Question Is there an in-built call recording? (CSC locked is OK) - Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

I want to buy an S21 FE 8/256 phone, but I need call recording. I know my Note 9, Note 10+ had this call recording feature in "Phone", if I changed my CSC to India for example. Worked great, no complaints, its just what I need.
But can I do it on this phone as well? Like does Samsung still support call recording?
Thanks!

Oh yeahh this is the way I've done it. But does this work on the S21 FE right at this moment? With the latest rom/firmware too?

I am not sure where Samsung is on recording at this time. For non rooted devices there is a call record button on the stock phone app. If the button was missing a up date from the play store would restore and show the button. I don't know if Samsung has blocked this or not. However, this stock method of call recording will let the other party of the call know they are being recorded. Here is Google support page on this:

Skvalex is the only app I have used for call recording, going on 8 years now. Can work on some devices out of the box and rooted for most devices. Keep in mind firmware may have to be changed. You can check it out here:

Few threads below, three about this topic. Sure it works, samkey and SEK csc. Snapdragon version meant for EU is without obvious countries like INS, SRL etx. Exynos version is APAC so plenty of choices of csc. Well version of FW, where samkey works ? Try out latest one, but IMO downgrade is still on option via odin.

So, despite what ING.KING says, it is not possible to put CSC SEK on snapdragon models. He tried with another model (maybe exynos) .. tried in person with both first and last firmware, IMPOSSIBLE CSC SEK.

Try to downgrade FW with odin. I applied CSC change with Samkey at the end of February with: G990BXXS1BVB3 original CSC TMS and Snapdragon .
Latest FW G990BXXU1CVC3 consist of OneUI 4.x upgrade, probably it is not supported by samkey yet.

Samkey replied that at the moment sek csc is not supprotato either with this or with any other previous firmware. After all, I had already done tests on the advice of ING. King but it was not possible to change it. On s22 changed in a moment... But not on s21fe. Can you send me a screenshot of your csc? So I turn it to samkey

Thank you, I immediately turn (if I have your consent) to SAMKEY because they say that it is not possible to switch from EUX to SEK.

As I mentioned above, in my case CSC was changed from TMS Tmobile Slovakia to SEK.
Before SEK, I tried also SER(Russia) and CAU (Georgia) but none of them has CallRecording.

Oh man, this sucks big time.
So basically EU + Snapdragon -> don't buy phone.
Man, I wish I could find a solid phone on the market that won't set me back 9000$ and would work alright. I've looked at OnePlus, but their software has been a trainwreck since the new big update (Android 12 / ColorOS Frankenstein thing), and you get a mediocre phone. Sure, it works. But is it 1000$+ good? Hell no.
Xiaomi loves using their virtual proximity sensor that just WON'T EVER work OK.
Google doesn't really sell in EU (only select countries), and the phone I'd like to have (5a 5G) is Japan/US only.
ASUS comes with call recording, but they are still selling their older Zenfone phone for 1000$. Crazy.
Ehh, why is it so hard to buy a phone in 2022.
I just want root, or native call recording.

I manged to change CSC using SamKey to SEK it did unlock Call recording option but its still locked. Any ideas?

Strange, never seen that before. Once csc with available call recording, no such lock... Unfortunately my s21fe is being claimed, wonder if I will face same issue after it returns. if the mainboard is replaced question is with what firmware they return it. Maybe after some update csc change stopped to work way it worked before. I was lucky changing csc with second firmware version before 4.1

Have you enabled it in caller menu three dots right upper corner and call recording automatic ?

yes i have enabled like you see on attached SS

well my phone returned from operator, fixed with changed mainboard and battery cover. CSC is Back to TMS/EUX. I will try samkey afternoon and later post the result. Expecting the worst but hoping for the best

no luck, samkey cannot read IMEI, N/A. Due to this, procedure of CSC change won´t start. Simply wait for next generation of samkey with support or accept no call recorder
just for the record latest May 2022 firmware

update, CSC change working fine even on latest FW. Call recording working. Just needed to install usb drivers from samkey.

Hello, I want to buy a S21 FE EUX Snapdragon but I need Call Recording. Can you explain the procedure you followed to achieve it? How many credits are needed to change the CSC? Which CSC have you chosen?
Thank you very much.

N975U and N975U1 Firmware Links Here

For those who aren't already aware, N975U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Note 10+. The N975U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models: any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. A "U to U" or "U1 to U1" flash does not require a factory reset, but changing from one firmware to the other will require one. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
This is not a "beginner's guide to Odin flashing" type post/thread, so I won't list basic, step-by-step flashing instructions. My threads are geared towards those who already know what they're doing. If you're new to manually flashing Samsung firmware, I recommend you consult one of the "beginner's" posts/threads - there are tons of them here on XDA.
Happy flashing!
U firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=297979
U1 firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=297980
NOTES:
- DON'T QUOTE THE OP WHEN YOU REPLY, kthx
- I have an identical thread for the Note 10 if you're interested
- My zips are compressed extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
- My naming method for folders on AFH is: build - bootloader - Android version
So "SAT - 1 - 9.0" means the full build number ends in SAT, it's bootloader version 1, and it's Android 9.0. When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately.
- HOME CSC file keeps data intact; using the other CSC will wipe data. Flashing USERDATA will also wipe data
- I know AFH servers/mirrors can be wonky sometimes, so if you want to download the latest version of whatever firmware you're seeking yourself, you can do so via SamFirm or Frija (plenty of links and threads here on XDA). I pay for a subscription to a site that gets beta builds and also gets the official releases (usually) before they hit SamFirm, so that's where my files come from. However, I don't have unlimited bandwidth on the site, and it's also quite time consuming to download the files, zip them up, and upload them to AFH. And, I do threads like this for every single Sx and Note x model - so I won't be uploading every single update version. The only full builds that I upload are ones where I get access to a new bootloader and/or Android version early, before they hit SamFirm.
- You can get USERDATAs from SamFirm for everything but AT&T and Cricket- those files will never be on SamFirm. So I'll try to always upload at least one USERDATA per bootloader increment for those carriers, and I'll also upload any full builds if AT&T is the only carrier to get that specific build, because you won't be able to find the files anywhere else.
- For USERDATAS (all the others are self explanatory):
AIO = Cricket
CCT = Xfinity Mobile (Comcast)
CHA - Spectrum Mobile (Charter)
TMK = Metro PCS
- the correct procedure for switching from one carrier's firmware to another is:
1. Flash full U1 firmware package including non HOME CSC
2. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want
3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it
4. After that restart completes, reboot back to Download mode and flash the full U firmware package, with the USERDATA file of the carrier whose firmware you want
Folder is empty

Samsung firmware never hits until the device is actually released. Maybe a day before, if that
Appreciate the files though. Flashed the U1 firmware, works great.

Same 3.13 3b Patched Odin?
for note 10 and 10+ :
Open up the S/W Installation Program by executing the "Odin3 v3.13.3.exe"
* Note : "Odin v3.13.2 or above" checks MD5 checksum just after file selection.

[GUIDE] Enable VoLTE & VoWiFi on all devices NO ROOT.

This is a quick guide on how to enable VoLTE and VoWIFI on every OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro device.
This method involves downgrading the OnePlus LogKit APK to the OnePlus 7 version.
I recommend you to backup the existing LogKit APK using ADB on a
Or download an APK extractor from the Play Store, i personally recommend: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui&hl=nl
After you extracted the original LogKit you need to download the old LogKit which you can find as an attachment in the thread.
Install the downloaded LogKit APK and follow the steps:
1. Open the Dialer app on the device.
2. dial *#800# and LogKit will open up.
3. Scroll all the way down and click on Function Switch (this is missing from the stock OnePlus 8 LogKit APK).
4. Select VoLTE and when prompted to reboot, press cancel.
5. Select VoWifi and when prompted to reboot press OK.
6. Your device will now reboot and you should have VoLTE & VoWifi enabled.
7. Reinstall the backup from the LogKit apk (VoLTE & VoWifi should still be enabled when you reinstall the backed up LogKit apk).
The above has been tested to work in The Netherlands.
If you have followed the steps, please let me know what your results are!

For people experiencing problems with receiving calls when having 2 sim cards installed. The above steps seem to fix this issue.
Sweet! Thanks. Finally makes using this phone on Verizon complete.
Hello LennARTpas,
Can I know which network you're on in The Netherlands? I've tried this but it is not working with KPN as of right now.
I'm on AT&T in the US. I had VoLTE and VoWIFI working on my Note 8, so I know I had it provisioned on my line before. With this LogKit I was able to enable the VoWIFI switch. After reboot I enabled the feature, disabled data, and made a call successfully.
I'm not 100% sure if this is a successful test but just the fact that the VoWIFI option is visible in SIM & Network menu and I can toggle it on makes me think it's working. Is there a way to test this for sure? I can't test without a SIM and I can't make a call with Airplane Mode on, so is there a way to know for sure the call is going over WiFi?
Thanks for sharing this info, I had rather curious finding here on Vodafone Germany: on 10.5.8 I only get VoLTE when the SIM is in SIM2 in the tray, not when in SIM1 ! This is repeatable...

Crap I got excited this would work on Verizon, I was about to purchase again.
Doesn't work with visible (Verizon pre paid mvno). Once you switch the wifi calling toggle in the network settings and leave the screen, it unchecks itself.

Thank you. Sometimes when I'm excited to try something I get inpatient and skip steps. Did you have a backup of the original OP 8 pro apk? I did not backup before installing the OP7 one.
boys, u need to do the same stuff as with 7 pro, use the pdc to change the profiles , here's the link, https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/help/force-enable-volte-vowifi-t3934227
basically this thread is just a copy and paste from 7 pro, but only a part of it, enabling just the switches aint gonna work

Anyone on Verizon try this yet? Normally I would have done it by now, but I'm having a busy Monday, and actually have to do some work. I probably won't have time to "work" on my phone until after lunch.

I just downloaded and flashed via Odin a couple of hours ago. First impressions doesn't differ much from Android 9 with OneUI 1.1. Themes are not supported and the menus look quite similar, it seems there is QuickShare and MusicShare

That's a shame, with Android 10 and Oneui 2.1 and still no themes support ? Unbelievable.
Did you flashed on a T-835 or T-830 ?

Themes were a thing also on oreo and pie, so I guess Samsung never planned to port them on tablets, not surprising at all.
I hope at least that the update brings some multitasking functions from the tab s6, like the side panel
Here's an overview: https://www.gizchina.com/2020/06/23...oid-10-with-one-ui-2-0-for-the-galaxy-tab-s4/
Excuse me, could I flash this?
Apparently for t830 they just released an update (security patch, 140mb) still on android 9 instead of the android 10 and one ui 2 upgrade ?

Open playstore and Install " Phone INFO SAM " app....This will show you all the compatibles CSC for your device...
No, you can't downgrade right now (after update to android 10 I mean)..Some few samsung devices with "beta 10" program in the past, can and do it through "smart switch" & rollback package, but no the Samsung Tab S4 unfortunately ....
I'm in Europe & I have Installed android 10 via odin v3.14.4 ( Canada XAC ) without problem on T830....
Galaxy tab s4 TMO Android 10
Will it work w my tablet ? If I flash through Odin

Changing CSC on S20+ 5G

hello, a friend of mine recently bought S20+ 5G from UAE and he noticed that he doesn't have call recorder so we tried flashing a different country firmware but the CSC won't change and "Service provider software version" won't change no matter what we flash, so my question is there any way to get call recorder and change CSC?
thank you
Try this - Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option.

i found firmware G986BXXU8DUF9_G986BOXM8DUF9_DBT
Flashed him on my device
Odin said
All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
but in the end when i turn on device i see DTM((
A csc dialogue code, may work or not.
sadly tried all the codes and nothing worked, all i have left is SamKEY, saw some reviews and it might be the only chance to change CSC, anyone has some experience that could guide me to which CSC i should change it to have call recorder?
thanks in advance
SAMKey is a paid service but prople have paid for it and have successfully changed their csc so. You can try it. I haven't personally used it so good luck with that
Did you manage to change the CSC of your S20+? I also need to change mine.
I have a SM-G986U1 / Snapdragon model, which doesn't have e-sim, app lock, call recorder. I use mine in Brazil and it was purchased in the USA. I was wondering if you found out which CSC to use or if you did something else.

First you need downgrade to android 10, it's very important. After downgrade setup your device and install google phone dialer (please dont use after 2021/03 google phone dialer apk).after iinstalling google dialer type this code *#*#27262826#*#* .
Now you can change your csc
Please Remember That - Change csc via this method, your all data will be erase, please backup all important data before do that.
Thanx
If you downgrade to A10 on Samsung you gonna brick your phone because of bootloader rev differences.
Any idea how to downgrade? Or it's not possible anymore?
And does SAMKey method work on android 11 and latest bootloader?
It works on android 11.

It is supported by your phone. The binary version isnt an issue and you do not need to downgrade.
SamKEY has been updated to support A11 some time ago.
You can use the software.
