DIY (well, sort of) Camera Handle Case for my 5ii - Sony Xperia 5 II Accessories

I have always want to try to take more and better photo with my 5ii but it is hard to find a comfortable way to hold the phone for long period of time, I mean as compare to holding my DSLR.
I get finger cramps easily after a while.
So I have been trying to find this type of camera handle case or add on for my 5ii. The problem is 5ii has its own shutter button and most of thse case or add-ons would cover up the built-in shutter button so I start thinking if could make one.

I think some people could 3D print one but I am not yet ready to invest on 3D printing yet. Then I came across this LED headlamp and I thought maybe if I can mount it to my phone case then maybe it would work.
Then after a bit of trial and error I found these cellphone rings are almost perfect for mounting the light with a little bit of fitting.
Here is the end result:
And it doubles as a vertical phone stand.
Basically it is just 2 cellphone rings sticking to the lower side of the case on each side instead of the middle back location where they are usually mounted at.
And the rings can be retracted when the light is not mounted.
Now I can hold it comfortably just like holding my regular camera for photo or video.
With my DIY light diffuser, this "handle" doubles as a video light for dark places.

EzeStand Desktop Stand

For those impatient like me who cant wait for the Samsung Dock.
Just got this in the mail today, figured I would snap some shots (MyTouch Slide camera and it's blinding LED flash.). It is very sturdy plastic that does not flex under pressure. It has no slip rubber grip on the bottom, and on any place where the handset touches. It holds it well enough that you feel confident using the phone's touch screen while in the stand. It probably wont fit with a big case in portrait tho, its pretty close to the sides as it is.

Awesome Stand!
This is the near perfect desk stand since it allows for portrait, as well as landscape, viewing...and you can use the device while its on the stand.
One thing that would make it better is if it could charge a spare battery.
Good find, I think I'm going to pick one of these up for use on my desk at work.
before i buy this, does turn on the dock mode when i put it in for the captivate?

Click to collapse
It has a magnet in it, and works for the DroidX dock mode, but no luck with the Captivate (personally, maybe I'm doing it wrong). Are there even desktop stands for the Captivate out yet that do that? I haven't even read anywhere yet that the Samsung desktop dock does that.

A Case To Keep Your Phone Cool...

Since the dawn of the smart phone, these little power houses are crammed with more processor speeds and memory than a desktop computer.
All the while, these little hot suckers are totally dependent on 'PASSIVE' cooling.
Right now, i'm sporting a very stylish T-Mobile G2 from HTC. I use my phone for everything under the sun. I'm thinking about using it for frying my eggs for a meal, because sometimes, my little phone get so HOT while using it for navigation, and various other tasks that tax the battery and GPS, it's almost unbearable to touch.

I purchased a mobile phone holder for my bike (ON AMAZON HERE) which works EXCELLENT! Except, its not allowing my phone to breath. I like the fact it's weather proof, but at a price of a over-heated device.
I'm thinking about hacking this case, and installing a small CPU fan attached to a solar panel for power. Which I would have to drill holes in the front somewhere to allow the air to flow over my phone.
I wish someone can make a case out of heat dispersion technology found with something like what they sell here. http://thermapak.com/
Any links to another product or any ideas?

The screen has cracked for a very long time but still functional. Just now, it fell once again and then a white-ish thin line appeared at the very right corner, but I ignored it as it does not disturbed me. Few hours later, I think i put a little pressure into this pressure (But I'm pretty sure i am not, because my the only thing i did was to put it inside of my jeans pocket) and poof! Half of the screen cannot be seen clearly (refer picture). But still could function as in I could still use the touch screen mode at the affected area. Could this lcd screen problem be saved without replacing the lcd with a new one? Replacing it is my last resort if I could save it DIY. Help me, thanks!
Yeah, sure, via a software update. That'll also give you wireless charging, but only if you charge the phone inside the microwave.
You've cracked the screen! What sort of DIY fix you assume can exist, besides replacing it?
tired of cheap ebay screens, what replacement screen do yall recommend?
OnePlus RMA. It isn't overly expensive.
From memory, it was around £90 for me.

Google Support says its normal.
The gap shown in the picture shouldn't be there.
Best Joke ever: Google Support says its normal.
I agree, that gap should not be there. Not on mine. Call them back, tell them you went to Best buy or a VZ store to compare and you have this big gap that they don't.
You said you just got it, return it to where you bought it so you don't get stuck with a refurbished from Google..... assuming you bought it new.
Reading the chat history in the picture, the employee might think of the speaker cutout. You could try to highlight the gap in some color.
This slot is normal, try gently using a clean soft bristle toothbrush to sweep it out. That's what I do. Works great for the speaker grills and charging port as well!
You are right but this was the Beginning of the Chat. They know now what i mean but says the Photos are not enough and want a Video or more Photos.

Question Best bike phone mount?

Does anyone have any experience with bike phone mounts? I've only seen Quad-Lock and Spigen Gearlock Stem Bike Phone Mount.
I have this one on my Pedego Element - https://pedegoelectricbikes.com/product/pedego-premium-phone-holder/
It holds my 9 securely as long as I take it out of my Spigen Tough Armor. With the case on, the phone wiggled loose and flew out twice before I just started taking it out of my case and it hasn't been a problem since.
I looked into Quad-Lock and a few others but I really don't want my phone mounted like that because I can't see it.
I have one from SP Connect.
Stuck the universal mount on a separate case so I don't have the bulge all the way.
Easy enough to swap the case when I'm going riding...
Also have one of those silicone universal wrap things which I keep in my cycling bag just in case. Also works well, but rattles a lot.
Best mobile holders are the one-hand touch that hold the device by all 4 angles and they close automatically the moment the device is touching the inside back of the holder.
Like this one at 11euro. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001507407448.html
@FloRida1999 i went for something like
https://m.it.aliexpress.com/item/4000386861121.html
