It seems to appear only on apps with scrolling lists, i tried on chrome and it doesn't work but it shows up on WhatsApp for example

Hi, I wrote an app to take screenshots of entire webpages (not from apps like WhatsApp etc./ only from webpages). If you like you can give it a try , your opinion about Webshot would be highly appreciated!

[Q] Quick Circle Apps missing

Hi,
I've had my phone for a week now and its all been good until yesterday. I have a 16gb model (Three mobile) with the quick circle case. It was working great and now no quick circle apps show under settings, and if I knock on in the window it just unlocks the screeen.
I tried installing some other Quick Circle apps (such as Puppy Pop) but they do not appear on the apps screen. To clarify, i'm talking about the menu under the general tab in main settings.
However, the case is working fine as calls and alarms show up in the window, it just seems to have no apps! And it was working fine until yesterday.
Can I reset / reinstall / clear the process in any way, or am I going to have to factory reset the phone.
Any help greatly appreaciated!

You can try the method people use to remove root as it reinstalls the firmware without losing any data.

After update to 7.0 -recents Apps screen cleared after reboot

Hi,
after upgrading my M9 to Android 7.0 (4.23.617.1) my recent Apps Screen is cleared after rebooting the device. As I often use lists and .pdf's I got mailed (also for work) it's very uncomfortable to search all the last received mails, open them, click on the attachment and have the list open. Is there any way to get the recent App list restored after reboot?
best regards

None that I'm aware of.
I suppose you might be able to work your way through the Android log, but that seems like much more work than just searching your files & email.
Yes, that is really not better!
Well, may there comes an Option to switch it on/off in the future. Even when it would be just can be done when rooted - for me it's worth it.
Thank you for the quick reply!

Photos from Google Camera do not show up in Instagram

Hi,
I recently moved to the google camera (using the modded apk, containing HDR+ and 60fps video), however one issue I have found is that the pictures do not show up in any of the Instagram categories other than Other... However, Gallery and other apps like Facebook see them normally.
Oneplus 3
Android 7.1.1 OOS
Rooted with Magisk
Any help would be great,
Thanks
Just check your gallery already!
Different camera apps have different picture saving indexes thus something it doesn't show up .
Just check gallery app
Here's the 'Camera' selection, the ones in the red box are taken with stock. The other ones are with the Google camera.

Here's the Camera collection in Instagram:

It is not showing any of the Google camera pictures.
I have same problem. Photo taken from google camera doesn't appear on instagram.
Same problem on my Redmi Note 4 running LOS with the HDR+ Google Camera.

No clue haha could be..
So after a huge amount of digging through file details and such, I believe I have found the reason why this happens and how I can show it easily.
The cause is down to the "Profile date/time" within the EXIF of the Google camera photos. It is not correctly set, so apps read it incorrectly. This can be shown in Snapchat, where the date of a photo is from the year 49429 etc. I assume this is because Snapchat does not expect the date to include the day, and therefore it funks up all it's formatting: ht tp://i.imgur.com/CVaV1lc.png (remove space)
F-Stop was the only app I could use to actually find this attribute, and as shown, it displays the incorrect profile date/time. I compared this to my OnePlus 3s stock camera EXIF which did not report any profile/date time, which I assume Snapchat then read the normal date time and passed it correctly htt p://i.imgur.com/xj0sK4N.png
So from here, I believe the APK will need to be changed to correctly report the correct date time in the correct format OR report no "Profile date/time" so that the default date time is read instead. This should then fix all the ordering issues happening with WhatsApp, Snapchat and Instagram.
I've just noted that this version seems to have fixed this issue ht tps://github.com/gladiac1337/gcam

Yes, under Others, but Instagram doesn't recognize them, so I am stuck with only 1 photo. Multi photos is not possible/

Then something is wrong since it works fine in my end and others.
I have the same problem. Had to go to "others" under Instagram to visualize the pictures, and it is still cumbersome to choose as it jumps back to gallery when you go back.

If RAM mgmt has been an issue for you, you need to...

update to Oct patchset. I have some awesome news!!! The Oct patchset fixes the Ram mgmt issue on Pixel devices for good. Looks like it was a leak in System UI.
I have tried to reproduce my bug and I can start as many apps as I want and it does not lock up anymore. You can refer
https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel/2019-10-01
for more details.
Edit: I could keep about 20 apps, including camera, firefox, whatsapp, slack, gmail, messages, photos, play store, amazon shopping and so on. They stay put on my Pixel3XL!! Awesome!
Wow. So it took Google just a year to fix this?

Better late than never right.
So how exactly should this feature behave? I've never understood.
It should stay in the Recents drawer and not reload the app when re-opening?
Link in the OP doesn't work. This one has a list of updates, though: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel/2019-10-01

Not a feature. If this is true (what the OP is stating), this is how the phone should have behaved on day one. But yes, the apps should remain open after "re-opening" them from your app drawer.

Yes... I also noticed opening camera app doesn't kill my background apps (like Spotify, Google play music, GPS tracking sw) as often like before... Let's see if this keeps....
Anything like that for pie? Like, a fix I mean...
Any magisk module to help with that? Or something?

Question Favorites Flashing when opening Phone App

Since the latest update, when I open the phone app for the first time (or after it shuts down from timeout), a few of my favorites seem to "flash". If this doesn't make sense, I'll try to post attach a video later tonight. Can anyone tell me why this is and how to disable it?
Instructions to reproduce: Click favorites on phone app so it is first to display on reopening. Force close phone app. Open phone app.
So, after playing with this more, I found out that this only happens when I'm signed in to my Duo account. The contacts that flash don't seem to coincide with those who have Duo access, especially since one of the accounts that flash is a landline only account.
So far, I haven't been able to find a fix or a way to disable this. It is super annoying when I'm used to just opening the phone app and clicking on a favorite, only to have it fail because the favorite flashed and didn't capture the touch input.
I agree this is due to Duo....havent looked into it, but yeah its a bit annoying IMHO too!
Seems to be solved in the latest update of the dialer app (I received it this morning): 76.0.431816759
