Question question regarding banking apps in Egypt and Rom stability - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello,
i have ordered an F3 phone and it's currently been shipped to my location, i don't plan on using the default MUI stock rom as i don't like the idea of bloatware
so my question is what is the current most stable lightweight Rom for that phone that have no issues with banking app speically the once in Egypt like CIB-bank or AL-Ahly-bank
sorry if my question is a bit naive and thanks in advance for your replays

I recommend https://xiaomi.eu

that's great thanks a lot for the information.

Your choice is between a debloated variant of MIUI (like Xiaomi.eu ROM) or AOSP (original Android UI Design).
I personally prefer AOSP because its clean and smooth, however I'm on Xiaomi.eu because MIUI Dolby Atmos and MIUI Camera App are only on MIUI.
In terms of Banking Support. You just have to make sure you are passing Google SafetyNet.
That's the most likely reason why a Banking app might not work for you, in the case your OS is failing SafetyNet-Check.

Firstly, thanks a lot for your reply and the information you provided.
Secondly, aren't there any alternatives in the AOSP Rom for these 2 apps especially the Dolby one since I'm more interested in the quality of sound rather than the camera?

As a good camera alternative there are Google Camera Ports ("Gcam") which support many devices. There are many devs/porters of Gcam with varying feature-set and bugginess. They can be ok/good, but don't have all features that the MIUI Camera has, but it comes close. Can also crash sometimes. Some people like Gcam over MIUI Cam, but for me it's a definite opposite. MIUI Cam photos clearly show more details for me.
Best website for Gcam Ports:
Google Camera Ports Download
Modified Google Camera ports by BSG, Arnova8G2, ivanich, and others. Download hub for GCam ports.
www.celsoazevedo.com
As for Dolby Atmos. There are Dolby Atmos Magisk Modules but they sound like utter rubbish, unfortunately. Those are ports of Razer's DA and Motorola's DA, however they simply make audio sound virtualised (like inside a tin can), instead of expanded and richer.
So they are nothing compared to MIUI Dolby Atmos.
You can find Equalizer apps on the Play Store as an alternative, but well, those are not Dolby Atmos. ^^
If sound's (and cam) is important to you, get Xiaomi.eu ROM. Also set Dolby Atmos to Video Mode. ^^
That's my take
Edit:
However, should also note that Xiaomi.eu isn't simple. It has many Xiaomi system apps. It does not have ads or third party apps pre-installed, but I should mention. ^^ Since you were looking at something minimalistic. And MIUI isn't that.

A great amount of information I have to say, well it's not like I'm totally minimalistic person but I hate bloatware, ads, and the feeling that my data is been used by the company that I bought my phone from, however, this answer helped me on getting a better picture on what are the pros and cons of using the original Rom debloated vs AOSP Rom still thinking which way to go tho since the phone will arrive in 4 days till then I will keep looking for more information.
in the end thanks a lot for the time and information and time you provided me.

Any AOSP Custom ROM with Dual Apps feature like MIUI?

Dear all,
I love the dual app feature on MIUI and I'm already using it. Is there any other AOSP roms with this feature, NATIVELY SUPPORTED?
I don't want to install a third party app from Google Store, MIUI has it natively supported and it's working flawlessly so far.
Regards.

Okay, acknowledged, thanks for the answer.
So how come it's working flawlessly in MIUI? I guess it shows that MIUI is a really well developed ROM. I don't understand why people choose custom ROMs over MIUI... Just because Oreo and Pie difference?

You would never understand the difference to play games at high resources then, and google camera, and no secret ads, and so on, and so on.
AOSP gives you a lot of free space and resources to work with. You would not understand why people prefer AOSP based ROMs unless you actually try one.
And as for dual app feature, you can try using Parallel Space

Dude..just get miuipro or masik if you need stable dual apps and they also have miui gcam and all ads removed.
Dont listen to these AOSP praisers.
Miui is almost flawless as of now.

I don't really play games on my phone, I play games on my awesome laptop CS:GO and Dota 2. I have Google Camera on my MIUI too, arnova port. Also no ads. However, AOSP ROMs don't have dual apps feature and they need a third party software for this. MIUI doesn't

Agreed, I'm pretty much happy with MIUI. I was just wondering if there is such AOSP ROM, so maybe I could give it a try. Dual apps feature is a MUST for me, as I have multiple accounts on some platforms and I have to be online on them all.
What's the difference between Masik and MIUI Pro? Which one would you recommend?

Both are essentially the same but miuipro offers just a tad bit more customisation here and there.

Here's the thing, idc with what games did you play on your laptop. But if you need a high frames and high quality games, you would need another rom because last time I checked miui is limiting user to do so. And it's a gift for me. Anyway, it's my two cents, no one is forcing you here.

I would recommend you to use parallel space. There are also some other apps like Dual Space ,2accounts,moChat etc
Now to answer the question of the thread,no there is no custom rom built from source which supports dual apps feature as they are just bare vanilla roms with some tweakings here and there. Many people including me prefers that as they don't need that much feature of miui and some also hate the miui interface.
Now if you want to use some other custom rom which has dual apps support then go for treble roms like Funtouch OS,oxygen OS,colour OS and Zen UI roms .Since these roms are not built from source, they have some bugs here and there but it's worth a try if you are feeling adventurous and are looking for roms with dual apps feature

I used parallel space and island in the past. The concept of this two apps are different but I tend to like parallel space more as it was not really make me messing with system file more

I recommend you to think again.
Xiaomi Cloud home screen does not backup MIUI dual apps.
TWRP does not backup MIUI dual apps.
TitaniumBackup does not backup MIUI duap apps.
TWRP does backup Parallel space app.

If you don't what AOSP is, I suggest you to stick with the stock rom.
About the Russian roms mentioned above, use roms only from trusted sources like Lineage OS. There are shady people out there and you will never know what is inside the rom.
You can use app cloner to do that. By this software you can create your own app. That can work as a dual app. By app cloner you will be able to create infinite amount of copy's of that app. And you can use 100+ account together if you got space .
So, you can try app cloner on miui for a test. And also app cloner is filled with other amazing features as well

Camera performance on Lineage/custom roms? (New og XL user here)

Hey guys,
I just bought a brand new Pixel XL 128gb yesterday. Yay! Quite happy with the purchase, since I got it for 270e brand new in box and it's replacing my Moto Z Play, which is also a 2016 phone, but a mid-range one, so the performance boost is quite noticeable.
Moreover, the camera performance on the Pixel vs that Moto is absolutely insane. Especially since my Moto is on Lineage, which makes the camera noticeably worse than stock.
My question is: How is the Pixel XL camera performance on Lineage or other custom ROMs?[ Does the Google Cam app work (can I even install it straight from the Play Store, does it still recognize it as compatible)? I've been trying to google the answer to this for an hour at least, but to no avail. So I'm really not sure if it all just works 100% fine or it's a downgrade as it usually is because of proprietary blobs and what not.
I like the phone very much, but I hate how the Google ROM is not letting me disable and delete things and overall I'm just very used to everything on Lineage and I prefer using the light weight apps from there, instead of apps that have been googleified for no reason (I want the stock AOSP Gallery, Messaging, etc). I've already replaced the launcher since I couldn't even remove the two default widgets (ffs!) but that's not really the same.
TL;DR - I want to switch to a custom ROM (prefferably Lineage) and keep the amazing camera performance on my og XL, is that possible?
Since razorloves includes the camera blobs in lineage, yes you can install/use google camera (I don't think it shows up from searching in the play store, so use this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera)
The quality will be the same as stock.

Are you perhaps a Lineage user yourself? Any issues in v16 or disadvantages compared to stock? I don't use any of the Google stuff, except Gmail and the Play store.

Heya. I have finally set everything up and I can confirm that by installing Google Cam (straight from the Play Store) after flashing Lineage 16 + gapps you do indeed still get absolutely the same high quality camera performance.
To me this is absolutely amazing, as with all phones on Lineage before I've been suffering from noticeably or even drastically reduced camera performance. I love it. And Lineage 16 runs beautifully, too.

Few questions about miui 12 for Whyred

Redmi note 5 pro AI miui 12
Hi, I have a few questions about miui 12 RN5 pro AI
This is my only device, so I can't flash the xiaomi.eu and test it.
1. The android still version 9 Pie in miui 12, so does it come with privacy protection ?
2. Does it include the features Virtual ID in privacy protection ?
3. If xiaomi global / china already reach the final rom version and no support anymore, does that mean xiaomi.eu will stop updating the rom too ?
Tbh, I just want the privacy protection features, it looks awesome :good:
We can give access to app permission only while using the app, and disable them to use the permission in background is great.
I just want to give online banking to use permission all the time, and other application only while I am using it
Yes it does come with privacy protection
Yes Eu roms will be stopped after Xiaomi stop releases for whyred (as Eu builds are based on China stable/weekly

Yeah i have tried Los, but I wasn't impressed with it.
The privacy protection is much improved and implementation is also good.
I was fooled by this as I was using the rom and whenever i tried to register on Banking apps "No sim card card error was popping", after searching on xda i found that this privacy feature blocks imei and sim card acesss to ? apps and u have to manually change it.

Right now I am more focusing to privacy because I get hacked a few times before, well at least I learnt a lot after getting hacked :highfive:
Lineageos trust only can allow, deny and ask everytime
Meanwhile privacy protection in miui can allow, deny, ask everytime, or only use permission while in-app, that's huge + already.
Can't wait for the miui 12 on whyred global. I hate to changing rom again because it breaks a lot of my apps, most of them crashed, stopped after restored.
The worst is one of my banking apps can't backed up, and the bank is not available in my town, I need to use hard token and get it fixed when I travel again :crying:

Well this is gonna be a long story, but the most important thing is never use weak password.
1. Check at https://haveibeenpwned.com , see which one of ur email already got breached in the site, if u got breached, and use the same password for all account, u are dead :good: , that's why I am using password manager and generated unique long, strong, mix password for every account, if one of account breached, the rest will be fine. Bitwarden is the best to go :fingers-crossed: and I am gonna using keepass for now, just search a lot on internet which password manager u want and comparison, bitwarden and keepass just my own preference and experience :good:
2. When you search on the internet, what's the best antivirus for mobile, most people said android don't need antivirus, yeah that's true if you are using app from play store only :silly: , what if u are like me use modded whatsapp, instagram, etc ? First, download from trusted source only such as mobilism, and from truster user only, not some dude that signup today, and u use his mod apk, u are dead too  , and I don't said u should use antivirus either, but just use the default miui antivirus, at least it scan every apps after installing, then if u really want to use modded facebook, whatsapp, instagram like that, make sure to use 2FA on the account :highfive:
From here on out is the extra tips I suggest.
3. The reason I ask for privacy question here is to prevent some apps using my permission in background, and make sure every apps u installed got the permission it needed only, u don't want a flashlight apps request permission for contact, sms, gps, and u didn't read, and just press ok while installed, u dead once more again
4. If you really like to use custom rom, make sure to scan with virustotal on every zip u downloaded, u don't want any malware, keylogger attached, I realized many custom rom appeared and some tech wannabe in youtube just recommend this and that saying this rom is the best, etc. You never know if one of them got malware, keylogger, etc. The most suspicious one I have right now is mi globe, it offer a lot of customization based on user preference and based on xiaomi.eu but there's no much mention about it, and they don't allow comment on their site, and no community. It kinda make me curious, why such great rom don't have reviews ?

Thanks for the information that's very helpful
Peace
is whyred still in MIUI 12 BETA program?
2020-06-23, whyred is still on the MIUI-12-xda-release-list of devices that MIUI 12 is being tested for.
The next update, 2020-07-01 whyred disappeared from that list.
What am I missing here? Are those xiaomi.eu-ROMs only? Has anyone information regarding that? I would love to see MIUI 12 for this phone, miui has improved in every update and the new features look great. Somewhere was mentioned that the gfx will mostly be turned off for this device but the dropdown menu looks better than thatvon an iPhone

There's no official release about miui 12 yet for whyred, probably 1-3 months for global stable release.
And yes, they are probably from xiaomi.eu
Just check where you got the rom, as far I know there's many of them.
Revos, mi globe, mi room, xiaomi.eu, all of them got whyred miui 12
Device reached EOL status (no beta anymore), so they will continue to release only stable roms (every few months).
I'm not sure that there will be miui 13 for this device.

Unfortunately, I do not understand what you meant.
How can you be sure there will be an official update for whyred anyway ?
I interpret the disappearance of whyred from the beta/stable ROMs list that xiaomi just stopped to develop it any further. Why else would they stop testing it? There is a list of reported bugs but no releases that have fixed those.
There are 29 ROMs in development in the main MIUI12-beta/stable-thread and since 2020-06-23 nothing happened in regards to whyred. I know the rule is to not ask any questions about expected release dates but I just wanted to ask more basically:
what does EOL imply? will that be the last MIUI update for it? how reliable is your source regarding a MIUI12 release for whyred at all? I saw the list of devices that should get the MIUI12-update but they stopped to develop it for the Redmi Note 6 Pro, too, despite it being listed in the initial presentation. (reason was brick-rate was too high iirc)
The funniest thing about MIUI update is the option to "get updates sooner" (using native language-own translation). It has never worked and in case you are right in regards to further updates, it will never work.
How did one apply for beta testing of official Xiaomi ROMs ?
If my whyred-display continues to deteriorate I will need to buy a new phone anyway. One cannot read it in clear daylight if the sun burns as it does in Europe at the moment, bleeding from four or five point on the side gets worse and the ghosting with the display gets worse too.
I still like the phone as it served my well over the last two years and still can provide me with every tool I need (ok, the camera is a good point in favor of a new phone- was hoping for the POCO F2 zoom in case POCO can get their hands on the K30pro zoom ed. and rebrand it.)

EOL means End Of Life. Whyred was released back in February 2018 and it was supported till 20th of June of 2020 (I think it's Enough support).
Stable version will be available soon as it is first released for Chinese users then it is made globally.

Expect late 2020 or early 2021. I would recommend you go for custom ROMs.

Question Reasons to unlock bootloader?

Why did you unlock your bootloader? I did unlock bootloader and install custom ROM for every Android device that I have ever owned. However, surprisingly I am fairly satisfied with newest MIUI on Poco F3 and I am considering to keep it. Currently, the only thing I am missing is a firewall. I am also worried that custom ROMs often have bugs + there might be problems with banking apps.
I unlocked the bootloader in order to root the device with Magisk and mainly install AdAway ad blocker (and also YouTube Vanced), while keeping official MIUI. Same as you, I don't have any problems with the official MIUI, once all the ads are removed.

I have vanced installed with non-root method. Also I have not used Adaway in years because only few apps that I use have ads + it makes some websites to not work.

For Pixel Rom. MIUI is so cringe, I was very sad that I must use it for a one week. It's just terrible.
^^^^^^^
You're new to Miui. Give it some time and you'll get tired of it too.

Was talikng to the guy above xd
Well I personally unlocked my bootloader to use the Xiaomi.eu Custom ROM. It's MIUI but the latest version with all Xiaomi apps, not the circumsized Global version lol.
I was most interested in the Call Recording Feature in the Xiaomi Phone App. And Android 12. I believe I have more reasons but can't think of them... I really like Call Recording. Idk. I'm a stalker i think.

How is Viper4android better than Wavelet? I have had less problems with Wavelet. It does not need unlocking bootloader also.

Tried Wavelet long ago. Cant comment.
Viper4a is not just an equalizer, its way much more. I personally like bass dynamic settings and possibility to choose bass frequenvys manually.

MIUI Dolby Atmos is superior.
Wavelet sucks too.
I'm not a fanboy of chinese social credits but its just the truth.
Viper4a doesn't impress me quite as much as MIUI Dolby does.

My experience - Resurrection Remix Q (A10) - GSI - Unofficial

hi everyone, I'm here to share my absolutely positive experience with Resurrection Remix Q compiled by @RobotHanzo, it's just (almost) perfect for me.
After a week of test, i can say: everything works properly.
~Ril
~Data
~GPS (perfectly, setting "only device")
~fingerprint sensor (even after each reboot), very quick response
~NFC
~face unlock
~LTE + (plus) is working (at least the indicator)
~perfect functionality of double SIM implementation
~incredibly there's a gcam reasonably working (only on perfect brightness condition, only back camera of course):
MGC_8.3.252_V0e_Arnova_V5.apk.
*the shot is more fast Of The stock installed android.camera2.
Just 2 little (for me) bugs:
A) a single SIM is not disabling.
B) the level on SIM indicator is stating at low value.
Rarely in my experience I've found a cusRom (even specifically, officially dedicated) more stable of this so, after a week of test my impressions is absolutely amazing, no lags, no app crashes, no reboot, at all!

and what about the photo quality?
Imo the best camera for Hua devices under GSI ROMs is Footej Camera2-Premium. If you want to try it, click here .

On good light conditions, during daylight especially, the results Of The main camera (back camera only) only in HDR+ (killer feature of gCam), is reasonably better!
In low light conditions there are heavy problems of incorrect saturation:
On the left an example of stock (custom Rom) camera, on the right the gcam Cam I've found reasonably working.

Footej is absolutely better of stock camera present by default on custom rom ( com.android.camera2), just in terms of smoothness and quick response when you launch the app, the quality of picture in my opinion is moreless the same, unfortunately the HDR feature is incomparable with the one of gcam.
This is just my impressions, unfortunately I've not a great skills for set the single value (ISO, exposure...etc..), maybe this is the reason.

You can also try Bacon Camera and Vector Camera (from f-droid.org, not G. Play). Both also work on A12 GSI.

ok @-Alf- ,thanks...for now in these days I plan to stay on this wonderful RR (A10), maybe in the future I will test some A12 cusRom, do you have never tried this one from @RobotHanzo?
For me is absolutely incredible the smoothness, stability and solidity of this build...I've never tried a gsi romS (I'm a custom maniac since 2013), in my (wrong a this point) opinion the only solid solution was a official, specific release for each different device, snapdragon as usual...apart the gcam incompatibility, this little, old device, fly with this GSI version of RR! Even the battery backup is amazing, 3:40-4hours of SOT per day, I'm shocked!!

I've tried until now (last 15 days):
LosQ: very laggy, there's no NFC and, most important, the fingerprint sensor stop working after 1st reboot.
Lir: NFC is not present, fingerprint stop work after 1st reboot and, most important, there's no way to flash a gapps package (not works Bit, Nik, Flame, Open and Lite).
Crdrom: exactly the same problems of LosQ.
Lineage 16 (official and not) have a very big problem for me: the second SIM implementation don't exist (probably like every Pie build, GSI and not).
Havoc: official GSI have a fully working NFC but the fingerprint stop working after 1st reboot, (after 1st reboot the fingerprint sensor work only just for notification panel etc...), then I've tried to set a face unlock but, a this point, the system become unstable and starting several reboots.
These are the reasons why i consider this RR almost a masterpiece (just poweroff alarm don't work, but i think this is impossible on device with 2 recovery installed at the same time, or maybe is typical aspect of GSI roms).
*always pardon for my English!!

I've follow the identical procedure for every flash, thanks your suggestions, i suspect (just an idea) which the p20 lite mount a different fingerprint sensors on different sample of this model (like on Xiaomi goodix/fpc), tell me if i wrong!

My flashes is always with vanilla package, inbuilt gapps is so heavy in my opinion, the problem happened when i try flash a gapps package on build "...bvZ", i don't know why.
