Hi , I got my cn rog phone , and flash To WW.63 rom , and root it to change the vendor..country to WW in root explorer, I success updated once to 95 by zip, and kept root, but 2nd update to 97, it show system fail update , but I saw the country still is WW in root explorer
However ,I check the hw info, it show cn.
And product name,vendor name , finger print etc also show CN....
deeply appreciate if anyone could tell me how to fix it

I bought my phone with the CN version, and I try to change it to WW ..
so I root the phone and then the flash dont seccess so I desided to stop try to this day and turn on the phone. and he ask me update version so i accept , and I forget that if I update when the phone is root its causes to bootloop .
so now its stuck in bootloop.
so I try to flash and first of all I use the director to change CN/TW to WW.
after that I try to flash the firmware with "update with ADB" and when its arrive to 52% its stop the install and show me on the recovery view that :
"script aborted: can't install this this package (Sun Mar 8 17:1:34 CST 2015) over newer build (Thu May 21 20:28:54 CST 2015)"
how can I fix it ?

in the past i tried to change my zenfone 2 rom, so i rooted it and i also had to update its firmware,
i tried to update it through asos website but i guess i made a mistake somewhere along the way and now i have what appears to be the Chinese firmware version. and alost the phone isn't rooted anymore.
i can't get online if i dont have wifi and i dont have google apps. very frustrating.
i want to try to change the firmware back to ww (worldwide?).
will this solve my internet and google apps problem?
how do i do this?
my current firmware version is: LRX21V.CN-Asus_Z00A-2.20.40.185_20160504_5537_user.....

So I have been trying to install Cyanogenmod 14, but I am kind of new to this, so I will probably seem pretty stupid. I basically tried to install it but forgot to unlock my bootloader. It was messed up, but I got help to install 2.20.40.184, so it works again. Now, however, I still want to install cyanogenmod 14. Partly because I for some reason don't get the OTA updates (I live in Denmark, where the Zenfone 2 isn't sold, so that may be it), so I've been stuck on lollipop since I got the phone. I don't even get a software update section under settings. So after all this, I tried to unlock the bootloader with the official app that you can download from the Asus website, however, when I do that, I get an error message saying "This device model is not supported". So looking for manual ways to root, I only found one that works with marshmallow, and when I download a ROM for marshmallow, I don't get the notification about an available software update. I also cannot enter recovery mode.

Flash it in boot loader, with AFTool
You may have a china firmware converted to WW.
Once you flash try unlock ..or update from sd card to M ...Check my signature for flashing in AFT , also clues in downgrade link for how to write M to be recognised after a reboot for updating
If not got Chinese original serial you should be fine
Then when upgraded to M , Modder tool should be ok for unlocking bl in M
Then you can install 14.1

I could need help from a pro (and I know I'm on the right website for that).
My Honor View 20 has an unlocked bootloader and runs Build-Number 9.1.0.238 (C900E54R1P3). I'd love to install PCT-L29 10.0.0.171 (C432E10R3P4) for different reasons like Security Patches, Android 10 and so on. Unfortunately it is not possible with apps like BETA, HICare or HiSuite. Getting the feedback my device number doesn't allow updates.
With an update I'm aware that my bootloader will be locked again but as there is no really benefit having an unlocked BL I can live with that. I tried to install TWRP with "Root guide" threat but TWRP stuck. In the past I found a file for my old Huawei P9 to change the cust from C900 to a "normal" version here so I hope there will be help for me here.

Problem solved!
In case somebody else has this rare problem of mine.
On https://androidhost.ru/search.html I found the latest ROM for PCT-L29. In that ZIP File beside the newest ROM I found the another file to update the CUST Version from C900 to C431.
File called update_sd_cust_PCT-L29_hw_eea.
anyway you have to go from 9.1.0.238 to 9.1.0.243 before you can update to 10.0.0.171.
You only have to go from Cust C900 to Cust C432 beforehand, but as far as I know, this is only possible with an unlocked bootloader
it should work like your P9 but I don't know if something has changed in the meantime but it could also go wrong

I was searching for firmware 9.1.0.243 but could find only higher firmware versions here
My bootloader is unlocked but there's no working TWRP available. I hoped to find the right file to change the CUST but for sure I can't use the one from the P9

I've been reading about the software updates on this forum
I have been rooting and using custom firmwares on my android phones for years but
I don't know what you mean by RAW firmware and why people wait to uptade unless there is one
Can someone explain to me what is the difference between RAW and regular firmware
And why I should or shouldnt use it?

It is not better, raw is for some phone that converted but didn't root to change the country version. For example, mine is CN unit, but I installed WW. So I can no longer receive update OTA, unless I root and change the properties to WW. But I do not want to go through the process.
So the only way for us to update, is to wait RAW version to flash it for new update.
With the update zips, there are some checks being done to make sure you are using a variant that's acceptable (i.e. if you have the CN fingerprint, you won't be allowed to flash an update made for the WW version). The RAW version has the full images for all partitions and the script you run erases the current partitions and flashes the new images without any checks, so it just works even if you have the CN fingerprint.
