Question Can someone help me with some Do Not Disturb issues? - Samsung Galaxy S22

Lately I've never remembered to post and ask, surely will be a lot easier than endlessly thumbing through the phone to try and find the right settings. Hoping someone here may have been through this recently and has it fresh on their mind.
With my alarm set, it does activate audibly the way it should while Do Not Disturb is active. However, the screen remains on the dimmed Always On screen. I guess technically speaking, the alarm does not come on top when in Do Not Disturb mode.
I have starred contacts which are allowed to ring through my Do Not Disturb, one of which is my work. When I take a phone call, I can see who is calling me, but have to unlock the phone and sometimes bring the phone app up before I can answer. The actual answer button is not shown on the display.
I guess the most critical is needing help with #2. It might sound petty, but when you are in deep sleep and work calls you at 3am and you miss their call........its rather frustrating on both ends. If I didn't have self-control I would have snapped a few phones in half already.
FWIW, this was prevalent on my S20 Ultra as well (G988U), and my current device is the S20 Ultra (S908U).
Any help or suggestions are much appreciated!

not sure if this will work, but try adding "clock" or whichever alarm app you are using as the Exceptions to the DND.
As for the contacts, try to reproduce it by purposefully starting the DND and have someone call you... if the issue is reproduced, then report it to samsung members app > get help > error report asap so that samsung engineers can look into why you are not getting the notification for that caller.

So I've tried everything suggested so far. I even just recently wiped my phone, and paid close attention to this detail with DND. Eveb freshly wiped, it is still not working as it should (or I should say, as I want it to).
Bumping again in hopes someone else might see it now and know where I need to go. Thanks in advance!

Currently using One UI Beta 5 on my S22.
I have issues with Modes & Routines, specifically the driving mode.
Even after turning the "driving mode" off / deleting it, while in transit the mode pops back and enables on its own.

TP2 does not notify when not on silent

Good morning,
I seem to have a slight problem. Whenever I take my phone off the silent mode (which is not a lot) and put it either on notify with a sound or buzz it does not do anything when I get a text unless I leave the screen on. Strangely enough it does work when I get an incoming call.
Is this because I have it on silent for days on end? Or is there something wrong?
Even though its not a massive problem for me, it is somewhat annoying sometimes, as at times I want to be notified
Hope someone can help me!
Regards,
priscilla
I believe this the same problem I am having! Was just about to make a post about it.
The message tone doesnt go off when the recieving a new message. Never really wondered whether it had anything to do with turning it off silent before though.
I've had mine for about a week and this issue is really frustraing me, as I've recently had a major ear operation which has rendered me half deaf. So its not helping much
Any help would be great!
Notification Reminder
I was having a lot of trouble with my new TP2 because I was missing all my notifications. The thing is in my pocket always but I had to pull it out and look at the screen every 15 minutes just to see if I was missing anything.
The solution for me is a program that I use on my Treo Pro:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/treo-pro/177846-treo-alert-pro-treo-pro.html
This nifty little thing will keep bugging you (if you want it to) until you pay attention.
giving this a bash, cheers mate
i had the same issue. i found two different problems. 1 touchflo would not enable all the sound when taken off silent. i disabled touchflo and had this problem again. after some research i went to settings/sounds and notifications/notifications tab. the box was unchecked for programs and alarms. checked the box no more problems

Ah, I think that that is my problem! I'll give it a try later as I'm off in a few minutes
A big thanks to all the other people that gave a solution too If this doesn't work, I'll try the program.

(Solved) Battery fully charged notification, can it be turned off?

Hi,
My desire keeps playing this woman's voice when it's on the charger but the battery is fully charged, saying 'please notice your phone's battery is fully charged'. Can't find a way to turn this off, and it keeps waking me up in the middle of the night. Is there a way to get rid of it, short of turning the phone off? Because I do need it for the alarm.
Help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Solved it myself, turns out it was caused by a battery manager app I was running. Thank God I've got to the bottom of it anyway, was getting incredibly annoying.
Do you have a battery app or anything, look it up in there because the desire doesn't do that from itself
Yep, just figured it out. Feel a bit stupid now! Oh well, least it's sorted.
Can you tell me which App is doing this? I have a few apps which claim to do a variety of "battery management" (not sure of the efficacy), and I'm not sure which one is providing this most-annoying of 'features' . . .
Thanks in advance!
-Michael
Another way to avoid trouble is by apk "Timeriffic" it´s on market and it´s free also, and you can program to mute the speaker, can turn on and off wifi, bluetooth, and much more .....
This option also can be interesting.
well, what was the answer?
I also have this problem and would like a solution.
keeping in mind that you yourself described the problem as 'incredibly annoying'.... you should have said which app it is.
now, after searching for the answer, coming across this thread, and seeing your 'non-answer', having to sign up for this site, fill out a registration form, and respond to you, and still having to go through the same work you did, i am quadruply annoyed AND STILL LACK THE SOLUTION.
so if someone finds out which app it is, please notice, your solution to the problem was incomplete and added to my frustration.
doesn't appear to be an answer elsewhere on the net.
so, I am beyond incredibly annoyed. I hate that ladies voice and it's disturbing my sleep as well.
For anyone still struggling with this, the app which causes this annoying voice is called "Battery Booster". They added this "feature" in a recent version of the app and it doesn't seem like there is a setting to turn it off (there are a lot of complaints on the market reviews for the app about this) so the only solution would be to uninstall the app.

[Q] Help stop "I am driving now" auto response

Problem: While I am driving if someone sends me a text. my SGS2 will automatically respond to that message with the text "I am driving now."
I have no way of stopping it before it goes out. I do not have any apps that I have installed that are supposed to do this. I've gone through every setting I can think of. And yes I have searched xda before posting this, but no luck.
Currently running CM10. Please help! If there is no way to actually stop this from going out, I would at least like to change the message to something indicating it's an auto response.
Oh and this is not one of my SMS templates. I've erased all of them. Never had much use for those.
The culprit here is most likely your stereo. I'm guessing your phone is connected to your (likely Kenwood) stereo via Bluetooth, while this is happening. This is due to BT-SMS (SMS over Bluetooth) implementation, and can be disabled from one of your stereo's menus.
See this thread for another example of this, in which case a bad BT-SMS implementation was doing even worse, by sending that text not only to those who were trying to call/text you, but also to other contacts heh.

Hope it helps.

Is your "Driving Mode" turned on? I was getting a similar experience once (don't remember the ROM I was on then), and then I realised I had the "Driving Mode" turned on. Hope this helps!

No ringtone with incoming calls

Strange problem:
After i booted the Oneplus3 (with OxygenOS 3.0.2) i get no ringtone when someone is calling me.
After deep research i found out that moving the "silent-slider" up and down again (forcing the OPO3 to switch from "all" to "silent" back to "all" again), ringtones do sound again.
Anyone else?
Ah, found the solution on a different (oneplus) forum.
Its a bug.
Solution:
Put notification-slider to: "Priority only"
Go to settings -> slidersettings.
Go to Priority-settings
Change Messages to "from everyone"
Change Calls to "from everyone".
Put slider back to "all"
Strange bug. But this should solve it, for now that is.
Ringtone issue
I have just the same problem and contacted Oneplus. They told me to perform a hard reset, although I told them moving the ¨silent slider¨ up en down solved the problem, but only for a short period of time. So I did as they told me, which of course took me a lot of time, and after a few hours again there was no ringtone for incoming call. So I have send them another mail on friday and am waiting for a reply.
After moving the ¨silent slide¨ a few more times on fridaynight, the problem did not reoccur over the weekend, but I just don´t trust the phone in doing what it should do: ring when somebody is calling me

The workaround @stoerebink has posted should work. Please try it out. I had a chat with a Support staff who mentioned that the fix is coming in next update (probably 3.1.4).
I take a deep bow. So much honor from my simple discovery.
Thank you, thank you.
BTW: I use 3.1.3 (the beta of the forthcoming 3.1.4) some days now. I'll let you know if the problem is gone. Haven't had it yet, which is hopegiving.
I have to say thank you as well. Your solution has made the ringtone sound ever since.
Now slowly I start to think the oneplus 3 is maybe not so bad after all

No ring tone after alert slider tiggle

Same here. I was about to post a thread about this. I am on 3.2.1 and I keep missing calls and incoming texts because the notification sounds just randomly stop working. Switching to "Priority Notifications" and back to "All Notifications" solves the problem for a little while but over time the issue comes right back. I've also noticed that occasionally I'll get the "Priority Notifications" notification next to the cell signal indicator in the status bar, even when the slider is set to "All Notifications".
It's quite annoying.
No ring tone after alert slider tiggle
I too face this issue from time to time (on 3.2.1). At times if the Alert Slider toggle doesn't work, post making changes suggested by stoerebink, and toggling the alert slider between the three settings, I reboot the phone, which seems to temporarily solve the issue.
Hope Oneplus comes up with a fix for this soon.
In my case all sound gets disabled (media player, notifications, alarm, ring tone). Haven't tried the slider trick..usually reboot the phone, but it's getting on my last nerve...not a fun feeling going to bed, not knowing if the alarm will wake me up for work.
Now people at xda have started to talk about bugs in OP3...these have been discussed numerously in oneolus forums but the oneplus team is not doing anything about these issues.
Model A3003. OS version 3.2.8;latest version updated yday. Ring vol has become silent. Done reboot, changed priority setting to anyone for calls n messages, changed ringtone, tried every single thing. I changed the settings to vibrate for calls. Even that doesn't work.

Newbie trying to find features

So I've just got a OP3, moving from a Lumia 930 and several years with Microsoft mobile OS's and am trying to find a few answers about my new toy. I've searched Google but can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for.
Here goes, please don't flame me:
1. WP allowed me to automatically set quiet hours so only select contacts could get through and I wasn't bothered by notifications at night. I can't seem to find this option despite several walk throughs, the options listed aren't there. I know I can use the slider but sometimes when you go to bed tired you forget
2. Also looking for driving mode, when connected to Bluetooth the phone would only allow calls and texts to notify to stop distractions from other notifications.
3. Music player randomly opens, bit embarrassing when it fires up in the middle of a meeting
4. Phone screen doesn't always go off when taking a call, though this only seems to happen if I was using an app at the time the call came in.
5. I want to be able to block calls without installing an app, surely this should be a standard feature?
Think that's it currently, still getting my head around how to do things on Android and I'm sure there'll be more questions though hopefully I'll be able to find the answers myself
Thank you in advance
I can give you a few answers / recommendations. First take a look at an app called Silence Premium in the app store. This provides similar functionality to the slider but also allows the function to be time based. For example I have it set to silence all and only allow calls to come through after 11pm. At 6am I have it automatically un-silence all. This way I eliminate all the dings and beeps from Email or texts once I go to bed. The slider still functions normally as well. This should cover your first question. Note the trial version of the app is called Do not Disturb. Not sure why they chose different names for the paid and free versions.
For your second option, I use an app called Tasker to automatically enable an auto-reply to any texts that come in while driving. This feature is automatically enabled and disabled upon connecting to the Bluetooth in the car. Tasker is a pretty powerful app and can do a ton of different things. However it does have a bit of a learning curve and can definitely be intimidating. A similar app exists called Automate that might provide similar functionality. I haven't used it yet so can't really comment.
Hope this helps.
