Question S21 FE G990B2 to G990B - Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Hi,
Could anyone help me to answer the question IF it is possible to flash stock ROM G990B on G990B2 model, and if so how? I need to get band selection working and with the Samsung toolkit and exploit it is not working as I would like it to be, so my thought was to try and flash it with G990B stock rom with security patch earlier than July 2022. Unfortunately G990B2 has earliest stock ROM I could find with security patch from September 2022, means after Samsung screwed up band selection...

One of my friends has converted his S21fe from G990U to G990U1, but both the firmware's binary versions were same. But for your case, you not only want to convert but also want to downgrade to an earlier firmware version. As mentioned on the Samsung OTA update page (See attachment), I am not sure that's possible anymore.

G990B2 I have on September 2022 ROM. I was thinking of going to G990B September 2022 version as well and than try to downgrade to say June 2022. I know on G990B I am able to go easily from Decemeber 2022 down to April 2022, as I did on few devices already. But this G990B2 version threw another stick under my feet...

Why no updates for Note 10+ since September 2019

Hi,
Since 21st of October I am the owner of a Note 10+ an awsome phone and again better than all previous Notes I had since Note 2
But the weird thing is that my Note 10+ is not updating. Bought in the Netherlands with Baseband N975FXXU1ASI1
and Sw version
SAOMC_SM-N(&%F_OXM_XEF_PP_0009
RF8M90BY7SD
XEF/XEF_XEF/VD2
I do understand that this phone was produced for the French market?
After unboxing the update which is still the "up to date one" is the 1 September security update
After this update I learned that Samsung send 3 more updates the security updates October, November and a service update end of October. regarding the Fingerprint scanner
Who knows how I can get the proper updates even when OTA is not working
Thansk in advance for your help :good:

Had the same problem with my DTM Firmware, to solve it i flashed the (in my case) DBT CSC with the newest firmware and now I get every update.
Some sellers imported the phone from other markets, countries. So they can buy the phone cheaper and make more profit. It's legal. But as it comes to update, your phone gets them when the country where they are imported from and not as they release in your own country. You can see the worldwide schedule at www.sammobile.com But if something is wrong, you won't have Samsung guarantee. Only the sellers guarantee.
I ordered my Note10+ directly from Samsung in The Netherlands, and updates are fine. This month I have already received 2 updates. You could indeed try to change the CSC.

Hi i also have the same problem, my latest update was the December 2019 one with the android 10 one ui 2.0. i didnt get any updates since then. i flashed the german firmware in December from Samfrew(like Sammobile) and i bought my phone from Egypt(IN September). is it safe if i download the latest update, will it overwrite with the current one causing issues? i never downloaded the software twice? And can i use Home_CSC and not CSC??
My phone is Note10+ Exynos SM-N975F
Thanks

Can I just change the CSC code?

I bought a Verizon S9 through Swappa from "It's all wireless Inc." and expected to update it to Android 10. Well it came in and has CSC G960USQU7CSJ2 from CCT (Comcast) and won't go past Android 9 security patch level October 1, 2019. I'm not very happy and they aren't responding to emails. I've never flashed firmware on a phone but have been reading everything I can find. My question is can I just change the CSC code to VZW (see link below) and it will then pull the firmware/security patches OTA or do I have to flash the full firmware? Thanks in advance for the advice guys..

first things first, please dont post outside links like that one on the bottom of your post.
now thats out of the way, all you need to do is flash the VZW firmware with Odin. I bought 3 Cricket S9's and flashed all of them with the U1 firmware and have also flashed the VZW firmware on them just for s--ts and giggles. Technically speaking, the firmware likely already has all the VZW stuff baked in, it just needs to be told which CSC to use, but since youre behind on FW anyways, just flash the newest G960U FW for VZW, reboot, profit. When flashing, be sure to use the HOME_CSC to not factory reset it and the CSC if you want a clean slate.

Noob question: Can Odin change my German branded SM-G988B/DS to Nordic firmware?

Hello,
I am completely new to changing firmware using Odin, and I want to make sure, that I don't brick my phone
I have bought a S20 Ultra 512GB 5GB DS (Exynos), but it seems to be a German firmware, as it comes with Deutche Telekom apps preinstalled, two of which can't be uninstalled, and Samsung Members speak German instead of Danish.
My biggest issue, though, is that the latest OTA security update is May 1st.
Base band version: G988BXXU2ATE3
SAOMC_SM-G988B_OXM_DTM_QQ_0006
I found this: (can't post links on XDA yet):
samfw -> firmware- > SM-G988B -> NEE -> G988BXXU2ATF5
Which is for the scandinavian countries. (Nordic)
Changelist 18862671
Build date Mon, 08 Jun 2020 06:59:35 +0000
Security Patch Level 2020-06-01
Product code NEE
PDA G988BXXU2ATF5
CSC G988BOXM2ATF5
The questions:
Can I apply that to my phone, or will it brick the phone?
Will it get regular OTA updates for the nordic variant afterwards?
How much user data will be retained after firmware update?
Thank you so much for your assistance to a complete newbie
If you want to change it you will need to use Samkey (paid).

Oh, okay
That's another new thing for me to get into...
I will read up on it and get back with more questions
But can I ask already:
Which of these procedures (samkey and Odin), if any, will break warranty?

It doesn't break warranty :good:
Hi again,
Sorry to be of bother...
I succesfully switched the CSC of the OXM firmware from DTM to NEE.
Now Service Provider Software Version is: SAOMC_SM-G988B_OXM_NEE_QQ0009
NEE/NEE,NEE/EUX/DTM
I know for sure, that the NEE models (though 128GB version) has received the One UI 3/Android 11 update.
But it is not offered as an OTA update to me.
I have rebooted twice, but still no OTA update.
I'm still stuck at an update from September/October.
Is it because mine is a 512GB version of S20 Ultra, while the rest of the NEE versions are 128GB?
Or is it because it still reads DTM at the end of ...NEE/EUX/DTM?

AT&T S20+ 5G not receiving updates

Hi Community,
I bought my S20+ 5G in October and since then it has not received any updates, neither security patches nor Android 11. I called AT&T and Samsung both but they kept putting the blame on each other. By searching online I realized this seems like a theme in these kind of issues. The only option I feel I have at this point is to install the upgrade myself. I'm more concerned with Android 11 than security patches. I still got for security patch from June 2020 and One UI 2.1.
With this context can you please help with the below questions:
1. When I try to look up the firmware using Model:SM-G986U and CSC:ATT in Frija or SamMobile nothing comes up. I'm looking for G986USQU1CTKH. Am I missing something?
2. But it does come up with CSC:TMB. Can I install this version on ATT branded phone?
2a. Is the TMB version exactly same as ATT version?
3. Does this process trip the Knox counter?
4. Does this process void the warranty?
5. Are missing software updates covered under manufacturer warranty?

AT&T doesn't allow their firmware to be publicly available for any of their devices. Have you attempted updating your device with Smartswitch? Flashing T-mobile's firmware isn't an option to receive updates on your device. This post has information and answers to your questions.
G986U and G986U1 Firmware Links and Flashing Discussion Here
For those who aren't already aware, G986U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the S20+. The G986U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100%...

Question S901U OTA updates not received

Hello everyone
I bought an S22 with model number S901U (carrier locked T-mobile) from overseas in Dubai that I received unlocled in someway but was stuck on October 2022 security patch and android 12. It says it is up to date and refuses to find newer versions (no updates detected or pushed).
I manually updated the software to the february security patch and android 13 using sam mobile site and odin.
(I used the CSC that matched the device that was TMB/XAA)
After the update, the software version became ASR/XAA,XAA/XAA.
So the first question, what does this ASR stand for, I couldn't find it in any CSC abbreviations.
Secondly, the TMB is not shown, so does this mean that I will start receiving OTA updates directly from samsung?
(From what I understood, the phone is not receiving updates because it is the carrier locked version that has no connection/relation to the carrier, so will this software version change affect this).
After the update, I didn't detect any faults or problems so far, the device is still carrier unlocked and works fine till now.
Any help in explaining the situation will be much appreciated.
