Question ONE UI 4 UPDATE SUSPENDS DUE TO ISSUES WITH GOOGLE PLAY SYSTEM AGAIN ? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

One UI 4 Update Suspends due to Issues with Google Play System - TizenHelp
We are heading towards the end of December or the current year, but most of the devices are still in a waiting line to receive the official One UI 4.0 update. Samsung has promised to deliver the Android 12 version for most of its flagship devices in December. Looks like it is very difficult for...

Sigh again. Seems we won't get android 12 in December as planned. We will probably be getting it in January now -.-

s6+ security updates

Since August, I've been receiving at least one update EVERY month.
This one is out - and it's not even the end of November.
Its unprecedented! Anyone else? I think Samsung is doing very well. And the phone is better with battery usage after every update.
I'm very impressed... anyone else?
November....
Wow.
December security update!
They're like clockwork now.
And....where's everyone gone?!
I also received the update today. 2 updates in a single month from Samsung!

I know!
I'm like....What's going on? Am I awake? ?
Still... it's good, no?
And my phone is running like silk.
Onward.
I confirm. I get one update each month with the date of security level set on the first day of the previous month.
Another one!
Loving it!
So much infact I just got my front and back screen replaced.
New-Found respect for my S6+!

It would be the same one just issues on a different day. It's January though.
Amazing.... The S6 Plus is updating faster than the Mate 9, OnePlus 3T & 5T, the HTC U11, the Xiaomi Mi6 & the S8 Plus.

From a marketing standpoint it is really amazing, cause Samsung made S6E+ too good. They would normally bury a too good phone.

Even my partner's 8+ is nowhere near it.

I read your reply today and I've checked if I have an update waiting for me aswell and it turns out although we live in different countrires in EU thre's an sec. update waiting for me.... about the same size.
But this one is strange. Even if full LTE signal It downloads very slowly. I wonder why?
BTW you have nice theme. Do you beleive I'm still runninng the stock defaut theme..... gosh...
I'm sure (I hope) You all (especialy XDA users) know the theory of making a device worse in performance (more lagging, lessm battery life etc.) by hidding a spcial code in sec. updates.
Well maybe that's what Samsung is doing cause like I've told You a thousand times S6E+ is (maybe until S9) the pbest fone release yet.
To motivate ppl to upgrade even from S8 Samsung may start rolling out bad updates.
Today I've talked to a guy that suddenly, 2-3 days after the premiere of S9/S9+ saw that his S8 has suddenly slowed down. He didn't install any new apps or did nothing unusual. Even didnt get the Oreo update.
Think about that.
I've isntalled the sec update. Have now from 1st Feb 2018 and for some time I see that espcially the battery life is going suddenly down.
You need to know that since I purchaed the phone I used it only once a month. Latley 4 times a month. Never installed more apps than 5. Even a loooong time ago after purchase I got rid of Microsoft apps and some other non Google and non Samsung.
Something fishy is about that.
WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK about this situation with these updates?
Is there any way of getting security patches while using a custom rom?

Good question but I estimate 90% the answer would be NO

Samsung A8+ (2018) is to get Android Oreo soon

It looks the situation is all set to change soon as Samsung is gearing up to roll out the Android Oreo update to the Galaxy A8 and A8+. The company has received WiFi certification for these devices with Android 8.0 onboard, hinting that the rollout is around the corner. Certification is one of the few final steps before the release of a new update, so this is a good sign that these handsets will get Oreo sooner rather than later.
Samsung is yet to reveal a roadmap for releasing the said update for the 2018 Galaxy A8 and A8+. It should only be a matter of time now, though, as the company will be updating other mid-range handsets in the coming months and it would almost certainly update the newer and pricier Galaxy A8/A8+ to Oreo before moving further down its smartphone lineup.
Update : Seems like A8+ got Bluetooth Certificate as well , watch this space for confirmation.

That's what I thought too. Testing phase is generally pretty close to release. But we usually get a beta program first, so who knows.
Wow! If it's released in 2019, I'll be amazed.
I don't think it's to good to be true last i recall google did a new program to work with other phone manufacturer to get the latest update out faster.

That was in effect on the Note9 too (Project Treble?). Which, admittedly, the Note9 got Pie faster than the Note8 got Oreo (about two months sooner) but it was still February of the following year (after release). This seems much quicker!
If Samsung pushes out the latest software just weeks or a couple months after Google releases it, I'll be in utter shock. I confirmed it says its in testing on Tmobile site. I'm cautiously excited!
I don't doubt that it's in the testing phase. But that doesn't mean much - products can be in testing for a very long time. We can infer from this that we will (probably) get Android 10. That isn't a surprise. But we can't infer when that will happen.
I would not be so enthusiast about android 10, I read an article here in XDA about how convoluted the file management is
They'll be testing until next year, dont hold you're breathe

While testing products can last a very long time, typically when carriers state the next OS update is in the testing phase, that means they are fairly close to release. It means they have the final version and are making sure it works on their network prior to release.

That is interesting. I'll have to see how it works IRL, but it sounds cumbersome.
I'm not so much excited about the update to Q itself, as I am the anticipation and leaks leading up to it. Honestly the leaked video of Q didn't really show anything groundbreaking, which is fine. Pie works great on this phone.

^This! I had Tmobile branded phones from the Galaxy S until my Note 10+. The longest I've waited once it went to testing was 6 weeks. Least was 2 weeks.
While I'm skeptical, I believe this isn't fake and maybe it's the next step for Samsung phones. Fingers crossed! (Go Project Treble?!?! )
Available a month after everyone is using the S11.
Once I receive my note10+, first thing I will do is block updates, just in case android 10 has some serious bugs or battery hogging issues, or anything I dont like, after evaluating o confirmation that android 10 indeed is a worthy update, i would update

This must be the issue my source couldn't identify precisely. Looks like Samsung still hasn't managed to fix this -.- Same **** went down with the Note 8 when it got its first major Android update. Guess we'll get the final proper update between Christmas and NYE.

Well if samsung is fast enough they will hopefully have it fixed soon so the roll out can resume and so we can get the update in December and not January. Since their list does show planned release for fold 3 and flip 3 is december 2021.
