Hi, I just recently acquired the Mi6 after 2 years with an iPhone and I'm just glad I went back to Android. But after trying the ROM that the phone came with and Xiaomi.eu ROM I can't control the volume of bluetooth devices like iPhones do. After a short search on google it seems it has to do with the AD2P bluetooth protocol and I can't seem to find a solution. I have come across several apps that set the volume level, like profiles for any given bluetooth device but it's not what I need, the thing is if I want to change the volume I would need to set the full volume on speaker everytime I use it, which is kind of annoying. I tried disbaling the "Absolute Volume" option in the Developer Setting on both ROMs but neither worked. So I came here looking for suggestions.
apparently we are the only 2 people on earth who care about this. unfortunately i have no answer for you and am still struggling with this on my s7edge. i do find it funny that there are far more threads about people having issues DISABLING absoulte volume control when it's already not working and is disabled lol.
I've been trying to find a solution for about 3 years now without any success on the MIUI ROM. Other custom ROMs do not have this issue and the media and Bluetooth volume is linked. So I guess the only solution right now is a custom ROM.
Connect, change device name to start with ABS-DO-ENABLE, don't play anything, reboot everything, connect, done
So for the last 2 days, when connected via Bluetooth to my 2018 ford f150 with latest Sync 3, my s9 keeps dropping the Bluetooth connection to the truck and reconnecting.
I get a message on the dash saying that it is reconnecting to the phone, and on the phone, I get a warning that "maximum volume could damage ears"
The phone defaults to max volume when connected via Bluetooth.
I saw in a samsung Tech forum thread someone said to disable volume syncing within the phones Bluetooth settings, but mine is already off saying the connected device doesn't support it.
Anyone have any similar issues ?
Phone is an international version with the Exonys chipset and was purchased on Sunday.
I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra that's constantly having issues with Bluetooth with my S9 Exynos as well. Funny thing is, it seems to only disconnect/reconnect whenever nothing is playing through Bluetooth streaming audio. If I have music playing, no disconnects whatsoever. If I pause the music, it'll eventually disconnect. One of my friends with a 2014 Ford Fiesta has the same problem, and his S9 is a Snapdragon variant.
I'm thinking it's a bug with Samsung's ROM.
There are a few Bluetooth options you can change in Developer Options
If you don't know how to enable it:
Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap on "Build Number" a few times until it says "You are now a developer"
Go back to main settings screen > developer options should be available at the bottom
I did some more testing and I have a suspicion that it's something to do with the volume warning. The volume iis maxed out by default and can't be turned down while connected to the sync3 system.

MY phone is constantly connected to my Ford Sync and I've never gotten that warning, but I never have my media volume maxed. If you reduce the volume before syncing, does it still drop the connection? After reading again I see that you said max volume is enabled by default and I guess I never noticed that, but I still haven't seen mine disconnect.
I am having this issue in my 2016 F150 with the latest SYNC 3. Did anyone find a solution?

youll find that when problems are discussed and possible solutions offered by folks like detection here that threads often go cold as the solution offered often worked and the person who got their answer doesnt come back and report it. Not saying that this is what happened here, but its possible. Go into developer options and disable the absolute volume warning. I always disable that anyways because i like my music loud, i know the dangers and i dont need my phone telling me how loud to listen to music lol i mean, who the hell does my phone think it is anyways??? (kidding on that last part, of course)

I was browsing DEVELOPER OPTIONS and ran across a setting, that I do not know if ON or OFF is best.
SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTIONS > NETWORKING > DISABLE BLUETOOTH A2DP HARDWARE OFFLOAD
I am unsure which was default and could not find the benefits of either selection.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

According to this article the default is off, but it does not say what the purpose of the toggle is.

Thanks! At least this confirms what I thought.
I think I inadvertently turned it on, while scrolling. I believe that's why I noticed it, in the first place, because the switch was blue and obvious.
Did you ever figure out what the purpose of the toggle is?

Different manufacturers/Models of phones have it disabled or it resets when the phone starts. This could be to do with them implementing their own audio processor (DAC/Chip/etc) for processing the audio. It has no effect when changed according to anyone that's bothered to trying it.

It will affect gapless playback on GPM (dont know about other services) with Bluetooth headphones ( dont know why)
enabling this feature helped me fix a low volume problem on a Bluedio T6 bluetooth headphones.
I want to know exactly what this is too. I only know that it makes music track transitions on GPM gappless. I found that suggestion on Reddit when I was trying to listen to Dark Side of the Moon and the damn gaps kept ruining my chill. :laugh:
I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running Derpfest (android 9 pie) rom.I toggled it off and it asked me to restart my phone.So I did and now it's greyed out.Plus I noticed a slight difference in audio quality while using my BT earphones.Any way of turning it back on or I'll have to live with the consequences?
Yeah at the bottom of dev settings you can reset all to default.

This happened to me too. To fix this, in the developer settings menu, toggle Developer Options off then without leaving that screen, toggle it back on again. Scroll down and you should be able to toggle that setting off.

This is causing me to have no audio in my tws Bluetooth earphones.
I am not able to turn off A2DP feature in the phone. When I do it asks me to restart my phone and after restart it is already ON again.

I recently bought an earphone which supports LDAC so i was testing every settings and experimenting all the developer options available, i came across this option and when i disabled it my earphones stopped playing audio like even if tracks were playing i couldn't hear anything and when i turned it back on everything was normal again.....but if u really wanna give yourself a heartattack you are welcome to try have a great day ; )

When disabling it you have to restart your phone and of the feature is working it will remain off and your headphones will work
google voice stopped to work when i turned on this option.
most of you are toggling an option without knowing what it does.
Shouldn't be better understanding exactly what it's for ?

Hello there fellow Xiaomi users, I have a problem with my Bluetooth earbuds and it's driving me insane! I hope you can help me out. When I connected my newly purchased bluetooth sony earbuds (the model is WF-XB700) I noticed that the volume was really low, maybe 50% less than it should've been. I was perplexed, but had a couple of quick ways to determine the problem. I connected the earplugs to a Iphone 8 and they worked just fine, 100% of their capacity. Then I connected my Xiaomi Mi 2A lite to some other bluetooth headphones (model Pioneer se-ms7bt) and they also worked as they should've. Then I connected the earbuds to a Xiaomi Mi A3 and to my surprise, I could also detect the Low Volume Issue there too! So, it must be something Android/Xiaomi related.
Then I went on a really energy draining odyssey on google to find a solution. What I did find was, firsty, that it was a known issue and secondly, that the myriad of solutions presented did not help me at all. This is a list of the things I tried, some of which spawned problems too :
1) Disabling absolute volume in developer settings.
2) Tinkering with all the options in the develper option - even the following (I will copy paste in from an other thread , which according to many people has worked :
Enable Developer Options (options -> system -> about phone -> click build number 7 times)
Press back
Go to settings, and search AVRCP.
Click on Bluetooth AVRCP Version and ensure it is on 1.6.
Next, search for Absolute
Select Disable Absolute Volume and turn this toggle on, if it isn't already.
Unpair all Bluetooth devices. Restart your device. Pair the devices again. To the right of each Paired Bluetooth device in the Bluetooth settings page is a gear icon, go into each device and turn off the Phone Calls toggle, leaving only Media audio enabled.
Exit settings, connect to the Bluetooth device, start playing something. Increase the volume using the volume up button and rejoice as the volume goes as loud as you need!!!
3) Putting the volume up in the Sony Headphones app. - So, officially the app doesn't support the WF-XB700. There are two options for detection. The first is a list of the supported devices (mine is not there) and the other is a ,,detect via bluetooth''. Tried the second option but it doesn't work
4) Increasing the volume on the physical buttons on the device. Mine are earbuds and have only one button for on/off
5) Ensuring the eartips are tightly fit in my ear.
6) Making sure the earbud isn't blocked by anything.
7) Resetting the phone
8) Changing the Region - This I actually did not succeed in doing. It turns out that the option to change the region has been removed. If there is a way to do it, please inform me.
9) Trying all the volume booster apps in the store.
10) Restart or enable and disable airplane mode
11) Forgeting and pairing the device again
Could the bluetooth version difference be the problem. Mine is 4.2 and the buds are 5.0. According to google there should't be a difference regarding the sound volume/quality, only range and connection strenght. Please help me, I have wasted more than five hours already and I ran out of options to try. Thanks in advance !

Xiaomi removes Bluetooth codecs intentionally from this phone (and seems like from Mi A3 too). Because Xiaomi dont want to pay 1$ fee for codec. Thats why it works as expected on iPhone. It's all about greediness.
Same codec issue is proper on Miui roms too. This means Redmi 6 Pro has an Bluetooth codec issue too. We can probably say same thing (according to ur first post) for Mi A3 and for its Miui version Xiaomi Mi CC9e.

All of them probably has same issue. I didnt use any flagship of Xiaomi or any other Android phone since Jelly Bean so cant say anything about other brands except Apple. I used an iPhone between those times. iPhones has proper bluetooth codecs. You cant fix it via resetting ur phone or something like that.
SBC is the default codec and none of others will work.
Qualcomm is the owner of these aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive audio codecs. We have an qualcomm chipset on our phone too but xiaomi didnt want to pay for these to earn more money from us. So thats why we are stuck on SBC. Dont buy any android device just by looking its specs from websites. Check out everything in the shop (bluetooth, camera,..etc.) before buy.

They are literally making 1$ per phone. Stop spreading missinformation
Am I going mad here? I have searched and searched and cannot see anywhere the option to sync the blutooth volume between the phone and headphones.
On Huawei/Honor phones previously it was in the settings for the attached headphones but is nowhere to be seen now, nor is there the bluetooth absolute option anymore in developer settings.
Seems a massive step back if this is no longer available.
