Question OnePlus capping game fps to 55 - OnePlus 11

OnePlus capping game fps to 55, reducing cpu and gpu clockspeed to the lowest possible whenever battery temps are close to 40°c or above. So users who have a habit of playing games at 90-120fps can face this problem. For now the only solution is to uninstall system battery app, root device and use some kernel manager app. Here i have attached few screenshots with an app call Scene 6 to show how badly it drops. So the only hope OnePlus users have is to have a custom rom where we can get rid of these issues

apex , call of duty , and co are not games that need mega fat clocks to run at 60fps (most games that run at 120fps can only be played at 120fps with low graphics settings anyway) you better use scene app check it out whether the scene app with fas is not your problem. or if your environment is too warm
And ps
This is not normal cod mobil he play it with modding like fps unkock for playing it with 120fps on max Graphics setting plus scene in performance profile plus vivo thermal disabler

[App] FPS Meter - Measure the smoothness of project butter & Games ;)

Just came across this app, was so desperate to have something similar for very long since ics.
FPS meter - play store link[App on Christmas discount sale for .99$)
This tool would be very handy in measuring how smooth a rom is. :good::good:
For gamers it would be very handy to check fps of games ... similar to fraps in pc (hope u people know fraps )
Disclaimer :
dunno if this will work with every available 2d/3d games, better read the feedback in store for reviews.
Case study:
with ll5 rom and stock kernel
* as we have project butter i can see a cap at 60 fps (vsync is there in project butter).
* while scrolling through some apps the fps fluctuates around 50 to 60 , afaik the fluctuation should not be there with project butter as it uses triple buffering along with vsync to maintain a constant 60 fps.
* enabling power saving mode in samsung roms caps the fps at 40.
wondering how much force gpu rendering will have an effect on project butter
>apps that maintain 60fps constant when scrolling
* stock touchwiz launcher
>apps that fluctuates fps in scrolling
* stock gallery
.
rest to be tested
ill add an expanded comparison of few apps if there is a difference between stock kernel and custom kernel (especially with gpu overclocked )
lets talk and share about fps in games along with fps in various apps here
Awesome share. Thanks button preseed
Sent from my GT-I9300
Cool idea
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Interesting I think I'm leaving this on just for the sake of knowing. You can see the fps drops causing the jerky scrolling in tapatalk. The fps drops with the load towards a bare minimum until touched.
?????? Galaxy S3 ??????
Noticed frames are maxed at 40 when power save cpu enabled.

Purchased. Great app.

FPS in games

Hey,
I have found this video on YT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrJM5OVpmMI .
He wrote: "Cpu is not overclocked. I have rooted phone."
And I'm confused ;\ why this guy a way better fps in this games? Shadowgun Dead Zone in UNPLAYABLE on my htc one v. In Trial Extreme 3 I have about 33% less FPS :\
btw. I have cleared cache\ram. I have 150mb of free ram.
I have found a work around method so I'll write it down, maybe it will be useful for someone:
I dunno why this guy has so good fps on a 'standard' device but I have found a good way to increase fps in games:
If you have CyanogenMod go to settings and at the bottom you will have 'performance' option; inside you can find 'processor', inside maximum something. - go there and change 1024MHz to 1400MHz. Also change 2nd option from ondemand to SMARTASSV2. That will gives you better performance when processor will need it, like in games. In fact it gives about 30% more fps without any serious consequences. (No, no serious battery draining or crashing or anything).

Games like Asphalt 8 on low res?!

I noticed that some games like Asphalt 8 do not use native resolution, but are in low res although video setting are set to highest.
I'm on a stock lollipop, not yet rooted and Knox 0.
Is it a common issue? How to enable native resolution?
Same here on Tab S 10.5

same here since lollipop update, any solution? cheers.
galaxy tab s 10.5, sm-t805
I have also experienced this behavior in Asphalt 8 since I have updated to Lollipop in the beginning of December 2015. I am on IronROM 2.5 which is TW-based Lollipop 5.0.2 ROM.
Interestingly, in some rare cases I was able to play the game in high quality. I have noticed that at least in one case the battery was full when I started playing game. But most of the time the game has been in terrible quality and sometimes even in this low quality it is lagging. Having the battery full is not a guarantee that it can be played in high quality.
I have found out that when I use Link2SD, and I enable to use Android standard "fuse" filesystem for internal storage, instead of Samsung's standard "sdcardfs" filesystem, the lags are getting worse. So by restoring the Samsung's sdcardfs filesystem the lags are not so bad.
But I was unable to force the game to go into the high-quality mode. I have even used integrated tool Hulk-Kernel STweaks to set CPU governor to "pegasusq" or "ondemand", and also set min and max CPU frequency to 1900 MHz and GPU min and max frequency to 733 MHz, but it had no impact on gaming performance in terms of graphic quality. Before starting the game I have also used task manager to free up memory (so I had some 1,8 GB of 2,71 GB used which means still some 900 MB free).
I guess it has something to do with Lollipop but I am unable to find out what is the problem.
Seems the last game update (2.3.0i) did the trick. Asphalt running on high res again. Brgds.
low res

90 FPS support in third party apps for non rooted Realme X2 pro !!

Sorry for the title
It's only for 90 fps supported games that do not run at 90 fps in Realme X2 pro.
Follow the steps:
1. Go Settings- display brightness- select screen refresh rate 'auto' and turn on 'low brightness flicker free eye comfort'
2. Open any 90fps supported game
3. Give the brightness very low (game will run at 90fps)
4. Minimize the game
5. Again go to settings and select screen refresh rate 90hz.
6. Open the minimized game
7. Increase the brightness
(Normally when you increase the brightness the game again goes from 90fps to 60fps . So you have to do this method to play games at 90 fps with high brightness)
If you fail try this method again & again..
or do same as the video:

yes that's good except that it is impossible to play at 90fps with the brightness at least at half or maximum. So it's not much use my friends
Wrong bro.
By using this method I was able to play at 90 fps even at maximum brightness. (Tasted on 'sky force reloaded' game)

¿How To Force 90 hz Refresh Rate in All Apps?

Hello, I want to know how I can force the 90 hz refresh rate in all apps and games since in certain apps and games the 90 hz does not remain constant. For example, I wanted to play pubg mobile and it was played at 60 Hz, even with 90 Hz active, something similar happens on YouTube. and many other apps. Anyone know how you can force 90 hz whether with a root method or not ...

it depends on the app, if an app was not designed to run at 90hz, it will not use the 90Hz screen...
Also depends in compatibility, some apps were designed to run 90hz on high end phones with powerful processors (which is the case for PUBG) but will not do so on mid tier SoCs

Maybe, but i tell you something. I had a mi 9 and I overclock the screen to 84 hz, all the interface was smooth. I think is not an apps issue. i think is a system cap... Because I can a 90 fps or 84 fps in pubg mobile with a hex editor trick. And here because of that I cant do it..
