Question Regarding The Type-C USB 2.0 Port - OnePlus 11

Hi guys, could you please check somethings for me?
1. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer a file with size 2GB from your PC/ MAC to the OnePlus 11?
2. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer a file with size 2GB from the phone to your PC/ MAC?
3. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer files(audio + video + pics taken using the camera) combined amounting to 2GB from the deice to your PC/ MAC and vice versa?
I am forced to ask this because I always bought the Pro edition of the phones and those always had the best hardware combinations, my current 9 Pro has USB Type-C 3.1, combined with the UFS3.1 I am getting fantastic read write speeds be it one file or numerous files. I am almost sure that the type-C USB2.0 port will be the bottleneck in using the very fast UFS4.0 that the 11 has, it is a shame that the company cheaped out on it, I transfer a lot of data between my phone and PC and this will be the biggest deal breaker for me, hope you guys/ gals assist.

I was able to move a 1GB file to my phone from the PC in roughly 15 seconds
I was able to move that same file back to my phone in roughly 15 seconds
This is the same speed I get with my 9Pro and 8T on the same file.

Thank you very much.

I was only able to get 20MB/s with my oneplus 11 and my 9 pro I see 150-200MB/s It was a huge difference for me.

Where are you seeing this speed, I was talking about connecting the device to a laptop/ PC and then moving files between them, while using my OnePlus 9 Pro in Windows 11, we get a copy action popup that shows only the time needed not the speeds, as @JWhetstone02 said before I am also getting the same speeds on my OnePlus 11 that I got on my 9 Pro, I had moved around 150GB of data in less than an hour, while had more than 2000 folders and 40000 files, the speed for moving data within the phone is stunning, I have seen speeds move above 500MB per second when I used Solid Explorer to move some things around.

You have to use a 3rd party usb cable not the one that comes with the device as they are only usb 2.0. They only have one of the usb 3.0 pins in the cable. You can see the speed by opening up task manager , selecting performance, then selecting your hard drive. If you do this when there is no other activity on the drive you can get a good baseline when you start the coping to and from the phone. The one plus 11 is deffintily at lot slower then my one plus 9 pro. I just got the oneplus 10 pro to replace the 11 and I am so much happier with the speeds.

Actually I am using the USB cable that I got with my 9 Pro, since that phone has a type-C USB3.1 port maybe the cable that came with it is also of the same type, I will check it out with the cable that came with 11, will also checkout the task manager to gauge the speed, good to hear that your issue was solved.

If you got 150gb to move in 30mins that would be on par with the oneplus 9 pro. I was never able to achieve that. My sample size is only 1 phone so that is much so there could be another issue like drivers that play a role.

[Q] Should I buy This device?

Hi, I'm mainly from the Samsung Galaxy S 4G forum and I am considering buying this device, before I do I would like to ask a few questions:
1. Just 2x checking, this runs an android ICS port, right? if so is it fully functioning?
2. What is your default clocked processor speed?
3. How much RAM & System memory does this have?
4. Are there any major drawbacks to this device?
5. Would the 7 in. screen be an issue for typing notes during my college classes?
6. Is it possible to mount devices (ex. phone, camera, etc..) through your micro USB port with a type B male to A female USB cable?
7. Does anyone have any major regrets about buying this device?
8. How fragile is this device, compared to most phones? (I just want to make sure it wont shatter after a 3 foot drop since i have a baby brother)
9. How is development? How many active devs do you have? (i just want to make sure I'm not buying a device that has a dead dev section)
10. Does this have expandable memory? (ex. micro sd)
Thank you so much and sorry for the newb like questions, I will remove them as I research tonight if I find some answers to these questions.
Thanks Again!
1.yes

most roms overclost @1200
3. How much RAM & System memory does this have?
512
4. Are there any major drawbacks to this device?
Memory
5. Would the 7 in. screen be an issue for typing notes during my college classes?
I am way oldschool when it comes to this.... I use Grafitti for android
6. Is it possible to mount devices (ex. phone, camera, etc..) through your micro USB port with a type B male to A female USB cable?
yes
7. Does anyone have any major regrets about buying this device?
baught as a stepping stone to get soemthing bigger.... good starter device
8. How fragile is this device, compared to most phones? (I just want to make sure it wont shatter after a 3 foot drop since i have a baby brother)
there are loads of shock cases on the market to assist in protection.
9. How is development? How many active devs do you have? (i just want to make sure I'm not buying a device that has a dead dev section)
plenty of developers, new or improved ROMS are released all the time
10. Does this have expandable memory? (ex. micro sd)
not yet
Hope it helps.... emjoy
others have answered the specific questions so here's my take on the general ones:
4. Are there any major drawbacks to this device?
No 3G is a pain in the ass. I feel like I'm limited where I can use this thing fully. If I want to play a little WWF during lunch, I gotta stick to places that have wifi. I can't just whip it out and get directions while out walking, or look something up on the spur of the moment. If you have a phone that can act as a wireless hotspot, this is no biggie.
Also, nothing major but I've found some basic customization and tasks have been a bit harder than expected. It took forever to get a proper screenshot program working... should be built into the OS. I'm still trying to find a randomized wallpaper changer. Little things like that... it seemed like people were on top of this stuff when I looked into customizing my phone.
5. Would the 7 in. screen be an issue for typing notes during my college classes?
I find the screen more than enough to do anything. Feels big and clear. Also, swyping with this thing in portrait mode is perfect, you don't have to be as precise as you would with a phone, but it's not so far between the letters that it slows you down. If you already use swype you'll be golden for note-taking.
7. Does anyone have any major regrets about buying this device?
No, I'm quite pleased with it, and the price is amazing for what you're getting. The lack of 3G still gets on my nerves and I would gladly have paid an extra 50+ bucks to add that functionality.
8. How fragile is this device, compared to most phones? (I just want to make sure it wont shatter after a 3 foot drop since i have a baby brother)
I got a screen protector and a cheapo (like 6-10 buck) carry case. I've dropped it twice from waist level or so and the case kept it fine. I'd say if you get the case you'll be ok, but an unlucky landing facedown onto blacktop might crack the screen or something.
9. How is development? How many active devs do you have? (i just want to make sure I'm not buying a device that has a dead dev section)
I feel like it's pretty good but I don't have much to compare it to. One thing I really liked is the devs made it SOOOO easy to root and install a new rom/os/bootloader/etc. I got the appropriate usb drivers, used the KFU, and in no time I was able to back up my stock image, get a good bootloader going, get a new launcher, get root, and even get some sort of hack that gives you access to both the amazon marketplace and google play store. Most apps I've installed work fine, a handful that were made for the phone do not, but they make it very easy to DL, install, update and uninstall apps.
4. there are some drawbacks:
-no bluetooth
-no volume buttons
-only about 6 GB of useable storage space
-no upgradeable storage (except through mounting something on USB)

[Q] 10.1 (2014) nikon camera uploading

I've looked pretty carefully, I think this is a new question/topic. Sorry if I'm wrong. Pre purchase question for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Ed). I want to travel with it and one of my Nikon digital cameras (either D200 or D800) depending on which one will work per your answers. Travelling in Europe by bike so not possible to take a computer as an intermediary for downloading pictures. Does anyone know how I can download pictures from one of these Nikons to the 10.1 (2014) android platform directly without going through a computer. There must be a way but the photog (for professionals no less), nor the Samsung live call or chat seem to have an answer. Fingers crossed maybe it's just a cable or app I need? Thanks

From googling I see that the camera has mass storage as a usb option. You can get a USB OTG cable and connect to the Note 10.1 2014, then connect the camera to that like you would connect the camera to a computer and it will show up on the Note as a jump drive. With es file explorer you should be able to access your photos.
Here is an old tutorial, but you probably wouldn't need the thumbnailer app, es file explorer should allow you to browse the contents of the camera just fine.

10.1 (2014) nikon camera uploading
:fingers-crossed: Your tutorial is very straight forward and clear, as well as your answer. I just found a store that has a 14 day return policy so I have a little time to experiment. This stuff never seems to have one definitive exact answer and I'm so not a techie ...amazing what I'm learning! and I did hit the 'thanks' button
Look at DLSR Dashboard and TPLINK, I forgot which model
This is a wireless solution.
You can control the D800 from your 10.1 as well as have the files go directly to the 10.1
I am saving up for a D800e at present.

Wife has a Nikon she uses the micro SD to SD adapter to transfers over pictures. Some micro SD come with the adapter already
Solution for downoading Nikon D200/800 images to super portable device
Thanks to all of you for your input. I thought I'd report back in case there are any other not-so-techie artists out there looking for a simple solution. While I am not a pro photographer, the camera is one very important tool in my art making practice. I have two high end Nikon DSLR cameras and wanted the ability to download images when the memory cards get full. I did probably 60-80 hours research. What I really wanted at the beginning was a tablet. In the end I purchased a Surface Pro 2 which runs on a windows platform. It's pretty pricey and I'm sure the regular Surface tablet would also work for temporarily storing photos when the memory card is full. I also write, so the ability of loading full programs onto the Pro2 (Word and PP for artists' talk presentations) and becoming super portable at low weight and size was too much to resist. I tested the Surface Pro 2 last evening and it is amazing as a tablet/laptop hybrid kind of thing (although learning curve is still ahead). BUT it does work brilliantly with both cameras. The added bonus...I can load Photoshop onto it too. For the cameras: no intermediary tools required (OTG cables or conversion cards) as would be the case with an Apple product or an Android platform....straight in. Hope this helps other creative types. I cannot be the only one who needs these abilities from a tablet.
FWIW, I'm still stuck with a D300, which uses CF rather than SD cards. I simply hooked a plain old USB card reader up to my 10.1 with an OTG cable et voila! Copy photos off the card, onto the tab and backup onto Dropbox. Piece of cake.
Now, if only I had the D800.

This works. Hook it up to your Nixon, turn wifi on your phone or tablet, and download the nikon app from the market. I use it all the time with my Note 3.

Questions About The HTC 10 For T-Mobile Prior To Purchasing It.

Hi guys, I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which I am strongly considering switching to a HTC 10 due to the fact that there is no root for my current device nor does it look like there will be for the foreseeable future. I know no device is perfect so I have some questions about this device prior to making the switch. If you guys can answer them I'd greatly appreciate it.
1. Is there any way to get rid of the red/pink tint on the screen? I've heard at certain angles it has a pink tint but I've also seen some users say it was due to the glue.
2. Is there anyway to make a private photo/video gallery on an SD Card with Root and S-Off? I can't do it on my S7 edge it only lets me do it on the internal storage problem is there is only 23 gigs available out the box.
3. Is there any way to get the device posdibly through Root and Rom Flashing to do 60 FPS video?
4. With Root is it possible to force apps on to the SD card partition with Adoptable storage? I had adoptable storage on my S7 edge but I wasn't able to force apps on my SD card eating up my internal storage.
5. Is there anyway with the Root Sound Modification's to make Bluetooth louder?
6. Is there any way to connect this device with screen mirroring to a non smart HDTV?
I'll do my best to answer some of these questions:
1. From what I've read the tinting you refer to is due to the type of LCD panel the phone uses. Coming from an S6 the display quality was one of my only regrets. AMOLED screen will spoil you.
2. You wouldn't need S-OFF to make a private photo/video gallery, but root is available for this device so if you have a method in mind that requires root you should be fine.
3. Root will not help you with getting 60fps video recording. It is possible some of the 3rd-party ROM chefs will add this as an option but you would need to do some research.
4. You can use adoptable storage on this device which will use your external SD card as internal storage. It is my understanding (somebody correct me please if I am mistaken) that the phone will default to internal storage first for certain types of data but then as space is required it will start using the external card. My phone has a 64GB card installed with about 40.87GB used but only 18.19GB of internal storage and 22.68GB of my SD card.
5. Not that I know of. Root is not the answer to everything.
6. If you mean connecting via wireless display then probably not, but there is a USB Type-C to HDMI connector you can buy on Newegg. A quick Google search turned up about a half-dozen options. Here's one on Dell's website: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...en1=470-ABMZ:101952148149:901pdb6671:c&ven2=:
Thanks for the quick reply appreciate it. If your coming from the S7 I'm assuming... how loud is the Bluetooth compared to that device.

I didn't have an S7, upgraded from S6. I haven't noticed any problems with bluetooth volume on either device, but I don't use it all that often. Mostly just in my car which worked perfectly on both.
I came from a GS7 and I actually prefer the screen on the HTC 10. Way more accurate. I compared the 2 before I returned the GS7. And also it feels like the 10 is way faster when it comes to how fast it reacts to touch response everything just moves fast on this device. I haven't had any issues with the tint either
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
I came from a Note 5 and I love the display on my 10. Just got it today, Tianma panel, no tint problems, no "coil whine" noises... Not impressed with the speakers as much though. Its a lot quieter than I'd like, especially on YouTube and my Note 5 actually has more bass than the 10 does which is disappointing.
Other than that, I scored 120k on AnTuTu out of the box, 8k lower than the LG G5 but almost double the 62-64k my Note 5 always got (it was messed up out of the box but T-Mobile wanted to charge me a restocking fee so I said nevermind and kept it).
The first sync takes a LONG time... I'm wondering if its a T-Mobile problem or not so I'm in the process of changing my device to a US unlocked RUU with root. Just backing up my partitions right now before I root and go S-OFF.

ridiculously slow transfer speed

PC : HP 250 G4
OS : Linux Mint 18
Device : Pixel XL
im using the type c - type a cable that i received from google.
the problem is transfer speed, it is RIDICULOUSLY slow.
Using the same usb port and cable i can transfer at the rate of 24-28mbps as long as transferring from the phone to the pc. However, when it comes to moving files from the pc to the phone, transfer speeds slow to a crawl, im talking an average 250kbps.
Just for testing, i attached my nexus 5x (same cable and port) and moved the same files back and forth. From the phone to the pc i got an average of 24mbps. Then from the pc to the phone i achieved an average of 18mbps.
This rules out any driver problems, cable flaws, or usb port faults. The only variable left is the device itself. Im currently trying to restore my data after flashing the newest factory image and im getting an eta of 20ish hours. Has anyone had similar experiences?
No, just transferred all my data back, because I made a flash all with latest images. And it was faster than my nexus 6.

Question S22 does not detect ssd nvme samsung 970 evo plus with external case asus rog strix arion

hi, as the title suggests, I've been trying to read my nvme ssd with an external case asus rog strix arion for days but an intermittent notification comes out that says usb device not recognized (I tried to change the file system cable but nothing) I tried the same ssd with the same case on Galaxy S7 and Galaxy A71 and it works there so I don't understand why my s22 doesn't want to read it (the power supplied by s22 is sufficient). attached a youtube video that shows the problem (as already mentioned, not present on other samsung devices):
What is the error? The video isn't clear enough to see what is said.

and there is another one that says powered usb device but in each section of android there is no trace of the connection to the ssd so it was inaccessible.

The SSD seems to keep connecting and disconnecting. in fact, the popup of the default application that manages the disk and the notification "usb device not known" appear intermittently. There is also another notification that says that the usb device is powered by USB. But for all sections of android the ssd is not detected and accessible

the ssd is from 2020 produced in 2019 but it doesn't even have a 1TBW and the asus rog strix arion i bought it less than a week ago. but on other devices they work quietly even with different formatting
After a little research, I've found articles saying that the S22 series have problems recognizing older external SSD and flash drives.
I've run into a similar problem with my USB-C to 3.5mm adapter that came with my Tab S5e. It worked on my Note 10+, but neither my S22 Ultra, Tab S7, nor my daughter's S22 would recognize it.
The A71 and S7 are older devices (3 years and 7 years respectively).

thanks for the answer but I don't think it's a power problem since my A51 doesn't support it, giving me a specific notification and turning off the case LEDs. Instead S22 does not turn off the ssd but simply cannot read it with the OS

my a71 has one ui 5.1 with android 13 as s22
In that case it could be hardware.

Then I doubt it is software related, or at least not completely. It is also possible that it is hardware. The reason I suspect hardware is because of the issue I ran into that I previously mentioned. There is also the possibility that it is the SSD. Have you run a check disk or error scan on the SSD to ensure there isn't a problem with it? SSDs do have a shorter life span than platter drives. Depending on how may times and how much data had been written and re-written.
Unfortunately, I can't test it using my Samsung 1TB EVO T5 portable SSD because it is:
a) new, and
b) formatted for NTFS and Bitlockered.
I don't have anything older than a three years old to try.
I used samsung magician and it has just over 300gb written, i.e. it is practically new and has no logical errors... moreover, this is very strange because the other devices read it and my s22 for example also reads an 870qvo ssd with an external case without problems paid 10 euros even when I format it in xbox format in fact it tells me to format it in a compatible format which does not happen with this ssd.
Ok. Can you check and update the firmware to the SSD? Also, is it possible to try it using a different S22?
I am still of the opinion that it is because the S22 series phones don't like older devices; even though it is practically new. Practically new is a relative term. You may have gotten only a few years ago, but in the technology realm, that is a long time.
I am not saying to go and buy a new one. I'm not sure it will ever work with your S22.

I understand, I will try to update the firmware and test it with a friend's S21 (since I don't have any other S22). I also sent a report to samsung in the hope that they can do something since these are two samsung products... Thanks a lot for the tip!
