Question Xiaomi Cloud Data Archived - Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 (2021)

I recently lost all contacts on this phone and when I tried to log back into the Xiaomi cloud, it just says "Data Archived". It also says "9.1GB used out of 5GB" which should not be possible in the first place as Xiaomi cloud gives 10GB of space. I am attaching a screenshot of the error when I log in from my laptop.
The screenshot says the account has been frozen as I haven't been using it since 1 year which is not possible as the Xiaomi cloud is connected to the mobile and the mobile has been in use all the time.
I checked with the service center and they are saying it might be related to a software issue and they'll factory reset the phone. If it doesn't work they'll apparently try to replace motherboard and check, which I don't understand how it will fix a cloud issue.
Kindly help out as I only need the contacts stored to be back.

I'm not sure what you expect here.
Contact Xiaomi. This is something about their service.... They are the only ones able to make a difference here.

bro,I'm facing the same issue. did you get any response from xiomi ?

as the mesage says, yor account is frozen so useless, need a new one and done, all your stored data is lost nothin to do with that.

The cloud account was already connected to the phone. Not sure when it expired.
Also if account is frozen, shouldn't there be some email communication regarding this warning that the data will be deleted?
Isn't is bad practice to automatically delete personal data if account is frozen? That too without any intimation to the user.

Problems after changing to @gmail.com

Hey,
So you may have heard, uk users can now change from @googlemail.com to @gmail.com but now I'm having problems after having do so.
I keep getting errors saying gtalk can't sign in. I don't really use gtalk but it would be nice for it to actually work if I wanted to.
How do I change the main google account to @Gmail.com instead of @Googlemail.com without doing a software reset?
Hi Brummiesteven
There are 2 ways to change the details of your Google account on your phone.
1) Try this (taken from Sizzledcore.com):
Open Menu, and go to Settings.
Select Applications and then go to Manage Applications.
Look for the app “Google Apps” and tap it.
Now tap the “Clear data” button.
Now, in the Notifications (top of the screen) you will see a new notification.
Tap “Your account must be updated”.
Now enter your new Google account info.
Reboot your phone and you’re all done!
2) Change your Google password on a PC and reboot your phone, which should then ask you re-input your Google login details.
Have Google actually made the option available to change to gmail.com?
I know they released a statement saying you will be able to soon but I think you will need to change it somewhere online first before it will work on your phone.
I'm just guessing here by the way.
Make soft reset, I had the same problem and it helped me.

Login to googlemail.com, settings > accounts. Next to your @googlemail.com there's a small link saying chance to @gmail.com?
After you've done so you get a free set of stickers

Same. Seems the only option is to do a reset of the phone. I'll wait untill I've got an hour free as I'd need to install all my apps again. Don't need to worry about my contacts as those are all online.
I just ended up doing a reset of my phone after changing from Googlemail to Gmail. Pretty annoying as I now have to reinstall all my apps and re-link contacts to their Facebook / Twitter / Flickr accounts.
I was also hoping that this might have fixed the Picasa gallery syncing; it hasn't. The options just disappeared under the Google Account settings.
I changed mine to gmail.com but when I log into gmail on my PC it still says @googlemail.com
I still seem to be getting emails through on my Desire but now I get a warning every so often that Google Talk can't connect or something.
I don't even know what Google Talk is, I've never used it as far as I know.

I had to change it twice on the pc before it actually took affect. Try that.
Google Talk is a google IM, however it has to be configured correctly or you wont be able to access the Market Place as I've heard they use the same login.
You can just add the gmail addy as a 2nd account and untick the original googlemail account in the sync settings.
Works a treat without having to reset.
I had to change to @gmail.com twice, but then it stuck.
I reset my phone and I now get Picasa albums in Gallery 3D.
Ah, the changing it twice thing seems to have made my account change online.
I had to change mine twice too!!
Glad there is already a thread on this, previous ways of changing the Google account on Android don't seem to work on the Desire
Stuff that has been suggested which doesn't work:
Go to manage applications, find "Google Apps" and clear the data
Doesn't work, clear data button is greyed out
Go to manage applications and clear the data for everything Google related
Doesn't work, have cleared data for Google Talk, Google Mail, Google Mail Storage, reboot phone, just carries on as normal
Change Google password online
Doesn't work, just prompts for new password, not user account
On mine, all Google mail, Calendar and Contacts seem to be syncing fine without me changing anything, need to confirm all of that. But sending mail from my phone DOES send as gmail.com.
The only thing that is affected is Google Talk. For a start, I dis-abled this and signed out of it, but it obviously likes to stay signed in anyway, because it keeps coming up with a prompt in the notification bar that it failed to sign in, no option to change anything
Why the hell is it still trying to sign in? Might just remove it!!
I just rebooted and now my gmail doesn't work at all. It just says no connection when I go to the gmail app.
Wish I never changed to gmail.com now lol
It seems to all sync OK but I just get this "No connection" error in the gmail app.
Wow i think I will hang fire on this until we have a proper process. Cant believe google didnt send out instructions for android users.
Really good news about the Picasa albums though - that was really annoying me.

You can change it back untill you get something sorted.
I still seem to receive email. The gmail app only seems to load half my inbox though and shows a "No Connection" error half way down the screen with a 'Retry' button on it. I click that, it tries to connect but doesn't.
So to sum up. It works but I have an annoying thing half way down my inbox.

Googlemail/gmail account market problem

have read a bit about google changing the email settings to gmail and market not downloading apps and now this has happened to me i just wanted to see if there was an updated solution without doing a factory reset...please help
I looked into this a while back and found this on another site... I haven't actually done it yet, but it sounds promising!?
Change Google Account
If you want to change your primary gmail account for Gmail, its much easier.
Don not hard reset means set to factory defaults , by erasing all data and application , instead go to
1. Settings -> Applications ->Manage Applications ->
Here you have to "Clear Data" from
1. Gmail
2. Gmail Storage
3. Google Apps
4. Google talk and Talk services
5. and IM. (Would be rare to have this showing unless you are using Google IM)
clearing data is much simple just click on aplication and clear data.
the Dev also warns that Google Storage will want to keep filling up so do that one last before exiting Manage Applications section.
Then, of course, you must regularly restart your phone, when it comes back, you will need to enter your new chose gmail, then follow the instructions. You also should do a *228, 2 for OTA, but may not be needed. What may be needed is having to do a *228 , 9 (as previously instrcted at any Verizon Store when you bought the phone in the first place).
This method of changing the an Android devices primary gmail account actually works. So let's all stop the goddamn FUD that we can't change the primary email AND LET CUSTOMERS KNOW and/or right a batch file with a shortcut in Manage Applications so that we can just stop all this bickering. Now this next part is probably why Google, Android Market, Verizon employees, Motorola CS employees are all saying "it can't be done", is probably due to the next relatively complex procedure:
The apps PURCHASED need only be re-registered, but in order to NOT Download and pay for them again, you will have to remove your CC from the old gmail/Google Checkout and use it in Google Checkout with the NEW gmail you have chosen for your new Droid primary - sure beats re-DLing and installing all those apps. Unfortunately the CC has to be the SAME CC you used on the old gmail account otherwise you ARE stuck with re-purchasing the apps from the Market using the NEW gmail you have chosen along with the different CC/Google Checkout.

cheers this kinda helped but then i changed my account to "gmail.com" then it stopped
I created and added a secondary Googlemail account onto my Droid3 and would like to remove completely my old(first one). Unfortunately my Droid3 doesn't allow that to me, because it says I have to do a factory reset which I don't want. I manually switched within various applications from my old Gmail-Account to my new one. I also cleared data of all GoogleApps I found under Settings-->Applications-->Manage Apps-->All.
I rebooted the phone, but I'm still not able to remove this unwanted Gmail account. Why? How can I check and proof which applications my old account is assigned to?
any help appreciated

Predicament: Sold Pixel, phone asking buyer for my Google account login

Hello, as I am now aware after the fact, I did a lock boot loader 'factory' reset thinking that wiped he phone, I sold it, and now I guess it needs my login to proceed. Question 1 is, is there any bypass for this? 2. Is there a safe way to temporarily give him a temp password or something? Appreciate your help

If you change you password now, he will have to wait 72 hours. So you could do that and you could give it to him over the phone, give him about two seconds to enter it and then you change it on your end.
Or you could do it with your current password, but you probably used it elsewhere.
But that is risky. He could just log in via computer and change it and own your account.
Can you meet him in person?
Or he sends it back to you.
Those are the only options I know of.

I've been in the same situation with previous my phone. My way around it was to enable 2-Step Authentication and give him my password and approve the login on my end immediately after that, I changed my password and didn't have to worry about him accessing anything from there.?

There is a workaround out there for marshmallow that may work on Nougat. I won't link it though, sorry. But if you search hard enough...
It's a security thing.

Cant he just log in to his google account and go to his list of devices and remove that device from his google account ? If he removed it from his google account should not someone else be able to add their google account to it ? I"am curious on this to as I will be selling my one pixel xl as I got a 128 to replace it.
On Htc devices normally you can do a RUU and it will put it back to 100% stock removing your google account, but yeah this is no Htc unfortunately it is but its not lol.

None of that will work.
It's called FRP. Factory Reset Protection. It is to stop exactly what you describe if someone steals it. Can't reset it and use it. You have to manually remove the Google account before you reset it and sell it.

Well yeah that is a given I figured besides removing your account from the device you had to log in to google.com and remove the device id from your google account on line.

I believe it will work. If he logs in to his google account on his computer he can find the devices attached to his account and remove that device id from his google account then the guy that bought the phone can remove his google account from the phone and put his own google account on the phone. The guy just needs to remove the device id off of his google account on line then the purchaser can add his own google account.
There's not a single response from original poster. I would give this one a wide berth with respect to suggestions by community dogooders.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I guess no bypass exists for the latest version of Nougat, I offered to pay shipping both ways so that I can properly wipe the phone, but he doesn't trust I will send it back?..hmmm..
Under devices in my Google Account I can "Remove account access", what will this do, this almost sounds like it will solve the problem but Im not sure exactly what this means. Will it not allow that phone to access my account any more or will it un-attach my account from the phone so that He can use it? Thanks again for all your help, lots of good suggestions
Edit: Im going to try Rydah's method...2 step verify, give pword, authorize from my phone, then change password back

I"am not sure what that is, but didnt you have a sec tion that listed attached devices ? I have had that option on my google account and I did physically remove a phone that I was selling. I believe it was like a year ago. If you cant find it maybe you can get support from google such as online support. Honestly I think the option to remove the device is in your account settings when logged in to your google account through a browser such as google chrome or firefox.
Next time, remove any screen lock security on the phone, reboot, then do your factory reset. This will allow anyone to setup the used phone under their credentials.

That alone will NOT bypass FRP. He has to remove his Google Account under Settings > Accounts before doing a factory reset. After that, I always go back and make sure I can set the phone up while skipping the Google Account login.

You would think they would implement a feature that allows you to remove the lock remotely. For example with icloud's find my iPhone you can go to iCloud.com and remove a device if you want to.
Flash-all.bat before you sell the phone and all will be well. Hopefully you do this going forward for anew new sales, lol.
Can't you just remote wipe the phone from the android device manager webpage?

cannot login anywhere!!! super bizarre

At some point yesterday the phone shut down, presumably out of low battery? Showed 55% but I'm having the known battery problems, where it shuts down randomly anywhere between 30% and 60% .
Now, when I opened it back, I am logged out of almost every account only with a few exceptions, and cannot login anywhere!!!!!
Of course there is internet, of course the passwords are correct etc. Any service accessible via PC I can still access normally.
So there's something seriously wrong with the phone and it's really, really bizarre.
Anyone has any idea what it is?
tl;dr - phone cannot login to any account via apps - when password is given and it's supposed to login, it simply returns back to the first login screen.
This applies to almost all accounts - exceptions being LinkedIn and Messenger.
My assumption is Google Play Services got really messed up somehow, and the 2 above apps don't use it for logging in.

Note10+ move from Samsung Cloud to Onedrive -> server fault

All,
Today I received the firmware update for my Note10+ that contains the OneDrive integration. As I already have an Office365 subscription with 1Tb storage in OneDrive, I wanted to move there for backup. However, when I go through the Microsoft account linking part (enter Microsoft account, password, security code, password again), the app returns to the initial welcome screen with a message: server fault, please try again later.
Anyone else who has this error, or were you able to link the Samsung Cloud to Onedrive yet?
I have the exact same problem
i got the beta UI today and i was able to log in on first try. unlocked 10+ . already had onedrive. i use the microsoft authenticator and i had no issues .
Anyone with this problem fixed it yet? @Kruxarn, @marctronixx, any of you use 2 step verification on your Microsoft account?

Thanks for your feedback! I will try soon, as I have reported the issue with Samsung as well. I'll wait for their response before disabling/re-enabling the 2 factor auth.
Gerco
Seriously, what a disaster... Here my journey with the Samsung Support team...
- I initially made a call explaining the problem. The support agent told me that the integration is not active yet. I explained that a specific extra firmware was released in the Netherlands, explicitly reporting this feature in the release notes, so it would really surprise me if it was not available. The support agent then told me that the tech person was unavailable, but that they would call me back, the same day.
- I never received the call back, so I logged a question via Samsung Members. I got a response on that, telling me I had to send a screenshot and a log file (after enabling high level debug logging) on help.content.samsung.com
- I made a screenshot, but the log that was mentioned in a standard log enable procedure was not present on my phone, so I sent them again a clear description of the error, with a screenshot of the error, and a screenshot of the logs that were present, together with the question which of the logs shown they would need.
- This request was immediately answered that the samsung tech dept was going to look into it.
- Then I received an answer on the support site, telling me I had sent an invalid log file, and attached was the same procedure which was incorrect. I then looked for the 'reply' button. But wait.... THAT IS NOT PRESENT! You can only pose one question on which you receive an answer, but a customer is not able to reply to the thread again. No case numbers, whatever, to reference the question.
- So I called the support desk again, referring to the question on the support site. The response of the agent: "Unfortunately we can't see that, can you explain your problem please?" I then told her that Samsung first promised to call me back, which they didn't, and I told them that my problem description with the question about which logs to be sent, was not read at all (trust me, I am a tech guy, I know all about problem descriptions and logs) and I received a default reply instead. The support agent responded, "but we are not allowed to call back". After a few more words, she told me, "please hold on", and I thought I was put on hold.
- BUT NO! The agent actually put me back in the queue, as she probably did not want to talk to me anymore! So I ended up with another support agent, who I had to explain the problem again from start. I was again told that the tech person was not available. I asked if he could call me back when he was, but again it was confirmed that Samsung support is not allowed to call customers... Like WTF... They can't call back people who bought their most expensive flagship phones?? The support agent then advised me to call the Account department. I asked if she could transfer me, but of course, she could not.
- So I called the Account department. I AGAIN eplained the problem, and the Account guy told me that that made sense, as the Onedrive service is not available in Europe yet. I again explained that Samsung explicitly released a separate additional firmware update with this feature in the release notes. He told me that he would email me some information and when I have received the information, I could call back and I would directly speak to the person who knew all about it.
- At this point I was so pissed by how this went, I disabled the two-step authentication on my Microsoft account, and I could indeed connect to Onedrive!!! The only problem now is that the Settings give an error when backed up.
- But I decided to give them one more call to see how they would respond. And I indeed got the person on the line who her colleague referred to earlier. She told me she had sent me an email telling me what log to send. When I asked her the time and date of that email, she mentioned a time which was half an hour before I even created the request. As I own the email server on which the email should be delivered, I could check the logs there, and no email was received at that moment. She did mention the name of the log file though. However, a log file I have, that mostly resembles what was requested, was in a Gear folder and contains mainly logging about the Gear services. At this moment I told her that the problem was fixed by temporarily disabling the two step verification on the Microsoft account, and I asked her if the service was indeed unavailable in Europe, as her colleague told me. She told me that the service should be available.
Conclusion:
On all ways of contacting Samsung, there is no way in responding on a reply, whether it is in Samsung Members, on the support site, or via email. One answer from Samsung should apparently be enough, and Samsung actually does not want to talk to customers (as one of the agents just transferred me away). The support staff tells me there is no way to get in direct touch with the tech staff. There are no procedures for complaints, they are not allowed to call back customers...
When you look at how Samsung exposes their support (via Samsung Members, Facebook Chat, phone, etc.) it looks as they go the extra mile for their customers, but when you actually talk to them, you end up in a non-flexible inefficient non-motivated support maze....Way to go, for flagship fans....
Ok... I'm a little more calm now...
My apologies for my rant....
please, who migrated samsung cloud to onedrive could confirm if the files appear on windows 10 PC in the default system folders or backups appear in another specific folder? I have Xbox shared with a friend and I don't want him seeing my cellphone stuff on his Xbox ... Can the vault be set up to save things on it?

I got OneDrive connected (I did not want to say 'working'), but I can't find any backup related items in the standard OneDrive folders, except that the Gallery sync can go there (but only from internal memory, not from SD card). The only thing I notice is that when going to the Samsung Cloud settings page, various links go to the OneDrive app instead of Samsung folders.

Exactly, my sync was not working, I removed everything and redo the sync and returned to normal, really only appears in windows the gallery photo folder, the other things that backs up (files) does not appear, anyway I stopped sharing My Microsoft account with a friend on Xbox, I didn't want him seeing my photos and videos on his console.
I disabled this option and just went back to old fashioned Onedrive with camera upload.
Since 2011 I have had all my photos automatically backed up to the Camera Roll folder but with Samsung integration it puts photos in Samsung Gallery folder and no option to change that I can see.
I want to continue with my photos in the same Camera Roll folder and not have them go somewhere else and have to manually move them.

Does it use an app folder or need full access to the entire OneDrive account?
OneDrive for Business
I have an Office 365 account which includes 1 TB of storage in OneDrive. When I try to enble "link Samsung Account with Microsoft account" within the Samsung cloud app, and enter my Microsoft username/email its says no such account exists. I had this problem using the OneDrive app on my Windows 10 desktop computer as well, but I solved that by deleting the OneDrive app that comes pre-installed on Windows 10 and installing the OneDrive for Business app. I could then sign in and backup to OneDrive on my desktop computer. Now on the phone, I have no problem signing into my account with the actual OneDrive app that came pre-installed on the Note 10+. That app lets me enter my Office 365 account username/email and on the OneDrive app, but not on this linking page for Samsung cloud. Any ideas on a workaround would be appreciated.

All,
Today I received the firmware update for my Note10+ that contains the OneDrive integration.

I finally managed to get the connection working. It turned out that you can only connect using Microsoft's own Authenticator app. Using auth codes from third party apps give problems.
However, I ran into another issue. It turns out that the gallery sync to OneDrive does not support files > 1Gb. I had some video's I recorded, and they did not get synced. Samsung's response was: upload them manually to the OneDrive folder and they show up in the Gallery. But come on...
Hi to all. I am trying to connect Samsung cloud with one drive on my Samsung Galaxy S10e. The problem is that I have enabled two factor authentication on my Microsoft account and when I am doing all the steps the app keeps asking me for my password after the verification and it cannot pass that page and i cannot connect . If i disable the two factor authentication on my Microsoft account the app works well, but when I re-enable the two factor authentication after the login the app keeps saying that there is a problem and it cannot sync. Any ideas?

Hi I found a solution that works!!!!
Download the Microsoft authentication app. Remove other 2FA app from your Microsoft account and keep only the Microsoft authentication app.
Do a reset on one drive app on your phone (delete data from this app) and the re connect one drive using Microsoft authentication app.
Then connect you phone to your computer and copy all of your photos from your computer to the dcim folder on your phone.
Then move or delete the photos and videos from the Samsung gallery folder on your computer. Don't let any other files inside there. Let the phone make the sync.
There is a problem though. Samsung cloud cannot sync files like *.mov. Then check which files aren't sync. You can convert the files with your phone later by editing them within the gallery app.
Sorry for my bad English.
Hope it helps
