Question Heating problem and bad battery - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi,
I have read that many have problem with battery drain and heat problem with this phone. I got mine last monday and my SOT is around 6-7 hours per day and I think that is really good. I Mean you can charge your phone fully for about just 30 minutes so nothing to complain about.
I have download an app that shows CPU and battery temp. At idle the CPU is around 35-37. When I go to chrome, instagram and facebook it goes up around 40-42. What i have noticed is when i disable the auto brighetness function and have the brightness to low the phone is around 36 when i use it and that is with 120 hertz FHD.
I have noticed that the phone is a litte bit warm when i play some games but not if I choose the brightness myself. This is a bit annyoing becuase i want to have the auto function on.
I have read here that install a diffrent kernel should solve the heating problem? But it required to root the phone as i understand it?
Somebody also said that a factory reset should solve the problem. Does that work?

Despair Kernel will instantly fix your issues. You don't need root to use Despair, but why would anyone not use root?

Ok, how can i install this kernel without root?
And where can I find it? I would love to root the phone but i am to scared to do something wrong and ending up with a bricked phone hehe.

The issue is with the soc (SD888) below 50% it goes up to 80⁰C which makes all cpus and battery heat up over 40⁰.
I'm using SystemPanel and Gsam Battery monitoring apps. Which app did you use for showing cpu temp?

How do you install the kernel? I am very grateful for all the help I can get

Get root for your device (there is a guide on this forum) than install Franko kernel Manager from Google play store.
But please do read all the content OP arter published so you follow the steps carefully.

[Q] SlimBean Battery not so good with BBS

Hey guys I am currently in Canada and I am using a DTMO device but I am certainly not getting the kind of battery I was hoping for...here is my setup:
Device is always on airplane mode as I am out of the country
Running SlimBean Build6
BMS Kernel (newest)
Kernel settings:
Fifo/interactive with min= 384000 and max= 756000. The interactive governor has a hispeed_freq of 594000
As you can see I have butchered the capability of my S3 for better battery life as I don't game or anything but I am only getting 2.5 hours of screen on time on Automatic Brightness :/ (AIRPLANE MODE)
I have attached BBS images
I forgot to say, I also use Greenify to hibernate like 10+ apps including Maps, Zedge , Tapatalk etc
I was really hoping to break the 4 or maybe even 5 hour screen on time with airplane mode, and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

He says he did greenify maps in the OP, weird that it's still so hi. I just force stop it when ever I'm done using those kinda apps, music as well... with Airplane mode on and everything you should get more than 5 hours screen on time, I've seen people get that with signal. Weird stuff... what are your cpu states? might be another app causing wakelocks
Hey guys thanks for the response! My cpu states in BBS are weird but I here is the one from both BBS and trickstermod!
That is crazy weird. I would FULL wipe system Factory Reset and caches and maybe even wipe sdcards after back up of things. Do not restore system apps from TiBu or what ever you use to restore things. That is not at all normal or what would cause your battery life.

Aw okay I suppose I should do that. Should I stick with the same Rom? SlimBean has been good to me but are there any others Rom/Kernel combos that are good/better than my current setup for battery life? RC5 of Cyanogenmod maybe?
Thanks again!

Thanks but I don't think thats the best solution. I have butchered my phone in terms of performance and now I have to disable/freeze one of the most important apps of Android? I don't know doesnt seem right to me :/ Phone is useless without maps
Just do what I said, I don't freeze my maps and it doesn't act like that so I suggest wipe and reinstall things normally. I wouldn't suggest a specific ROM I have run build 6 and didn't have any serious issues on stock kernel.

It's not a permanent solution. My theory is that another app you are using is forcing it to launch. This would explain why Greenify isn't helping.
Okay I'm downloading RootBox and BMS Kernel to see how things go on a fresh clean install with no apps (no maps) and test it overnight on airplane mode.
Aerowinder I am afraid you may be right, I'll have to double check that on the new formatted rom to see whats up. I'll post pics tomorrow once I leave it on overnight Thanks for the help thus far!
No problem. 10-1 its another app and more so it will be gone without maps and possibly back after you reinstall maps. The fun of playing with your phone lol.

Hey guys so I reinstalled slim bean with a clean install, greenified just about everything and have bms kernel running on interactive. It seems things are fine except the phone doesn't actually go into deep sleep so I lose 2% an hour on airplane mode which I feel is quite a lot! Herr is a bus! As you can see during the 5 hours or so I didn't use the phone, the phone is not in deep sleep! Help would be greatly appreciated!

Few problems after updating to Marshmallow

Hello!
My current problems after updating to 6.0 are:
-Battery (!) one of the serious problems, the battery just drains like crazy, Chrome take 1-3% every few minutes, i cant use the phone more then 1.5-32hours in average. even less, use.
-The phone became much slower since the update. It is no as smooth as it used to be
My phone is currently at stock rom, I udpated via OTA update and now the phone is barely usable.

HELP! Massive battery drain on OnePlus 3!

Guys, my OnePlus 3 (running OxygenOS 3.2.7 no root) battery is HORRIBLE! I can only get a maximum of 3 hours SOT from 100% to ~5%!
I've tried every method i found. I don't keep location ON, set my wi-fi off during night, i only charge it until full (NOT overnight!). Wiped my cache yesterday and still NO RESULT!
You can see in the screenshots below that #1 app that eats battery is "Android System" that has CPU total 2h 13m. (today)
Please help me on what to do!!!
>i'm a new user and can't post links to screenshots
Same problem here
Android system is supposed to do that. It's quite normal it really depends on usage. What are you doing in the meantime? What is your usage pattern?

Do this first then let me know the result.
Also do you use Wi-Fi or mobile data, if both then in what proportions?

Whoa! I downloaded wakelock detector lite now and i see that i can make it work even without root. This wasn't possible an year ago when i tried :victory:
I'm gonna come back with the results! Thank you!!!
I had the same problem with my OP³ running stock OOS 3.2.7 locked bootloader and unrooted. The battery used to drain by 15-20% overnight and also got similar results while using the phone during the day.
Yesterday night i installed google now launcher. The drain came down to just 2% overnight. For the first time i could see "phone idle" in the battery stats instead of android system.
Will use the phone during the day and report back today.
I figured from wakelock detector that the oneplus launcher was keeping the system awake by creating a wakelock for its weather service in shelf even when the option was turned off. Hope this helps you too.

Yeah, i also have Oneplus launcher keeping CPU awake and last night i installed nova launcher. Now the oneplus launcher is not keeping the system awake anymore but in phone's battery stats there is still "Android System" consuming 7% (the most) with "CPU total - 1h 20m" and this process never stops!
I will keep it 1-2 more days to see if something happens and if not, i'm gonna wipe it.

You can try turning off most of the gestures just to try and isolate the problem. Also are you using any of the navigation buttons to turn off screen? Because that turns of the screen but the phone doesnt sleep properly like its locked. Try and let us know about your observation.

The free app "Phone INFO *Samsung*" does give a cpu temp under it's MONITOR heading. I don't know if it's accurate but I did play a 4K YouTube video for a few minutes and the temperature increased and then went down after closing the video.

Question Battery draining

Hey
I'm currently on MIUI 14 Indonesian ROM and in every MIUI Version I'm experiencing high battery usage from Screen, Android System and Google Play Services. I've already set most Apps to restrict background activities and Autostart is turned off. In GSI ROMs, which I don't want to use because of the Cameras, the battery lasts noticible longer.
Is it possible that Root Access is draining my battery?
How do I solve that issue?
Thanks in Advance.

Magisk modules can increase consumption.
Use a 25/35w charger.

Thanks for your reply. I'll do that today. The Magisk Modules I use shouldn't be the problem I think. Before root it was only minimal better. I've attached a picture with the Magisk Modules I use. Zygisk enabled and in LSposed Core Patch and WooBox activated. I'm using the original 67w Charger so it charges as fast as possible.
