Is there any carrier unlock method for LG G8 at&t ? - LG G8 Questions & Answers

hello I have a lg g8 at&t G820UM20t that works only with at&t chips, but I live in Brazil and it is not possible to use at&t, I would like to know if there is any way to unlock it to use with other carriers

It's probably possible to completely flash a firmware dump from another g8 with medusa box.

I just went through this, don't know what a medusa box is but the firmware dump from another g8 won't work. I understand that the locking happens in nvm / ufs memory, nothing to do with the firmware.
I used remote unlock service, only about 25 bucks and it was relatively easy (relatively, there's numerous apps u have to install and quite a few details to pay attention to). You can find them on the tele group for v50/G8.
cheers

You can also visit this website. It's the same place but this is the web info about the service and all the options they provide. But when it comes time to doing it best to have tele app so u can communicate.
cheers

Bounty thread for internation (H850) port to H830 - Potential sim unlock method

This thread is a bounty to get a proper port of the H850 framework. This will allow us to enjoy all the feature of the H850 on our H830. Personally I am hoping this will make unlocking my G5 easier because we should be able to obtain our unlock codes (I already have mine) and do it the standard way. But understand when pledging that is only a theory and no guarantees.
If you pledge please pay up once it has been achieved.
As always this port must be something the average user can flash. Once it has been achieved we will discuss with the dev(s) on how/if they want to receive their donations.
So far the devs I know of are @autoprime and @Miustone
Pledges:
jkhan49 - $25
liushangrong - $50
Total: $75
Decided to sell my phone so I removed my pledge but I'll keep updating it for you. I got impatient after a month an a half.
Hey buddy $25 from my side too..

Can anybody help me T-Mobile sim unlock method ,$50
I suspect we have a CM ROM, will be able to use the key to unlock. The system determines the network lock tips?

Yeah cm should work too I would assume as long as it is properly ported.
I updated the OP and removed my name since I gave up and sold my phone. I will continue to update this is anyone else wants to pledge. Good luck everyone

If you had your TMobile LG G5 for a month and half, wouldn't TMobile unlock it for you? What happened?
I'm keeping my G5 for 40days and then trying to unlock it, so I was just wondering what your results were.
Thanks

You would think but even after FCC complaint and having T-Mobile office of the president call me saying they really want to unlock it but it isn't showing up on their system and they have tried every method they have... After spending 65 dollars in cellphone service and getting no where I caved. Good luck... Never worked out for me

The same thing happened to me and a lot of other people. My IMEI wasn't showing in their system so they said they couldn't unlock it. Don't listen to them. Lodge a complaint with the FCC saying they REFUSE to unlock your phone then contact Jennifer (information is below). I found it in another XDA thread. I got a call back in a few days (you have to be patient) from a Dianne who said they would escalate the issue and OVERRIDE it in the system to unlock it. Later I got a call back saying to retry the unlock app and it worked. You have to be past the 40 days of service though. I'm not sure why it didn't work for the other guy but you have to be persistent and don't take no for an answer. Be polite but persistent. By law they have to unlock it.

Were you rooted when you used the app to unlock your phone? Cause mine is rooted.
Just wondering if I need to remove root for the app to work?

I used LGUP to reflash the stock ROM temporarily until it was unlocked because rooting it after the unlock does not remove the unlock SIM unlocks are permanent no matter what you flash to the device since the unlock is stored on a separate chip than the system. It shouldn't matter if your rooted but I would reflash stock to be sure. Also, I SIM unlocked to get AT&T but AT&T really sucked on it, I never got a single drop of LTE and I even went to the AT&T store and called their customer service many times and the phone was definitely set up right (APN, preferred tech, ect.). It may just be my area though. I'm back with T-Mobile now because it's much better than any other carrier in my area. I spoke with Diana at T-Mobile for the unlock.
Hello
What if You change the IMEI number of your LG G5 H830 TMOBILE phone to a "good' IMEI - that has been allready Unlocked with TMOBILE , and than run "DEVICE UNLOCK" app on your phone ?

Hello nkhater
Thanks for the tip .
It will not work because it will fail/blocked in TMOBILE SERVICE ?
I pictured the whole process like :
1) The "DEVICE UNLOCK" app , send the IMEI # (faked one) to the TMO server
2) The Server will check to see if the IMEI number is not blacklisted / etc
3) Since the number is Eligible to unlock (it has been unlocked before) - the server will send GOOD respond to the phone
4) The phone will be unlocked (for good)
5) then - I'll retrieve the original IMEI to the phone.
In what stage do you think - the process will fail ?

LG G8s \ G8 Regional Lock problem

Good afternoon, dear community members, does anyone have experience in removing regional blocking from these devices. The essence of the problem: there is an LG G8s device for the LM-G810EAW Europa market, in order for the device to be able to accept SIM cards from a non-European region, it needs to work on the territory of the Europa with a SIM card of a European operator for at least 30 minutes with active calls and services. Is there a way to bypass this lock by software methods?
unlock code from the service menu or something else
I want to buy a G8 which is network locked.
Wondering if cellunlcok site could be useful. They sent a code to unlock permanently the network with 50$.
Is it real or just crap ?

LG V50 Sprint unlocked mobile data problem.

Hello,
I have been bought my LG V50 Sprint unlocked phone from eBay by last few weeks. As a unlocked phone all functionality works normal, except one. When I turned mobile data on, LTE logo shows and after few minutes all of my installed app can't access mobile data. But surprisingly mobile data is accessible by other devices when turning on the mobile Hotspot.
Can anyone help me to rid of it ?
Thanks.

It is probably the sprint provisioning on the device. If you are not activating it with Sprint then the tower configuration lays dormant in the phone. Maybe try putting a sprint sim in it then pulling it and putting in your T-mobile sim or whatever. I had this same issue with my G8x sprint unlocked. So I boot loader unlocked it and left the exploited abl file in place which provisioned t-mobile mbns and was able to get my t-mobile volte wifi etc. It should not be that way honestly these companies have engineers literally programming for years just to make things secure and cumbersome and so the consumer or people less apt pay the price just trying to use a phone nowadays. lol

Question Help plz: i need to network unlock a samsung s22

Hello there. I would love if someone can help me with a problem that i have. I bought a samsung s22 in the US and the phone is locked to use only on T-Mobile. Unfortunately as i don't live in the US i can't unlock the phone using the T mobile procedure. Do you know if there's a way to unlock the by using a different firmware or paid service (reliable).

Yes, an experienced professional 3rd party business can do it. It's extremely expensive though - around $200 US
As of today I'm carrier unlocked just by asking a t force member that I'll be in Europe and her for the next yr or so, I didn't expect her to whitelist so easily especially since I just upgraded to the s22 plus 2 months ago with 3 lines but she gave me no hassle about it I got lucky I guess and I do know how to speak to people and be honest. I went to support and chatted with her that's it 20 mins went by and permanently unlocked T-mobile carrier

Assuming that you don't meet T-Mobile's requirements in order for them to unlock it for you, you'll need to get a professional 3rd party company to do it
