Question Solid line through screen while wearing polarised sunglasses (S22U) - Samsung Galaxy S22

Hey guys, just got my S22U the other day (along with the wife) and have to say, great phones. Took mine out today with my sunglasses on (which are polarised) and noticed a big thick line in the middle of the screen while looking through the glasses. Take them off and you can't see it. Tried it as well on the wifes phone and same thing. My S20U never had this, was wondering if everyone has this issue on their handset or if it's just limited to a certain batch?
I took a photo with the polarised glasses in front of my wifes camera to show what I mean

You do realize that lcd displays work by polarization, right? They may not look correct through polarized glasses.

Yeah I do, I've never had a panel this drastic though which is what caught my eye (no pun intented)

Privacy Screen Protectors?

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about buying one of these to try:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Privacy-...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item2a160c910e
Has anyone had any experience with this type of screen protector.
It's not that I have anything to hide on my phone....I think it would prob look kinda cool
I have a vikuiti one on my HTC HD2 and it worked pretty well if you had the screen in portrait mode, someone either side would pretty much just see black. BUT someone standing in front looking down would see clearly. So the privacy works only in one plane of view. Screen clarity was reasonably good from the direct on viewing angle though bright sun made it harder to see, but the HD2 didn't have amoled. It's lasted pretty well, almost 2 years and has collected a few scratches, no issues with touch input either.
I did get a replacement, can't recall the brand but came as a set of 2 or 3, lower cost and "clearer" rather than seeming to have a tint. Didn't work very well, screen image was ok but it impaired touch input a lot, loss of sensitivity and accuracy etc, so chucked it and put the old one back on.
Can't comment on the one you linked as it doesn't say what brand it is, so only way to know more would be to ask them for more details and try one out. Personally I'd say beware of the cheaper ones though.

OLED defects

Hey all,
Just curious how many of you received your Note 3's (or older phones) and noticed any OLED display defects? Specifically, if you see any "stuck" red/green/blue pixels? My last two OLED phones (SGS1, and SGS3) were perfect ('cept for SGS1 burn-in), but I just noticed that my Note3 has tiny red pixel splotches all over.
When I first got my Note3 about a month ago, the first thing I did before I even turned it on the first time was slap on a cheap (Spigen) screen protector. I was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt at the time, so when I powered on the phone I was pissed to see what I thought were pieces of red lint from my shirt under the protector. I didn't care that much because I was planning on replacing the plastic protector with tempered glass anyway, annnndddd, I finally got around to doing that tonight, which is when I discovered that the red lint were actually display defects.
On a 100% white background image I can see one somewhat noticeable 0.5mm red splotch in the lower right corner, and then 8 other much smaller red dots spread out elsewhere. On most other backgrounds, it's barely noticeable, unless you know what to look for or have OCD.
I'm not anal enough to do a warranty return over this (though I know many of you out there are); I was just curious how common this minor problem might be? I know that the original Note had a problem with "crushed blacks", which was thankfully fixed, and that the Note 2 wasn't that bright compared to the Note 3, yada yada. Chasing perfection.
(On a good note, though, I did manage to apply my iloom tempered glass screen protector almost perfectly straight, and without any lint this time, thanks to the steamy shower room. LOVE the glass; never going back to tackier-feeling and greasier-looking plastic protectors, even though they're much cheaper)
Mine suffer from mura effect. It only show in compete dark room though.

Same here, my old SGSII had the same defect (even after several exchanges). I think all Samsung OLED displays have the mura defect except possibly for those few lucky lottery winners. I've learned to live with it, but I cringe every night I use it with the lights off. I hope they fix it at some point, I thought they would've by now.

I broke my watch! =(

So, a few days ago I was doing the dishes and decided to take my watch off just to not get it wet/dirty. I was kinda distracted so I unlocked the clasp and before I could actually grab it it slid off and fell all the way to the rather hard floor (which has already claimed 2 phones too) and not it was... something near the 3 o'clock position.

The glass didn't shatter. It's not a scratch or a bump because the glass is as smooth as it always was even over that bit and the touch part works as well as expected. There's a really small dent on the metallic part where it landed as well but it's only visible when the light reflects on it.
The watch works perfectly but obviously it bothers me >.>. I don't supposed it's something that can be fixed?
The other option would be to sell it and get another watch but there's as far as I know there's no smartwatch that could be considered as an upgrade from this one, right?.
I didn't even select it before reading your description. It looks like a natural reflection. However, it is sad to see it on such a beautiful watch.

Rear camera bump angled?

I just noticed while looking at the phone from the side my rear camera bump has a slight angle downward. Like the bottom is almost flush with the phone while the top is out the most. It looks like it's by design since when the phone sits on a flat surface the angle would match since it does protrude out towards the top. It looks more drastic in person. The picture here barely shows it.

I was putting a case on it, and when I turned it sideways the sun hit it just right, and my eye caught the slightest angle. All chance. I wasn't even looking for it.
Same
I have this too. I noticed it when I was putting a dbrand skin on. I assume it's to reduce camera wobble but I don't know.
My original P3 XL purchased on Dec 2018 had it, but i didnt noticed it until earlier this year. I thought my wiping of the lense caused it as time went by... Now on May 2020 i cracked my rear glass, so i did a Assurant replacement... The replacement device i got, was refurb, and was perfectly straight. No lean.... BUT that device had issue with touch sensitivity, so i had it replaced and the new refurb also has a slanted camera glass....
So i dunno, maybe its like that, maybe it should? Who knows.

Screen Polarized?

Is the screen polarized or is it possibly my screen protector?
I was driving with the top down and polarized sunglasses and noticed I could barely see my screen unless I tilt my head to the right (horizontal mounted)
Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed this.
I wonder if it's the preinstalled protector. Wearing my sunglasses I can barely see the screen. My s10+ right next to the s20 is clearly visible aside from being a bit darker obviously. I don't want to tear off the protector to see if it makes a difference..
I've got a WS glass protector. I can view mine in either horizontal or vertical no problem. It disappears if I point the top of the phone at 2:30 or 7:30 only. So really no problems for mine.
Its your sunglasses not working well with that type of screen, i have Oakley polarised and several different smartphones have the same issue for me.
This problem has been an issue for years, a search online will tell you the filters on the polarized glasses negates the light on the cell phone screen and how to work around it, try turning your phone 90° and see what happens.
