It doesn't work for me either.
Is someone able to register fingerprint and unlock with it? On my a52s I get a timeout error when trying to set up my fingerprint and the whole screen gets really bright when registering fingerprint

I think almost everyone has that problem, and I think it's because of the fixed FOD.

Is there a way to disable the haptic feedback when you succesfully unlock the phone via fingerprint? Considering how often I unlock the phone, I think this would save a bit of battery.

Btw, is the fingerprint strong enough? I unblock my nexus 5x 50+ times everyday, wont it die....

With the latest Cataclysm update, the fingerprint scanner vibration is disabled for successful authentication. Now, it only vibrates on an unsuccesful unlock.
i still look for a method to stop vibrating if i unlock my nexus 5x by fingerprint.
my device is rooted with cm14.1
any ideas for the annoying vibration ?

Update: the problem was solved after I've disabled the lock screen widget.
Hi everyone! I’ve recently flashed the CM13 for mi5s which runs very well. However, I can’t always use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone. At the bottom of the lock screen it always (95%) shows the “key lock icon” so I can only unlock with PIN. But ironically, the “fingerprint icon” sometimes (5%) appears in the lock screen, allowing me to unlock with the fingerprint scanner. Does anyone have the same experience? How can it be fixed?

At first I set it up during initial phone set up too (with two fingerprints), but then the problem arose, so I deleted the fingerprints and set it up again, but the problem is still there. Do u have the same problem? and how many fingerprints did you input?

No problem here, just using 1 fingerprint
Had the phone since yesterday and noticed right away that FP reader is noticably slower than on OP3 (stock).
after some testing I found that when you deactivate FaceUnlock, FP reader is faster, same as OP3. I cannot make sense of that, FaceUnlock isnt "searching" when phone is locked.
anyone else noticed this?

My 5T should be delivered in a couple of hours.

Don't have OP3 to compare, but I turned on face unlock, smart unlock(google:location), and FP works fine with my 2fingers
I have just tried fingerprint unlock on my 5T with both face unlock on and then off - the unlock time seems exactly the same to me.

Same here. No perceivable difference.
The error message displayed is "fingerprint hardware not available"
Do I need to replace fingerprint sensor or is it a software issue

You may need to do a factory reset so I'd back everything up before trying that though

I had the same problem. I buyed a new sensor for 20€ and replaced it. Very easy and simple and works fine now?

Did you factory reset through the back up and reset settings as that's what worked for me

Same happened with me, i was in train on my phone and unlocked it with my fingerprint successfully then i came home nothing happened i didn't drop my phone it was in my pocket the whole time, at home when i went to unlock the phone it displayed " Fingerprint Hardware not available", actually this issue happened to me 1 year ago it resolved automatically but now again it's happening my best solution is leave it alone (your phone) and hope future security updates to resolve it.
Hello. I have this phone Mi 11 Lite 4g version. After i did software update to MIUI 13.0.7 Global Stable, fingerprint option gone in settings, and sometimes i have to click power button twice to turn off the screen. Any here have similar issues?
I have the same problem. After a while it showed up randomly in settings. So it rarely works. I hope it will be fixed with the next update. MIUI 13.0.7
This is a hardware problem. You should repair it in a workshop.
I had the same exact problem, turns out to be a hardware problem. As it was under warranty, I send it back and it was repaired. Good luck!

This is weird. I once woke up on a non-working fingerprint sensor. Although the option was still available in phone settings (I had 2 registered fingerprints), I couldn't register any new fingerprint.
That was like a nightmare to me, later on, I discovered it was caused by the missing property line:

Adding that line and rebooting fixed my situation.

/vendor/build.prop is where I found it. I am on A12.1 GSI, 12.1 DotOS vendor, latest Vantom Kernel.
