I'm assuming you haven't unlocked your bootloader yet, so unfortunately you will not be able to upgrade to a higher android version until you do so.
Refer to the following thread:
[UNLOCK][UNOFFICIAL][G4] Unlock ANY* LG G4 device with UsURead everything thoroughly and make sure you understand it completely. This is the only proven way to unlock your H812 bootloader as it cannot be unlocked 'Officially'.
Many of us have done this in order to upgrade our H812's to newer based android versions - LineageOS tends to be the gold standard of the custom roms that allow you to have a higher based android version on your phone but other choices are available. Just scroll through the LG G4 threads. when you have unlocked your bootloader and installed a custom recovery, e.g. TWRP.

I just realized I got reply here.
Okay so Iooking through this, I needed to use SALT....which I have to use mAid to do so. so I try putting together my old 2014 computer parts and tried booting the MAid ISO up but I've keep getting the message:
Device did not show up after 30 seconds. after "starting up 25.1-8 manjaro". I have tried flashing the ISO through ventoy, etcher and rufus and NONE of them will let me boot the ISO. I do not know what to do here.

Few questions regarding G4

Hi guys i have few questions regarding the lg g4 hope u can help
1. How is the bootloader system and how it works in comparision to htc's s-off and s-on cause with htc's if you got some hardware problems u just go stock and s-on voila valid warranty.
2. How broad is the developer base and interest in lg devices as comapred to htc and samsung devices.
3. How broad is the scope for developer support for dual sim g4 variant as this is the one being launched in India (kind of hoping that they will launch the international variant.)
4. Now i know that there are various guides for root and flashing and everything but i just gotta ask this is there some software to be used like samsung's odin
for flashing or is it direct like htc just use cmd.
5. One last question im stuck between note 4 and lg g4 and i am not able to make up my mind between these two so hoping that members with can help me this.
I have used samsung and htc but i have no idea regarding lg never used one so please bear with me.

The bootloader is currently locked and cannot be unlocked. It will take a developer to try and find an exploit to be able to unlock it. With the G3, this took around 6 months. If and when it is unlocked there should be good developer support. There is currently no root methods for the G4,it can't be rooted at the moment.

EDIT : LOOK HERE

Rooting the H815: Should I unlock the bootloader or not?

I have received my new LG G4 H815 (EU) phone today and I definitely want to root the phone. Now I'm asking myself whether I should unlock the bootloader or not.
As far as I understand, there are two completely different options for getting root access to the device:
1. Register on LG site, officially unlock bootloader, install TWRP image via fastboot, install root via TWRP
2. Walk through the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
According to the thread you should disable OTA upgrades after rooting it and there is always the possibility that LG patches this rooting method with future Android Upgrades. However, I do want to upgrade the Android system image from time to time (LG will probably provide an upgrade to Android 6.0 sooner or later). Will upgrading the Android system (without loosing root) be less problematic when I unlock the bootloader now? As far as I understand it so far, you can easily root it again after an upgrade if you have unlocked the bootloader. Is that correct? Can I still use OTA upgrades when the bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed? I don't mind running fastboot to reinstall TWRP after an upgrade but I don't really like to manually download each Android upgrade from shady mirror sites instead of using the official LG OTA updater.
I do know that unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty and that some Apps may refuse to work no an unlocked device. I'm ok with that and I want to have the phone permanently rooted and install updates (without loosing root) with as little trouble as possible.
Since unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything, I want to do it either now (before setting up the phone) or never. So what would you recommend?

Just bought G4 - Software Update & Root Query!

Afternoon all,
I've just today bought a LG G4 here in the UK.
I am planning on rooting the device using the locked bootloader method. I did some reading and I understand this is not possible with the Marshmallow Update so i am trying to be cautious of that - the phone currently says that there is no updates available at the minute but I know these things can sometimes take some time to filter through.
I am just wondering if the device is on the latest EU software before Marshmallow or if I should manually update it to the latest Lollipop version if there is anything newer?
The software info currently shows:
Android version 5.1
Kernel Version 3.10.49
Build Number LMY47D
Software Version V10d-EUR-XX
Hardware Info just says the model number is LG-H815.
Any advise would be appreciated. The method I am planning on doing is the one where you inject root into your own image you take via Download Mode.
Thanks

The software version is the latest. The way you wish to root it is up to you, but since you have the H815, unlocking the bootloader is much easier method IMO.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Right now I don't want to go unlocking the bootloader and voiding my warranty whilst the device is only a few days old.
Probably will do the bootloader unlock when I am 100% happy with the device.

Hello, all very warmly on the forum
I am asking you with a very polite request for information whether TWRP Recovery is already available
which can be installed on a locked Bootlader in the LG G4 h815?
I currently have an Android 6.0 MM smartphone in it.
As described in the Google Play Store, the official recovery application is available for download
TWRP - there is no description in the description for it to be unblocked
bootloader.

With a locked bootloader, you need to install this one:
[TWRP][any G4][BL LOCKED] TWRP-in-FIsH for all LOCKED G4 devices by steadfasterX - it works a charm ... but ... you will need to downgrade to Android 5.1 and root your phone first. Note: You will not be able to install custom roms as long as your bootloader is locked.

An Official Oreo edition for LG G4 h815 has not been released as far as I am aware, nor is it likely to be since very few LG G4's have even had a Nougat version release, let alone an Oreo release.
If you want Oreo you will have to unlock your bootloader and install a custom rom. Can't comment on stock Oreo vs Nougat optimization, nor can anybody else, I suspect as far as the LG G4 - you'll have to check the LG G4 Android development forums to get an idea from the custom rom versions being devloped - AOSCP or Lineage - both are not fully stable as yet though - Nougat versions are currently better as daily drivers.

Hello, thank you for your answer. Currently which version of Android Nougat 7.0 is the best optimized? Send a link.
I'll ask, if you have H815 there's a high chance you can save your time and effort and just unlock it with official LG unlock method.

Do you want to record a video like you enter the twrp from the combination of power buttons by volume down? Please, write in this method did you make your LG G4 h815? > https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/howto-complete-guide-to-unlock-twrp-t3370003
I was flashing this method from this link - but from the command in the recovery terminal it runs to a temporary one. The command for flashing enters the terminal, however, the twrp will not be taken from the combination of the power and volume down buttons. Therefore, write which application to flush root in Android MM 6.0? The application from the Google Play oficialna store to TWRP Recovery requires the root done earlier. I am asking you for your advice.

So, you're saying that you have flashed TWRP to your boot partition and asking how to revert it back? Easiest way would be just to reflash ROM(it will overwrite boot partition) or you can download Titan kernel and flash it instead(download it on PC and use USB MTP to transfer file to G4). If you want to ask how to get to TWRP via key combo then I'll tell you it's quite simple after few times especially if you're good with using your G4 one handed. When phone is off press and hold both volume down and power, then when you feel vibration and see LG logo release power button(but keep pressing volume down!) and the after briefly a second hold both buttons again. If you succeeded factory reset prompt should appear. Then press yes twice and you're in TWRP(don't worry, nothing will be wiped, it's just how LG's bootloader work). I unlocked my G4 with official method like 1.5 year ago(there wasn't unofficial unlock back then) but I did a backup of my stock v20g software with relock possibility(in case of bootloop). Now you can relock officially with Nougat bootloader

Unlocking bootloader for Realme X2 rmx1993EEA (UK) UI 2.0 Android 11

Note: I am abit confused as to what exactly uniquely identifies the device, adb tells me the device product is RMX1993EEA, model is RMX1993 and device is RMX1993L1
Hello there XDA, I have been having trouble unlocking the bootloader for my realme x2 device. As far as I can understand the only official way to unlock bootloader on Realme devices is to use their apk app submit an application and then await confirmation, which all sounds nice and easy except there is no app that works (that I know of) for the newly updated android 11, although they have an app for android 10.
A simple solution would be to rollback to android 10 except I have tried this and the system doesn't let me do this because I am trying to rollback to an earlier version. I have also tried the offical rollback package for realme x2 from the realme site but this hasn't worked either since it is for models RMX1992EX and RMX1992AEX. I have heard that you could flash the rom in fastboot... but this requires bootloader to be unlocked in the first place - quite paradoxical.
I have tried various solutions using android platform tools (adb and fastboot) and while adb works fine fastboot never works because it is always 'waiting for any device'. What I have understood is that fastboot only recognises a device once it is in fastboot mode, which also requires bootloader to be unlocked : /
I understand that the simplest solution is to just wait until realme develops its next unlocker app, but considering how new the UI version is and that the phone is an older model and so not really high up on their priority list I can imagine this would take at least another 6 months which is quite ridiculous.
So my question boils down to this - does anyone know of a way to rollback my device to Android 10 (without unlocking bootloader) so that I can then unlock bootloader with the official app or does anyone know of an unofficial way to unlock bootloader on my device (possibly a glitch in the system). Any help would be appreciated I have genuinely looked everywhere and there seems to be no hope, I am quite tech savvy (or at least confident and willing to learn) so even a very complex solution would be worth a shot. Thanks again
I know it's already more than a year since you've posted this.
But did you find a solution?
I'm stuck with the same problem.
