I've had my Nexus 5x for a couple months now, I bought it through amazon refurbished. (My girlfriend has the same device, she bought hers brand new. Her's is the international model though) Here's a listing of the charging cables, and chargers that I have:

(I bought the a to c cable to be able to connect to pcs or whatever, and the charger i had for my Nexus 5 and other micro usb devices.
Standard Google Charger https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_18w_power_adapter
Obviously the middle item there doesn't charge at full speed, it isn't intended to. But my charge rate using any of those devices is still over all over the place within each of those items specifications. So it isn't likely that is a cable or charger issue which is normally the issue when someone has charging rate problems. yes i know the charging rate slows down as it reaches higher percentages to prevent over charging and other types of battery damage.
My phone can be down to 20% battery when I plug it in and it could start charging at 110mA or 2000mA+. Whatever rate it is though, it isn't going to stay that way for very long. If it starts low, then it might work its way up into the 700-900s slowly or to around 1000mA. If it starts up high 2000mA it'll likely start working its way down slowly into the 1000-1800mA range.
Sure charging at slower rates helps the battery to last longer, but when i have no control over this, and at times it discharges faster than it is even charging it is bad. I can actually deplete battery sometimes, if its charging while video chatting. Albeit very very very slowly, but still. The battery life and range seems to be very good aside from this charging issue. The connection port on the phone seems really quite solid as well and wiggling the cord doesn't seem to affect the charge rate as best as I can tell.
My girlfriends 5x charges in about half the time that mine does, or sometimes its even worse, i just have to pay attention to what it is doing when i plug it in. So my question is, is this a battery problem or is there something else going on with the phone? What is it that throttles the charge rate down as the battery % gets higher? Is there a chance this could be faulty and causing it to be all over the place like this? Any ideas about this would be very helpful thanks in advance.
Ps: I really do love the device, it works great, I have no issues with it beyond the charging rates that can be all over the place. I can go from 10% battery to 75% sometimes in half an hour or so. Then i get times where it takes well over an hour for that much.
(I use ampere to measure the charge rates)
Charge rate goes down with higher battery temperatures. Let the device cool down a bit before plugging in, also keep the screen off to allow it to charge at full speed.
The charge will also slows down as it fills up, the last 10% will take the longest.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, since you are the only one thus far. But as I said I'm aware of the charging slowing down for those reasons, and I've got another device to compare to. It isn't the same, and the device isn't hot.
There is no problem with your battery. The phone is badly designed. Unfinished SoC combined with a small battery and a big screen. Your money is better spent on something else.

He's not talking about battery life. He's talking about charging times.
Personally, no issues with charging here. Always goes 15% to ~90% in 60 minutes with the stock charger.

I don't have any issues with my battery discharge rate. For what it is, and what I use if for I'm happy with it. And from what I've read about the usages from others I think I have no issues there compared to others. I'm just referring to the charging rates, the way it charges

But due to an unfinished and rushed SoC, it doesn't charge faster. The charge rate of this device is limited to 40% of it's intended charge rate.

OK, a serious question:
1. Charging speed is affected by Charger (the thing that plugs into the wall), the Cable (how long or thick it is), and the Battery (how hot, how full it is). This is the basic, moving on.
2. Sometimes the C port is buggy and doesn't correctly detect the maximum amount that a cable+charger combo supports. Download Ampere or some other current measuring tool like GSam (although I never bother with GSam, Ampere is awesome), and make sure the max amperage is 3000 mAh. Anything lower than that means you have a low-powered charger, a less-than-optimal cable, or a hot or near-full battery. I recommend plugging it in at around 50% to make sure the near-full charge speed drop doesn't affect anything during your tests.
3. If that doesn't work, replace the battery. Final line advice.

Hi, I have Samsung Galaxy S20+ G985F/DS (Exynos). Few weeks ago I get a new company car, which has wireless Smartlink+ for android auto and apple car play. I was used to use cable, but few days ago I decided to bought wireless charger (Baseus Cobble 15W) to my car. Since then I have problem with overheating my phone when I am using wireless android auto and wirelessly charging it. I am using Spotify and Waze together and at same time I am charging it with wireless charger, but after few minutes (usually 5-10 minutes) it disconnets with error that my phone is too hot and it will continue charging after it will be colder. When I try to take a phone its damn hot. Is this normal behaviour or my phone is broken?

Get a fast charger for the car; you get about 2% per minute with a 25 watt one in fast charging mode between 40-65%.
A 25% charge should last 2 hours.
Li's love frequent partial midrange charge cycles and will get hundreds to thousands more full charge cycles when used like this. Partial fast charging does no harm as long as you keep the temp in the 80-99F range.

Well thank you for your answer, but I don't understand you well. Your post is very confusing. But from what I understand, you simply tell me, that I must buy normal wire charger and I must stop using wireless charger because using it is not good? But that is not answer that i want. Because I don't want to plug cable to phone, because when I have wireless android auto in my car, its useless. For example my colleague have car with built in wireless charger. And from what you told me, he can't use this built in charger because its bad?
You have two issues.
App(s) that are using excessive battery.
Charging while using.
Both are best avoided and both drive up the temperature.
Of course you can do what you want but battery longevity may take a hit in doing so.
Karma Firewall is useful for finding unnecessary bandwidth hogs and some of the battery hogs. Start with that.
All wireless chargers make phone hot. Even if you use it at home and no aps are open.

Excellent point.
A damp rag can be used to reduce the temp.
Unless the charge port is broken wireless charging just doesn't seem like a good modility.
Even at high frequency and optimum primary/secondary winding gapping air core transformers are notoriously inefficient.
These batteries are power hungry critters...

Mine did the same thing, it was 5 days old when I saw it the first time. If you insist using your phone and charging it wirelessly disable the fast wireless charging option from the settings and you are going to be good to go, but don't expect the phone to charge that much, maybe 2% in 5min, something like that probably. It will not overheat, tested it myself. Be careful, if it continues to overheat even with fast wireless charging option disabled stop using the charger when using your phone. I have a suspicion I burned my coil like that, it only took 5 or so times where my phone said that it can't continue charging because too hot. I hope that wasn't the case.
I have been a fan of wireless charging for many years since my LG G4,
with the optional, QI charging rear case,
As the F3 lacks QI charging, i have been struggling to find a compatible charging receiver,
after buying 2 incompatible charging receivers, the black type with qi printing in the middle, from a well known UK auction site.
I thought I would try ALI, as i buy bits from there and came across this type in the photo,
and I can confirm it works a treat.
I use my F3 in a flip case and the receiver is still working up to a depth of 5mm.
Buying this QI charging receiver means Less wear and tear on the charge socket
and also helps a bit with water proofing and protects the socket from Dirt & Fluff

You need to read more user feedback lol
It's not recommended to be using it on xiaomi phones.
The chip in charge of charging will eventually die ( get corrupted or whatev ) and the phone becomes permanently bricked.
Aosp rom's experimented with it few months back , then fully removed it soon after reports came in.

Hi,
thanks for the heads up, i also read that users were depleting their batteries to 0%, using (ACC) then were unable to recover from a dead phone,
i also read that to recover from this issue was to leave the phone plugged in for a long time or to jump start the phone buy putting a small amount of external charge into their battery,
yes this does mean removing the battery from the phone and injecting a small amount of charge.
I might just buy a spare BM4Y from ALI for around £16 including taxes just in case.
I have two battery charge alarms set to 25% for peace of mind of,
not getting anywhere near 0%
IF I AM INCORRECT THEN I WILL EDIT MY POST,

Not something I wanna mess with at all , I've experienced plenty amount of times having the phone discharge while plugged in with that app installed.
Even when I go to bed and leave the phone plugged in , I wake up and battery is 40-50% lower than what it was the night before... I had 2/3 nights of wondering did I forget to plug the phone and sleepwalk into plugging it in few minutes before waking up?
It's crazy bad on this phone , If I was to ever use it for something that would be to disable battery charging altogether and power the phone fully from outlet when in use - but that toggle doesn't work either xd
I see no use in it , more trouble than good in using it. This is a really shet phone , one that I don't see myself using for long.

i don`t charge my phone overnight,
i will edit my listing in case anyone else faces your issue,
with new android updates, SMART CHARGING might be available for all phones and hopefully the devs can make it compatible with the F3.
Samsung already has this function working on some of their phones,

i agree the charging chip might suffer if u set too many parameters, I personally use a charging limit set to 80% and leave everything else as default that should extend battery health and protect it from overcharging or staying on 100% plugged in, but I turn it off at least once a month and charge it fully.

Also tried two others before (generic one with "Type C" printed on it and one from Nillkin), neither worked. After finding this thread, I decided to gave it one last try.
Interesting detail: while trying to get the other two to work, I tried connecting them through a USB-C power tester and... it started to charge.

for all the ACCA Doubters, my F3 has been happily charging between 35% & 60% for the last 4 weeks and i have not had any issues with my phone not turning on.
I've been looking for many years for the ultimate battery charging app that restricts my phone from charging to 100%, to save on battery cycles and thus keeping my battery in tip top condition,
I can confirm that ACCA Nailed it.
For those of you that are interested in maintaining your battery,
this is how my F3 is setup,
I use the brilliant Descendant Rom V1921, rooted with Magisk for ACCA,
Advanced Charging Controller (ACCA),
also Accubattery to monitor battery cycles and Battery alarm by Zoran Vujacic, this warns me regarding my battery levels,
both apps are available from the Play store.
I set Battery alarm to warn me when my battery drops below 25% and above 60% i also use Accubattery to monitor my battery health and keep an eye on my charge cycles.
I charge my phone between 35% and 60%, acuubattery reports that i have only used 0.003 cycles, (this lasts me around 8 hours).
REGARDING ACCA
Do not let your phone charge drop to 0%, otherwise you may not be able to charge or turn your phone on, this issue has been reported using other xiaomi phones and roms.
Use ACCA at your own risk,

Hi,
I use Advanced Charging Controller (ACCA) as in my previous post, i don`t use Voltage/Current limit functions, i just set the maximum charge limit.
ACCA is a Software only based charging app, it requires Root access for it to work, i have attached some screen shots of ACCA, as you can see it has lots of useful functions.
I have also attached pictures of my slightly modified QI Wireless receiver, i did this by putting aluminium foil around the receiver to dissipate a little bit more heat.
As my phone is in a clam style case and with the warmer weather slowly on its way, anything to help the QI receiver with heat has to be a good thing, especially as the receiver is in close proximity to the F3`s Li-ion battery.

Just put 13 stable on my phone and charging my phone Takes forever I mean it's slow as hell..Wasn't the best on Android 12 but hell on Android 12 it was way faster.. That's the one thing I hate about this phone the battery life sucks an charging the battery is so damn slow..I got all the Adaptive crap turned off.
I'll have to pay more attention to the charging speed on my P6P and let you know what I experience. I try to never use fast charging, never charge overnight, try not to let the battery go below 25% and don't charge past 75%. That 50% range lasts me about 24 hours, but I might use my phone less than you.
I had no complaints about the charging speed on Android 12.
Edit: I'm happy with how much my phone has charged in the last 45 minutes, given that I don't use fast charge methods.
I am having the same issue. Installed 13 stable on my 6 pro. My battery got down to 4% so I plugged it in. I continued to watch YouTube and after an hour it was only up to 8%. Something is def wrong. The battery sucked before but now it's even worse
Updated yesterday and seems ive now got an issue with wireless charging. My phone stopped charging at 81% overnight. Its very intermittent whether it starts charging now on the two wireless chargers i have and seems to stop randomly, not getting to 100%. Charges fine using a cable.
Have the same problem since upgrading to android 13.
According to AccuBattery is the charge current around 900 mA. Way too slow and really annoying!
Didn't have the problem with android 12.
I'm using an Anker Power Port III which can charge with up to 25W. It's the same with other cables and charging devices.

To clarify one thing for a number of users, you will not get adequate charging speeds without the official charging cable, the 30W Google branded wall brick and good temperature conditions.
The temperature conditions are generally the hardest to control whilst using the device - so I always charge with my phone powered off and have never had an issue. Heck, I generally charge with a 5W wireless pad and it always reaches 100% overnight (usually takes about 5 hours with my minimal wattage charging pad).

In the end - with the official cable usage - my charging speed hasn't changed between A12 and A13.

I think you didn't get my point. I did a comparison between android 12 and android 13. Since the charging speed is reduced dramatically it doesn't matter which cables or charging devices I use unless they are the same.
So we don't discuss absolute charging times here but the fact that by upgrading the OS of our Pixel 6 Pro the charging behaviour changed ceteris paribus.
I charge slowly over night, the charger i use normally charges at 1.5A max, now on A13 it is charging at 800mA
I have ESR magsafe ring. My car charger is working for about 2 minutes and stops. Battery temperature reach 43°C within 2-3 minutes since I upgraded to android 13.
All of the magsafe accessories stopped working. All of the normal QI chargers stopped working. I absolutely hate this phone. First 3 months - no reception in buildings. Still no 5G in my country even with root and signal guru. Now it's not charging wirelessly and only slow charing with cable.
My new guess is it is due to the overheating problem with the update to Android 13.
A lot of people complain about the high temperature. Therefore the phone reduces the charging speed.
Maybe that's also the reason for the problem with the wireless charging. too much heat = no wireless charging. Just guessing...
ATM I rebooted my phone to safe mode. Let's see if this helps.
Somehow I solved the problem. I booted into safe mode. Then I clean the temp files with Google Files. And now my phone is charging with 2mA and above again. Also the temp of the battery is down to 36°. I still think that is the root cause.

well we know for one you dont need that
just a cable capable of the current and a charger that hits PPF standards
and even with/without official chargers it will only peak 21w
im using a £5 Gan charger and a USlion 2M long magnetic 60w cable that can do data aswell and it is doing 20w peak for me on A13 which is what it did on A12 aswell. Both which i bought before the official charger came out

Nope, still charging like a piece of [crap, so,] not sure what Google did with A13 , I use official charger for fast charge, considerably slower than on A12
But yeah 3rd party Chinese charge and magnetic cable no issues. Charging issues are not a13 related it will be some defining factor like an app or hardware

I am having the same problem
I updated my pixel 5a to 13 stable. It's charging speed decreased a lot . Firstly it took around 1hr 50 min to get 100 now it's lot
more than 3hr. Gets lot of heating while charging.
Sometime it shows "6 hr to full charge" even at (30-40) battery level, and that's really bad .
After 13 Device is heating ( not just warm) so much even in normal uses (No gaming).
My own testing found out as long as battery reach 41 degree C, the P6P will charge at 3.5W only... (While still displaying fast charging). It you put the phone in front of air conditioner vent to lower the temperature to 25 degrees C, then it charging at full 20W.
The P6P easily get into battery y 41 degrees C by just charging at room temperature higher then 32 degrees C. On A12 its pretty difficult to get this... Somehow A13 drive the CPU while charging which I suspect affect the heat dispatching. I used a charging wire with watterage display so its easily see how P6P limiting the charging wattage with temperature.
It was considerably slower for me too. I was in Spain, coming from UK, so had to use adapter. I thought it's the case, but it has also been something with temperatures, I couldn't backup the pictures because the system showed me it's too hot. I hope that was the issue.

Do many of you have issue with wireless charging since Android 13. I have this issue since Beta 4 and still available in stable verison.
I have already tried to disable adaptive charging or intelligent charging, but with no improvement.
After a period of time it stopped charging. A restart of the phone solve the issue.
I use Pixel stand 1gen and 2nd gen. On both the same behavior. I also see this issue on Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 6 Pro both on Beta 4 and now on stable version.
Normal charging works pretty fine without any issue. Normally after a restart wireless charging works fine for a period of time.
For sure I do in beta a feedback to developer but issue is still open and not fixed. Probably one of you have an idea to solve this or have an idea what´s cause this issue, because obviously not all of you have this issue seen until now!

I have noticed similar wireless charging issues getting much worse on Android 13. I have always disabled adaptive charging since I often have to get up long before my alarm and still need my phone fully charged for the day.
Since the update to Android 13, it takes a full 6 hours for my phone to charge from 50% to 100% on the official Google pixel stand (1st generation). On my Pixel 4XL (pre Android 13) the same stand takes about 2 hours to charge it from 0% to 100%.
There is some bonkers bad charging regulation in Android 13 going on. I monitor the charging stats using Inware and find it only charges at <3W at most (where it used to charge 8-10W, and still does on pre-13 Pixel 4xl, so I know the stand is working fine).
In fact, it charges so slowly and therefore takes so long that after 4 or 5 hours, it makes my phone so hot (reaches ~40C) that it often has no choice but to stop wireless charging altogether. I think in its zeal to throttle wireless charging as much as possible, Android 13 actually ends up making the phone much much hotter over the long term for having to charge for SO long that it often doesn't even get to finish charging at all.
I really hope they figure this out and fix it. Unless this is all just a ploy to force us to buy the second gen wireless charging stand for $80 just for the fan... (but actually you say you have the same problem on the 2nd gen stand, so I don't know lol)
I have a 2nd generation Pixel stand that was a Xmas gift, and it, overall, charges really no better than a respected 3rd party 15W stand.
Haven't upgraded to A13 because of the terrible reports from wireless charging, and I'm using Renovate magisk tweaks that doesn't fully support A13 yet. However, when I take the A13 plunge, I'll post how it works on the 2nd generation stand...
i had an issue immediately after updating but after restarting the phone ive not had any problems with wireless charging in the last few days.
A13 here. Pixel Stand 2gen.
I have to keep taking my phone off the stand and putting it back till it works. It will never work on optimize. I have to set it to max.
I've been playing with different cases while wireless charging and monitoring the phone temperature with Inware, and have noticed a pattern.
1. After A13 update, charging is much more strictly throttled based on phone temperature. Where wireless charging used to pause when the phone reached ~38C, now it pauses ~35C. I assume this is to allow the phone to cool before continuing charging (which it often does), but for the most part, the phone retains a lot of warmth (and can actually keep warming) with or without charging so long as it's on the charger, making wireless charging pretty much a lost cause if the phone is at all warm to begin with.
2. I've monitored the temperature of the phone while wireless charging in different cases. In my cloth case, the phone warms up to 35C quickly. It barely cools during the pause in wireless charging, so it pretty much just fails at charging altogether. Overnight, it will *almost* fully charge my phone after 6 hours. *Almost.*
In my tpu case, the phone stays between 30C and 35C pretty consistently. Overnight, it will fully charge over 4 to 6 hours consistently.
In my case with a clear plastic back, it seems to stay even cooler, and can fully charge in under 4 hours. Same with no case.
So (at least in my case) the wireless charging issue seems to be connected to overzealous temperature-dependent charging-speed throttling, which seems to bring down the throttling threshold so low that case choice makes a huge difference in how/if my phone will wirelessly charge at all, where this wasn't an issue at all before A13.
Humm........ So, since I was used to the Stand gen 2 on A12, I just thought it didn't really work on A13. Leave it on the charger. After about 20 seconds, it stops saying to realign the phone and the blinking lights disappear. It works, just have to be patient.
So I just came to post my new experience. I just got the Ghostek Covert Pixel 6 Pro case. I was using an OtterBox defender case. With that case every time I put my phone on the charger, the white led would always bink on and off because it had a hard time getting the connection. It would eventually get the connection.
This new case, I have no connection issues. It's instantaneous. I'm also getting better charging speeds.
With the OtterBox defender case, I would have between 13-15% charging speed.
