SM-G781B poor or no signal - FIXED IT - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey,
i have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5g which had poor or no signal for about two weeks now.
I checked signal strength in dBm and it was very poor and most of the time the phone was not enable to connect to a network.
Today i found this video. And this was the solution.
Somehow the connector from the antenna lost its contact to the motherboard.
After i reconnected it the phone had strong signal and a very good connection again.
Watch it. Probably it can help you too.

Also heard that the issue can be caused by CSC.
It is true?
For example if I have Malaysia (XME) CSC and I will change it to Canada (XAC) CSC - signal will be better in Canada, but not good in Malaysia?
From this I have question,
if I get Canada (XAC) firmware from SM-G781W and put it to my SM-G781B (Malaysia (XME) via Odin - I'll got a brick? or a nice working smartphone?

hello colleague
I totally agree with your problem.
It never gave me network signal problems.
but I opened my equipment to make an internal modification and the antenna was disconnected to my surprise.
the white antenna was the one that was disconnected.
and then I continued with my procedure.

Signal issue with 1 gnex

Hey there guys since January me and my brother plus other family members switched from AT&T to Verizon , until couple days ago my brother started seeing very low signal on his Galaxy Nexus.
We live in NY , Queens he lives 10 minutes away from me it's different city but it's a 10-15 minute walk.
I will post two screenshot from same application to check tower status and signal strength.
First One is my screenshot

Second one is his
+1 his
Now question is this is def a Verizon problem , how do I get them to help me with this? some sort of Booster or anything : please also note that adress on my bill is assigned to me not him.
Thank you !
Sounds more like an issue with signal in his house or he may be just far enough away from the tower. Have you compared your phone's signal at his house?

I have not actually , but it was just fine since January he even had 1 4G bar , so in case that it's Verizon's fault how can I make them give us a signal extender any ideas?
Umm ask the big man upstairs for a miracle? I've never had any luck getting VZW to admit fault with anything...
Hey guys I have an interesting update , it seems there might be some sort of signal jammer inside his house he has no idea what it could be , as soon as he walks out of his house to his yard he gets perfect signal -> once he goes inside the house almost dead zone.
Question is now , how to look for signal jammers?

[Q] Signal problem come two days after phone dropped in subway

Dropped my I317 from the lift to the floor inside Subway, height is around 3m plus.
It is still working well after the drop, Screen no damage, 4G LTE network connected, call quality well.
Just the screen protector get split.
But started this morning, it has totally no signal in my office building,
I get intermittent signal loss when I back home, some time 1 -2 par, some time no signal
When I go outside buildings, signal is good with 4G speed
Is this problem related with the drop?
How to fix it? replace antenna cable or flash modem?
Thank you for any sharing!

Sounds like you might have a old modem. Setting, about device, baseband version=modem
For newer modems look here>>Section #3:good:
Thanks Bajanman,
It seems that my baseband is still there, version I317UCBMK6,
I use the following 4,3 rom I317-UCUBMK6, what should I do with the modem setting?

M919 Having AWFUL reception problems need help !

Having AWFUL reception problems Tmo SGH-M919 using M919UVUFNK2 Baseband
Tried updating the Modem 2 weeks ago. Used to use the MK2 and never had good reception but it did not drop as many calls and used to dial faster, but that's before, not recently. If I walk 100 yards away on the street, I can use the phone with no problems, 4G or LTE
I did a side-by-side with my GS3 and the GS3 can dial quickly, and has no drop calls.
The GS4 when it's receiving Edge, makes calls all garbled and a waste of time.
Kernel version 3.4.0-453951
[email protected]#1

Started getting a LOT of dropped calls, takes a hella long time to dial (when it does)
most of the time it just burps and goes back to the dialer screen. T-mo sent me 2 different repeater amps for the house and it does not do anything to improve the situation.
I have an Auto Stereo Head unit (pioneer) that interfaces with the GS4 using Mirrorlink and displays the GPS on a very large screen so I'd be screwed if I had to replace the model phone, as there ain't no DriveLink/MirrorLink that I can find that will allow me to get the GPS displayed on the big (Backup Camera) screen. Cannot dump the Pioneer head unit with Backup cam as it cost over $1700 to get it installed and working.
I'd like to hear anyone having had this problem and how they have remedied it.....
All responses appreciated!
Aloha and have a Great Day!

If you had to replace your Samsung GS4 with another GS4 - wouldn't you be able to simply reinstall the app you need to retain connectivity to your audio system?
Are you using a non tmobile sim?

Sorry for the long delay,
We went on a trip and just got back. I did manage to repair the phone problem just minutes before we left. I had corrected the problem by flashing the most Current Modem onto the phone. Now I have M919UVUFNK2 in it and the reception is remarkably better. I might get one (if any) dropped call versus nearly every call. Before, communication would not be possible due to distortion, noise, or simply burps, and no sound after that.... I don't know if there was any other reason, but it's working VERY WELL, so I am not gonna try to figure out WHAT fixed it (if not the modem), and just leave things be..... since it's working better than ever before!
Thanks for the response!

Oneplus 3 on US Tmobile Network

Anybody using Oneplus 3 on Tmobile as primary phone ? I read some Lte and 4g+ network problem ! is there any call drops ?
How is the GPS on this device ??
Stays on LTE just fine. Only once did I have a problem where data wouldn't connect but I just disabled and then reenabled it to get it working again. No call drops. GPS is perfectly fine.
So volte works fine for be but on LTE Discovery I only see my OnePlus 3 connecting to Band 4, and I'm pretty confident where I live there is band 12 (central Austin, Texas)
Anyone having a similar issue?

I also only connect to Band 4 when I check LTE Discovery, but my area (SF Bay Area) doesn't really have Band 12 in many areas. I've only noticed Band 12 in Lake Tahoe. Honestly, I think the Band 12 hype is overblown; T-mobile's current primary LTE band is Band 4, and that is likely what you will connect to in most areas at least right now.
bottom line for most of us is T-Mobile and LTE is not a problem her in the US. Speeds are rather great and I can hear and connect to all the calls I try and make as long as I have service in that area.

personally, it's not a problem for me in terms of speed or VoLTE or calls, but it's an issue that my reception is orange/yellow all day since it affects battery life.
still get great battery life tbh, just wondering why it works this way...

now that I understand but if you are inside a building like I am reception does get spotty. this is where my wifi calling would come into play. Maybe drop it out of LTE to 3g if inside a building. I did this back in the day to help my battery life

Yeah I have zero issues with VoLTE and LTE in TMobes. If anything, my HTC 10 had issues.
Band 12 connects

The way T-mo enforced this late last year/earlier this year, the phone has to be volte compliant to work on the network, which is synonymous with band 12 functionality. If it works on volte, it works on band 12.

Note 10 Plus 5G

Hello,
Long time lurker here.
I've recently purchased a Note 10 Plus 5G from Vodafone UK which I've unlocked. I've inserted my O2 UK 5G enabled sim card in it and it wont pick up 5G although I am in a 5G area. Tested on a S10 5G and it works fine.
Any idea what the issue is?
Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
What CSC is the phone on?
Hey,
Thanks for replying.
It's on VOD although should that affect it? The S10 5G is on EVR.

I'm just guessing honestly but in theory the hardware should all be the same whichever UK carrier it's from. EVR is EE, no real connection to O2 but it is a difference.
You do have 5G enabled right? (see screenshot)
Btw, certain power saving modes can turn off 5G, too.
Its enabled and works when I have a Vodafone sim in the phone which is on CSC VOD. The minute put the O2 sim card in it drops to 4G and wont budge.
As I said when I use the S10 5G which is EVR its fine. Oddly when I tried to reflash the S10 5G to BTU it defaulted to TEL in Oz. I had to flash it back to EVR firmware which luckily is a single CSC firmware.
I'm within the first 10 days of having the Note 10+ and it wont allow me to unlock the OEM to reflash. I'm a little apprehensive to do it in case the CSC defaults to something strange like TEL and I cant flash back to VOD as it's a multiple CSC firmware and I could end up on VD1 and I might lose 5G completely.
There's a Samsung service centre in town, I might drop in and see if they can help...

I think speaking in store with Samsung will be your best bet.
BTW just wanted to be clear, you don't have to OEM unlock to flash firmware with odin and if you OEM unlock you lose warranty.

I'll see what they say, might be by design?
I thought the frequency that O2 and Vodafone UK for 5G was the same?
