Mod for turning on the cover screen while unfolded - Samsung Galaxy Fold Questions & Answers

How can I programmatically turn on the cover screen (if the phone itself is actually unfolded/opened)?
Why would I do this?
-
Fold has the ability to charge our wearables via "Wireless PowerShare":

However during this operation the phone itself is unusable, due to it's facing downwards.
Wireless PowerShare is nice, but devices need to be aligned perfectly, otherwise charging will stop.
If I unfold/open the phone, it turns on the inner screen (and turns off the cover/outer screen), but PowerShare is not stopping, so this phone can charge my devices while being unfolded/opened.
Now, due to this, I would like to find a way to turn on the cover screen while the phone is opened, because in this case I can use it while it keeps charging my devices.
I know this is marginal, but this phone can actually use both displays simultaneously, i.e. during camera (cover screen preview).
So I'm looking for a way to force the cover screen turning back on after I opened the phone.
Have you came across to anything that can help me turning on the cover screen while the phone is opened?

Menu & Back Buttons not working after screen replacment.

Recently dropped my GT-I9195. Surprisingly from about 2 feet onto hardwood floor while in a case, must have just hit it right because the screen stopped working.
After getting the replacement part, following and double checking the disassembly tutorials available online, everything except the Menu & Back buttons is working. Home button works perfectly, just not the other two, no response and no light on either.
Has anyone replaced the screen/digitizer in the past and knows what I might be missing. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Look at flex tape at left, down side of screen. It is responsible for buttons but I don't remember is it only for home or all 3 buttons. Anyway if it's connected and You didn't teared or broke this flex tape You can't fix it without tearing apart whole screen. Just ask for replace whole screen part for new one without damages.

Possible missing internet ribbon

Hi all,
Recently picked up a Samsung Tab 3 with a smashed screen and broken charging port. Replaced the charging port now and hooked it up to power supply. Had no life, plugged it into PC so i could hear the chime when it does turn on and it connected straight away so there is power there.
When looking at the back just now, I have the gold ribbon from the screen on the left, new black ribbon from charging port and that's all. Looking online and the back of the tablet, it looks as though there should be a third ribbon on the other side? Is this right? If so, what is that ribbon for and where could i pick one up.
If it should power on without it, will a cracked screen matter? I have not received the new screen yet but the digitizer is in good shape, ,cracked screen plugged in. Will the cracked screen matter or should i still see some life on there?

Can an old Samsung Wireless Charge cause damage to the screen?

Part of the touchscreen is now unresponsive.
The last thing that I did before it broke was charge it on my Samsung Wireless Charger.
- didn't drop the phone
- no physical damage on screen
- no recent OS software update
- screen was still working this morning -> charged on wireless charger -> suddenly became unresponsive
- tried safe mode and turning it off and on already. Will try to Factory Reset after backing up
Anyone with similar experience? Searching online points to a damaged digitizer, which requires a screen replacement.
I don't think the charger is the culprit for the unresponsiveness, I have charged all my notes up the 10+with some really old charging pads, one is an old generic one that I bought for a a note 3 back in the days!

Question Is there any way to set dead zone on the sides of touchscreen?

I like to handle my phone using one hand, but because of really thin case edges and curved screen I constantly get unwanted touch events on screen sides where palm touch it unavoidably. Problem almost never reproduce if phone case put on, but thing is, with case this huge phone gets even bigger and that's unacceptable for me.
I'm willing to sacrifice touch sensitivity on screen sides so I can grip phone firmly in one hand.
Is there any way to set dead zone on touchscreen sides (i.e. outside of red lines on pic), so any touch there is ignored systemwide?

I'm using LineageOS 19 (Android 12) on OnePlus 9 Pro btw.
Same setup. Same question.
yeah, I don't think so.. I also have the problem. I solved it by using a case that is thick enough on the sides. This way I don't have this problem any more.

Broken display or other problem?

I bought another broken SM-T805 and when i start it (cold start) takes about 15 seconds before the screen starts to malfunktion.
It starts to show small multi colored LCD defects on the left side and it ends up showing like you can see on the picture. The screen works to use and all other functions works.
What I can see and feel is that the temperature is sometimes a bit high on the processor and the screen. I have tried to change motherboard (SM-T800) and another battery, but the problem is still there. I havenĀ“t been able to use another LCD-cable.
What do you think? Is the display broken beyond repair or could it be another problem?

Check the ribbon cable is seated properly in the FFC connector on the motherboard
Be careful with the locking tab. Panel I guess could be faulty
For heat issues see the mod thread about using thermal pads
