Anyone who has disabled the bootloader of your phone only to find the camera has be rendered useless, please respond with your country and csc please.
I'll start:
I'm in the luxembourg region with csc LUX.
This may be way to show Samsung how widespread this issue is.
And thanks in advance for your contribution.

telephone from Brazil with the csc : OWO
and yes I have camera problems when unlocking the bootloader

From The Netherlands with csc PHN
No camera with unlocked bootloader

Correcting, CSC: OWO (BRAZIL)

Incredible, I am told the issue with the camera failing while bootloader is unlocked is a hardware issue that would require us taking our phones into repair! Is this true? Who believes this?? I do NOT!!!

You could point them to:
"Samsung has addressed this issue in the second One UI 4 beta release for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (firmware version ZUKA), and all camera functions continue to work after unlocking the bootloader on this version of the software."

I have several times and also showed them a picture showing they knew unlocking bootloader breaks the camera. They are stubbornly ignoring these things....

And so, Samsung support's only course of action is we must take our phones to a repair center. They cannot send the information to higher levels from the support department. Spam them on Twitter, Facebook, Messenger and Samsung Members will only frustrate with no promise our complaint will reach the people that should be informed of our displeasure...

Sweden with NEE as csc, unlocking breaks camera... Very disappointed, I was close to getting the Xiaomi 11T but opted for this one which I now regret... Going non-root is a complete deal-breaker for me.

Taiwan with csc BRI
and yes I have camera problems when unlocking the bootloader

But if that's real then get your phone to an official repair center and see if that changes the camera status... ^^

No thanks. To far away from me to be bothered. Be 4-6 hour by train and bus there and back and no guarentee for a fix...

Arobase40 said:
It was actually a global message so if any one in this survey could bring his phone to a Samsung repair center we would know if this is really a hardware issue or simply a software issue. If it's a hardware one and if that could only be done by a SRC that means this could be a very expensive operation globally for Samsung...
Some of you might also think about a class action against Samsung...
PS : @bobfrantic , I thought 1 hour would be more than enough to cross your country from North to South or from East to West, unless there is no Samsung Repair Center in your country... lol
I apologize if I hurt anyone living in your country, included yourself of course.

From my home to brussels is 2 hours train & bus then another 40 min bus to the repair shop. The one in antwerp is 2.5 hours one way bus and train. I hope some lives near a repair shop and can go see if it requires repair BUT I am 99.44 % sure it is firmware issue and hardware.

I'm curious. Has anyone taken their phone to a service center to see if they can fix the issue of camera failure when the boot loader is unlocked? If so, please report if they can correct the issue or if they confirm it is a firmware issue that Samsung has to corrected in an update... thanks in advance.

Arobase40 said:
If your nearest repair center is too far from your home, you can ask Samsung to supply you a prepaid formula to return your phone to an official repair center so you won't have to pay anything by yourself and then they should retourn it to you repaired at no charge !
Other solution bring it back to where you bought your phone if it's closer (make take a bit longer delay)

I may look into this but, I hope that in the next firmware update things maybe, a big maybe corrected as I believe it is a firmware issue with faulty coding in there somewhere... because with the z fold 3 phones getting the same issue fixed with their update to android 12... see:
Unlocking the bootloader no longer kills the Galaxy Z Fold 3's cameras
Unlocking the Galaxy Z Fold 3's bootloader no longer kills camera functions on One UI 4 beta based on Android 12. Read on to learn more.
www.xda-developers.com
in the second paragraph, user @exocetd has said there is a file can be modified to correct this issue and I wonder if he has released the name of the file and what modifications to it to fix the issue..

My phone(e973) can't detect GPS signal. I tried to flash different ROMs(ICS,JB,CM10.1 ...) but it still doesn't work. I installed GPS Status app to support for getting GPS signal but still can't detect any satellites. I tried to hold my phone and my father's phone(HTC One X) and stood outdoor. the phone of my father detect satellite very quickly while mine is not. 2 days ago, I flashed Liquid Smooth 4.2.2 rom at AT&T Optimus G Box. Now, It shows like in the screenshot.

Since the issue seems pretty specific, I'd go for an RMA, you might have an issue with this phone specificaly.
If you do, don't forget to return to locked/stock/unrooted and remove the traces

I did KDZ to return to 4.0.4 stock and I also made a hard factory reset but the problem still isn't solved.
I'm not sure whether or not it is related to baseband because I heard that the baseband manage radio and GPS signal. Do u have any solutions.

My solution, as I told you, is to return it for an RMA, the Optimus G has a 1 year waranty so it must still be covered since it came out not even a year ago!
Sorry to see this thread this late, but i have some questions:
1.where from did you bought your phone ?
2.was new?second-hand?
3.is your phone a demo/pre-unit?
I'm asking this because i tested alot of demo/pre units and many of those had gps hardware disabled.
In uour case,i'm 99% surr it'd a hardware problem, has nothing to do with the software.

well, a man sold it to me. He've been studying in canada and when he returned for holiday, I bought it from him. It is a second- hand phone because he was using this phone before selling to me..
I don't know wether or not it is a demo but front face and rear face has a LG logo and rear face has the following information:
- LG-E973 FCC ID:ZNFE973
- IC:2703C-E973
- Made in Korea
But when I check IMEI on the Internet, it shows that my phone model is LG E970
2 013287000006856 LGE970 null 101KX001186 20010101 GLOBAL/GLOBAL N N
You should try to contact LG and explain the situation, I'm pretty sure you do have a waranty even if it's second hand.
Only if he has the original invoice and the warranty certificate.if not,i'm afraid there is no good news.
He can talk to the person who sold it and ask if he has them,but....

Are you sure of that? Have you tryed it yourself?
IMHO, as long as the IMEI has not been reported stolen, you can have it serviced. I have done many RMA over the years (I've been working in IT's for more than 10 years) and never once I was asked for the "warranty certificate", and only some times I was asked for an invoice (didn't even needed to be original)
Try it, if it fails, then contact the dude and have him scanned/emailed the things to you.
If you can't even try this out, there's no point trying to solve anything else.
Yeah,i'm sure. But i didn't made myself clear. I asked about papers so he could send the phone to WARRANTY.
Without those papers,it won't be worth the price. Let me tell you why.The mainboard needs special tools to work on.This special tools can be found only at LG or official services.I will look further on the service manual to see if the gps module can be replaced. If it's soldered to the mainboard, without the possibility to be replaced, then he needs the whole mainboard and this will cost about 200 euros as spare.Again, the replacement can only be done in an official service, because the imei will have to be re-writen.
Not to mention the callibration of the screen to work properly on the new mainboard. It is more complicated than it seems my friend, believe me.
I don't know how can you replace components without proper papers, without the warranty certificate. It's the basic in service .
You said it yourself, if you can't prove the origins of the product, how do they know it's not stolen and not out of warranty? The IMEI is registered at the operators, not at LG.
Why don't you just let the OP contact them and explain the issue
http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/contact-customer-support
They can check with the serial number to see if the waranty is still valid. Many company does.
And I'm not talking about sending it for repairs at his expenses, but under waranty. As I already stated, many companys can service a device under waranty only with the serial number.
At least in Europe this will not work.
Why?because you need to prove you are the rightful owner of the device.besides,in Europe we 2 yrs warranty and it's stated clearly:in order to benefit the warranty, the product must be shipped in the original box, with all accesories, along with the invoice(or any other payment proof) and the warranty certificate.simple as that.

It was released for such a long time and not easy to find a brand new one now. It was around $250 (unlocked). And will be cheaper if u could accept a used one (actually in mint condition).
it seems there is somebody has rooted this device successfully, and he/she is selling the root tools in TAOBAO for 25 Chinese Yuan~
The seller needs the 304sh's IMEI numbers and give you the passwords of the root tools(8 digits)

Does anyone know another way to root this phone? Anyone know what other avenues I have to get this done, or to unlock band 4 AWS as bennyhk has done? He also does not sell his extra band unlock to foreigners... Any help is greatly appreciated.

well, I recommend you find a friend who can read Chinese (native Chinese will be better), use taobao straight away, pay 25yuan by alipay, then all done.
if you go to tewilove 's taobao shop, you will be shocked that he can root so many sharp phones and Fujitsu phones (maybe the only one author in the world)

Its easy to do, but FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS or it will not root. Takes about 3-4 minutes to complete. The very first thing is create a TWRP backup just in case you mess something up. My point was to help remove the shutter sound, but I still haven't found a way to do this unfortunately.
Good luck
Thanks man What firmware are you running on? I am still on 0018, after root software can't be updated (under his FAQ)? Yea the cam sound is annoying haha
Who has purchased a phone from Taobao before? Care to share the trusted seller? TIA

well I did a lot of work on my 304sh, and I can tell you directly how to delete the camera sound .
use an file manage APP, setting, show hidden file.
1./system/media/audio/ui ,delete the files with camera prefix
2./system/media/.sharp_audio/ui,delete the files with camera prefix
3.reboot, done.
Thanks for the tips, are you guys able to do an OTA update outside Japan? I am still on 0018

Yea I checked haha, its not really their fault, I think they are low on funds, Apple controls them, they have to sell a certain amount of IPhones in their contract or something haha. I have have yet to root the phone, in fear that maybe they may release a Lolipop / Marshmallow update but chances are low haha. Softbank's phones are more cheaper than their DoCoMo variants though.
On a side note I really love Softbank's mascot, a Hokkaido Inu, again they only leave the best for themselves, Japan pure breeds are very rare and hard to get. The American Akita is not even recognized, by the Japan Kennel club haha. They mentioned they spoiled their breed.
Here is the a pic of the cute gal dog, I think its our phone in the picture too haha

If it were stolen and "blacklisted", I doubt the device would be working fine.
Unless "blacklisted" is only effective for use in the USA, as Google suggests.
Google:
............... Blacklisted phones can’t be used in the United States, but some companies can unlock them for international use.

tried it....they were of no help
is there any way to tell if this phone was bought directly from google or via a carrier? In the USA or somewhere else?

That's too bad. I guess you have no other recourse.
I would contact Google, giving them the IMEI and serial number and ask what info they can provide.

Mine is a Verizon phone purchased form UAE, it also shows blacklisted but it works just fine. I receive monthly updates without any problem, even adb sideloaded android pie full OTA when it got released. Main issue with mine is that I cannot unlock its bootloader so obviously can't root it but i believe you can unlock yours and root it.

Oh! I didn't think of that!
That is something to consider.
I guess I'm out of suggestions.

If it's working and it says it's blacklisted, it's probably a U.S. only thing as Google suggests.
Clearly someone managed to get Google financing and stopped making payments. So no, you didn't buy a stolen phone. Anyway, the blacklist carriers use here in the United States is only effective if the phone itself is in the US. In your case, where you are in Pakistan, the device will work normally even though it's blacklisted.
For a period of time there was talk of every carrier worldwide using the same blacklist, which would really ruin your day. As of now, obviously nothing has come of it.
Generally a IMEI will only be blacklisted in the country it was reported stolen.

Question IMEI 00000

Hii have a zfold 4 f936b bought from eBay.
It says IMEI is 00000000 and when I insert sim nothing happens.
Any idea what are my options ? Some people say is a demo phone but it don't look like some other says the user trying to root it but failed. Obviously eBay seller won't take any responsibility
Look forward for your comments.

I waited to long can't do it now . Now my only hope it's to find a way to make this work more than using it as a tablet
when you bought the phone. was it specified in the ebay description that the phone is faulty/locked/imei probelm/etc? was it ":buy as is"? if yes, then you might be in a bit of a pickle of trying to complain/return it. however, if the description said the phone was fine and had no issues: how long ago was the purchase? if you paid by paypal, i believe you have 45 days from the day you paid to lodge a dispute.

Sorry, meant to respond but was in out of service area..
Yeah, you were ripped off... Someone has done something that has wiped the IMEI number. Unfortunately it is a mother to fix, if it can be (Might lose IMEI everytime the phone is reset).
Been years since I had to play around with that and the programs I used to use probably don't work anymore, if I even had them backed up anywhere...
Unfortunately this is the risk of buying off Ebay.
May be a demo phone, all demo devices sent to retailers have no IMEI ie 00000..
Probably snatched from a TMO or VZW and reflashed.

That's neither here nor there.
All retailers (Best Buy, Walmart, etc), cellular providers, and the rest are sent demo phones with no modems to try and alleviate the chance of a snatch & grab.
Chances are extremely high it's one of those devices.

Lol, it's not here but it's there... return it. Otherwise you have a parts queen or play Android roulette and buy a used working mobo. Or buy a new mobo.
