Question Entering recovery mode - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

Hey all,
I'm trying to get into recovery mode in the z fold 3. Web instructions state to use volume up and power with device turned off. This is not working. Any ideas?
Thanks

Yup this changed since Android 11 so connect with a cable to a computer and try.

Thanks that worked!

Or just use a usb-c bud ...

[Q] Boot and recovery problem

Hi there,
I am using the Jellytime ROM with my desire HD. When turning my phone on the Jellytime splash screen appears and after that there is only a blank black screen and remains like that. Then I tried to boot the phone into recovery mode by holding down the volume down and power button but that did not work (my volume keys were working fine before) and nothing happened.
Then I looked around for solutions and I found the ADB method. With necessary drivers installed etc. I still was not able to boot into recovery mode since I cannot enable debugging mode and ADB showed the device as offline.
I have no idea what to do from now, anyone know of a solution?
Thank you.

What did you do to get in that state?
This all happened after I charged my battery from it being drained. Ive tried 3 other batteries too thinking it would make a difference but it didnt

Does your computer recognize the phone? If so what about in Fastboot USB mode?

Yeah the phone is recognized as a 'MyHTC' or something similar which I think is because of the HTC drivers I installed. I have the android phone drivers installed but the phone doesn't seem to be recognized as one.
I have tried to use fastboot via CMD but the device was offline. I cannot access the menu since I think my volume down key is not working.
Deconnect the battery, wait 1 minute, connect it again, then hold volume down (till bootscreen come) while pressing power for 1 second
Had the same problem, so i solved it
If you have the attached image on your recovery-screen (after pressing "recovery") you have no recovery-image installed
Thanks for the help everyone. I realised it was the battery case that wasnt functioning correctly. Just ripped off a piece of foil and put it between the connectors which fixed the volume button problem (i think) so i was able to boot into recovery .
Thanks.

[Q] Booting problem

hi. I encountered a problem on my phone that doesn't boot properly.
When i tried to switch on my phone it showed at first the welcome msg "Samsung S4 mini gt-i9192" then after that, a pitch black screen, could not properly boot. But i learn that it does not turns off after the screen turns all black, i have to press the power button first to turn off the phone.
This problem started when i installed an app with some compatibility problems.
I wanted to root my phone hoping that can solve the problem, but then again a problem occurred when i tried to connect my phone to my laptop. It fails to install MTP usb device to my computer. I tried connecting it again provided that samsung kies was installed but again failed to connect my phone. Therefore i cant root my phone because i cant copy the files needed to root to my phone sd card.
I tried reinstalling kies, installing mtp drivers but nothing happened. I tried also restoring the previous boot image, restoring factory settings using recovery mode. But then problem still exist.
And fyi my phone can't mount any external sd card using recovery mode. And i think it was not in a debugging mode.
Phone: samsung s4 mini gt-i9192
firmware: i dont know
So basically, the problem is:
my phone wont boot,
i cant connect it to my pc
and i cant root it.
How should i root or even flash my phone when i cant connect to my computer? Do you have any idea on how to solve this problem? Any solutions or suggestions would be much appreciated. tnx.

Have you tried putting the phone in download mode (Volume Down + Home + Power) and then connecting it your p,c , if not give this a shot it should pick up the drivers , once done , take out the usb cable hold the power the button to shut down and boot up .
since you have not mentioned your OS am assuming it is windows , try taking out Kies via some software like revo uninstaller which will remove all directories plus all registry entires then reinstall it if you really need it.

yah, thats what im thinking. i just brought this here hoping to solve this problem without going to a shop. thanks anyway.
aac. To me put your phone in download mode then use moborobo(a windows software) . Just open it and it will install the driver. If it dies not work then use adb installer . Remember you should have only any one of the software at one tim means either moborobo or kies or adb installer

btw have you tried to boot the phone in safe mode ?? if it boots in safe mode it is still fixable without going to service center. power down , power up+ tap the menu button 3 or 4 times at THE same time to boot into safe mode if it boots into safe mode that means the hardware and OS is fine if it does not well then your out of luck.

Android 2.2 keeps rebooting on boot, can´t enter recovery

Hi all. I´ve got this tablet: Arnova 10 G1 - rooted. I have a problem with booting. When it starts, it keeps rebooting on boot screen. I can´t go into the recovery mode :crying:. I've got these buttons: Volume Up ´, Volume Down, reset button and power button. I have 2 USB ports. One large and one small USB port (microUSB).When I connect to PC, It doesn t recognize it. ´ I had connected the two USB ports.I do not know what further. Thank you very much for your help.

Unable to enter download mode

So i discovered a strange thing from my G3 while trying to upgrade to 10E. My phone is unable to enter download mode to flash the update. I have done the procedure a in the flashing thread:
-turn off phone
-unplug USB
-hold down volume up
-plug USB
i can head windows play the device connected sound then proceed with the phone just displaying the normal charging display.
also, adb reboot download does not work, adb reboot recovery does.

I had same issue, just make sure that you plug in the USB cable fast after you hold the volume up and also make sure you continue to hold the volume up.

I tried a thousand times but every time it just start up mobile phone instead of going to Download Mode.
Remove the battery for a few seconds and be sure to plug into usb 2 and not into usb 3 port on your pc
I tried that too. Removed battery for seconds and connected to USB 2.0 but same issue. I wonder it connects to PC and LG Pc Suite without any problems. I'm sure all rivers are already installed but wonder why it can't enter download mode.
I lost LG original USB cable and use other cables ( I tried many ).
What's wrong then?!!! I even tried Windows XP and 8.1 but both same issue!
I'm having the same issue only I think it's because I really bricked my phone, not able to boot up or anything.
My gives me an error saying fast boot and a couple of commands with a black screen, Unable to get to download mode

My G3 (on Lollipop 5.0) won't go into Download Mode

Hello everyone.
I need help.
I would like to root my G3. Or downgrade to 4.4.2. Or flash another ROM.
I can;t do any of these because my phone gets stuck in Fastboot mode when I try to get into Download mode.
I did a hard reset, and I am trying the simultaneous vol down + power key for many times now. but it just won;t go into Download mode. The "Dowlnoad" symbol show up for a fraction of a second and then it goes to a black screen with very small letters, I can read "Fastboot", and then it's frozen. The only way out is to remove the battery.
My G3 is an unblocked version running 5.0, Kernel 3.4.0.
Build Number LRX21R.A1432346132 and Software version is V20h-GLOBAL-YT
Model number is LG-D855, 32 GB. Wi-Fi MAC Address and Bluetooth address are blank.
I live in Honduras, Central America
Does anyone know what the problem is? Can it be fixed?
Thanks!
I thought Download Mode was accessed by holding down the volume up button, then plugging in the microUSB cable to the phone. This w/ the phone powered off, and the USB side of the cable already plugged into the computer. Holding down the power and volume down buttons at the same time is for performing a hard reset or entering Recovery Mode.
Thanks for your reply.
Sorry, that's what I meant, vol up, not down.

Download a kdz for your version and extract it, flash the laf partition while in fastboot mode
Code:
fastboot flash laf laf.img
Have you tried with a different cable? I had the same problem, but when I tried with a cable different than the original, everything worked fine.
