Need help with USB connection (no data transfer) - Huawei Mate XS Questions & Answers

I made a downgrade from EMUI10 to EMUi10 through Hisuite proxy (I wanted to try to return Google)
Taken from here:
Firmware For Huawei Mate Xs
Прошивка для Huawei Mate Xs C10 hw/ru & C00 all/cn: Huawei Mate Xs TAH-N29m hw ru Tahiti-N29DX 10.1.0.151(C10E4R3P1) Firmware EMUI10.1.0 05016PUF [androidhost.ru].zip https://androidhost.ru/1O17 Dated Uploaded: 21/10/2020 Filesize: 4.23 GB...
forum.xda-developers.com
Everything was sewn and working, but Google didn’t install exactly and an error appeared, when you connect the phone via USB to the computer, only charge (((
(I changed everything through the developer menu, it doesn’t help, it doesn’t update through the air, now the computer doesn’t see it through the cable and, accordingly, Hisiute)
I tried different cables and 3 different computers, other phones work on all of them, including another Huawei
I ask for help with advice who came across, at least without Google, would it be possible to return it to EMUI12? and all options are only through the computer

HOW TO USE AN ENGLISH ROM to switch the SGH-i718 from Chinese into English

Hi there,
In another post I asked for a method of converting my strictly Chinese SGH-i718 into English. Now, I know that an English version exists, as you can buy an identical phone in English (i think that is the SGH-i710).
Someone posted a link to a file to purports to be an English ROM for the phone, and I have now downloaded it.
Links are http://rapidshare.com/files/45439904/Juggler_WM6_i718ZMGF4_PDA_Eng.rar.html
and
http://rapidshare.com/files/45950071/Juggler_WM6_i718ZMGF4_Phone_Eng.rar.html
How on earth do I use the ROM without totally bricking my phone?
The file is named;
Juggler_WM6_i718ZMGF4_PDA_Eng.rar
When I extract it, I have an EXE file named;
i718ZMGF4_PDA_Eng
which is described as "UnifiedMultiDownloader MFC 응용 프로그램"
When I open it, it has a screen that says "no phone detected" or something like that, and then it closes and the Microsoft Windows Data Execution Protection pops up and says it closed it to protect my computer.
1) Would you trust this file?
2) If yes, how does it work?
Thanks guys 'n' gals
May I ask where you get these files from?

As listed in the links in my post. They are not mine. The links were provided through another thread on a similar issue.
IT WORKS!
FYI: I used the PDA rom, the first one, and it works! It works incredibly well in fact. After use, when I switched the phone on, it started up in English and prompted me to set the phone up as if it was the first time it had ever been turned on. I will post the full instructions tomorrow (4:30am here and I can't be bothered right now)
It's Done!! Here's How
Well, here's the deal. The forums only work if people help each other. If I were to find out how to do it and not tell you, it would defeat the purpose of having forums and being able to help each other in the first place.
So anyway, I ended up finding a forum with a bunch of awesome Chinese people who helped me to flash it. I already had the file from another forum, and the fact that this guy posted the exact same files, then gave me a step-by-step, made me confident that this flash would actually work.
I have now successfully used the process below to flash the PDA part of my i718. I HAVE NOT FLASHED THE PHONE (RADIO) PART YET BECAUSE MY ORIGINAL PHONE ROM IS STILL WORKING AFTER THE FLASH OF THE PDA ROM.
Here is the process below with no spelling mistakes corrected...
Samsung i718 PPC Phone flash ROM procedure + WM6 English ROM
(A) CABLES
Two Cables are needed for i718 to flash rom.
Cable 1 = USB Cable accompany with your PPC Phone for ActiveSync for the flash of ROM.
Cable 2 = Special USB Phone Flash Cable for the flash of Phone Function ... it seems to be the Radio ROM. It is competible with Samsung normal phone model D828.
USB Phone Flash Cable Info from Taobao site:
Phone Flash Cable 1

Phone Flash Cable 2:

(B) FLASH ROM (PDA FUNCTION)
1. Charge PPC Phone to full power.
2. PC with ActiveSync V4.5 installed.
3. Inside the ActiveSync connection settings, <UNCHECK> Allow USB connections and <CHECK> Allow connections to one of the following: COM? (The port number is your USB will be connected). (trial and error until you get a successful Activesync connection)
4. POWER OFF your PPC Phone and connect it with the USB cable to the PC. (Use cable 1)
5. Run the downloaded WM6 ROM <i718ZMGF4_PDA_Eng.exe>; and choose Detect in POP-UP screen when the program started.
6. Check your PPC Phone is firm connected with PC and POWER ON your phone now.
7. The original ROM program will auto flash the new ROM into the PPC Phone.
8. Just pay attention to the screen of the PPC Phone and follow and instructions pop-up to finish the whole upgrade.
9. After completion, you can check your ROM version inside the PPC Phone, and it will be the new <Version i718ZMGF4>.
(C) FLASH RADIO ROM (PHONE FUNCTION)
1. Install the phone flash driver which is inside the CD that is accompanied with the Cable 2 .
2. POWER OFF your PPC Phone and connect it with the USB cable to the PC. (Use cable 2)
3. Run the bootloader flash program <Qingdao_downloader_v04.exe> inside the folder of <i718ZMGF4_PhoneRom>.
4. In the program screen of <Files to Download>:
1st Boot Loader: Click BIN... choose boot.bin file.
2nd Main Binary: Click BIN... choose i718ZMGF4.cla file.
3rd BP Engine: Click BIN... choose bpexec.bin file.
5. Check your PC's COM number connect with this cable and set the COM Port speed according this cable.
6. Then inside this program choose the Serial Port: COM? (same as your PC's COM Port number).
7. Click the <START> button and it will start to check your Phone ID (if it cannot find the ID, your can disconnect the cable and insert it again to try OR power on the phone to help this Phone ID checking).
8. When Phone ID checking is sucessed, Click the <ALL DOWNLOAD> button to start to flash.
9. After flash is completed, reset the PPC Phone by input *2767*3855# to process.
CAUTION in RADIO ROM FLASHING:
When flashing the Radio ROM/Phone Function or after flash, it will show <Phone Error, Run Later> or similar words. It is normal because the PPC Phone is under phone function flashing procedure and cannot be used. After all upgrade is finished, you just power off the PPC Phone and turn it on again to make it back to normal to fully finish the upgrade procedure.
.....................
So there is it everyone. I hope this helps you to flash your Chinese version Samsung SGH-i718 and enjoy it as much as I am currently.

I'm pretty sure that the i710 and i718 are identical. I think the i710 was designed for sale in western countries, whereas the i718 is specifically branded for Chinese markets.
I think the firmware would be similar, just in other languages.
Give this conversion method a try!
the rom is ok for i710
pda part use usb cable
phone part use serial cable (i used also one prolific based cable)

Don't panic! To get gprs working you must flash both pda and phone parts of firmware. Read first post to learn how to do this. To get back wm5 you need to serach something like I710XEGF2 (xe means russian variant, which is yours i don't know) in google. If you still need WM6, but have no possibility to flash phone part (have no cable etc..) you need to find an official samsung update for I710 (not I718) - something like I710UXEGG1 (U means WM6, XE means russian again).
brother i need my perivious wm5 rom. i cannt live without gprs on my phone.pls give me any link for my i710 original firmware.
i also want to tell u that i had made a backup by using sprite backup, can it restore my perivious wm5 firmware.plsss guide me
Pls attach d picture of flas cable for radio rom,is it available in india.
Or how can i make my new cable

Hello everyone, I found this thread from google search, I have a China version of SGH-i718+ , This phone was given by my dad, I can barely read any chinese, so I wish could convert this to english version, I believe it runs WM6 Chinese.
Does this rom works for this phone? or is there a newer rom?
and where can I purchase the cables , thanks for the help guys.
this works, just a little change to the instructions to get the PDA part flashing..
- disable active sync usb connection
- disable com port connection
run the flashing program,
select detect & start downloading immediately
plug in your phone and hold the power button until the blue bar starts moving..

tcl android tv firmware

where i can download tcl android tv firmware to flash it with usb
I want to know too, I think there's already TV's with version 9.0 but mine still on 8 I would love to update
I found this about a year ago. I don't have the source, but I remember getting it from a forum where a TCL developer shared the folder. Instructions are inside the folder, you have to translate that. It's still Oreo and I haven't tried by myself, so please be careful and flash it at your own risk. The last update was on July, so I don't know if they are still updating the repository. If you find pie upgrades, share here as well, please.
Instructions are inside the folder, you have to translate that.
Google says the instructions translate to:
"We change the file name to Update.pkg.
We format the pendrive to fat32.
We are installing Update.pkg.
We disconnect the tv from the power supply.
We connect a pendrive.
We hold the power button on the tv (not on the remote control).
We connect the voltage all the time by holding power on tv.
We hold until the update information appears."
I have a TCL 65" TV, purchased about 5 years ago and it was going ok until it wouldn't open YouTube so I did a reset on it with the hope that its memory would be rekindled. Alas, it didnt and now the once operating TV has nothing on it whatsoever ! What changed was it went from a TCL with Australian software on it to a Thompson with (EU) software on it. I can't scan channels of course (different country parameters), I can connect WiFi but not sure if it is working and it is now very slow to respond to remote, basically there is nothing there but I can still get into settings ect. It has a project Name of 65UB6406, Software V8-NT67FO2LF1V614, Chassis NT667EU and a Serial Num 1605DAJ60000600536. Is there any hope for this TV to be resurrected? I haven't been able to find any firmware for the Asia Pacific area for this TV. Cheers

Sadly you didn't read the warnings that you cannot upgrade to 10 with dload method and you have bricked your device. And there is 99% chance that you wont get it back. At least for now.
You'll need to wait for global android 10 release for view 20 and hope that somehow or someone will figure out working solution to upgrade with dload method. If not, sadly your phone is gone. (some user already took the device to huawei service centre and only sollution was changing the motherboard, it is not covered by warranty, so it is expensive.)

cheers SOLVED for those who were in my situation you should know that I installed the PCT-L29 10.0.0.171 (C432E10R3P4) version following the dload Force Upgrade method but you have to turn on the device only with the volume up and power on keys and it is reset screen from OTG Stick or Adapter C to A with USB Stick. :victory:

Hello,

I have a Huawei Mate 20 Lite, SNE-LX1 C432
I upgraded to EMUI 10 using the sd card update method a while ago, and ever since when I boot the phone "your device has loaded a different operating system" shows up.
I searched every thread I could, even this one, and tried a lot of things, but I just can't fix it...
Every time I download a firmware for the SNE-LX1 C432 and unzip it, I always get the SNE-LO1 cust file and preload file, but I can't find the SNE-LX1 cust file and preload file anywhere.
Does anyone know how to get the right cust file and preload file?
Any help is appreciated...

[GUIDE] Unbrick Locked Huawei P20 Using HISuite Proxy

UNBRICK BOOTLOADER LOCKED/UNLOCKED HUAWEI P20Requirements
HISuite Proxy
HISuite
Huawei Firmware Finder (Team MT)
Bricked Device (Locked or Unlocked doesn't matter)
Before You Start
This Guide is for Soft Bricked devices. (Phone should have a working Fastboot)
Bootloader Locked or Unlocked doesnt matter.
Check your Model No. written on back of your phone. Its either EML-L09 or EML-L29. You must Find and Flash Right links for your Model Number from FirmwareFinder, Country Code i.e. C55, C109, C782 etc. don't matter so Flash whichever one you like.
If your device bricked beacuse it failed on EMUI 10 update, make sure to Flash EMUI 10 CUST, PRELOAD & BASE Package otherwise it will fail.
Do this at your own Risk.
How to
Install latest version of HISuite and don't run it.
Open HISuite-Proxy as administrator and click on httpcomponent.dll, it will automatically search for httpcomponent.dll located usually in C:/Program Files(x86)/HiSuite and let the tool patch it.
Find your BASE, CUST, and PRELOAD packages on FirmwareFinder, they are needed to perform a system recovery and then insert their links into their respective textboxes in HiSuite-Proxy.
I filled these for EML-L09, just an example for you
Code:
[url]http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G5422/g1755/v407185/f1/full/changelog_base.xml[/url] EML-LGRP2-OVS 10.0.0.167
[url]http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G5422/g1755/v401513/f1/full/changelog_cust_ti_it.xml[/url] EML-L09-CUST 10.0.0.8(C55)
[url]http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G5422/g1755/v401526/f1/full/changelog_preload_ti_it_R1.xml[/url] EML-L09-PRELOAD 10.0.0.3(C55R1)
Select "Recovery OS" in HISuite Proxy.
Tick CUST PKG & Preloaded PKG Boxes in HISuite Proxy.
Make sure you don't close HISuite-Proxy throughout the entire process.
Open
Code:
C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local/HiSuite/UpdateDogDev/HiSuiteConfig.xml
and add an entry for your phone model if there isnt like this
Add your phone model below <REGION name="Default"> and <REGION name="China">
Code:
<rule type="EML-L09" cnName="HUAWEI P20" enName="EML-L09" option="" ></rule>
<rule type="EML-L09" cnName="荣耀 P20全网通" enName="HUAWEI P20" option="" ></rule>
Launch HISuite & Set HISuite to use a proxy in Settings and use IP: 127.0.0.1 and Port: 7777 as HISuite-Proxy says.
Get phone into Fastboot mode ( Power it off, then press power key + volume down for several seconds ) Connect it to PC by USB.
Click System Recovery in HISuite and it will hopefully start recovering your Phone.
Thanks to
@nomone for the Guide.
@IProfessor for the HISuite Proxy.
Team MT for FirmwareFinder.
Well done buddy, thanks for making this guide, keep it up!
Hi Suit gives me an info that my phone does not support system recovery is there anything that i can do?
Hi there @uzairabdulmajeed
I've followed all your steps but unfortunately, it doesn't work. After setting up HiSuite-Proxy, enabling my phone model on HiSuiteConfig.XML and pointing HiSuite to proxy 127.0.0.1, port: 7777, once I click System Recovery, and finally Recover, it has thrown an error: "No Internet connection. Please check your network settings". With removing the proxy and port on HiSuite I just got: "No recovery packages for your phone model".
Any idea? I really messed up with my phone and I need to recover it somehow

It’s related to v11 of HiSuite Just use version 10.x from Here
Full list of HiSuite versions: Full list
Many thanks to
@uzairabdulmajeed @nomone and @IProfessor for all the hard work. The above steps do work with the sidenote that the latest HiSuite version 11.x will fail with that "No Internet connection". so maybe a small notice/update to the OP will help others.
My P20 bricked after EMUI10 OTA Update...
I have tried the method here, with RecoveryOS option Hisuite didn't find any Recovery package, if I choose NormalOS, it runs and downloads all three zips, but failed in the step flash Recovery.
Can anyone help me? Thx.
Hi sorry for bringing this post back but is there other way I could unbrick my Huawei P20? I tried this method but failed, it says after clicking recover, "This device device is not supported for system recovery" something like that and the logs in HiSuite have messages like "FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))\r\nfinished. total time: 5.003s\r\n[tid=18000]]]]" . Maybe there's another way for? This is a locked bootloader Huawei P20 (EML-L29-C636). Hope you can help me or someone could. Thank you.
is it possible to change my p30 pro single sim (VOG-L09) to p30 pro dual sim (VOG-L29) through hisuite proxy?

Bootloader UNLOCKED - need ROM

Hello,
So the good news is - apparently we can unlock Kirin 970 now. I did the hardware testpoint mode with the HCU Client and it worked just fine! I was replacing the battery anyway so I already had access to the motherboard. The question now is - what happened to LineageOS ROMs? Looks like they just deleted all of them.
Is there anybody out there with one of them on their HDD willing to share? Google cached website is showing two of them:
lineage-16.0-20210211-nightly-charlotte-signed.zip 2/11/21
lineage-16.0-20210204-nightly-charlotte-signed.zip 2/4/21
I'm gonna try to build a custom LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) soon as well.
Thanks.

Ok so here was the process:
1) Backed up all my data from the device (CLT-L29)
2) Factory reset the device
3) I used Huawei Hisuite software to rollback as far (BACK) as I could. It actually let me downgrade to EMUI 8.
4) Installed HCU and DC Phoenix (timed 72 hour license for both was like 20 euro)
5) Installed NECESSARY drivers on my Windows 10 machine (HUAWEI USB COM 1.0) for the testpoint
6) I opened the phone (I wanted to replace the battery anyway). Unscrew a couple of screws and take a shield to get to the pad.
7) With the phone completely off, short the testpad to ground (I used tweezers) and plug in the USB cable while still shorting out that pad. (USB cable that is connected to your Windows machine that is). Your phone screen will stay completely OFF, but you should hear an USB "ding" sound in you windows machine. Go to the device manager and check for HUAWEI USB COM 1.0 (Your Port). If you don't see it it won't work.
8) Fire up HCU Client, check account, select "Fastboot/XLoader (Hisilicon only)" on phone connection mode.
9) Go to the "Fastboot/Xloader" tab and select CPU (for me Kirin970_T2_A8.1_V5) worked fine.
10) Click Read phone info button, you'll see a progress bar on the bottom, it should take like 2 minutes
11) If everything went fine you'll see a log on the right with your unlock code in it
12) You can unlock it from that software, select "Bootloader lock: unlock", and "Write bootloader code" I also selected "Erase Huawei ID" and click "Repair" button. It will be quick. And that's it!
Now, flashing a custom ROM was a pain. Apparently most of them REQUIRE EMUI 9.0.0.159 (159 is the KEY!). You must get the original firmware and flash it with DC Phoenix. After that the process went something like this...
1) Put the phone in fastboot/rescue mode (hold the volume down button wile inserting USB cable with the phone off)
2) Flash TWRP for charlotte with fastboot from your PC
3) Restart phone into RECOVERY (TWRP) mode
4) Sideload your rom.ZIP file (Lineage for example)
5) Sideload google apps
6) Sideload factory camera app (honestly its the best for that phone)
7) Restart the bootloader (you will be in the fastboot mode again)
8) Upload the ORIGINAL recovery image (it wont boot if you dont do it) you can revert to TWRP after the first boot
9) Go into Huawei recovery mode (power+volume up)
10) Wipe/factory reset
11) Restart and you are done! (now you can flash TWRP again if you want)
It took me an entire day of work to figure it out. All the info (steps) is available online including the location of the test pad and disassembly of the phone. Here's an awesome guide to flashing Lineage (https://depl0y.com/posts/P20-Pro-LineageOS-Guide/). One thing I've noticed if you try to use HiSuite AFTER you unlocked your bootloader it WILL lock it again. I had to do it twice while I was trying to get EMUI 9.0.0.159. The best way was to use DC Phoenix and ROM from androidhost.ru.
Anyway after all that I now have an unlocked P20 Pro with stock android. It's bloatware free and runs great. So far no major issues with the ROM.

Things are not that simple. The HiSuite on Mac have been updated.
I can't find the button that can roll back or check for update after this.
Maybe I should try HiSuite on Windows.
I suddenly remembered that I cannot use HiSuite Windows version to roll back to EMUI 8 , but I can roll back to EMUI 9. Maybe I can roll back to EMUI 8 from EMUI 9. Needing roll back twice ?

You *should be able to unlock it with EMUI 9. I rolled it back to 8, just to find out later on I need 9.0.0.159 anyway. So I used HiSuite to update it to 9 - but it wasn't the version I wanted and also doing this in HiSuite removed my bootloader code, so I ended up using HCU Client on EMUI 9 and it worked just fine. After that I used DC Phoenix to flash the 9.0.0.159 (bootloader stayed unlocked). It was a pain, but yeah you SHOULD be able to unlock it with EMUI9.

Here's a log from unlocking 9.0.0.168...
Just to let you know that official ROM (lineage-16.0-20210211-nightly-charlotte-signed.zip) is not working on my P20 Pro. It crashes on the first boot. I'm back with (lineage-16.0-20190217_125340-UNOFFICIAL-charlotte.zip) I believe it was made made by LuK1337. Works great. I use it with open gapps pico version.
guys, this is p20 non-pro forum.
why are you discussing this here?
