Question Is there any way to get Samsung DEX on this phone? - Samsung Galaxy F62 / M62

As this phone shares the same chip as the samsung galaxy note 10 would it be possible to port it from that phone and get DEX?

Set up and use Samsung DeX on your Galaxy phone or tablet
Samsung DeX gives you a PC-like experience on phones or tablets. Once it's plugged into a monitor or TV, it feels like you're using a computer or laptop.

It's not just a matter of porting the app, I think you'd have to port the whole firmware (system at the very least) since I'm almost certain DeX has some dependencies inside framework which probably don't exist in stock firmware.

If it's on the list on the link I provided previously, it's doable. Courtesy of Samsung. Sometimes Samsung has pleasant unexpected surprises...

Note 10 is on the list, F62/M62 are not. I assume they don't have it in their firmware.

Sorry if it's not on there, it's likely not doable.
There's the possibility it could be added in a latter upgrade if the hardware can support it.
You could try it per those instructions and see what happens... at the worst it won't load or you just uninstall the added apps if you can't get it to run.

Have to disagree. It's completely doable, but with root and custom edits. Not easy, but not impossible. Been using it successfully on A71, A52 and A52s, phones that have SoCs that never had it before.

Flashed pmic.elf from latest miui china Pie. I usually flash modem, bt, dspo and sbl with no problems but I guess pmic was too much for mixing firmware stuff. The phone is in EDL mode but doesn't accept anything from diffident miflash and qfil versions on different usb ports on two different PCs with Windows 10/7 and on Ubuntu with qdl. Battery removed didn't help too. Gave up and bought new one...

Does this replace MiFlash or MiUnlock?
No. Fastboot ROM flashing is available so MiFlash can mostly be substituted but implementing EDL flashing or MIUI unlocking would only make the program unnecessarily complex.

Plenty of treble gsi roms are available. Rock solid with minor issues. If you find a vendor that ships no bloatware, please share the wisdom.
Nope, I just check for Lineage OS but without that I will sell it and buy something without ads.
even EU rom has no ads and it's already perfect.
should've tried that before selling

DeX now available for S10 series(not Note 10 exclusive anymore).

Just an info:
Samsung DeX which was exclusive to the Note 10/Note 10+, is now available for Exynos S10e/S10/S10+ with the latest software update[software build G(970F/973F/975F)XXU3ASIG with September security patch] for Windows/Mac.
Wait for the OTA or download & ODIN-install full FW. :good:
Would be great if someone wants to share the ota file to see what changed in order to enable the DeX function.
After updating my phone and installing DeX on my PC (Windows 10), I connected the phone to PC which auto starts DeX on mobile and I opened DeX app, the app freezes and nothing happens. Anyone having these problems?
I wonder when Verizon snapdragon will get this update.. I just got the Sept security update .. but I don't think it has the dex thing yet

Dex functionality is already included in the firmware--it's just a matter of Samsung allowing it to work on our Snapdragon models.
I'm curious how the OP found out that Dex would work after the September update.
Was there a new Dex icon in the app drawer?

Germany, Luxembourg...also Switzerland, Panama,Baltic etc. at present(so far, at the time of writing this msg).
Irrespective of regions, as long as you have the unlocked Exynos S10 variants(for Snapdragon, DeX for PC isn't available yet) you can download and flash the FW(considering you know what you are doing properly first).
#Search for respective/separate threads for downloading and installing/flashing queries.

And irrespective of the types of PC ports being used , the end performance is somewhat sluggish in both Mac and Windows in my experience.

Either by adb sideload method or by placing the update.zip in sd card and applying it via recovery.
- A nice guide on how to update this way is mentioned HERE.(read through the 1st page).
- No it doesn't void warranty that way.
Does it need special cable or via standart? Can anybody explain me how to use it?, please.

I am interested but I didn't find unlock bootloader method for this Samsung device and a working TWRP to flash the image you provided or another GSI (in fact I would love to flash Android 11).
How does one go about trying the gsi though. We don't have access to twrp yet and only recently found a way to root the phone. To my understanding GSIs are common images for various phones no? What does this do differently from officially posted GSIs

It looks like 8.1 is the latest OEM release for that device.
Your only option to run a newer version of Android is with a custom ROM or a GSI. However, all the development I see is for the J200/J210, not the S260.

If there is no development available, the lack of a custom recovery makes things difficult.
