Question Warp charging doesn't appear to be working - OnePlus 9 Pro

I currently have a OnePlus 9 pro T-Mobile version which I used a tool on XDA to load the global version on it. I am currently on C44 Beta and I came from derp fest android 12. I have attached screenshots of what amore and accubattery show for my battery charging on my warp charger 65W. Does this look right?

Even if the reporting is wrong the percent doesn't seem right.. I tried 5 min on a pd charger and 5 min on op 65w charger and here are the results..

My 65w car charger is a bit higher, what do you guys show on ampere or Accu battery

Hey friend. It looks like it's not warp charging. 2000mA × 4.1 V = ~8W.
I recall reading somewhere accubattery does not support dual battery scheme and would give false readings.
I use BatteryGuru which does support it and asks you to calibrate the battery the first time taking dual battery into account. I feel it gives more accurate data on my battery.
Mine also doesn't warp charge if i don't force it ( i plug/unplug and move the cable port a little until it starts) i'm not sure this is a good thing to do in the long run.
Warp charge isn't designed to be use in every cycle or full cycles it's a way to fill the battery so it won't empty on you.
If you have time to slow charge, do it. It's not a bad thing.

UCH10 Fast charging not working

I have just bought the UCH10 from Sony to try out on the fast charging, its seems charging at the same rate as a regular 2.1A Charger.. Anyone facing this issue?

I don't know about the UCH10, but I know with my Powergen charger I see it going into HV (fast charge) mode. (The charger I have has an indicator for when it's in 9v mode).
However, I have noticed this device's thermal throttling is pretty aggressive. You need to let the thing idle if you expect it to charge at any reasonable rate thanks to the Snapdragon 810 being a power hog.
Confimed the UCh10 charger fast charge working
Only got 13% from 1% for 15mins
What happened!!
Mine came with the UCH10 charger and am using my short Sony usb cable that came with my headset (EC300). I went from 4% to 100% in 1 hour and 35 mins. At the end of the day with my bluetooth headset and smart watch conneted all day (12 hours) moderate use emails, mms, calls. I have about 42% remaining. It only seams to be getting better with each charge. Today it went from 5% to 100% in 1 hour and 22 mins.
Perheps Sony's fast charging is to speed up overall charging at a faster rate. As i was from Note 5, its charging takes only 10 mins to jump from 5% to 38%!!
Perheps they are both using different fast charging tech?

Both are using the same under different names. Samsung named it "Adaptive fast charging" and the rest use qualcomm's name "Quick charge".
For example mine is in the box with standard 1.5 normal charger, but I am using the charger from my dead note 4 (yes it is a quick charger one) which is charging z5p at the same speed like my note 4. Also I am monittoring the charge rate, and I can confirm that samis Adaptive charger charging at max using qualcomm's quick charge standard our z5p devices.
Edit:
If note 5 charging so fast it must be another tech from Samsung (or wrong battery stats - believe me I experienced these few times on my note 4 during flashing AOSP roms).
Cheers
Edit 2:
I can remember that note 4 when stock (tw) is charging much more aggressively during initial charge (upto around 50%, and then it just slow down), while AOSP is fast charging constantly (lower rate compared to samis stock tw rom) but use quck charge upto 90-95%.. It is a setting at the end. Yoi can force set this with custom kernel.

Wall Charger 1Amp or 1.5

Hello guys,
To offert at my battery the best treatment I'm looking for a lower amperage wall charger for my Pixel 2XL.
Between 1 and 1.5 Amp it will be excellent. I read some interesting suties about battery life and how manage it and fast charge is part of that.
Thank you all anf have good evening.
I am sure it will charge on either one, but how fast who knows? If you are rooted and have Magisk, download the ACC module and you can control your charging that way instead.

Older USB chargers are mostly slow 1A chargers, like the cube Apple chargers

I am an electrical engineer, and have some knowledge about how Li batteries function.
I have always wondered this, I always see people mentioning that slower charging is better for the longevity of Li-ion batteries. There is always a trade-off here. Slower charging also means the battery takes much longer to charge, and the battery stays hotter for longer period of time, which should affect it's lifetime. Fast charging also does the same thing, but the temperature is much hotter but is exposed for shorter period of time.
Now these is merely a speculation on my part, I don't have any theoretical or experimental evidence to back this up - I think regular 5V 2A charging is a balance between those two scenarios.
Also, I recall that the peak charging current is limited in P2XL, so using the stock charger shouldn't harm that much either.
Pixel 2XL is my first smartphone who do not Come hot when it charge so...
But I know that high temperature are not the best things for battery in general.
And about the level of charge ? Some people said they stop at 80% to manage battery

I use a 5 watts charger and the phone stay completely cold during the charge process.
Also there was a recent 2017 scientific paper that tested what degraded the battery. It's a really interesting read with many tested model.
https://www.researchgate.net/profil...e-model-under-different-charging-stresses.pdf
Number 1 cause is high battery voltage at the end, second one is battery charging speed. Any speed faster than 1c will degrade the battery much faster.
This is why i charge at 5w plus stop charging at 80% (unless i know I'll need 100% that day, where i fully charge, but for my usage 80% is more than enough for the usual day).

I download AccuBattery and charge my phone from 25% to 80% max. The app detect directly the stock capacity of my battery (3520mAh) but after my charge, the new capacity estimated is 2982%. Is the first value is reliable or I have to do some other charges?
You have to wait for about 10 cycles. It says in the application something like that.

Question Battery charging slow

Hey guys,
hope to get some help here on the forum. I couldnt find any other thread similar to my problem or didnt found it.
So i got the new Pixel 6 Pro and use it out of the box und drained the battery completely. when i wanted to charge the p6p i noticed that it charges really really slow. it took 1 hour to charge 16%. and 2 hours more to 32%. i left the phone charging overnight and noticing in the morning it was at 52% after more then 8 hours of charging.
Im using the original 30w google charger with the original cable from the p6p box. i also tried with my 30w charger from oneplus but didnt work either. i did a soft reset and a hard reset. left it charging with the phone turned off. I tried evertything.
Some of you experiencing the same problem or got any ideas on how to help?
Thanks in adavance.
Try disabling the adaptive charging when you need to top up before bed, this will slow charging rate so you don't overcharge when you have an alarm set that will be coming up within approx 8 hours
i disabled the adaptive charging option and even the intelligent battery option to make sure it charges "normally" but it didnt help.
you need a charger that supports 30W via PD 3 PPS to get fast charging.
OP charger does not suport either and old Pixel charger probbly does not either as this is first for Pixel phones being able to do 30W
i bought the new original 30 watt charger from google (https://store.google.com/de/product/usb_c_30w_charger?hl=de) and i am using the original cable from the p6p box. i just tried the oneplus charger to check if the google pixel 30 watts charger isnt working correctly

Hmm does it say charging rapidly when using the Google charger?
yes it does but it also says 16 hours left of charging
edit: now it says 1,5 hourse left. i will update after this time
now its stuck at 70% and it says full charged in 11 days ...
Have you tried different chargers or cables? Doesn't sound right
i tried different cables and everything ... but now i contacted the support and they change the phone ..

Adaptive charging, if you read the description you need to set an alarm to wake up in the morning, and the battery will be at 100% at that time or just before. So I guess if you don't have one set then it will take forever or never fully charge with those settings on.
I am still thinking of taking this stupid google charger back as there is no point having it and I had to buy it, than that over my older google chargers charging over night at a snails pace.
Even during the day when I plug either in they both say rapid charging, and old charger and new one 30W give the exact same full charge time estimation
If you can't measure what is going on, everything is useless. Get a power meter monitor, something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D316FHM
I have one for USB A and one for USB C. I literally threw away 3/4 of all my USB cables when I found out they were crap.
Just bought one of theses Anker USB C Charger, 65W .
Max power charging was 13.5W (9Vx1.5A), the same as my Pixel 3XL charger so back it went.
*Edit* After reading the article in Post #18 below it looks like the Phone is the problem and not the Anker charger.
I'm still looking...I miss my OnePlus Warp speed charger!
just to keep you up to date. i got a new one in exchange and it works perfectly ... so must have been a "monday model" (broken battery or something) - i am using the same adapter as before
I just got one of the 30W chargers from Google to give that a go
It charges @18W up from 13.5W on the Pixel 3XL charger, so no real benefit and nowhere near the 30W advertised.
Definitely miss the 65w charge from my Xiaomi which charges in less than an hour!
Tested: The Pixel 6 charges much slower than Google implied
The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro charging is oddly slow despite talk of 30W speeds, taking nearly two hours to fully charge. Here's why.
www.androidauthority.com
for the first time since ive had the phone i let it get to zero and shut down today. Took most of the day to do so, ended up letting netflix play for 5 hours straight and must have been another 3 or 4 hours of tiktok before it died. I wanted to see how long it takes to charge fully. It finally died at 7:21pm and using my pixelbook charger which i think is 45w the p6p said 2 hours exactly to charge to full. Will see if thats accurate or not.

Question S22 Base Charging Confusion / Poor Charge Speed

I have had my S22 base for about a week, and while I am still concerned with the life I'm getting (same apps and usage pattern, about 4+ hours of SOT and 15 hours of mixed use) vs the S9, I had decided to keep it until ...
I can't get the thing to super/fast charge. I do not have a Samsung charger (waiting until I get my voucher) but do have a number of 15W and 25W PD-compliant chargers that work on everything from my S9 to my laptop. Unless I turn the phone off, all of those chargers charge S22 at a rate of 10-20% per hour, with Accubattery readings in the 200-1100 maH range, NEVER a value over that. The battery temp and voltage are well in spec. It is currently plugged into my laptop PD compliant charger at a rate of 900 mA with a "time to 100%" of 30h.
Likewise, I bought 2 car chargers that are S21 certified as well as QC3.0 and PD3.0. It has a 30W port. I used the cable that came with either charger (I've tried a ton of cables) and sometimes it gives a "0mA" reading while other times it goes 200mA-800mA at a good voltage. That means while I don't lose charge, I also don't gain. On my 30 min drive home I went from 23% to 24% with dark mode and no apps running.
Finally, to extend the mystery, depending on which aftermarket charger I use the phone itself thinks I'm Fast Charging or Super Fast Charging, reporting that on the lock screen and battery screen. On that screen it says something like 30m to 100% even though the observed charge rate is much lower.
Samsung won't talk to me unless I'm using a Samsung charger and I can't wait until I get the voucher/those are in stock ... I have 5 days to return it and unless you can help me (Obi Wan) I'll be back on that track.

I use my old 25W (original from N10+) charger and it takes about 1 hour to charge from 15-20% to full. I have the DevCheckPro app showing me at the start 17-18W and about 6-7Amps of charge load initially, at the beginning.

Question Slow charge Android 13 stable

Just put 13 stable on my phone and charging my phone Takes forever I mean it's slow as hell..Wasn't the best on Android 12 but hell on Android 12 it was way faster.. That's the one thing I hate about this phone the battery life sucks an charging the battery is so damn slow..I got all the Adaptive crap turned off.
I'll have to pay more attention to the charging speed on my P6P and let you know what I experience. I try to never use fast charging, never charge overnight, try not to let the battery go below 25% and don't charge past 75%. That 50% range lasts me about 24 hours, but I might use my phone less than you.
I had no complaints about the charging speed on Android 12.
Edit: I'm happy with how much my phone has charged in the last 45 minutes, given that I don't use fast charge methods.
I am having the same issue. Installed 13 stable on my 6 pro. My battery got down to 4% so I plugged it in. I continued to watch YouTube and after an hour it was only up to 8%. Something is def wrong. The battery sucked before but now it's even worse
Updated yesterday and seems ive now got an issue with wireless charging. My phone stopped charging at 81% overnight. Its very intermittent whether it starts charging now on the two wireless chargers i have and seems to stop randomly, not getting to 100%. Charges fine using a cable.
Have the same problem since upgrading to android 13.
According to AccuBattery is the charge current around 900 mA. Way too slow and really annoying!
Didn't have the problem with android 12.
I'm using an Anker Power Port III which can charge with up to 25W. It's the same with other cables and charging devices.
Edit: Attached some screenshots
To clarify one thing for a number of users, you will not get adequate charging speeds without the official charging cable, the 30W Google branded wall brick and good temperature conditions.
The temperature conditions are generally the hardest to control whilst using the device - so I always charge with my phone powered off and have never had an issue. Heck, I generally charge with a 5W wireless pad and it always reaches 100% overnight (usually takes about 5 hours with my minimal wattage charging pad).
*Edit*
In the end - with the official cable usage - my charging speed hasn't changed between A12 and A13.

I think you didn't get my point. I did a comparison between android 12 and android 13. Since the charging speed is reduced dramatically it doesn't matter which cables or charging devices I use unless they are the same.
So we don't discuss absolute charging times here but the fact that by upgrading the OS of our Pixel 6 Pro the charging behaviour changed ceteris paribus.
I charge slowly over night, the charger i use normally charges at 1.5A max, now on A13 it is charging at 800mA
I have ESR magsafe ring. My car charger is working for about 2 minutes and stops. Battery temperature reach 43°C within 2-3 minutes since I upgraded to android 13.
All of the magsafe accessories stopped working. All of the normal QI chargers stopped working. I absolutely hate this phone. First 3 months - no reception in buildings. Still no 5G in my country even with root and signal guru. Now it's not charging wirelessly and only slow charing with cable.
My new guess is it is due to the overheating problem with the update to Android 13.
A lot of people complain about the high temperature. Therefore the phone reduces the charging speed.
Maybe that's also the reason for the problem with the wireless charging. too much heat = no wireless charging. Just guessing...
ATM I rebooted my phone to safe mode. Let's see if this helps.
Somehow I solved the problem. I booted into safe mode. Then I clean the temp files with Google Files. And now my phone is charging with 2mA and above again. Also the temp of the battery is down to 36°. I still think that is the root cause.

well we know for one you dont need that
just a cable capable of the current and a charger that hits PPF standards
and even with/without official chargers it will only peak 21w
im using a £5 Gan charger and a USlion 2M long magnetic 60w cable that can do data aswell and it is doing 20w peak for me on A13 which is what it did on A12 aswell. Both which i bought before the official charger came out

Nope, still charging like a piece of [crap, so,] not sure what Google did with A13 , I use official charger for fast charge, considerably slower than on A12
But yeah 3rd party Chinese charge and magnetic cable no issues. Charging issues are not a13 related it will be some defining factor like an app or hardware

I am having the same problem
I updated my pixel 5a to 13 stable. It's charging speed decreased a lot . Firstly it took around 1hr 50 min to get 100 now it's lot
more than 3hr. Gets lot of heating while charging.
Sometime it shows "6 hr to full charge" even at (30-40) battery level, and that's really bad .
After 13 Device is heating ( not just warm) so much even in normal uses (No gaming).
My own testing found out as long as battery reach 41 degree C, the P6P will charge at 3.5W only... (While still displaying fast charging). It you put the phone in front of air conditioner vent to lower the temperature to 25 degrees C, then it charging at full 20W.
The P6P easily get into battery y 41 degrees C by just charging at room temperature higher then 32 degrees C. On A12 its pretty difficult to get this... Somehow A13 drive the CPU while charging which I suspect affect the heat dispatching. I used a charging wire with watterage display so its easily see how P6P limiting the charging wattage with temperature.
It was considerably slower for me too. I was in Spain, coming from UK, so had to use adapter. I thought it's the case, but it has also been something with temperatures, I couldn't backup the pictures because the system showed me it's too hot. I hope that was the issue.
I just swith to Android 13 there are ossue with battery . please fix it .you guys are doing great work
