question Are camera Apps limiting custom ROMs?

Hello everybody!
I have downloaded and installed Lineage OS on my Poco F3.
It's a great device but there are some software problems that really bugs me (proximity sensor is a mess, some GUI element are not good for usability, the "everything you need, nothing you don't" thing and then the phone is full of useless apps that i don't need...)
Lineage OS solved all of my problems except for one: the camera.
I'm realizing that there is no real alternative for the native camera app because it offers you the full potential of the hardware with all the features.
Don't get me wrong: i tried Open Camera, GCam Port and other popular apps.
Really good projects but there is always something missing or not working.
In addition on Lineage some camera apps are just not available on the Play Store (for example Footej Camera... using another store, dumping the APK from another device... all useless... the app will recognize my device as not compatible).
Why is that?
Lastly i even tried to install the stock APK on Lineage without success.
What is your opinion on that?
What are the software limitations involved?
Is this a limiting factor for you?
What camera app do you use?
Best regards.
I'm not someone who uses camera that much but I can tell you that I totally agree with people who think that native camera is the best. I use Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and there is no alternative to camera which comes originally. That's one of the reasons why I tend to use ROMs with camera very close to stock one or even the same like stock one.
Lineage is known to cripple cameras.
you sound pretty knowledgeable, so i'm probably not offering much here... but, ANXCamera (miui camera port) is being worked on for our device, as far as i can tell... the following is copied from T.Gram... may show promise later on, but for now it's not fully functional
How get ANX working (partially)—
1. Download the MiUI Core from here (MOD EDIT: Link Removed)
2. Download the latest ANX (full version modded for R) from here (https://camera.aeonax.com/)
3. Flash the MiUI Core and ANX Zip through Magisk
4. Reboot
5. Paste the device-feature XMLs (MOD EDIT: Link Removed) in–
/storage/.ANXCamera/features/
6. Download ANXCamera Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeonax.camerapro) from the Play Store and use it to enable all the desired features in ANX.
What doesn't work for now:
UW, Macro and 48MP

Yes, you can find it here
7T Pro DerpFest 12L
Doesn't open Videos and just crashes. Cant capture any videos, though camera is working.
Not working on PixelOS.
I can confirm, I installed the zip using MM and it did nothing on PixelOS (Mc5G)
I hope it gets fixed. In the mean time, I'm searching through GCams and XMLs. My favorite everything works except the selfie cam. Another only has main+selfie but I love its auto-night-shot feature. Another works with everything but I don't like how you switch lenses and it is missing some features of the other two. I've tried about 8 other ones but am now choosing between the above 3. If someone has a GCam+XML that works 100% please link.
EDIT: Actually, it doesn't install. MM says it installs, logs look good, but upon reboot MM has nothing about it in the module list.
Installed. Crashes on quite a bit on portrait. Crashes on video occasionally. swiping left or right to each tool seems to work a little better.
thanks

Which Gcam work for you ?

Question Any way to properly install OOS Camera on ROMs it's not pre-installed?

At this point, there are several ROMs with OOS camera, and a few without. The ones without, there are camera versions you can install but they don't have the auxiliary cameras available. At least not on EvolutionX. I can't seem to find any way to make them work either. I've tried several app versions and obtained a very recent OOS 13 fingerprint and setup device simulation props, and only the primary camera is detected. I even went as far as trying to use an installer for older OOS camera apps with a current OOS camera app, but I can't get it working. Tried looking at the CRDroid files and I can't see what they did either. I'm not a programmer nor an expert with ROMs but from what I can gather, I'd just need the right system or system_ext files, and maybe a particular app version, then I don't see why I couldn't compile a Magisk module similar to others I've found.
I would be interested too, nice question man
+1 from my side!
The final answer is NO.
OOS camera requires tons of OS side changes. Installing just the APK won't work at all. Porting an OOS camera to custom ROMs was already a mess and a complex thing.
The ROMs that don't include the OOS camera require additional commits/changes.
