Question Samsung S22 refund or replacement option? - Samsung Galaxy S22

Device - Samsung S22 (256GB) Green
After a gruesome exeperience of 8 visits with the Samsung service center over battery drainage issues, I received the DOA certificate from the Samsung service center. I have mailed it to [email protected] as well.
Is there an option of opting for Refund on the device rather than getting a replacement device?
Please share any of your experience if you were able to get a refund/replacement device

Send back to where you purchased it and do a charge back through the bank MC you used.

Unfortunately dont have this option in India as far as I know.
The support center mentioned they would be shipping the replacement device in 5 days, but I have insisted on a refund. They have been stalling past 3 days. Awaiting update on it today.
Just wished to know if anyone was able to secure a refund instead of a replacement and any other process they followed.

In the US what I do if the merchant refuses a refund:
Call bank of card used, tell them what happened, that I want a full refund and why.
Send device back. Wait.
Most bank will issue a temporary refund in a few days pending completing the charge back which takes about 30 days.
India is complicated, a lot of that comes from it being a former British colony. The vendor doesn't want an open box special. Tough.
Use whatever resources at your disposal including state to get it refunded in full. Badger Samsung too about the vendor.
Personally I think the N10+ N975U1 is a better phone in real life usage. I think Samsung could be doing much better builds with their flagships but they just aren't...

Expansys experience... incompetent, unlucky, I really don't know.

I'm sorry I just need to vent this, mostly because they have been horrible at communicating and have yet to respond to prior inquiries.
This entire order/experience has been botched from the beginning. I ordered Thursday morning requesting overnight shipping for delivery on Friday. Apparently the bank flagged this transaction as suspicious but I never received an email/call/contact of any kind from Expansys until late Thursday night. I just happened to check the status on the website and noticed that there was an issue about 20 minutes before your offices closed, so I called and was on hold for almost 35 minutes (at this point past closing time) and no one ever picked up. I then called today, Friday, to request priority overnight shipping for Saturday delivery and to change the shipping address to my home address (as I was originally expecting to have it delivered Friday at work). The man I spoke with said it would be an additional charge for Saturday delivery, to which I agreed. Now I get the tracking number for "standard overnight" which will be delivered to my home on Monday while I will of course be at work! Additionally, I was still charged for the priority overnight shipping and Saturday delivery! I'm not taking off work to receive this shipment so I imagine I'll have to drive way out to go get it from their sorting facility.
The end result is that something that was ordered with overnight shipping on Thursday will be arriving on Monday, if I'm lucky enough to have the time to go pick it up myself. This could have been completely avoided had you not dropped the ball more than a few times. At this point I'd like my shipping costs refunded, or someone get a hold of FedEx in time and have that packaged delivered on Saturday. How does this happen?

Had this not happened, you would have received your phone by now.
That's not Expansys' fault.
My transaction from them was superb. Phone in my hands hours after ordering.
My bank also did not flag anything.

They had about 7 hours from when they knew this before close of business that day and did not contact me in any fashion. Their FAQ even implies this happens to them often. One would think they might want to get in touch with someone who requested/paid for overnight shipping at some point before it was too late. Instead I had to find out myself and when I did and tried to contact them it was like everyone skipped out of work 30min before office closing time. The next day, still no contact until I called them and what do they do? They botched things up royally again and charged me more money. Just not smooth or impressive at all.
I'm on the hook for freaking $40+ for "overnight" shipping that is going to take from Thursday to Monday (Monday at best since it will not be shipped to my work). Can you even call it a "delivery" if I'm the one who will be driving 14 miles out to a FedEx facility to pick it up?
I just find it amazing that I talked to the same rep twice today about the shipping thing, confirmed, yada yada.. Even charged correctly for it. But then they still managed to drop the ball.
I ordered mine from them and my bank did the same thing. Didn't you notice where it said if the delivery and billing addresses don't match additional security checks will be needed? It said it right at the bottom of the order confirmation page you get right after you submit your order. I called and got it squared away preemptively right after I ordered. It took 23 hours for me to get it.

i also want to add in experience for NEWEGG.COM
I ordered from newegg.com, rather than expansys, mobilecity, pvcs, or any other specialty shops, because newegg is an established and credible retailer; ive purchased stuff from them for over 10 years.
i paid for expedited shipping because i travel often, and i needed it to arrive home at a precise time.
2 days after ordering, my order was still "processing". then i finally received an email saying Order on Hold - phone # or address does not match credit card information.
i called back immediately, but was placed on a 20 minute wait before being able to speak to an agent. (the online chat service had a similar wait). the agent confirmed that my information was 100% correct, but that she would need to forward this information to the "security team", and the order would not ship until cleared by security team..... despite, yes, that she herself was able to confirm my information, as entered, was 100% correct
i canceled the order, and im never buying from them again
Overall, Expansys is pretty decent to work with. Their systems are only semi-automated which means inventory levels shown on their site are wrong and back-end communication is almost totally manual. They're very good at after sale follow-up even though their bankers hours can be frustrating when you need to talk to some one. They and Negri are the only two that provide warranty support and that's a plus that goes on longer than the initial purchase which is a one time event.
P.S. - NewEgg's international phones have no warranty so the last poster may have dodged a bullet.

After my experience I whole heartedly disagree about their "after sale follow up". I got my Nexus S from Negri and things went smooth as butter. I have no idea why I didn't go with them this time. Negri from here on out for me.

Good luck with the warranty from negri. I think someone posted that they had a problem with their SGN and negri blew them off.
My experience with Expansys
I pre-ordered via website and gave them PayPal. They emailed me to confirm and told me that I would need to confirm again once the stock arrived.
Then they emailed me and said "we've got the stock, please confirm the mailing address, method and payment". I did and the parcel arrived 4 days later (with the Thanksgiving Thursday in between).
All was well and smooth with my order, I have no complaints and I am loving my Galaxy Nexus. Thanks Expansys.

Return box/label or old device pick-up from Samsung.com

Did anyone who bought directly from them get a return box to send old N7 back yet?
Where do you live?
In the UK, at least, the UKMail driver who delivered the replacement unit took away the old one at the same time, in the bag that the new one came in.
I opted for the pickup. Received a call from a recycling company. Lady was very nice. I told her I can't schedule to pick it up until I get my new device. She understood and said she will call me back today. Good news is my replacement should be delivered today as well.
I'm in NY btw.
I'm in the US and I got my replacement yesterday. I called today and they said the boxes to return the old device would be shipped out next week.
Got a call from Stericycle to pickup my old device tomorrow.

Good to know, no refund for me until they get it back. Didn't want to wait so bought a replacement Note7 locally just as the whole process was beginning.
Got the box today but still no device yet.

Oh really? You bought it from Samsung.com?
Shoot, I've been calling those idiots many many times since they started the #galaxynote7 recalls. Every time when I called, they always says they'll be sending me the return shipping label. And I'm still waiting. Good thing I paid through paypal. I filled dispute charges. 10 days later NO respond from Samsung.com. Now Paypal refunded me back $925.43.
Bought mine from the Verizon on-line store, and had the replacement shipped to me as well. Received a txt from VZW earlier this week that a box w/return label was being shipped to me, and it arrived this morning.
I'm quite glad that I didn't take the risk of returning it to a VZW corporate store and potentially have to give up the accessories that came with the phone. The instructions were very clear that the phone itself is all that should be returned (you can view the instruction sheet in my post over in the VZW Note 7 Q&A forum).

My credit card bill is due next week. If no box received by then, I will also call my card and hold back payment. Better to have that money on my side till they get their sh**t together.
So I got the box today. Sending back for full refund. Interesting thing is the box has no provisions to send back any included accessories, only the phone itself. seem they mean for me to the keep charger, cable etc.

Note 7 Gifts Returning

Those of you who got the gifts i.e. Gear VR, SD card, etc. with your Note 7, please share with us how is in your countries, whether you need to return these items together with phone or not ?
Thank you beforehand.
Here in Slovenia, they want that we return all although accessosries were added as a gift for our preorders.
You don't need to return them anywhere
pre official recall... as in before people knew how to handle it... some did take it back. Others just took the phone
Legal wise they cant ask for it. It was a gift and Samsung is recalling a product and forcing you to return it.
Here in Singapore, we got the lens kit.
I'm keeping that. The lens is good.

Simply untrue.
I only received my Gear VR TODAY from the outlet where I bought my original Note 7 over two months ago! The store has applied on my behalf to Samsung FIVE times to receive my 'free gift' . I have received five confirmation emails yet in the months gone by, with exchange etc, I had still not received one.
On the advice of my lawyer he told me to write a letter to the store outlining the situation. I did that and today the manager of the outlet gave me a Gear VR headset out of his back room stock as the local Samsung importer had informed him yesterday and again today that as there was going to be a total recall on the Note 7 all customers would have to return the free gift!!!!
The manager of the store contacted his head office and was told to give me the VR with the stores best wishes. Samsung's attitude was typical for this country. We have your money now go forth and multiply.
When I am told to return the Note 7 it will HAVE to be in the box with receipt and every single accessory that came with it or Samsung will bill the store! Had I not got a very good relationship with this local store and am an excellent customer I would not have received today the stores gift of the Gear VR.
I said from the start of this awful fiasco that regardless of how Samsung Korea play this out, how each country treats its customers will vary. The American habit of litigation is the reason those in America will be treated totally differently to those of us who live in Europe.
I am stuck with 100.00€ of SAMSUNG cases and screen protectors. I dread to think what Samsung here would tell me what to do with them! If Samsung didn't produce such good devices I would never purchase Samsung again. I accept there has been a major **** up but the way its been handled here is disgusting.

It's official (got e-mail today from service provider) - we in Estonia have to return gift with the phone to get refund or another Samsung phone (S7 or S7 Edge).
Unless it is already official announced and you have read the official statement, else it is still too early to make any assumptions...
Here in Malaysia, before any official statement from Samsung Malaysia was made, people have been spreading "official" rumors that all the free gifts are to be returned to Samsung Malaysia should we opt of a refund. Today, Samsung Malaysia just announced, all we need to return is the Note 7 and its box. All official accessories bought in their or their retail partners' stores can be refunded, provided we can show them the proof of purchase. Those folks who opt for S7 edge will get some extra cash back. Not as good as Samsung US, but can consider not bad.
In the Philippines, I asked Samsung if we need to return the v (welcome gift) and they said no need.
Returned everything today to service provider. They said that promotional gift has to be returned and I did.
At least I could return cases I bought from them and to other shops (and got refunded!).
O2 in the UK told me I needed to return the phone and free gifts, the courier they sent refused to take anything other than the phone. so who knows.
Got a deal from reseller. So not complaining anymore.
CPW here in the UK seem to have wanted the Gear VR back too - I complained and told them I've already sold it on (which is true), so can't return even if I wanted to.
They when relented and will accept just the phone back (not that I've returned it yet).

That's a bum deal. It must just be CPW policy, because I bought mine direct from Samsung UK Store with the free Gear VR and they don't want it back.
Come to think of it, what are they going to do with a used VR ? It's not like they can re-box it and sell it. It wouldn't be particularly hygienic either!
Maybe the staff in the store will... 'find' a use for them and stick them on eBay!
.
Canada I've had to return it.
Yet, if i knew better id put up a fight and would most likely be able to keep my wireless charger and 125gig sd card.

Have you got any Emails to confrim this?
When I spoke to the the other day, they said the wanted everything back.
Well for me, I moaned at them as part of my ongoing complaint, and they have "updated my notes" to reflect the fact that I can return the N7 without the Gear VR. I have this via email so do have it in writing.
Not sure how they would fair refusing to accept a return without it though, considering the situation...

I don't have it in writing but the woman said on the customer helpline, just return the phone. The last recall I didn't even return the phone accessories. It was the phone in a jiffy bag.
The VR was a gift for pre-ordering early. So that's what I did, and that's what they gave. So, if they are forcing me to return the phone they cannot expect the VR to go back too. They haven't asked for it anyway, but if they did they would get the biggest gob full of abuse, no mistake!
.
It's a GIFT. I sent my note complete with all accesories without Gear VR. If someone ask for a gift back in a normal life...how would you call it...rude? Maybe worse....

Impossible to get a replacement front screen for Nokia 8 Sirocco in US

I just bought a new condition Nokia 8 Sirocco for review purposes and then planned on reselling it, of course I dropped it first day I got it (luckily with the case on), but unluckily it shattered the front glass. Touch seems to work just fine however, BUT...
Nokia won't sell me the part or help me at all since I'm not in the same country as where it is available from their website.
I tried ordering parts through a cellphone repair store authorized with Nokia, and even called and emailed places in both the UK and Canada that were authorized Nokia repair stores, and they are unable to get me the part or repair it for me even if I pay shipping there and back as well as for the repair and part.
The one website I found that sells the part for a very reasonable 400 rs (5-6 usd) only ships within India.
I've wasted so much time trying to figure out how to just get the part, much less have it repaired. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or can help me out I'd be incredibly grateful, or if you can sell me the part directly that would work as well.
Thanks for your time !
Front Screen for Nokia 8
China is the main source of cell phone parts. So, I think you should try "Aliexpress". And they can deliver your product in the USA.

hi wiederganger,
i just bought a N8S with cracked screen, too good a price to not, i'd seen an ad via google for replacement screens for £69.99 in UK so thought id get it fixed easily, but when i got the phone i checked out the company on trust pilot, it is a scam, all bad reviews nothing good. I got in touch with nokia uk, they quoted £303GBP (about $400USD) for the repair, i can get new glass put in a samsung S8 for £70, so they are way over pricing it and withholding parts deliberately. i tweeted this info out, maybe they'll wake up as nobody would buy one if they realised the screen replacement cost. imho if they make things that break so easily they should be forced to supply replacement parts by law. or use a better screen that can be dropped, we all drop phones once in a while.
anyway i also searched around for glass only. everywhere in china i can find (aliexpress mainly) sells the whole LCD assembly for about $150USD, which is an option if all else fails. 1 place in india has screen only. again a hassle to get it sent overseas. but first ill wait a while, im sure the parts will become available. luckily this phone is usable as is, ill eventually fix it and sell it before i break the screen then buy another smasung because too much hassle to get parts for nokia. similar to apple who deliberately withhold parts also. just dont buy from these companies. i wont buy anything from nokia again. ill let you know how i get on.
Hi, I dropped my Sirocco 8 in December and the glass was toast but the screen worked okay. I bought it in the UAE and have since moved to Malaysia.
Nokia in Malaysia wouldn't touch it and told me that I'd need to send to the country of purchase for repair. I'm not keen on the idea of sending the phone back to the UAE so I too found the company in the UK (QMF) and have sent the phone to them. They've now told me that they cannot obtain the parts so I'm now scouring the web in the hope that someone can fix this phone for me. I loved this phone and if I'd known the trouble I'd have to get it repaired, I would have either not bought it or wrapped it in cotton wool!
If anyone has any luck with getting their phone repaired, I would appreciate if they could share details.
Have a good one.
I sent my N8S to the said repair shop for £69.99 to replace the screen -3 weeks ago. Today, they sent me an email wanting another £180 more for the LCD replacement. I told them to cancel the repairs and refunds will be 30 days.

UK Samsung Preorder - incl upgrade program

Hi all
is that time of the year again
As you can imagine the fever is on and although this year samsung has a longer pre-order window (i think last year it shipped after 2 weeks) i know at least in UK and EU the preorders are open - including for those like myself that are doing it via the upgrade lounge.
Now i tried last night 2x in vain to successfully complete the upgrade but the only thing i have managed to get is 2 credit agreements with klarna and 2x deposits paid - with no phone actually ordered
i have spoken with Sam this morning and they said they are having issues with the upgrade and generally orders and will send an update email 24-48h hopefully sorting this out somehow...TBC
i have to say is very annoying that every year is happens - is like they dont learn any lessons to be prepared or open up in stages the upgrade
hopefully it will get sorted and i will have a pre order soon
when i was placing the upgrade it asked me to select a shipping date starting march 9th - but on the website it said shipping 8th march but get it a few days earlier if you preorder - whatever that means - will have to go thru all the palpitations again:
i went for the ultra black although for upgrade people the only option available is 128GB (im buying an 500GB SD) and 12GB RAM
that been said - im switching from s10 so for me it will be quite a jump in size
the only real disappointment is the 120HZ locked at 1080p - hope a future Software release will change that to 2K - but will see
how's everyone else's experience so far with pre-ordering, excitement thoughts etc?
thanks all and here's to March 9th (or 6th)
I am not in the UK - I am in the USA but I thought I would share my experience. Here, we can only ask to RESERVE our Phone, I am ordering the S20 Ultra 512 GB on ATT - I am also taking advantage of the TRADE IN and will be sending my PIXEL 4XL and will get $600 for the trade, plus the Earbuds (or an additional 200 credit) all in - my total cost after the trade in will $999 US and I will have a new pair of Earbuds. If they let me, I will probably just take that as a credit and get the price down to $799. I believe I will be able to actually order the phone on the 22nd (I forget exactly what they said) but it did say it would be shipped to arrive by the 6th.
I can't wait!
I am in the UK , and just had a similar problem. Put in last years upgrade loan number. It replied and said I could order the upgrade , chose the ultra , filled in details of old phone (s10 plus). chose delivery date ( 10 March earliest), did a couple of other box ticking, then redirected to Klarna , filled in all the details . Passed the checks, filled in bank details , paid the deposit by card, that was successful. I can't remember much else other than I was redirected back to samsung requesting by login credentials. After logging in I still had the items in the basket. I received an email from Klarna saying the direct debit had been set up. My credit card has been debited by Klarna. So I don't know if it is ordered or just paid for the experience . Anyway cut long story short, spoke to samsung customer support , they said they are waiting for Klarna to let their system know that credit has been set up and that I should get an email from samsung within 24 hours detailing the order.
at least u didnt do it 2x like i did
d'oh
seems samsung is still scrambling in the dark to fix the upgrade lounge issues - just got a text saying they still dont know what happened and are investigating ...i mean really how hard can it be - is multi billion company!!
Yeah I`m in the USA and we can`t pre-order until the 21st, I did do the the RESERVE for the pre-order, and since I did the RESERVE to pre-order thing i will get 35.00 credit on top of the 200.00 , which can not be used on the price of any of the S20`s models, it`s in the fine print, so I `ll probably just use it towards the galaxy active 2 watch. also I will be trading in my Pixel 4 xl and getting the 600.00 trade in, plus I`m selling my Oneplus 6, and will be getting the 512gb 16gb S20 Ultra.
finally got the order email confirmation coming thru - now waiting for 2nd order/agreement to be cancelled and refunded
the wait begins

I am glad someone has been successful. No such luck , I applied again after numerous chats and phone calls with samsung and klarna to confirm and it failed again at Klarnas end. I been notified by the credit agencies that one hard search has been done by klarna. that was my first attempt to upgrade. I don't know if the 2nd attempt has resulted in another hard search but too many of these in a short space of time can impact on your credit rating. I emailed klarna asking them to let me know when it is safe to try again.
The samsung communtiy site is overloaded with comlaints from people suffering the same problems
i think is best to just let them know the agreement numbers and they will sort it out on their side, but defo dont try again until they fix it or you will end up with bad credit score
is a shame they cant make this process to work - every year same non sense

Did you use PC or phone to order. What browser did you use. There are still people complaining on the samsung community upgrade thread

I used Samsung browser on S10+
Took about 20 attempts suddenly the pay page changed and included all the options not just Klarna finance, and then I could complete the order

Used safari on my iMac literally took me less than a couple of minutes to complete the whole process.
Checked the thread and this is a new purchase not an upgrade from any Samsung phone, hopefully they have fixed it all by 2021!
