Question Questions about 5G availability in non-released countries with pixel 6 pro - Google Pixel 6 Pro

After seeing Google i/o, I gave up pixel 6a and bought 6 pro. Currently, I am using a 5g plan, and I registered the device, but I keep getting network errors. I would like to know if the current problem is because it is an unreleased country, and I would like to ask if there is a patch method that can use 5g if it is an unreleased country. And it is currently being used in Korea.

No. Don't import or use the Pixel 6 on an unsupported country/carrier. VoLTE, wifi calling, 5G, etc might not work.

VoLTE and wifi calling works with root, here still no 5G networks to try...

VOLTE and WIFI Calling works (using Pixel 6) in India, not sure if 5G services are available here.

Question Oneplus 9 pro telus 5G

Hi, I have a question about telus 5G, anyone can connect telus 5G network? I don't even have 5G switch in setting.
thank you!
I have a OP9 and same issue. Data is also very slow but that could be a separate issue.
If it's available/provisioned to your SIM, I'd assume that setting your Preferred Network Type to the variant that includes 5G should allow it to be received.
I support some clients on Telus, but I'm not well versed in how they're rolling out 5G and/or what bands they're using, etc.

I called telus, it was banned by their side, won't be supported, but they also told me that for now in canada, all 5G providers are not providing 'real' 5G, just use 4G is still fast.

In other words "Buy a phone from us if you want 5G".
Sounds like a money grab from Telus.

That's unfortunate. I swear I remember my OnePlus 8 Pro being 5G compatible though. I never saw it in the status bar but it was an option inside settings. Strange that the 9 is not seeing 5G anywhere.
Maybe someone will come out with some kind of mod or tool to force 5G.
Hola
Sad situation this is. Stranger still is that I had a Xiaomi Mi 10 last year and I was able to get 5G in certain locations. And at one point Telus was the least restrictive when it came to VoLTE and WiFi Calling enablement on non-Telus branded phones.
5G is not enabled in Telus 5G-network. Here is listed 5G supported devices: https://mt.ax/0x390
To enable 5G, you can follow my blog guide: https://mt.ax/uLgc2 .

Question Enable volte and vowifi with *#800#

Hi,
Is it possible, as with OnePlus 8 Pro, to enable volte and vowifi with *#800#?
Last year, it worked for me, installing an old version of the logkit, enabling volte and vowifi, and reinstalling the initial logkit.
Thanx for your help

I'm pretty sure the global edition does work with VoWiFi but only on T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro by T-Mobile, etc) AT&T and Verizon only allow VoLTE on BYOD Unlocked devices.

I'm on Verizon with no volte issues. Vowifi I believe you're correct, but pretty much irrelevant for most people as coverage is generally excellent for most carriers regarding high quality phone calls.

I'm on Verizon as well. I actually find VoWiFi to be annoying, my Mom, and sis both have unlocked iPhones on Verizon and VoWiFi works, my dad has a Verizon Branded Moto Z4 and they could be on a call and as soon as they leave the house down the block the call drops, or the WiFi goes out (I have crappy ass Spectrum) and their calls drop, I'm the only one with only VoLTE and my calls never drop.

Question Do all the Pixel phones support the same bands?

I live in Dubai and I know for a fact that the UK uses the same bands that we use here so I wouldn't have connectivity issues with LTE/5G.
Now, the Pixel 6 Pro is out of stock at the Google Store UK; so my question is if I buy from let's say Google Store Australia or US, are the supported bands the same or do they use different bands for different Pixel phones depending on the region its sold in?
No. Only the US, Japan, and Australia models support mmwave.
All models should support the same 4G and sub6 5G bands though.

right, so a US Pixel 6 Pro would have connectivity issues in Dubai/UK or would it still work and get 5G signal?
No issues. Provided your carrier doesn't whitelist for 5G or use an unusual band, it should work fine.

it does have all the correct bands though, so maybe in the future google will unlock the phone to be used in all countries or maybe someone smart will figure it out on a rooted phone

Question What's the deal with 5G mmWave & Sub-6 ?

Can anyone explain what's the whole deal with the 5G mmWave & Sub-6 ? I'm asking because I'm in Romania, on Orange carrier, and have 5G plan. I had a Xiaomi Mi 11 which had 5G signal, but now with my P6P only LTE. Also no voLTE and no voWIFI.
I checked with them(Orange), they reset my network, tried eSIM, tried another SIM, still only LTE.
I get about 200 mb\sec, but I pay for 1.2 gb\sec(I know it won't be that fast, but with the Mi 11 I had about 450-500 mb\sec, and lower pings in everything). Does anyone know how to enable voLTE at least?
The only thing I could find from Google was this article https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/10082009?hl=en
Have you gotten the December update for your P6P yet? I believe it has some 5G fixes, although I don't use 5G so I can't speak about it first hand.

so is tmobile Ultra Capacity the same as MMwave?

It's just marketing. 2.5 GHz is the suburban mid-band 5G. mmwave is the very distance limited high-band 5G meant only for stadiums, parks, and dense downtown areas.
Both are marketed as ultra capacity.

I've been reading about T-Mobile 5G. Apparently there are three tiers. The first low wave isn't that much faster than 4G. Then included with UC there's medium 2.4 ghz wave which for me is a lot faster. I live in a medium sized city and I pick up UC most of the time. I was able to get 390 Mbps with medium wave. I haven't picked up the ultra high band yet, which is of course UC also.

The chances are your phone only has Sub6 and doesnt even have the necessary mmWave hardware anyway (unless you bought it in the states) so i wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

So my 5g phone can't connect to 5g ? Wow...nice move, google.
If it can't connect to the very short-range mmwave. You still get mid-band and nationwide 5G if your carrier has built it out.
But yes, it is a **** move that Google removes the antenna from Pro models that don't include mmwave. They just shove a piece of plastic to fill out the space.

What do you mean it cannot connect to 5G? Sub-6 will still get you more speed than you'll ever need and of course the main benefit which is capacity, also you're not going to have to stand next to the cell site to even get it, you can be miles away to benefit. mmWave isnt even deployed in most countries because in everyday use it is pointless.

Absolute nonsense ..
Here in Austria the pixel is not officially sold, 5G and VOLTE still work perfectly.
5G wont work in unsupported countries. At the ss you can see what country is supported in the Europe. You can just google it if you dont belive it (example: "5g blocked in unsupported countries google pixel")
Google blocks it, and is lying that is that countries operators fault. But it is obviously a lie. The theme is discussed from Pixel 4a 5G. Until now on the other pixels with 5G, you could install the magisk module, which unlocked everything, so how come it's the operators fault, if the lock was discovered in the software. Pixels 6/pro have a 5G modem from Samsung, so maybe that's the fault why you haven't yet been able to unlock via the magisk module
In summary, it's not about any frequencies, the Pixel 6/pro supports all 5G frequencies used in Europe. This is Google's fault alone, they are tardy and don't want to solve this problem, and probably just don't give a **** about the other countries. Best to spam on their Pixel forum and in the feedback, maybe they will finally wake up
I don't know if this helps anyone: Check carriers, their 5G networks & their 5G roaming support for Pixel phones. Make sure and choose your country from the drop-down to see the list of carriers beneath.
There's also the section above that Learn which Pixel phones can work with which kinds of 5G.

you mix between unsupported countries, and official sales countries. there are so many countries which not official sales of Pixel but google just official supported carrier, and there are so many countries that they dont at all.

Question OnePlus 9 Pro 5G - Malaysia

Hi everyone,
I have a OnePlus 9 Pro that I bought in India. Build is Oxygen OS 11.2.10.10.LE15DA
In Malaysia, I have subscribed to a 5G plan and the SIM is activated. However, the phone is not latching on to the 5G network and instead is using only the 4G network of the operator. I have gone into the testing mode and enabled the 5G radio in the preferred network type settings (NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA) but when I check on the 'SIM and Network' settings page, only occasionally does the Preferred Network Type show 2G/3G/4G/5G (Automatic). Mostly it doesn't but even when it does, the phone does not connect to the 5G network.
For information, the phone supports N41 and N78 5G bands and my operator (Yes Mobile) uses the N78 band for 5G.
I also know that this model does not appear in the 5G supported devices list. My question is: what is missing and what can I do (if anything) to get my phone to work on this network? Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance.
Is it possible that the locations in those cases were not covered by 5G signal of your operator?
Move to somewhere else closer to a 5G base station and then try again.

Hi,
No that's not possible - I'm trying this bang splat in the middle of the coverage area and I put my SIM into a colleague's phone (he was standing next to me) and it worked on his phone.
The Indian variant has less bands and 5g support so that might be it.
