Question Pixel stand 2 AOD - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hi everyone, I've got the new Pixel Stand 2, it seems pretty good, but whenever I put my phone on it, the screen turns off, which is annoying as I use my phone as a night clock. I can't seem to find any settings for behaviour whilst on the stand, can anyone suggest anything?

In the Pixel Stand settings, should be on top right as you put the phone on the stand, there is an option to turn off the display when it is on the stand. Is it dark in the room when you put it on the stand?

I just solved it by finding the stand in the connected devices setting and taking it from there, thanks

Anyone with the Pixel Stand 2 having issues using it with a case? I'm using a Caseology case and it charges much slower, as I assume the coils aren't as flush to the phone with the case.

Yes.
The Spigen Tough Armor case constantly causes a realign message on the display. My Spigen Liquid Air case works fine.

My wife's Galaxy S20 with a thicker case works fine so it looks to be a Pixel issue. Unfortunate.

My OnePlus 8 Pro had the same issue with the same case; it would charge very slowly, or not charge at all depending how it was placed on the 30W WARP wireless charger.
More likely it's phones with faster than 15W charging that have these types of issues; thicker cases equals slow, or no charging, at least that's what I've experienced.

Any link for the Pixel Stand 2 in Europe? (not Google Store, I'm in italy)

I don't know if this will help you (thread started about the P6P, but the same might apply to Pixel Stand 2):

Thank, unluckily FNAC doesn't sell the Pixel Stand 2...

I can't comment on the rate of charging yet since I just got this in. My 1st impressions are good. It is super easy to set up, just plug it in and go. The charger does not care what angle you have you phone at. I have tested it in several different angles and it always charges. I also did not have a problem charging with a case on either. I test it with a Spigen Slim Armor and Ringke Fusion case and both case had no effect on charging. On the front of the charger there is a small light to let you know the phone is charging. The phone does not slide off the charger, the charging plate is made of a hard plastic. I don't think I will be going back to wired charging, I will need to pick up a few more of these.

Charging, it does not matter what angle you place the phone on it.
Charging with a Spigen Slim Armor case, no problem
Charging no problem with a Ringke Fusion case.
Thanks for the pictures! Let us know about charging times. It's too bad the charger does not use micro USB, that might prevent me from getting it as apposed to an Anker Qi charger.

How does this work charging overnight? I'm particularly concerned about the screen turning on when it does its periodic spurts after reaching 100%. Does the screen end up staying on all night?
I know this is offtopic but can you maybe upload some pictures of the ringke fusion case on the phone. I have ordered it but some useres here say the quality is VERY bad. I just saw photos without phone inside.

I've got one of these chargers and the screen doesn't turn by itself whilst using it due to either connection or disconnection.
i.e. You can pick the phone up from the charger and put it down and the screen stays off.
Excellent, thanks! This will be my first foray into wireless charging.

Just sharing one way to turn it from a flat charging pad to a nice landscape elevated dock for those of us that like to have the phone visible in bed with the clock at night. Took a couple of empty allergy pill bottles, removed the lids, taped them together with some packing tape and used some of that rubber matting people use for their kitchen drawer liners cut to wrap up the front, over the top, down the back and around underneath to the front with a nice lip for the charger and phone so they won't slip. Put a couple pieces of tape from the bottom of the bottles to hold the rubber matting in place on the lower side and it works like a charm.
As for the charger, the charger works great. I have no problems with battery drain and daydream clock running all night. I lay the phone down and it instantly starts charging. Only had the charger a couple of days and will eventually get a real solution, but it was a cheap, easy way to get my phone sitting up and thought it might help some others who get this.

I ordered 3 of them, ill let you guys know they treat me.
Can I ask if it beeps when you lay the phone on it? I was looking for some for the bedroom nightstands, but if they beep, they would wake up my wife every time I use the phone.
Nice, I ended up ordering two from ATT. They come today. Funny thing is ATT sent me tracking that links to fedex but is actually a USPS number for priority two day USPS...

No beeps, thank god. a tiny light in the front edge of the charger. Just got mine yesterday and so far seems pretty good. Seem like don't need to align perfectly to charge.

No it does not beep or make any sort of noise. The led light is soft and is mostly blocked by the phone if u place it right so it did not bother me being on my bed side night stand.
Thank you guys!

Case orientation re: charge while using

This is a major pain for me at work. I use this tablet constantly for note taking, sharing network maps, etc. The battery drains a lot during the day so I like to charge and use quite frequently. Sadly, no case that I have seen or used has the kickstand oriented so that the charging port is on top. This makes leaving it in the default kickstand orientation very clumsy for charging the tablet.
Right now I have the Moko slimline case and I love it, except for the above mentioned issue. From what I could tell watching a video review of the Book Cover case, the same issue applies. Has anyone seen or used a case that orients the charging port on the top when in kickstand mode?
Thanks
Im using the poetic slimline case, and although it wont do it normally, I just flipped the tablet around in the case and stood it up. This way the charging port is on top.
No issues other than you can't access the stylus, so if you need that just take it out first. Also, obviously cant use the rear facing camera.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I tried that with my moko slim case, but when I flip the tablet around the settings button is covered by the case and rendered useless sadly. Otherwise it would have been a great solution as the other buttons that were covered are easy enough to operate through the material of the cover, just not the back or settings button.

Tucano Youngster 10.1.
It's a universal case holding the tablet with rubber bands at the edges, which doesn't look much nice, but such is life.
The occasional app might need an app like"Rotation", which supports enforced autorotation. Then you still have the nav buttons on top, but you knew that. Fitting the tablet the wrong way allows to hold the case one-handed easily, stick the thumb thru the sling at the zipper and grab the right side of the case. This however works better with the 7" version of the case, which i also use.

Which stands/cases allow the device to charge while in use?

Hello, I noticed that the charging cable is connected to the bottom of the device (below the home button). If I want to charge the device while watching video with the device standing, what can I do? Obviously the official samsung bookcase cannot do this.

Something like this would work.
This is what I use.... I love it. Used it for years with my XOOM, and now the Samsung. I like that I can use it with a case on it. http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-A...&qid=1399018140&sr=1-38&keywords=tablet+stand

Official book cover works perfectly
When using the official book cover in standing position your galaxy note is actually upside down, so the micro usb is on top. Just tested it

Really? 'Cause I've been looking at reviews of it on YouTube and that's not the case (no pun intended).
I have two of these and you can actually charge while sitting on the stand. You have to configure it to lean the Note back some but it works.

While it was probably not designed for it, and it is not quite as stable as the standard upright position, you can configure the cover for the inclined typing position and stand the tablet on its head. I was using this position before I figured out the correct position. I still use it for charging.
Personally, I can't justify buying a stand--I have too much crap already! So are there any decent case/stand hybrids that do the trick? The whole layout of the Note seems pretty... haphazard. I've got the cheap Poetic case, but to charge it up while using the folding-stand it has to be positioned at the very edge of the table/desk/surface... which makes the flimsy stand even flimsier. (I seriously want to punch whoever it was that decided thin folding stands were okay to use with 10" tablets).
Just got the one I mentioned, today. Confirmed it charges while the Note 10.1 2014 is docked.
I purchased the Samsung EE-D100TNWEGUJ and it charges the Note and has a audio jack on the back too. Works great.

As far as cases go - this one you can charge when using. Love the case - Poetic Slimline Case - bought it on amazon for $13 several months ago and now it is $20.

Wireless Charing & Cases

I'm very new to the wireless charing world.
How will wireless charing work with cases on the new 3 XL?
Are there certain types of cases that will work better than others?
Are there certain types of chargers that will work better than others?
Anyone recommend the pixel stand charger?
You really should've posted this is the Q&A section, however yes wireless charging works even with case though some manufactures recommend removing the case to best utilize the feature. Can't comment on the pixel stand but I have the Nomad Base Hub Edition and it works well. Pricey @ $100, but it's essentially what apple tried and failed (so far, hope they will figure it out) with their AirPower mat.
A super super thick case might pose a problem, but otherwise it usually isn't an issue. I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid and the Pixel Stand and it works perfectly fine.

Thanks for your reply! I posted here as I thought with my questions it might get into specific charger/case combos, thus more of an accessory type thread.
Despite claims to the contrary, the Otterbox Defender case does cause problems charging your phone on the Pixel Stand. When on the stand in its case, my phone charging will start and stop constantly. Without the case it charges normally.
I have the Pixel 3 XL and just purchased the Pixel Stand for it. I have one picture each in the two Google Photo Albums that I have to choose from, but the Pixel Stands still shows me many awesome photo's while using the stand. Does anyone know where these images are being sourced from? I would like to access them to make wallpaper's out of some of them.
this is unfortunate because it is my favorite case but the Speck Presidio Grip case is iffy at best with the Pixel stand. Slow charges and disconnects randomly. However, it works just fine with other wireless flat chargers
Spigen Tough Armor for Pixel 3 XL works with fast charging Pixel Stand and slow charge TYLY Vu wireless charger

Pixel Stand charger ?

I bought two Pixel Stands when I bought my Pixel 4.
One seems to charge fine, the other one charges intermittently, just charges with the white light on the stand glowing occasionally and then it glows amber occasionally and jumps back and forth.
I do have a Spigen Liquid Air case on my phone. If I didn't have two Pixel Stands, I would have put it down to having a case on it, but why does it work on one stand and not the other ? Do I have a faulty stand ? Surely one of my Pixel stands is not better than the other !
When I take my phone out of the case and put it on the suspected faulty stand it works fine !!!
Any thoughts please, apart from ditching the phone Spigen case ?
Did you get the stands from Amazon? Because those units are pretty hit-or-miss.
Both from the Google UK store, however, since posting this, I seem not to be having the issue again !!!
