This is the world of technology, whether you or I, the important thing is to share what you know
Then the step you now I looked at is only for when the version matches yours but mine is for every version
What I have written is very clear for someone with a little expertise
Then there are new steps that everyone has to adapt to
Instead of thanking something
Don't write that you care

@AkOViP100 I updated my 6s pro to your zip. Extracted the boot and patched with magisk . Went to flash and i am getting boot loop. Any idea what might be off? used the US version. v 4.20

What's the use of this?? I don't understand. Everyone knows how to do this.

How to root your Redmi Note 4 and install TWRP recovery.

WARNING: this tutorial is specifically for the Redmi Note 4 [ Qualcomm Snapdragon ] variant. Attempt to try it on other devices may brick your phone.
It is slightly technical but a really easy procedure. So carry on only if you have the skill, patience and confidence. I will not be held responsible for your mistakes, because I have tried this on my device and it works perfectly fine.
***NOTE : All links have been disabled since I am a new user. I'll update them as soon as i am over the restriction. thanks for understanding. (Just google the file you want to download, and they'll easily be available )
This takes barely half hour if you have the proper skill and an unlocked bootloader.
So, let's start.
So there are some steps to be followed over here. You need to complete all of the below steps. Links to the files required will be given below.
1. You need an unlocked bootloader.
2. You need the ADB and Fastboot device drivers installed on your PC
3. The ZIP files required for flashing.
So You will need the Mi Flash tool and MiUnlock tool during the bootloader unlock process. ( The MiFlash tool is available for download. but you can download the MiUnlock tool only if you get the permission to unlock your bootloader from Mi. To apply for a bootloader unlock go here : en.miui.com/unlock )
Once the permission is obtained, download the MiUnlock Tool from the same link, and follow the instructions to unlock bootloader.
The unlocked bootloader is mandatory.
You have to follow all the steps given below once, you have an unlocked bootloader.
Before you perform the below steps, make sure you download the adb and fastboot for your Computer. Download them here : ( *** ) [ONLY FOR DEVICES RUNNING WINDOWS ]
Download the TWRP recovery file for Redmi Note 4 from here : ( *** )
NOTE: You can use either SuperSU or Magisk for rooting your phone. I personally prefer Magisk.
Download the SuperSU ZIP file from here : ( *** )
OR
Download the Magisk ZIP file from here : ( *** )
Once all these files are downloaded,
1> Place the SuperSU file OR Magisk file (whichever you choose) inside your internal storage directory of your mobile device.
2> Place the TWRP recovery file in the folder where the adb drivers (Platform Tools folder) have been downloaded on your computer. Then rename it as "twrp".
3>turn off your device. then switch it on by pressing the volume down button and the power button together.
leave the keys once your device vibrates. This will enable the fastboot mode. (For beginners, It will display a green coloured rabbit on your device with fastboot written ) Connect it to the PC once the fastboot mode is enabled.
4> Come back to your Computer and Open the folder where the adb drivers and the twrp recovery file is copied.
Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and then right click in the empty space of the folder window.
There will be a menu that pops up with some options. You have to click " Open Command Window Here "
This will open up the terminal/cmd on your computer. (NOTE: Steps given for a PC running the Windows OS only. )
5> In the terminal you have to type a few commands. Again make sure your device is properly connected to the computer and with fastboot mode enabled.
Note: Connect only 1 device running fastboot.
To verify connected devices enter command " fastboot devices " This will show available fastboot devices with a string of letters or numbers.
After verification of connected device,
First enter the command " fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
Then hit enter.
(twrp can change according to your twrp recovery file name, if you have renamed it as i said above, no wories, carry on)
6> The terminal will indicate completion of the command. once this is done, type in
"fastboot boot twrp.img"
7> You device will restart and the twrp recovery will pop up on your mobile. Now you can disconnect your device from the computer.
8> In the twrp recovery screen click on install, and select the supersu ZIP file OR magisk ZIP file which you had placed in your internal storage. Then swipe to confirm the flash. It will be indicated when the flash is completed.
Once it's done, click clear cache/dalvik and swipe to confirm.
And hit reboot.
Voila! You now have a rooted Redmi Note 4 with TWRP recovery installed.
[
If you install the magisk ZIP or SuperSU ZIP, under some rare circumstances the app might not have installed on the phone. So you might have to download the apk once the phone has started.
Grab the Magisk Manager APK file here ( *** )
Grab the SuperSU APK file here ( *** )
]
[NOTE :
All the steps are important to be followed exactly. Do not mess up the steps or you might brick your device.
Here unlocking the bootloader is key. Do not ignore my Bootloader unlock thread. Otherwise rooting isn't possible.
This thread is a bit long, sorry for that. But it's written in an easy way so it's better for the new users.
Hope this helps guys. Follow the thread accurately, and it'll work perfectly well on your device.
Cheers.

[How to..] How to Unbrick CLT-L29C432... Here is the situation and solution.....

I bricked my phone after flahing EMUI 9.0 and subsequently First Ever ROM build 10/12/2018 as well. My phone was booting in to stock eRecovery only. Ofcourse I was able to boot in to bootloader / fastboot mode. I booked appointment with Huawei recommended service centre. I wanted to give one last try and finally gave life to my phone. Here is the steps that took through.
Note: These steps works for downgrading to EMUI 8.1 as well
For downgrading, skip all the steps and go to step 10 after flashing custom recovery explained in Step 7
Getting the device ready:
1. Download EMUI 9.0 from here https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=CLT-L29C432&firmware_page=0//
2. Unzip the file UPDATE.APP from Update.zip
3. Using EMUI extraction tool extract following image files (see step 4 below) from UPDATE.APP. Download tool from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603873616
4. Extract, CUST.img, KERNEL.img, RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img and System.img and copy these files in the same folder where you have ADB tools. Download ADB tools from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603873622 Unzip files. You will find a file cmd-here.exe. Run this file to get to open command prompt in your PC to the same folder where you have this ADB tools extracted.
5. Put your phone in to Fastboot mode (Switch off your phone, Press and hold volumn down button and connect USB with PC)
6. Flash the image files in the same order with fastboot commands as below,
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash kernel kernel.img
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img
fastboot flash system system.img
7. Now flash custom recovery. Download custom recovery from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603866808
Fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp-3.2.1-0-charlotte-mod.img
8. Now restart your device with command below,
fastboot reboot
As soon issued this command, pull out of USB cable and keep holding volume up button until HUAWEI logo comes up disappear. It will now boot in to TWRP recovery.
9. Check file names in TWRP (Advanced > File Manager) are readable under folder sdcard. If file names are appearing as a junk, it means that you need to decrypt your data partition. Follow the steps below,
>> Wipe > Format data
>> Hit home button and Reboot > Recovery
>> Download and copy RemoveEncryption-P20Pro.zip file in to sdcard folder (Internal storage). This file can be downloaded from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603866806
>> Flash RemoveEncryption-P20Pro.zip
>> Hit home button and Reboot > Recovery
>> Wipe > Format data
>> Hit home button and Reboot > Recovery
NOW YOU ARE READY TO FLASH OFFICIAL EMUI 8.1 OR 9.0 (as you like). You have no root exploit available for 9.0 at the moment and also Google Pay will see the device as rooted because of unlocked bootloader.
10. Follow the steps below,
## Download the EMUI version that you need from the link https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=CLT-L29C432&firmware_page=0/
## Rename the file update_full_CLT-L29_hw_eu.zip in to update_all_hw.zip
## Create a folder ZIPS-HERE in the same folder where you have ADB tools (as explained in the section above) and put both update.zip and update_all_hw.zip in this ZIP-HERE folder.
## Download update_data_public.zip for EMUI 8.1 from this LINK and copy to the same ZIPS-HERE folder. You do not require update_data_public.zip for EMUI 9.0
## Download this nocheck.img file and copy it in to the same folder ZIPS-HERE. link here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603873636
## Issue following commands (you can copy and paste in the command window)
adb shell twrp decrypt
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update.zip
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update_all_hw.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update_all_hw.zip
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update_data_public.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update_data_public.zip (this command line is not required for EMUI 8.1)
adb push ZIPS-HERE/nocheck.img /data/update/nocheck.img
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update.zip > /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_all_hw.zip >> /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_data_public.zip >> /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell dd if=/data/update/nocheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery_ramdisk
adb reboot recovery
WAIT AND WATCH THE FLASHING HAPPENING VIA HUAWEI eRecovery. Once done, restart your phone. Your phone is back to life.
So far I have soft bricked several times in the past few days and brought back to life. As long as Bootloader (fastboot) partition is not disturbed, we are good to recover our device.
..
Thank you very useful when needed

Question (Solved) Bootloop, but fastboot doesn't open!!

I am running MIUI 14.0.2.0
I installed a gsi, but before booting to it I flashed vbmeta, vbmeta_system and vbmeta_vendor with "fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmetax".
NOW MY PHONE IS DEAD.
It is constantly restarting, but I cant get into fastboot or recovery with the volume buttons.
Any ideas? I am very very thankful for every help!

This may or may not work for your & may cause more damage, so use at your own risk.
***If someone notices a mistake please reply immediately
I faced a similar situation & I followed instructions from this YouTube video.
The language is different, but I will translate & write the steps I followed.
Also, I flashed Vbmeta alongside boot.img
Requirements
> A computer
the links were in videos description.
> Download and install USBDK
> Install mediatek drivers
> Download and install python
> Download MTKClient
> Unlocked bootloader ( I think)
> Fastboot ROM of your device
1.
Extract usbdk and right click the file (if 64bit pc then that if 32bit then x86) and click install
2.
After that extract mediatek driver and install the mediatek preloader driver
3.
After these two installed reboot your pc it is must
4.
after that install python, you are not going to install it normally you need to install it to specific folder
open python installer and click customize installation , check all optional features, click next and check all options,
after that in customize install location create a folder in C drive with name Python 310, select it and install in it
5.
after doing these steps extract mtk client, open its folder & copy boot.img and vbmeta.img from your fastboot rom and paste in mtk client folder
6.
open cmd in mtkclient folder
7.
keep the phone disconnected and run the following command
8.
---------------------------------
python setup.py install
-----------------------------
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
---------------------------------
9.
"I used ab"
----------------------------------------------------------------
for simple
python mtk w boot,vbmeta boot.img,vbmeta.img
---------------------------------------------
for ab
python mtk w boot_a,vbmeta_a boot.img,vbmeta.img
----------------------------------------------------------------
10.
after entering above command you will waiting for device in CMD
boot your phone in brom mode
as you are in bootloop wait till device screen becomes black (in bootloop after mi logo) and immediately do following step before loop occurs again
""to do so hold all phone buttons (volume up,down & power button) keep holding and connect device to pc""
***you will know you're in brom mode when device stays in black screen
the processing will start wait for it to finish,
11.
now boot into fastboot (you might boot into fastbootd reboot and try to boot into fastboot a few times and you will enter fastboot)
flash original rom

This is my only phone, and i cant just afford a new one. I am insanely scared right now.

Btw this issue alway occurs with me when i use disable verity, first it gets stuck into bootloop with access to fastboot but when i enter command fastboot reboot fastboot, to boot into fastbootd, the phone gets stuck in bootloop and I am not able to access recovery or fastboot.
Hope that above method works for you.

Thank you so much for replying. I was ready to just live without this phone.
I am currently stuck at the first step though, because I wanted to reinstall the UsbDk drivers, but now the installer always exits with an error message.
I'll keep trying but I really hope this isn't where it fails...
Could you maybe share the files the installer extracts to "C:\Program Files\usbdk runtime library"?
I think that might allow me to install it without the msi file.

What error you get.
Its normal for installer to exit automatically after install.
Check control panel if its installed
I followed guide i shared above.

You are my hero! I was convinced the only way to recover would be the mtk bypass, which isn't available for my device.
I kind of knew this might be an option, but because the driver was faulty it didn't work and I thought it was my phone.
My Phone is back and I couldn't be more relieved.
I am turning 18 in a few days and having to buy a new phone would have been terrible for me.
It's always a hit-or-miss wether you actually get helpful replies in forums, so thank you for taking the time to help!
