Question enable stripped down features - Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

The S21 FE has mostly the same hardware features of the S21, but few of them are software disabled.
Would the firmware hacking be able to activate them (dual freq GPS, eSIM, etc)
regards

I'm not sure. The S21FE has a new motherboard, that probaly means that you can't activate it. Unless the qualcomm celullar chip supports it.

We can't reach the Galileo satellite in Europe.

Hello everybody,
I wonder why we can't reach the Galileo satellite here in Europe, while the our snapdragon 820 processor support this satellite.
The same says also Qualcomm in they site here:
https://www.qualcomm.com/news/relea...pport-galileo-across-snapdragon-processor-and
I'm using navigon and also a test software from play store, and compare with galaxy s8 it has support Galileo, our Zuk z2 plus hasn't.
Maybe somebody knows why?
Thnx!
The CPU may support the function but its a OEM choice to "enable" the function on the phone. Since the phone isnt made by just the CPU, in order to accommodate others functions for another ICs, or to "cripple" functions based on region only, or even if they dont want to pay royalties for the use of the tecnology, they may not implement all the functions the Chipset supports. This is true for the Quick Charge 3.0, for instance. Commonly used on all SD820 phones, isnt avaiable on Zuk Z2 saddly...

Thnx for your answer, at least I know why!
And it is sad.For the rest and for €164 is wonderful phone ?
I was wondering the same. According to gsmarena, no phone exists with a snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) and supports Galileo. Therefore I doubt that Qualcomm offers this driver/software to manufacturers for our soc.
Since Qualcomm is american, and Galileo is in direct competition with the GPS, they may have disabled it to cripple the ability of the EU to spread the compatibility for its positioning system.

Nope only the Zuk Edge supports it.
It seems that the Chinese Beidou satellites can be used without problem on my Z2. However I can't see Galileo ones either. There're only three types of satellites, probably, on the GPS test app: GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU.

Pubg on Exynos version?

I own a note 8 exynos and to be frank pubgm on it sucks big time, even though the phone was a flagship of its generation. I am just wondering if its worth upgrading to note 10+. I love the pen features but would not upgrade unless the gaming (esp. pubg) is a smooth experience.
What is the fps note 10+ owners are getting on pubg m? And on what graphic settings?

just downloaded it, it chose the highest settings by default and ran flawlessly...
No issues there mate. (10+ 5G Australian Exynos model.)

Thanks. What about people using the non 5G version (I assume the 5G Exynos chipset is different from the 4G one).

I think only Modem is different between 5G and LTE variants of Exynos 9825 SOC and so performance of GPU should be similar between two if not same.

This is correct. Same GPU and RAM count, its just the antenna and modem that's different. (oh and it costs a lot more )
I know this is an exynos thread but pubg on Snapdragon is pretty good. Loads faster than note 9, rarely any lag wifi or 4g. In about 30 - 50 mins of game play lose about 10% battery.
Not bad I guess.
Carrier locked 256gb 10+ model

Don't get the exynos version.. Extreme fps option is not there unless u put graphic on lower option.. If u want it for gaming get an iPhone or snapdragon

Navic vs normal GPS

Hi,
I wanted to ask does any body know about NAVIC support in these mobiles , is it hardware or software based. If it is software based can it be installed via zip or apk in mediatek and snapdagon indifferently or u have to ask for special permissions from govt to install them? And how is it different from the normal GPS we have been using all this time in other mobiles. pls do share any difference u found ever in both... like accuracy zoom lvl difference from Google maps etc...
Navic uses a different frequency band and Integrating NavIC also requires hardware changes on the chipset.
These are few hardware chips which support NAVIC
System from Qualcomm has launched several NavIC compatible chipsets – Snapdragon 865, Snapdragon 765, Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 662, and Snapdragon 460.
Huawei Kirin 990 SoC.
Mediatek dimensity series

It's completely hardware based and cannot be flashed by a zip or magisk cause it needs the hardware components to be on the SoC.
GPS satellites are American, NavIC is Indian so if you live in India or neighbouring countries you can get a faster lock on the Positioning Satellites. As for accuracy it's upto 1 meter and if you happen to work in Defence then 10cm.
Zoom level in Google maps doesn't have anything to do with the positioning tech or satellites you use.

Galaxy S20 FE 5G Snapdragon version- EU region

Dear All,
I have created this thread because it is perfect to have Snapdragon 865 processor on the Samsung so called "flagship" phone here in Europe.
Also with this Snapdragon chipset for EU market we have also warranty and service, because the phone is designated for our region.
Feel free to comment, add home screen screenshots or post issues or feedbacks about this phone.
Also, you can add on this thread any useful information about any OneUI 3.0 beta or Android 11 Beta for this device.
Thanks and cheers.
i just placed the order for S20 FE 5g Mystic White Snapdragon 865 with 6GB RAM.
And I am returning the Note20Ultra Exynos 990 model because i get no more than 4hrs SoT no matter what i do.
I chosed the performance and battery instead of S-Pen.
Cheers

from the consumer point of view, maybe Samsung will hear us saying the following:
make Fan Edition to every flasgship which they will launch from now on
launch this Fan Edition variant along with the flagship series, no later
make the Fan Edition with the Snapdragon for 5G regions includin Europe, as they did with the S20 FE
add by default 8GB RAM and 128GB space along with eSIM
also every Fan Edition version to have flat screen
How is the battery on the 5G/865 version?
4h30m SoT with 38% battery remaining, at first charge since out of the box and counting. so happy
still learning pattern.
S20FE Snapdragon 865 version EU.
Question to those with the 865 EU version, do you have automatic call recording option built in?

That's really weird because the S20 line has call recording on the EU variants... Why did they remove it for the FE?

Would you mind sharing what you removed/disabled?
As in debloating... that would be helpful to others as well
Thanks in advance!

Here you go, its a list i collected from several places, credits go to them whoever deserve it (been a while to remember where it came from).
i have used this on my Galaxy s10e and S20 FE 5G, all with no problems
removes all google stuff while keeping play store intact
removes all samsung stuff while keeping Samsung DeX intact
removes some additional stuff like facebook/spotify/netflix etc etc
the [DEBLOAT] ofc does the debloating
the [BLOAT] restores everything again

That is not true.
Here in germany no newer Samsung device has the call recording option as it is illegal here to record calls without permission of the other side.
It can only be enabled with a CSC change to INS.
Anyone know Can I flash Hong Kong S20 FE 5G (G9810) to the EU S20 FE 5G, they both run on Snapdragon 865

Does it have dual sim enabled? If so that's your model code?

General OnePlus 11R

Don't see XDA dedicated forum for it.
They added IR Blaster, interesting. And a smidgen more screen size? and like 1.5K resolution (no LPTO screen). Charger 100W.
Yes, it's budget. Last year's Snapdragon (so no 5G band Aggregation), and stays at UFS 3.1, LPPDR 4 (so you won't see lower temps & 30% less power used like regular 11).
Fold coming later this year.
Hhmmm...
Xda forum for 11R will be small like the one for 10R.
10R 150w for a buget phone is Great ! i use it for more than 6 months.
On Giztop 11R is 499$ Usa for 12/256 Gb. With OxygenOS is you want.

X65 supports 5G aggregation. The X65 was the first modem I would have recommended for someone looking to keep a phone for awhile.
5G Spectrum: mmWave-sub6 aggregation, sub-6 carrier aggregation (FDD-TDD, FDD-FDD, TDD-TDD), FDD-TDD support for uplink-CA, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS)

It is fully 3GPP Release 16 compatible as well which means that it can support any commercially-available 5G band (but may require a firmware update so I wouldn't bet on OnePlus adding bands beyond what their sales info states).
If you aren't gaming (there are massive advances in the 8 Gen 2 in this regard) and you are okay with the possibility of having to charge your phone each day (or more than once a day when using 5G heavily), it's definitely worth considering.
EDIT: Actually, it's using the 8 PLUS Gen 1... I have no qualms recommending a device using that chip to anyone who doesn't care about what the X70 modem adds (not much) or who doesn't want the absolute best performance and is willing to pay for it.
