Question Poco F3 Microphone issue in voice/video calling apps - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I just bought a new Poco F3 yesterday and the phone is good in most aspects but there seems to be an issue with the microphone in voice/video calling apps where my voice is really low or inaudiable but the microphone works fine during normal phone calls where my voice is loud and clear. I have seen quiet a handful of questions regarding this on google and on here but there doesn't seem to be any solution in those threads for the issue other than to try disabling "Google's" permission for microphone which I did but it didn't help. Also, I am currently on MIUI 12.5.6 which is the highest version available to me. Any help would be appreciated.

I had this same issue in aosp roms. I never get this in MIUI. Maybe it helps to flash a Xiaomi eu rom.

Thank you for the reply But this is a brand new device that I just got yesterday and its still under the return period in amazon (where i got it from) so I would rather not flash custom roms or unlock bootloader. I was just hopeful that someone had an fix that works in stock rom. If there is no fix then I might just return the device. Again, much appreciated.

Just an update, I decided to return the phone because there doesn't seem to be any fix for the low microphone issue during voice/video calls in POCO F3 other than trying to flash custom roms, which may or may not fix the issue. I don't think most POCO F3 has this issue though so new buyers can probably buy this phone without worries. Its a great phone for the price range but it would have been nice if there was an update to fix it or a simple software fix for the issue.

It's a shame you had such problems with it. I also have a very annoying error with the proximity sensor. But that is also known. And also tends me to sell the F3 and switch to another brand. Xiaomi can not program software without error. And throw out one smartphone after another. Miui is total garbage. And it can not be that I have to flash a Rom that everything is more user-friendly.
Which smartphone will you choose now?

I didn't buy phone for me but I think I will go the safe route and go with some mid-range Samsung because at least they have their software mostly in order and hardware errors are minimal (apart from Note 7 explosions and S20 FE ghost touch issue, lol). This was the first Xiaomi/POCO phone that I bought and it was because of the amazing SOC for the price and the great custom developer support but I would probably not buy another Xiaomi/POCO after this. Anyway, I don't want to make this thread into a chat session, haha. Cheers, mate.

Device extremely lag and freeze A LOT even after 3 clean flash through MI FLASH

Hi guys, since 01/01/2018 my device is lagging and freezing A LOT. It started suddenly. I was using it normally, then put it aside for like 20 minutes and when I pick it back it was extremely lag and freezing almost every second.
I was on latest Global Beta ROM from 7.12.14. Factory Reset through settings menu couldn't fix it. In fact, it only got worse. It spent a whole night just looping on the Mi logo. After hour, in the morning, I picked it and it was on that Language Setup screen. But totally freezed. I kept pressing my languague option and nothing happaned. After 6 ~ 8hs I finally managed to enter developers settings and activate USB Debbuging and OEM Unlock option.
After 3 days I managed to unlock my bootloader and tried to flash the same ROM again through Mi Flash. Device kept extremely lag and freezing. I already flash 3 different ROMs, Beta and Stable and nothing changes.
I flashed TWRP but even there the phone freezes. I couldn't even make a backup or flash a ROM. Then I flashed another ROM through Mi Flash and still nothing changes.
Right now I'm waiting for my device to unfroze and try to install TWRP once again.
I'm starting to think that maybe it's a hardware problem. I bought it through Gearbest. I'm almost giving up on trying to fix it myself and contacting Gearbest.
Anyone get any advice of what shoud I do? Or have any experience with Gearbest warranty?
I am sure there are so many other also experience this problem, including me. This really annoying. I am thinking to move back to Miui 8 to see if the problem still persist
What rom did you flash with MI Flash?
If i were you what i would do is the next. Flash the latest stable version for you MI 6 variant, relock bootloader and send it for warranty.
Those issues sound way too "extreme" for an stable rom even for a MIUI rom.
I had the same issue with my 5s. It was a hardware problem so you will probably want to exchange it.
I gave up. I've flashed a bunch of different MIUI ROMs through Mi Flash, both Chinese and Global, beta and stable and still nothing. It's a hardware issue.
I contacted Gearbest and they asked me to send the phone for them to repair. But I'm from Brazil and it would cost too much to send it to China. Also I would have to wait like 3 or more months to get it back and would have to pay import taxes again.
In my case it wouldn't be worth. So I ended up picking a 100 USD refund and will try to sell it with this defect here in my country.
I loved this device. Gonna miss it. I ordered a Moto Z2 Force locally. Hope its as good as Mi6.

What a shame. I love this phone.
Did you try flashing the stable global?
I have the ceramic version - beautiful - then I used a silicon cleaner on it and it clogged my earpiece.
The phone is still perfect except...I can't hear ANYTHING! ?
AH.

Yes. As mentioned before, I've tried dozen of ROMs. Chinese and Global, Beta and Stable. No fix.
My Z2 Force arrived two days ago. Amazing device. It's bigger but has a better grip than Mi6. It's not as slippery. Battery is also quite good, even through it's only 2700mah. Mi6 is obviously better in this scenario, but Z2F isn't bad.
Overall it's feels faster and smoother than Mi6 due to it's stockish Android. I miss some features of Miui, but damn it's good to have a proper notification bar again.
I almost don't take pictures, but the rear camera seems a bit better. The front one is definitely better and even has a dedicated flash.
Hope to have better luck with this device.
What a shame! Even got back to MIUI8 does not fix it. Wtf Xiaomi has done with this model???

I'm almost sure it's a hardware problem. Maybe a defective lot. I've seen some people reporting the same issue since mine started happening.
Flash the latest stable ROM, relock bootloader and send it to warranty. It's the best thing to do.
mi6 freezing a lot (and how I fix it)
Hey!
My mi6 has a same problem. But I just buy the a good launcher like Nova launcher and a iconpack. So since this change there is no freezing at the moment.
Maybe your problem can be fix too. There is no cost to try;
I found your post when I was searching a solution for my case. For me just a little change and the device is fast again without freezing.
a thanks from another brazilian!

Question Regular, repeatable shutdowns

Someone please give me hope.
I've got this phone yesterday and it keeps turning itself off when locked. If my phone doesn't receive a "wake up signal" like a notificationn or isn't in charge it will turn off in around 5 minutes (measured with a clock). This is not a sudden shutdown or crash ,you can see the logo on the screen.
Neither safe boot nor factory reset solved the problem.
Returning it and buying it again at the same price is impossible now so i'm hoping for a fix before the return window ends.
Can Xiaomi fix my (and probably others) phone in less than a month or is better to throw the towel now and go for a full refund?
Oh.. Had a few unexpected shutdowns Yesterday.. and one today.. but it's Not reproduceable.
Have you tried to enable AOD? Maybe this is a workaround....
Yeah, even with AOD permanently on after around 5min the phone shuts off. I've also tried running the clock app in chrono mode in the background with no results.
Rightnow i'm trying to reinstall miui 12.0.2 cause i don't understand if this is an hardware problem or a software one.
Also we don't know how widespread this problem is, a lot of people are happy with their F£ but it's impossible not to notice a problem this serious
Just ordered the phone, will come in a week, what version of MIUI does it come with, Global stable or Global beta?
Bro try unlocking bootloader and installing xiaomi.eu

I have the same problem. Got it yesterday, went to sleep and in the morning the phone was rebooted/crashed.
Had to put in Sim pin and Device pin again just like after a reboot.
I hope this gets fixed soon.
Same problem here, I have the f3 for ten days with MIUI Global 12.0.4 (Italian Country), several reboots (four) almost always at night under charge, but once even during the day in front of my eyes, another time I have found the smartphone completely turned off, at this point I don't know whether to ask for a refund because I don't know if it's a SW or HW problem
There are several users who are reporting this problem
Hmmm i think the update from yesterday solved the problem for me.
I didn´t have a reboot this night.
Edit: Had another reboot this night, so update didn´t help.
UPDATE: i've updated the phone to 12.0.4 and the problem still remains. i will ship it back to Amazon in a few days. Also the problem got even worse ( before update): it's the second time i've found the phone with 0 charge after one of those shutdowns. The "when isn't in charge" part of the OP is also wrong, in the last days the phone switched of even while charging
Had a reboot this night on 12.0.4
Before putting it definetly inside the box after factory reset i've tried to start the phone again and then lock the screen at the welcome page. After 10 mins i've found it turned off
Same problem for me. I wonder, does it also happen on xiaomi.eu rom? Hope its not a hardware fault.

Pretty sure it´s just a software Problem. During my search for a solution i found out, the Poco x3 had the same problem.

That can't be, if it was a software problem all of us on MIUI will have the same experience. I think mine is a hardware problem cause is worse than anyone here. Also a lot of people do not have any problems so maybe is a QC issue on some component like the power management chip
I dont have any shutdowns or reboots at night, but i use an old charger with 800mA.
My Shutdowns come If i disable AOD.

Question Updated to MIUI 12.5.3 and fingerprint sensor stopped working.

Hello everyone! Hope you're doing ok!
As the title says, I updated to MIUI 12.5.3 Global stable rom (from OTA) and then I started having issues with the fingerprint sensor, only working half of the time. Then, suddenly, it stopped working completely. I've read online that it has happened to many people on many devices. The only answer I can find is to flash xiaomi.eu rom on my phone. Does anybody knows if installing xiaomi.eu would help? Does anybody have had this same issue before?
My phone is 3 months old, I always use a case and screen protector, and I haven't dropped it strong. (It fell off of my hands a couple times, 2 or 3, but without any major impact, had a very safe landing haha so I doubt the fingerprint sensor broke.)
I'm trying to find any kind of solution to this problem, as I always use the fingerprint sensor
Thanks in advance!

Same problem, any fix???
I have bad news. I managed to install xiaomu.eu, I'm on MIUI 12.5.5 and sadly, the issue was not fixed. I thought that installing the most recent version of xiaomi.eu would solve the problem, but no...
I don't know if going back to MIUI 12.0 would solve it, as the problem appeared when I upgraded it to 12.5.3, but I won't try it for now because i'm kinda tired of re-setting my phone and apps lol.
If someone downgrades to MIUI 12.0, global or eu rom, and it solves the problem, please let us know!
it won't be solved by changing ROMs as it's an hardware issue. Go to the service centre and get it replaced

The thing is I'm not so sure its a hardware issue. The problem started when I updated to MIUI 12.5.3 and the fingerprint stopped working, and more people have the same issue after updating too.
But as changing the rom didnt work, I can assume maybe, in my case, is a hardware issue... And I doubt it tho, because I haven't dropped my phone as hard for it to broke.. unless the sensor is so weak it breaks with a little drop
I had the same issue, unlocked bootloader, flashed crdroid, and fingerprint stopped working, thought it was due to custom rom, flashed OG MIUI Firmware locked bootloader and fingerprint still wasn't working, claimed my phones warranty and the service center told me that they'd have to replace the fingerprint and the problem maybe with the motherboard as well.
So it is an hardware problem? Seriously?

Yes, it's a hardware issue. Last week I brought my mi 11 lite to the service centre and they replaced the fingerprint module and it's working again
So why the fingerprint with the previous software still active?
Happened to me 2 days ago, phone was just 3 months old.
It's hardware issue, sensor on mine Mi 11 lite 5g died two months after I bought it.Flashing older roms won't help...In my country there is no way to raplace it so I've got other phone...
Im not use fingerprint use faceid

M.I.U.I 12.5.5.0 fixed the deadboot in poco m3?

Short answer no.
Ok.. so i had to redo this since 2 tester phones out of 3 still died nonetheless.
I had to go to telegram of some of my indian friends and had to consult what is actually happening to their poco x3 pro. Which is prolly similar to what is happening with poco m3
And one conclusion is that it is actually a hardware issue . Regardless of manufacturing date on phones this issue will still persist not on all phones but rather a certain percentage and such not everyone will have this issue.
this is the link for the video version of pocox3 brick conclusion.
Custom roms will not fix it but will prolly make it worst .
Just send it to service center as long as you didnt open it you are good.
M3 broken because fail product, can replace MB before warranty.

Question Motherboard replaced and different smartphone model! HELP

hi guys, I recently sent my Xiaomi MI 11 Lite 5G NE to repair for a problem with the mobile networks ... Picked up yesterday and everything works fine.
Tonight I was tweaking a bit in the settings and I realized that the model in the phone info does not match the one printed on the back of the phone!
On the back of the phone is printed 'Model: 2109119DG' and in the settings 'M2101K9G'... which corresponds to the Xiaomi MI 11 Lite ... NOT NE!
Another thing ... Checking with AIDA64 also the processor turns out to be that of the Xiaomi MI 11 Lite 5G not NE ...
Could it be because they installed a wrong motherboard? I'm going to the store tomorrow but I wanted to Hear your opinion.
Thanks a lot..
Yes, they probably replaced the motherboard with the non-NE one. You're kinda lucky and unlucky at the same time lol. The NE is a bit inferior to the Mi 11 Lite 5G, but the NE is the one widely available.

Thanks for the answer ... What would you do? I think I will send it back to repair .. again
mmm... Are you sure they just changed the motherboard? Maybe they just replaced your phone totally.
Did you check the IMEI numbers?
I was also following you regarding the mobile data issue, if the issue is gone and you don't have any issue with this non-NE mobile, I would keep it.
As your messages are from last week, just tell us what you decide and if mobile data issues are totally gone.
Thanks!
Hi Raulci ... Yes, the phone now works perfectly, I also noticed that the proximity sensor has improved. I am sure that the motherboard has been changed and not the phone cause as I said in the post, on the back of the phone is engraved the model corresponding to NE, and in the phone settings the model corresponds to non-NE (like the processor etc...). I'm pretty sure they installed a "wrong" motherboard. I went back to the shop and they told me that that is the motherboard that Xiaomi sent and they can't do anything about it. I wrote to Xiaomi assistance and they told me after some checks it turns out that the motherboard is original and correct for my model ... I know it's not a problem but this is not the way I like to work, unfortunately this is definitely the first and last experience with Xiaomi...

Sorry for the double post i can't delete the First One
Very very strange case... It's clear that the motherboard is for renoir, not lisa, but Xiaomi says it's correct, it makes no sense! Very weird.
Fortunately, I think you were lucky. Now problems are gone with your phone.
Be careful if you update MIUI manually, you should use Lisa or renoir rom? Better do it by OTA.
Thanks for your feedback.
You are lucky getting an free upgrade to 780G, which is equal to 855+
Thats strange. Its must be that xiaomi knows that they have messed up with wrong motherboard for 11 lite ne 5g with bad modems, not able to deliver performance, so this is their way of solving problems.
But any such act should be informed. User should be aware before replacement.

The OP could demand a full refund.
That's basically theft by deception.
If the substituted mobo puts you in a better position then go with it.
