Sounds like a fun thread. There is also a great subreddit r/aww that we should post them to as well to highlight the P6 and the Pro and get some good press.

I think this will end up being my favorite Pixel 6 Pro thread, lol.

Absolutely. This is Avi, short for Avasarala, named after the character in The Expanse. About a month ago, reading the second major book in The Expanse series, Avasarala said, "Meow meow cry meow meow. That's all I heard you say."
Avi was sleeping on the walkway up to our porch a couple of weeks back. We fed her and she left later that morning. The next morning she was sleeping on our walkway again, so I got her, took her to the vet a couple hours later (she only had ear mites), and she's starting to get along with our 7 year old cat Savannah.

Adorable!

Thank you. She's the goodest girl for sure.

Sorry for another but I just have to since it turned out so well. 7 1/2 year old Savannah in the front, ~8-12 month old Avi (Avasarala) in the back.
And one with Magic Eraser on wires:

I don't remember his name...but here is my dog
damn FB does mess up photos...
I haven't put my SIM in my phone yet so these are from my OP 7 Pro and DLed from FB

Love The Expanse, good choice! The show I feel is an underrated gem.

Hazel. She gets to come to work with me. I'll post a picture of her sister, Sadie, when I get home.

Our Rescue Lucy.

Sadie. Hazel's "sister".

Both are rescues, brought into the family by my sister.

WP Titan Rocks!!!

Went to the ATT store to pick up a Titan or a Focus. Had to hold in my hand the diff in size to make sure I was okay with the Titan size vs amole display.
Liked them both, but wanted to sleep on it.
Went back the next day with my mind made up....Titan.
The guy that helped me the first night was busy, so picked the next available att rep. The windows phones were next to the appless display. I asked if they had another titan left. He asked if I wanted 32 gb or something model. I was like huh? I said I didn't know there was a 32 or 64 gb version of the titan. He was like oh, you want a windows phone. Yaa, duh!
Anyway, the guy that helped me the first night said that him and only one other att person had a windows phone vs the 10 or so other reps I saw in the store both nights. I don't want to say someone is cool or not cool, but the windows att guy I talked to was pretty friggin cool and knowledgeable. I overheard him talking to a customer about the chaos that is the android market and he also knew the exact dilemma I was facing...amole vs titan screen size (he owned a focus s).
After I purchased my Titan I went over and interrupted his conversation with another customer to say thanks, and let him know I went with the big screen. As I left and got in my car I saw him and the rep that rang me up in a good natured but possibly competitive conversation and realized that maybe att stores work on commission??
Anyway, I feel bad if that is true, but hopefully the appless guy defers to the guy that helped me choose my windows phone!!
With regards to my Titan purchase.... friggin AWESOME phone!!!
I made mobile phone calls thru a 2m repeater in the 80's as a ham, did IT tech support through one of those ancient Motorola flip phone in the 90's (DPC550?), and windows mobile x.x until now.
While I have thoroughly enjoyed the endless rooting and the various branches I have explored of windows mobile through XDA, I have to admit I was starting to get a little jealous of the apps available to my non technical friends through their iphones.
I finally threw down for an ipod once it could hold my massive GB collection of music but it never set the hook for me...minus my collection of music. I needed something more...
I won't tell anyone they have to get a windows phone, but seriously, the Titan friggin rocks!!!!! I was worried about the size but honestly it feels less in my front pocket than my old tilt2 (boat anchor). The large screen is simply enjoyable for anyone with a history of using smartphones. Apps? The good ones are ported. Games? The bigger the screen size the better, all things considered. Native apps...WOW!
I was worried the titan would be too big...its not, it might be the perfect size. Sign me me up as a converted windows phone fanboy. I really feel (based on tried and true experience) that android = windows mobile! Yeah, there are some cool things you can do...but I want a phone, not a linux box. ah, sorry!!!
Feel free to flame! But I am really psyched on this phone!
I always liked windows phone but idk, I just couldn't use it as an everyday thing. Its very simplistic and I like that. But to many features left out(at least when I had a focus). Well maybe I'll see about getting one again. The titan did seem nice. I also checked it out at the store. I love the screen on it. HUGE!

Anyone who can't even refer to the competition by their correct name, and needs to resort to childish things like "appless" isn't even worth flaming. Enjoy your new phone. WP7 is a good OS, and has the potential to eventually be great, but so are iOS and Android. People who can't see that are only trying to rationalize their own choice, and they make intelligent discussion impossible.

I feel the same about the Titan, it's an excellent phone. When I went to the local AT&T store with my brother about 2 weeks ago, I got to play with a Titan and was amazed how well made it was and how sweet the style was. If I would have been eligible for an upgrade, I would have walked out of the store with a Titan.
Oh Dad!
I mean RoboDad! I'm sorry, you are totally correct calling my post out!
I thought a good natured jibbing in the 'Windows Phone' forum would be okay and got a little too excited with what I thought was an original jab - 'Appless'?
I guess maybe not.
Sorry to offend you!
There is a great Mobile OS race going on, I see WP is a big underdog. All I was trying to say was that I was blown away by WP on the Titan. The handicaps of each platform are well documented, if not well marketed.
My opinion=only mine.
You shouldn't have to apologize OP, I have an Android and WP7... I don't go into the Android section talking about WP7, I don't know why someone would be offended in this section...but rock on with the Titan!

You know what the best thing about the Titan is? ( i own one so i talk with experience) Watching everyone huddle around and iphone 4s (i only use the iphone as a example because this happened during lunch at work) to watch a funny youtube video, and me whipping out the titan and everyone turning to me instead because they could see it from across the table without huddling.

Ewww...that's one thing I hate about my Focus, the power button on the side. I'm always pressing it when I apply a force to the opposite side...like volume controls. And I always press it when removing it from a case or picking it up. Whats really bad is when I press it while playing a game. The hand naturally grabs the sides to secure the object. Having a power button at the top eliminates this unwanted power button pressing.

Anyone else get a little sad when...

...they change their old phone for a new one?
I mean, I've had my galaxy s2 for a year now, and it's been my trusty sidekick, never any problems, complete powerhouse and nothing has really made me want to change in that year until the One X which I will be getting later today.
I just feel that somehow I am betraying my sg2, it is still in pristine condition, has been flashed with different roms multiple times, mods etc... we've been through a lot together - I can feel it looking at me with it's sad super amoled plus eyes.
If the one x provides as half a good an experience as my sg2 has then I'll be a happy man. The sg2 is going to the mrs and I can already see how it'll be getting thrown into her bag with keys and other random objects rather than being safe in my pocket.
Be well old friend
Will feel similar with my HD2, though not at the same level as the SGS2 in terms of hardware, but our bonding is much older (since 2009), been oc'd to 1.5 and have seen Windows, Linux, Mango and got stuck with Android. I'm still quite happy with the first 4.2" multi touch phone and will feel sad to see it converted into just a mobile with songs and games when in the hands of my missus.
Well, I for one will not feel sad at all! That is because I am going from the ageing Desire
It has served me well so far and I am glad I will be staying on the htc bandwagon.

Came in to post almost this exact message. My Desire will be consigned to the phone graveyard of the third draw down in my desk, from which it might occasionally be called back into action, but will mostly be enjoying its retirement
I was really sad when I went from my old SE G502 to Desire...one, because I had never spent that much money on a phone and two, when I pulled it out of the box I thought "What have I got myself into??" But it was step I had to make and got over the initial sadness pretty quickly.
Now...I am saying goodbye to the Desire. Like the OP, it has been my trusty sidekick, I have looked after it like no phone before, rooted, ROM'd, and basically learnt a lot of tech things on this phone. I will still mess with it as Dev continues on that device, but I cannot wait to order a HOX!
I'll be sad, yes, but this is just the next chapter
I'm gonna miss my little Desire S ,never had a prob with it in the past year and it goes like the clappers ;(
No, not really.
I usually pass the old one on to my wife so I still get to give it the occasional tweak. It's not very rewarding though as I have to dress it up to look like an iPhone so she can use it.
I'm currently on a Nokia 6210 Navigator, you can imagine how sad I'll be when my HOX arrives
Wow. I hope one x blows you away otherwise 5+ years is a long time to wait for a new upgrade! For me anyway. lol
probably the wrong place to say this as i know everyone here hates apple, but when i sold my ipad 1 on ebay and had to wrap and ship it, i was sad too!
i had taken it everywhere, and it was in pristine condition, really looked after. used it pretty much every day for hours, and i was one of the first adaptors too (had it bought for me in the US a week or so after launch).
i don't feel that way about my iphone 4 though, its been getting sluggish and the home button is dodgy, and there is nothing special about the phone that i will miss, or that makes it any better or worse than the next phone i get (be it the Note, or the HTC One X, I still havent decided!)
Indeed. It'll be a huge loss to not only myself but my immidiate family when I get a new phone.
I will still pop round to see it at the weekends and sit with it in the garden and pour it some afternoon tea. I'm just glad I still have the memories. I remember ordering a Pizza on the dominos app and.... ohhh... how we enjoying those late night under the duvet while I was knocking one out on the youjizz mobile site.
You never know whats around the corner. Live each day with your mobile phone like its the last, but just remeber all the good times you had together.
As I'm coming from a Legend, I won't be sad at all. Well, thats a lie. It was a great friend for the past two years and no matter how often I dropped it, It's still in a great condition! It will go into my drawer together with my G1 and probaly be forgotten until i go on vacation this summer.
I gave (lent) my Desire HD to my cousin who is trying to develop some android apps and Im using the wifes Desire til the One X arrives (if it arrives, order kept getting cancelled by vodafone system for some reason)

5* post, I whole heartedly enjoyed this
Yeah, I do miss my phone when I send it off for sale.
However, I usually upgrade to a better phone, so that love usually vanishes almost instantly.

I'm going to miss my Desire, I've had it for almost two years now. But the shiny newness of the One X will more than compensate.
I'll miss my desire. It has survived countless drops on the ground, the rare times were I don't check the weather and end up cycling half an hour trough the rain w/o a jacket and many screw ups with roms and mods.
But despite that it's still going strong and still would for more than a year.
Also the fact that I've sanded the brown coating of the aluminium down giving it a total new look doesn't help when I'm looking for a new phone.

Haha I also bought a G502, it's the only phone I've ever bought without contract, so that was my most expensive phone. My next phone also was the Desire, but I didn't feel sad, I was relieved. And guess what my next phone is: a One X
The One X is not that expensive for my, I got a really great deal. A one year contract with 100 minutes + 3000 sms + 1 GB data and I got the phone for free. I pay 38 euro/month for 1 year. Total costs for 1 year contract: 455 euro. The price for the phone without contract: 550 euro
Yep - I'll be coming from an Evo 4g. It got stepped on a few weeks ago and I'm stumbling to the finish line with an old POS phone (as of yet, that phone is undetermined.) The Evo was my first smart phone or even high end phone for it's time. I loved it. That being said, the one X is just better in every respect (especially if the rumors about Sprint's one X coming with a kickstand are true !)

Nicki Minaj. Not really into her, but thats a great snag for this event.
Is there any other live streams, more official ones?
A 17 minute show is not what I expected... :\
well.. everyone is leaving.. no free phones for watching ?
For a launch party, it was a great start... but 15 minute show is not enough to wow the crowd. First crack at it I guess. Should have been more wiz-bang and more performers.

London got the best show IMO.
Wow I wonder how much this event cost.
created a nice buzz...lots of tweets, instagram photos (ironic I know), facebook uploads and its on MTV news and other sites.
This is the kind of thing that gets mindshare started. I liked it. A little short, but maybe better than too long.
i dislike nickis music but a lot of people like her, so i see this good on both parts seeing that she has a album coming out. Nicki just needs a 900 in her hand the whole time shes performing. lol. maybe the phone as her mic.

Big problem with my Note 2

Ok folks, I have a big issue with my Note 2.
When I go grocery shopping, I have Grocery IQ up and since I don't like holding my Note 2 phone in hand and I have the Amzer Shellster in Black, I just clip it to my shopping cart so I can see my phone screen. It usually take 1 hour to shop but since having the Note 2, it take me 2 - 3 hour to finish shopping. Why you ask? Well, so far every visit, 3 - 6 people will stop me and ask me what phone is that. When I say Samsung Galaxy Note 2, they look at me with blank stare as if I am speaking chinese. So then I have to demo the phone for them and that take like 20 - 30 minutes. Today, same thing happens, lady was so impressed with the phone, she kept talking to me for 40 minutes and when you are talking about the Note 2, time flies by so fast and I had to rush home without getting everything wife wanted. So, my wife was very pissed. I might have to go shopping at my Super Walmart after 1am tonight, less chance of someone stopping me to ask about the phone.
Yes, I get people asking questions about this large device. More non-iPhone users would ask questions, than iPhone users. Most iPhone users would just give the Galaxy Note 2 a stare. The few iPhone users who do asks me about this device say they are impressed with Galaxy Note 2. But I really get a kick watching those iPhone users, that don't ask, stare at my Galaxy Note 2. Even some of those iPhone users would give me a evil stare as they play with their iPhone in the store.
What I am surprised is that the tech news media, including CNet, puts Galaxy S3 as the Android flagship of 2012 when actually the Galaxy Note 2 is really the real Android flagship of 2012.
Your best bet is to focus on your shopping like you have a purpose. Mean as that maybe, it keeps you out of trouble with your wife.
Yea I should, maybe should keep it in my pocket and look at it here and there. If I had time don't mind talking to them lol. Too bad Samsung can't pay us to advertise.
BIG PROBLEM?? dont see it,
Yes! I love it. My note 2 definitly has a big wow factor. As in every where I go people go WOW what phone is that. I love it.

When I see iphone users in public I whip out my Note II and find something to browse really fast to make it look like I'm doing something. Then look over to see the person all lost and confused, just wondering what in the world they have just seen. Always brings up a conversation. And most females are iphone users might I add

I've already sold my wife, my mom, and two coworkers on the Note 2.
My whole team at work are iphone lovers. One just got the 4s and has been showing siri off like no other. Told them that iphones are for people who are simple, spoon fed and afraid of exeriencing new technology. My other coworker is in awe with his iphone 5. All excited because he can get his work email on his 5 and not use thr work black berry. Lol. Must be so excited because its taller and actually has 4g now lol. Good way to spend your money.

Ok folks, I have a big issue with my Note 2.
When I go grocery shopping, I have Grocery IQ up and since I don't like holding my Note 2 phone in hand and I have the Amzer Shellster in Black, I just clip it to my shopping cart so I can see my phone screen. If you're single and looking to pick up some MILF using the Note II, I would suggest try shopping at a Super Target during the weekday before noon between 10 AM - 12 AM. My wife saw the Note II in a T-Mobile store and I've ordered one for her instead of the Nexus 4. I expect to get lots of great sex.:good:
I hosted the ufc fights Saturday and there was a couple showing off there ipne5 and they asked me if my Note was the new ipad mini. I laughed and first told them I'm into new technology not stolen technology. So I stated to show them all the features and then I broke out the Spen there jaws both dropped when I was grabbing pics out of the browser and a few other Spen features. But I left the best for last when I turned on Skyvi and had her turn my lights on and off.

How do you like grocery iq? I currently use an emeals.com generated grocery list (due to being addicted to Dave Ramsey's teachings), and am wondering if it's worth the trouble to move the grocery list into grocery iq.
Thx, in advance.
This phone is getting me alot of play with the ladies for some reason. Great conversation starter for them.

I think I get the "is that the iPad mini" question about once a day. But ya, you're right, it's a chick magnet.
People love to ask me about it. I'll be on the floor at work and pull it out to check messages or email and get asked "Is that a phone?" which starts a whole product demo. And man o man the faces when I pull out the S pen lmao.
Also agreed the ladies love the Samsung, further making it the best device ever
Damn. After my first post my women wanted to see my Spen. I think we wore out the tip.

HomeWorks QS, I can control lights, audio-visual, and temperature control. Then Skyvi is Androids better answer to Siri. Unfortunately I can't actually tell Skyvi to turn anything on or off, but I can call up apps with her. Besides HW's, I have smart glass for my xbox360, and Unified Remote for my pc.
So basically I have my whole home controlled by our phones.
Now if I can just control the lawnmower, taking out the trash, and taking a leak during the game.

I haven't tried anything else other than Grocery IQ but it works well for me. My wife puts what she wants into her S3 on her grocery IQ and I just go to the store and the list will pop up. You can put comments in and assign which store to go pick up the items from. There are lot of other features it has but I haven't used them. Best thing to do is maybe try a small list and see how it does. The synching works well but it does a take a little bit of time before everything shows up on the other phone, like 10 minutes

If you're still on the fence about a Note 4, I would hold out just a bit longer...

IMO, it would be worth the wait to see if we get this.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/New-...sung-Galaxy-Note-4-may-be-coming-soon_id63730
From what I have been seeing, it will be regional in South Korea. Interesting if it should turn up here but would it really matter? The current specs handle just about anything you can throw at it. Same chassis with minimal day to day operational improvement just doesn't seem worth the wait. The note 5 would within 6 months of this coming out.

I guess IF we get it and it's close to or the same price as the Note 4 now, why not? If some are still waiting to see if AT&T/Verizon variants get root, it wouldn't hurt.
playing the "let's wait because something marginally better MIGHT be coming a few months from now" just doesn't work for me any longer. Doing this you are always waiting because something marginally better is always just a few months away...
pre-ordered my Note 4 and got it on release day... couldn't be happier... Also I could honestly care less if we get root on this thing or not at this point...
this isn't going to be released here.. s6 will be the first US bound samsung 810 phone.
Did this with the lg g3 and it never came to the US.

Too many complaints, too many wishes, too many spoiled first world people who cannot be made happy by anything.
This is a great phone. Nothing is perfect, because we are all different people who want different things. But as of November 2014, this thing rocks. Sure I am certain that in a couple of years we will look back and wonder how it was ever possible we lived with such a crippled device... but its not a couple of years from now, its today, and today I couldn't be happier. Just sayin'
So far there's no snapdragon octa phone i know of that supports US LTE.. It's apparently a hardware limitation but maybe the s6

A bunch of people did this with the S5 too and all they got was the Alpha which was not only not what they were expecting, but even a step down from the S5.
Just get the phone that you like today and don't worry about tomorrow as it's not guaranteed anyway.

Agree with this some what. But I would wait for a phone if it's a different class. Like I waited for LG g2 when I had my gs3.
But with likely chances of the 810 Note 4 showing up in US is probably unlikely. Get the note 4 now. I'm very happy with mine. And compared to the LG g3 it's very snappy and every all that I them row at it just flies.

Me too. My problem is that i have stoped following most note 4 forums. They tend to involve posts like "the s pen is just too long to be useful.. this phone sucks" or other posts like it, nit picking a damn good phone, and then concluding through the nit picking that the phone sucks. The 805 is a darn good processor. Waiting for the 810, or worse complaininh that we got ripped off because its only been a month an now the 810 is availible is just spoiled whinning.
Trust me, i have as many or more first world problems as the next guy. (Skype just wont consistently notify me of my new messages. Driving me down right crazy)

i will agree with ya on that. i was using my iphone 3g (its my ipod so it dont see much use) but the camera, and the phone it's self was really slow and lacked vs to what we are used to today. (i had a 3gs as my first iphone best at the time (had a curve but it wasnt worth keeping the trac ball kept on going out.) not sure how long i had that for? maybe 2 years
havent had a chance to run the note 4, or any other new phone next to my s4, anyway my 2yr contract is up next month, (i buy a new one around that time.)

Come on man, you are spoiled. You have a galaxy note 4, food to eat, water to drink, electric, medical care, internet, money, meanwhile kids in Africa are walking 12 miles through the bush to get buckets of brown drinking water from a creek that is covered with malaria infested mosquitos for their family to drink, that they will have to carry 12 miles back home with the bucket on their head full of the brown water. Get life man. Whatever you do to "work your ass off" is nothing compared to that. You have a galaxy note 4 lol, you're spoiled by the fact that you are able to even have it. Man people really do not see the big picture these days. Go to the third world and ask em what a phone is, I bet they won't even know or even care for that matter, cause they are more worried about getting one bite of food and hoping they do not get malaria. Stupid!
