As far as I know fast charging is dependent on the charger, it must respond to some special commands from the phone to switch to 9V instead of the standard 5V. Are you using the original charger? What firmware/GSI are you using? May be something's physically wrong with the cable?

Did you flash CSC recently? I got this issue after I flashed CSC to enable call recording. When I plug in the charger, it shows "Fast charging" for a few seconds, then goes back to simple charging. Maybe the CSC is the culprit? (I am using the original fast charger)

are you guys knox tripped?

knox shouldnt matter here. my knox is tripped. and fast charging works.
ALSO NOTE: ON GSI'S IT WILL NOT DISPLAY IF ITS FAST CHARGING (its broken for us for some reason)... ALTHOUGH IT STILL DOES. you can check by using the app "ampere" from the playstore. 2280mA is normal fast charging for me.

Phone discharging while charging

Has anyone had this problem before?
My phone says its charging but it discharges (sometimes stays at the same level and sometimes charges VERY slowly). I let it sit on the charger without playing with it and sometimes I have to let it charge while turned off. I have tried many different chargers/usb cables but cannot find a solution.
I have tried wiping the phone twice + I have used an ipad charging block some of the time (higher voltage and amperage I believe).
It works for a little while after a wipe but the problem always comes back. I am running the latest Task 650 rom with stock kernel...
Any suggestions? My last resort is to return it to stock and try getting a warranty exchange.
I have this problem charging in the car on a really long cheap USB cable. Are you using the stock battery and stock charger / cable?

Have you tried using BetterBatteryStats to see what's draining your battery so much? If nothing seems odd or over the top. It could be a hardware problem (battery, usb, etc).

Well my battery is draining at the normal rate but it is not charging at the normal rate (most of the time it doesn't charge at all)
I have tried the stock usb cable and charging block, I also utilize the stock battery.

Have you tried plugging it in other wall outlets?
Also, did you try charging it through your PC? (can't use Fast Charge without another kernel than Task's)

Yes I have tried different outlets and through the PC. I have had this problem using both 4.1.2 (12/2) and 4.2.2 (2/15)

Do you get this issue on stock or other ROMs?
Btw, there's 2/20 now.

I don't know, haven't reverted to stock yet. I was running 12/2 for about 2 months with no issues though..

Try updating, if it doesn't work, try stock. if it still doesn't work, send it for warranty.
Try another cable or reverting back to stock. I've got 4 different Galaxy S variant phones and some of the provided cords have just given up the ghost and wouldn't charge quickly anymore. Some will work with another another and some won't. Revert to out of the box stock and see if that helps.
Mine was doing similar deal. I did the *#*#4636#*#* went to battery and found out when I plugged in stock charger and cable it said usb charging instead of ac charging. When I plugged in htc charger went right to ac charging. So I tried using a different cable with stock charger and it went ac charger and seam to fix the problem. In fact if I plugged in just the stock cable not hooked to computer or charger it would switch to usb when there was no power going thru it. Hope this helps.

Note 4 no longer fast charging

My phone has consistently charged super fast, and every time its said "adaptive fast charging". But as of two days ago my phone takes forever to charge, and I'm surely using the same charger. I checked, and the fast charge setting is checked. Anyone have this problem too with a way to fix it?

Looks like this.
Do you have the fast charging option still checked in options under battery? Phone needs to be unplugged to make a selection.
Edit:Sorry I just reread your post.
Are you sure it's the same base piece on the charger. It says fast charging on it? Maybe turn off fast charging, restart the phone, and turn it back on.

Will it connect to a computer? Does it charge painfully slow? it could be a motherboard malfunction that zapped your usb port. You can do a warranty exchange.
Did you upgrade to lollipop?
People who have are seeing an issue with quick charge not working, including me.
The fast charge button becomes greyed out when I plug in the phone.
Before lollipop I would get a message that the phone was quick charging when i plugged it in.
Now I don't and it takes much longer to charge.
Same here ..Fast Charging Not working

I have fast charge working now but it's intermittent.
No, I'm not on Lollipop. The issue fixed itself. I can only guess it had something to do with a charger/external battery I used right before the issue arose. (Zero lemon solar powered battery). It charged my phone stupid slow and then all my chargers were like that for a couple of days. And yes, the fast charging checkmark was checked.

Wont quick charge/fast charge not working

Phone is not rooted or anything, fast charging just stopped working out of nowhere no idea how to fix it so i tried resetting phone, and that didn't work either i have no idea whats wrong?
I have the 4gb model and using the charging that came with it along with other qualcom quick charge chargers and none of them work
Not to point out the obvious, but quick charge only works for a certain battery percentage. It is 0% to 50%, I think? After that it reverts to normal charging.
Same problem
I have the same problem on my Asus Zenfone 2 (2GB version). It used to quick charge perfectly fine with a Samsung adaptive charger but now it's only charging normally (5V 1.1A). I tried different cables with no joy.
I bought a USB device that connects between the charger and the USB cable to check the voltages on D+ and D-. Apparently the phone is asking for 12V instead 9V (0.66V on both D+ and D- instead 3.3V on D+ and 0.66V on D-).
I can only guess this is a software issue from an update?
I ordered an external battery pack from Aukey that offers Quick Charge 2.0. This one can offer 12V too. If that works I'll come back with an update.
No, my phone will show quick charge at any battery percentage. It doesn't come out of quick charge until fully charged.

Post a photo of your screen showing that you're still on quick charge after 70-80%?
I know it stops at a certain point. When I check my phone after a 45 minutes or so of charging when its nearly full, I don't see the quick charge icon anymore nor does it say "Quick Charging", only "Charging".

Well, obviously I don't know what I"m talking about. I thought the "+" in the battery indicator meant it was on quick charge.
When plugged into my quick charger (I have two different ones by different manufacturers) it always shows the "+" in the battery indicator.
I don't know how to tell it's in quick charge mode except by the message on the lock screen. And you are right, it goes from "quick charging" to "charging" about the power level you indicated. Hadn't really noticed before. Now I'm a little smarter
I also have the + sign from 1% to 99% using original charger.
It does get less hot after 70% im sure quick charge slow down or off at this point

same here..
Same here - sometimes the quick charges works (from 0%-80%), sometimes it stops at 20% and I notice too late the phone has not been fully charged All this with the Asus original quick charger ...
Normal charging works always, not a single problem ..
I guess this is a software issue ...
not really, my zenfone 2 used to fast charge even at 82% and charge to 100% after 10 mins, but now it's at 49% and says fast charging but the completion time shows 3 hours until full. I dunno why
I've been having similar issues in recent months, but I'm thinking the USB cable may be worn out - usually when it shows it is charging in regular mode, if I unplug the cable and put back in the + appears. Also a couple of times it has claimed I am using an unsupported charger (it is the same ASUS fast charger out of box..), which is also resolved by unplugging and replugging things.
However if the phone won't fast charge, won't detect OTG drives and PC can't detect the phone then a part of the chipset is probably toast.

Charging issue

Hi ,
i'm facing charging issues on my s 20 plus it is only charging on the cable mode and the super fast charging mode is on and i'm using the original charger and cable. I've tried soft resetting and turining the phone on on the safe mode and still the problem is there. I started having problem after getting a moisture detected notification on my phone and it went away but the problem is still after a day. Does anyone have any fix for this problem?
Just started having exact same problem, no ideas yet?
I thought my charger was faulty, same issue with me, no chance for my s20 to get charged wirelessly, no matter fast or not. I think the last security update was buggy maybe
It's not you. I noticed that my wireless fast charging immediately broke after the last update. They all start to fast charge, then a few seconds later reverts to standard charging.
Thankfully, I can still fast and super fast charge with my USB C chargers.
I saw it on different Samsung forums, Reddit and the Samsung Members app. All reporting similar issues and the only thing they all had in common was the last update. I do believe it's software and Samsung needs to fix it. I know my chargers work fine as my work S7 still fast charges on all of them but it's on an old software version.

Fast Charger no more after update

Hi,
I wanted to know if someone else has a fix for not fast changing after the last update.
The fast change option is activated, I tried different cables, different chargers and still no fast charging.
If anyone can help....
Thanks

No such problem here. You may try another fast charger or another USB3 cable (if possible). Usually the cable is the problem or low wattage from the power socket. Not the charger or the phone.
I've had same issues since last update, including moisture detection warnings whilst phone is plugged in. Some complaints of this on Samsung Members Forums as well. Mine is + 5G UK variant so not sure if you have same variant?
Clear system cache on boot menu.
If it was a major update ie 9 to 10, reload.
If an OS is running fast and stable, I leave it alone. I've seen updates that trashed a phone once too often.
I at least wait until it has a proven tract record.
